Ocarina of Time got every single GOTY award that year, outsold all of them in America and was by far the highest rated game to the point Guinness World Records gave it a award for it a decade after it's release.
To put into perspective how garbage zoomer games are, Resident Evil 2 got zero awards in 1998 and didn't make the top 5 for sales that year in the west. They remade it nearly 20 years later with half of the content removed and it won Game of the year.

Not only is Ocarina of Time the best game ever, it holds the distinction of being the only entertainment product that is objectively the best of its industry. No song, movie, book, tv series or anything of the sort ever managed to be so highly acclaimed as to be considered the best, but the gaming industry does have one GOAT game that ranks above all others. All other games after it have tried to dethrone it, but none have succeeded. The Zelda franchise itself is still living in the shadows of OoT 25 years later, and every Zelda game ever released afterwards has inevitably been compared to it. Ocarina is simply on a level of its own
