I don’t like DMC very much, but I liked this game. The visualization of the levels of hell and the characters you meet are pretty epic. The game did an exceptional job at setting tone. I played this game near its real ease and I still think about it pretty often.

My favorite GOW clone though Dante was more compelling in one game than Keaton has been in his entire series. Also the Cross is one of my favorite weapons ever. There’s nothing cooler than smiting demons with big blasts of God energy out of a big silver cross.
I like it, since I think a lot of people don't want to use the obvious signs and symbols--making it far less likely for them to be used at all. Plus as the other anon said, summoning God's power through a cross and bloodily destroying the wicked a la Hellsing never gets old
The epitome of a game type lost to time. Mediocre and unremarkable but had an interesting gimmick nonetheless.

Dante's Inferno takes inspiration from both, the combat definitely feels closer to DMC besides defense being dodge roll oriented

Good game but the quality goes into free fall after gluttony. The second last level is literally just arena challenges because they ran out of time.
