>Needed multiplayer though
My thoughts exactly. No issues otherwise, very fun game and a great launch title.
I never really got into this one, but I bought a GBA at launch with MV and loved that one and also played the hell out of X and GX. Really enjoying 99 too.
>MV
I always got the impression it was really close to the first game gameplay wise (or at least closer than GP Legend and Climax), but then again I only played each of the GBA games just a bit before going back to the SNES and X. X was probably the only reason I wished I had a N64 because playing it on Project64 and a keyboard was crummy as shit.
Yeah it has an incomplete feel to me too. Soundtrack is great though.
>Soundtrack is great though.
Big Blue and Mute City always get the remixes but I feel Fire Field doesn't get the appreciation it deserves
>I like the spastic drum fills.
I never noticed it before getting some decent headphones, but I love the way they pan from left to right.
Some claim the GX version (great track in itself) is a remix of the original, but either I can't hear it or people are just imagining things.
Some of the best music in gaming. F-Zero Guitar Arrange is great if you haven't heard it. It's the F-Zero 64 music though. It's made by some of the guys that did the game music i'm pretty sure. They did release a physical CD you could buy but it was pretty rare and goes for about $900 these days for a 2nd hand copy
yeah fire field is great. I like this remix of port town

It's ok, but X and GX were such a qualitative jump that the original became obsolete. Also you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99.
>Also you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99.
Yeah, nobody's ever made an F-Zero thread before whatever you're talking about. Such a no-name dev obscure series.
>you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99
You say it as a bad thing. Good for him, he can come try the other games once he realizes piracy is a thing.
Can't believe fricking zoomers would rather have a gx port over the masterpiece that is the original with online play added, the extra player are just a bonus. I'm liking this meme trend, I see the online sm64 lobbies and mario wonder and feel every game benefits from some form of mass connectivity like this. Kid me always dreamt of stuff like this
>you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99
Oh yeah? Then what does that make you for knowing where it came from? Checkmate, homosexual.
I quite liked it but have a couple of criticisms, the biggest being that Goro seemed the only viable player in the end. Much faster than the other racers and could take a hit
I've always hated mode 7 pseudo-3D racing games, the genre really needs actual 3D for me to enjoy it
The SNES/GBA F-Zero and Mario Kart games are basically unplayable to me
As much as I like X and GX, I still think the original is superior in at least one way: the tight controls. Nothing compares to how good the original feels to control. Also the music. Still the best soundtrack in the series.
It's kind of always been my F-Zero. The visuals and colour palette is beautiful, the music absolutely slaps, and the racing is tight. I always wished for an updated version with all the playable characters from F-Zero X and online multiplayer, so I got that... almost
Having grown up with actual 3D games, mode 7 racers seem ridiculously antiquated.
It's got some historical value, but am I going to play it when I can play X or GX? No.
FRICK THIS PIECE OF SHIT
It feels like shit to control, a tap of the dpad sends you swerving. The AI ruins the entire experience.
I don't think I have the patience to beat any of the prix's in expert mode.
The soundfont also sounds like shit
>digs into turns for no reason >mindlessly hits the boost pad even when you can clearly see the car in the way >can't stay off the track borders >500ms reaction time >boosts into another car and starts ramming walls
maybe racing games aren't for you
and here's my garbage final lap where I botch a turn and get tag-teamed into the wall by the Goose and Stingray, yet I recover and still manage to take 2nd place.
No, this is really a (You) problem.
Also you do not need to take every boostpad in this particular track (unless you are in the Golden Fox or something)
and here's my garbage final lap where I botch a turn and get tag-teamed into the wall by the Goose and Stingray, yet I recover and still manage to take 2nd place.
Which autist has the better CRT shader is the better question
That is a CRT shader actually. top kek is it really that convincing? Its the cyberlab shader it emulates the reflection of a real crt on the sides
That webm just says you're bad and need to get better. And like the other anon says, use Fire Stingray until you actually know how to play the game.
[...]
Nobody knows what you are babbling about zoomer, F-Zero has always been good.
Fire Stingray is much harder to use, I beat Knight league on expert with Blue Falcon, it definitely seems like the most forgiving vehicle
Fire Stingray has broken stats because it has the best handling, highest top speed, strongest body and longest boost. Downside is slow acceleration so don't hit the wall or other racers.
Shit, to be honest. Had more fun with MK.
Also the AI has rubberbanding out the ass.
One of the best racing games of all time. Needed multiplayer though.
99-player multiplayer would have been sweet
Dream on Bozo
Shit is kind of a meme. They should've just done 2-8 player multiplayer, with different modes
Maybe you'll get that in the next game. :^)
>Needed multiplayer though

Absolute fire.
yeah great track. I like the spastic drum fills.

