Good, She is fun and probably the peak of "Meet Your Friendly Rival", honestly her biggest issue is that the game chickened out of just admitting she was the Top Champion withe the whole back and forth of "Champion Nemona", "Oh, she is just -A- Champion, not -THE- Champion", "Actually -THE- Champion just admitted Nemona is stronger then her". Her "Grooming" Schtick makes sense and makes it clear from the get go she is deliberately gimping herself right up until the end of Victory Road makes crushing her feel as much of a detriment to her character, especially with pulling out Tera out of her ass before you have access to it yourself, honestly the game is actually pretty stingy on having you fight her.
You also don't actually fight her all that much before the "Champion" match. Like the Champion Match is the 6th one, and do consider that you probably also do Titans and Star Raids between Gyms and she is actually fought pretty sparsly after the Intro.
She could be improved sure, but after fricking Hop Nemona is a huge step up if the stick the landing with Kieran they would just be TWO good rivals rather then Nemona turning into a bad one due to Kierans presence since they seem to be doing two different angles.

She could mention something about how she injured her arm throwing Pokeballs (hence wearing the brace) or her hinted asthma (getting winded before Penny), but nope, those are left to interpretation and she never mentions them. Her picking the starter weak to yours is just the icing on the cake. And even as friendly rivals go, Arven is still more interesting.
Kieran is much better as a specific rival. He deliberately rivals you for an outcome, you can see his descent into hatred in real time as he comes to resent you, forming a basis for his thirst for power and determination to defeat you. Nemona claims that you'll be rivals for life (which you can repeatedly say no to), but you don't have to say no to Kieran, it's understood without question that he hates your guts now and wants to knock you down a peg or two.
Huh. Making hop a girl might actually improve the character slightly... it would certainly make the obsession with his brother and insecurities about sucking ass through a straw at battles more palatable.

She was unable to recognize that the two Raidons were fighting despite how fricking obvious it was AND she couldn't tell that the student in her post-game story didn't want to battle with her until he spelled it out to her.
And then she explains how her autism-fueled battling talent made her kind of an outsider because no one could compete with or relate to her. The implication seems to be that many people talk shit about her behind her back because she's a strong, successful battle nerd (even Arven talked shit and called her annoying despite the two not even knowing each other at the beginning). She was unhappy because she constantly had to hold back when battling her friends because she wanted everyone to have fun, at the cost of her own happiness.
Then there's also implied things in her story about how she's the second child of a very rich family that doesn't really care about her cause the first child is already the successor of her parent's company, plus whatever is going on with her health.
Implications, huh? That's all her “story” has? And being lonely at the top is not a character flaw. She's not challenged by this and she doesn't overcome it. She doesn't have an arc. She's still the same annoying girl she was when you meet her. A character flaw she should have is that she's arrogant and thinks nothing of you at the start of your journey. By the end she realizes there's more to battles and becomes humbled by you. But she doesn't change at all in the game. Waste of a rival, and waste of potential.
So you're just going ignore her flaw of being socially inept? Alright then, I can't help you further with that. You can keep thinking that she has no flaws if you'd like.
