The only place I'd take over the original is the final boss fight and MAYBE the Vortigaunt village. Everything else is as I said a slogfest and dragged it on for far too long to justify the wait time

The last ~10% is about 70% longer than it needs to be. Fun game either way.
i understand interloper's hate but xen+gonarch+boss are amazing and interloper lets you finally use gluon gun for more than 10sec so i didnt mind the cable slog
remaking blue shift. the chapters all the way to xen jump are out and pretty great. they turn the generic npcs of the originals into their own characters (aside from rosenberg)
i like it except the interloper factory. it just kills the pacing. the original was a short few chapters ramping up to the boss, BM's is kinda anticlimactic. feels like the missing link in human revolution.
probably a bug with your video card, i had a laptop that was really dark with black mesa and left 4 dead 2. try these

Really good but Xen is too long. Boss was fun. It felt like a doom boss.
Didn't like it. Maybe I was expecting too much but it felt way more jank the original and it crashed several times.

Never played the original HL and I thought it was amazing and immersive.
