The Galar fossils are pretty cute, honestly. There isn’t much of a reason to either “defend” or “seethe over” what are pretty much just silly designs anyway.
Did we ever find out what exactly the rings attached to them are? I remember an anon saying they are ranks with Oki being the highest rank but do they tie in story wise?
those frickers have the worst colour synergy i've seen in a pokemon. dog in particular but monkey is pretty bad too, it's kinda like uncanny valley where it's just slightly off enough to look worse than if it was either completely off or completely fine. bird is less offensive, colours being similar and white parts save it from being appaling.

i dont work in marketing, though its obvious they're out of touch. when promoting a new dlc expansion, i'd imagine you'd want the new ''flagship'' pokemon for that dlc to be really exciting & cool. ( Monster Hunter always nails this aspect )
Scarlet & Violet's cover legendaries are the best i've seen since like gen 6 or so, and while the new dlc mon are presumably just regular mons, they still look hidious AF.
the phalic looking monkey looks straight out of Yo-Kai Watch, except the actual mons from that dead franchise are genuinely amusing.
tldr; dlc pokemon should be *more* hype & badass than the vanilla roster to help sell people on buying the dlc, and Gamefreak has delivered us sinful design horrors like Calyrex back in gen-8#, or that bridge abomination, which by the way already got special snowflake treatment in the same gen it was introduced to by means of Gigantamax.
can someone change the colors to a more natural tone? i'd suggest make the monkey keep the black, but change the blue to a skin pink, make the dog/bear's black a neatural brown with the green being a tan, and the bird... idk, i'd only change the black to something though.