Best opinion on F-Zero (snes)
It's ok. X is my favorite N64 game though.
tech demo; could have expanded a whole lot on it
Yeah it has an incomplete feel to me too. Soundtrack is great though.
Only God knows the extent of my hatred for Zoomers.
Loved it back in the 90s, still love it today.
I feel bad for anti-Nintendo people who don't let themselves enjoy F-Zero, they're missing out.
I never really got into this one, but I bought a GBA at launch with MV and loved that one and also played the hell out of X and GX. Really enjoying 99 too.
I feel like what this game needed was having 99 race cars competing on a ten feet wide track. SNES version feels half-baked as it is.
Maximum Velocity is SNES F-Zero but harder.
It's ok, but X and GX were such a qualitative jump that the original became obsolete. Also you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99.

The new battle Royal game is fun idc what anyone says
Can't believe fricking zoomers would rather have a gx port over the masterpiece that is the original with online play added, the extra player are just a bonus. FZ99 perfectly combines the racing and killing aspect of F-Zero. It's very intense
>you're a filthy zoomer who's discovered the series because of F-Zero 99
Oh yeah? Then what does that make you for knowing where it came from? Checkmate, homosexual.
> TFW still waiting for F-One
I have good news, Formula 1 exists in the real world and there's a lot of games based on it
The F isn't for Formula
>homosexuals - ZERO
Always knew it was the straight man's game
Yeah after making Excitebike which had the blue homosexual, Miyamoto said he wanted to make a racing game with zero homosexuals
he also made his stance on multiplayer quite clear. Though this was short lived
Mario simply couldn't contain his shock.
We are all part of one race.
The human race.
Not a lot of the contestants in F Zero, no.
solid rental until the snes got a better library
I quite liked it but have a couple of criticisms, the biggest being that Goro seemed the only viable player in the end. Much faster than the other racers and could take a hit
this game deserved a sequel on the snes
Technically it got one if you count the BS DLCs.
I've always hated mode 7 pseudo-3D racing games, the genre really needs actual 3D for me to enjoy it
The SNES/GBA F-Zero and Mario Kart games are basically unplayable to me

The whole series (didn't play X or the later GBA games, yet) is actually pretty amazing
you need to play X it's the best in the series.
this
What is your problem?
I saw the direct and felt bad about it...
That's what you get falling for the hype. Never listen to leakers or leaks unless they showcase the game to risk being sniped. EVER.
I prefer X and GX but the original has its charm I guess
Really skimpped on graphical assests.
*makes it obsolete*
Can you even compare them though? One is a futuristic arcade racer, the other is a wacky fun party racer.
MK is just a straight up improvement in every way, that's why it makes it obsolete. You can always play alone, so it's hardly a party racer.
All wrong
mario kart has fricking garbage physics and feels awful to control, what is wrong with you
I prefer F-Zero a million times. Much smoother, bigger circuits and less bloated. Super Mario Kart sucks ass.
It's kind of always been my F-Zero. The visuals and colour palette is beautiful, the music absolutely slaps, and the racing is tight. I always wished for an updated version with all the playable characters from F-Zero X and online multiplayer, so I got that... almost
Very fun 😀
I played this earlier and there's still a flickering blue falcon on my screen.
Having grown up with actual 3D games, mode 7 racers seem ridiculously antiquated.
It's got some historical value, but am I going to play it when I can play X or GX? No.

Amateur.
Note that there is a master difficulty which you haven't even unlocked yet.
Also fire stingray is the best vehicle in the game.
stop trying to beat off prix and try just winning instead
>digs into turns for no reason
>mindlessly hits the boost pad even when you can clearly see the car in the way
>can't stay off the track borders
>500ms reaction time
>boosts into another car and starts ramming walls

No this game just sucks and feels like shit to play
it feels great.

No, this is really a (You) problem.

Which autist has the better CRT shader is the better question
the filter just looks like a simple scanline overlay and nothing more. the first post i think is on a real CRT
That is a CRT shader actually. top kek is it really that convincing? Its the cyberlab shader it emulates the reflection of a real crt on the sides
Fire Stingray is much harder to use, I beat Knight league on expert with Blue Falcon, it definitely seems like the most forgiving vehicle

The game throws a frickton of bullshit at you at all times, Falcon is definitely easier to use, with the stingray I’m always hopelessly behind
That webm just says you're bad and need to get better. And like the other anon says, use Fire Stingray until you actually know how to play the game.
Nobody knows what you are babbling about zoomer, F-Zero has always been good.
Utter classic but X's boost system is better. Soundtrack is phenomenal
Are we pretending this is a good game now because of that new switch shite?
I love the AI in the game.
>doing good, last lap
>out in front
>backwards driver comes out of the distance like a bat out of hell trying to kamikaze you
Love that shit.
F to the Z to the ero
it was one of the good snes classics for sure, everyone i knew loved it. it was pretty hard too though.
F-Zeebo ?
Comfy and innovative. Loved the "feel" of the cities. Everything was so glowy and high tech.
