I miss when they had guests reading the script like Egoraptor, JonTron and Caddicarus.
Off the top of my head, in their very first upload, the final "fact" of the video is about Hey You! Pikachu and they talk about how if you say "Sony" or "Playstation", Pikachu gets mad. However, that fact was never true and already had been debunked many times well before their upload. You could argue that they really didn't "lie" since the person who wrote that video likely didn't know that the Pikachu hates Sony thing was a myth, but still.
>Used to be shit with outright lies but they're actually pretty cool now translating old magazines and interviewing developers
this
They actually do their own research now and they frequently debunk lies and misinfo that other gaming sites have published as fact.
But it's cool videos. They recently did a deep dive on an old obscure licensed pokemon pc game, interviewed the developer, and released the game that was considered lost media
I can never tell anymore. I just know what I think and I do appreciate that there's actual fact checking now compared to when would just spew trivia sections from wikis at you. But what
All they do is make videos about Mario, Pokemon, and LoZ.
says is true, either they only care about Nintendo or their sources/translators only care about Nintendo.
It is pretty obvious to me. This many anons wouldn't bring up that they are doing real research now when they didn't before. It is very obvious astroturfing.
Peak Olivia from Bolivia shit.
Oh yeah, that > Video comes out mother's Day > make another video "m-muh video isn't making views" when it's clearly mother's Day so no one gives a frick > delete video after everyone complains about their b***hing about views
First time I've seen a channel go from lazy clickbait to legitimate research and journalism instead of the inverse. They even call themselves out for spouting myths in the past. They've been really Pokemon-heavy lately which can get a bit tedious but I do really like their output overall in the past handful of years. Excellent laundry/commute listening.
In this case tracking down and translating very old interviews with developers, tracking down developers to old games and even obtaining source code from them to re-release lost media, and doing research of their own to debunk common myths about games and their development.
As far as their corner of the world goes, that is about as good as it can get.
i like their N64 videos, it's actually refreshing when its not something like other vids that still use shit like dk64's expansion pak thing or perfect dark's face scan via gb camera.
One of the few channels I watched when I was younger that I'll still watch occasionally. They've only gotten better over time and they put a pretty high level of effort into every video for a channel that posts so consistently. Usually it's either good videos or a good schedule, very rare that it's both.
Good content for 12 year olds, maybe. But when you grow taste buds you can pretty easily separate bad youtube stuff from good youtube stuff. Running Shine is miles better than most of the shit I watched when I was younger.
What's wrong with him? He makes good, funny videos. They run a little long sometimes and take forever to come out, but quality over quantity definitely applies there.
yes. I like the "summarized playthrough / commentary / review" format because it's comfy, but Running shine is a cut above the rest because he's both actually funny without being obnoxious and insightful without being pretentious.
Thats not a videogame
Dall-E isn't a videogame
dumb because I do know gaming
met gaming personally
I didn't know
Used to be shit with outright lies but they're actually pretty cool now translating old magazines and interviewing developers
Wait, What did they lie about?

The only 3 relevant video game series
But it's cool videos. They recently did a deep dive on an old obscure licensed pokemon pc game, interviewed the developer, and released the game that was considered lost media
I already hated Gamer Rant but even more now that I'm aware how much wrong shit is published there
Good. I enjoy. Quality channel.
God, I haven't watched this channel in years.
>just reads wikipedia for 10 minutes
Wow, this gay clearly deserves views.
Someone paid someone else to make this thread.
Looks like it. They are heavily pushing a narrative that the channel is "real content" now. Anons don't talk like this it feels very inorganic.

Maybe people just like them
Why do they always cry like piss babies over their viewcount? You don't see Gaming Historian begging for views.
Probably because they peaked a decade ago and can't get over the fact they won't be getting millions of views with every video.
Oh yeah, that

Because they're afraid of better competition.
What do you constitute as “legitimate journalism” when it comes to gaming?
In this case tracking down and translating very old interviews with developers, tracking down developers to old games and even obtaining source code from them to re-release lost media, and doing research of their own to debunk common myths about games and their development.

It alright
I'm still waiting for them to get that cancelled HL1 expansion
i like their N64 videos, it's actually refreshing when its not something like other vids that still use shit like dk64's expansion pak thing or perfect dark's face scan via gb camera.
Did you know? Super Mario Bros. 2 was actually a completely unrelated game called Doki Doki Panic in Japan.
>he doesn't know

Every channel puts out good content. The only difference is that you grew up.

Got their hour long compilations running on 2nd monitor while playing gay shit like WoW or Imuoto Fantasy
