>Fossil Fighters
Holy kino, but after the 2nd game it all went wrong. Red Entertainment got bought out by China & Nintendo just gave it to Chunsoft and didn't co-develop like it did for the other 2. Then after the 3rd game bombed and was shit they didn't know what do with it and put it in hibernation.
A lot of one-off titles exist because of specific circumstances that just led to a game being made, not an actual attempt to add to their lineup. See picrel.
>they published it
that's usually how it works. Publishers keep the rights to the IP. For example, SEGA owns Bayonetta despite not making any of the games themselves and not publishing any of her sequels, they published Bayo1 and if you publish the game where the IP debuts you usually get the rights to the IP.
>if you publish the game where the IP debuts you usually get the rights to the IP.
Oh, of course, that's why Nintendo owns the rights to Final Fantasy and Square owns the rights to Breath of Fire
Ok, question I've always had:
Why the hell did Capcom need Square to publish Breath of Fire? They're CAPCOM

>At that time, Capcom had not yet attempted to localize a game which relied so heavily on text. In addition, the company had already begun work on Breath of Fire II. The task of localizing Breath of Fire was therefore handed over to Squaresoft, a company with more experience at translating Japanese role-playing games to English. Squaresoft released Breath of Fire in lieu of Final Fantasy V, which was not ported to American video game consoles until 1999.

Yeah, sounds about right.

Probably marketing.
Square was THE name for RPGs in NA at the time. Capcom is a big name, but not exactly known for RPGs.
Pikmin (ports nor spin-offs count)
Chibi-Robo 🙁
Wario Land.
Also, I thought Starfy was just some thing anon's made up and were drawing porn and oc of. didn't realize it was an actual game/series.
I want Pikmin back, and port 1 and 2 to the Switch.
Warioland is a prime candidate for a reboot though.
Star Fox should stay dead. The concept is dull and the games just aren't very good anyways.
F-Zero as a game series is the same as above. They've never been that great and racing games in general just aren't very interesting anymore to most people, myself included. There's no need to even scratch that itch.
Yeah I agree with you
I genuinely don't blame Nintendo for not farting out more Star Fox games, literally everything different they've ever tried to do with the series have been pretty much universally reviled
and then F-Zero, there are five good F-Zero games that are all pretty damn similar to each other and I don't know if the world needs a sixth
I can think of a lot of ways to innovate on F-Zero. However, that doesn't mean it needs innovation. F-Zero GX is probably all we need. About the only thing they could possibly do is a GX remaster with 1080p visuals and a little better AI balancing.
Starfox could unironically benefit from the open world/space meme. Design a furry, new graduate at Corneria millitary academy. Either continue as a member of their defense force or go off and become a mercenary for hire. Training simulator that could have you play as the main SF cast in adventures they had a linear arcade style challenges.
>The concept is dull and the games just aren't very good anyways
I strongly disagree. SF2 was a great idea on underpowered hardware and Kid Icarus Uprising/Sin&Punishment are all the proof you need that rail shooters are fun as frick. Hell, you could even leverage the general setting to make a space furry-themed Ace Pilot/Project Wingman type of game and still have it be fun. That's not even including the on-foot stuff from Assault being pretty fun, or the potential to turn the series into other genres like Shmups or something.
The big issue with Starfox is that it rides or dies on aesthetic first, and not just for furgay reasons. You need to nail that serious-but-campy "Space Opera meets Top Gun" feel or it gets fricked fast.
That and every game past SF64 (unless you count SF2 as being "after" due to SNES Mini shenanigans) has been kind of shit for various reasons.
>no 1080 Snowboarding >no Duck Hunt
Besides these, about the only one I want to return is Mario Land. No, not Wario, but Mario Land. Preferably with Daisy as the playable character.
Pikmin isn’t dead. They recently had a mobile app and the Deluxe port, and you can say those aren’t mainline new entires, but they obviously have plans to continue the series in the near future.
Nintendo knows what's best for their fanbase and franchises.
Have you thought maybe you're asking for something you don't want by bringing these old IPs back?
Just be thankful Nintendo made them in the first place and you have fond memories of playing them.
Then why not remake the old games for fans who want to play them again? And if not even that, just port the game to their Switch via this app that everyone pays for and the fans are happy.
Seriously, 3 out of the 8 original Smash 64 roster doesn’t have a Switch game and you can only play their games on NSO.
Sorry dude, but Vanpool has been banished to the Kirby mines, all you can do is hope HAL lets them go once they're done with the upcoming Kirby collection.
The reason is usually that the development teams that worked on these games don't exist anymore, this was the case for 2D Metroid for a while until Mercury Steam came along.
Non degenerates want star fox, f-zero and wario land back but will not get them right away. They will survive the purge. Golden sun and wave race warlocks are delusional, don't let them alter your outlook. Rhythm Heaven and Mother gays are delusional on a completely different level, and will fail in getting what they want.
I personally want Chibi Robo. I haven't played the gamecube one, but I played the JP-only DS game and it was great. My younger brother really loved Starfy as a kid and has been mad every single direct at the lack of a new one. I hope he gets it just so I can see him happy about something for once.
Is Tsunku still asking people on Twitter to tell Nintendo that they want a new Rhythm Heaven? Hopefully not, because that might be a sign that one got greenlit
Nobody wants them dead, we want them revived but Nintendo just wants to keep milking the old IPs and regurgitating the new ones.
>BUT NO STUDIO WANTS TO DO A NEW F-ZERO OR STAR FOX!
Okay you literally have WayForward who already revived Advance Wars, why not give them another small series to revive like Wario Land or another dead platformer?
Nintendo was very clearly unhappy with how Advance Wars turned out and Ukraine was just a cover. They will never get anything like that again. You'd be better off with NLG making something
Mother isnt dead, its finished, saying that Mother is dead its like saying Harry Potter is dead because JKR didnt make a new main book since Deadly Hallows.
What are you saying anon, there has not been any new entries in the Harry Potter universe since 2007! just like there has not been a new main movie in the Star Wars since Disney bought it!
Did you bonk your head, sweetie? If you kill me now it couldnt be homicide, it could be euthanasia
>Punch-Out
Why is this still dead anyway?
At least Sakurai admitted early on that he probably wasn't going to give his KI reboot a sequel, but nobody seems to want to touch PO at all despite all the promotion the Wii game had.
Rhythm Heaven isn't dead, it had a 2016 3DS game
>6 years ago
>no switch titles
Dead
Man, it's sad there'll never be another Kid Icarus. The first one scratched that Star fox itch so good. Even the corny dialogue was on point.
Uprising was one of the most SOVLful 3DS games.
The first one is an NES game
None. They all FLOP
Fossil Fighters was a lot of fun. Dinosaurs are cool in general but I liked the whole combat wheel thing
Startropics, Wario Land and Codename Steam are the ones i want the most revived.(or maybe high quality mother remakes in 3d)
Startropics you could basically do anything with and as long as it had the same goofy tone and boppin music it would be great
>Fossil Fighters
Holy kino, but after the 2nd game it all went wrong. Red Entertainment got bought out by China & Nintendo just gave it to Chunsoft and didn't co-develop like it did for the other 2. Then after the 3rd game bombed and was shit they didn't know what do with it and put it in hibernation.
I guess you could say Fossil Fighters went extinct
None
No because its better for fans of those franchise to make new games instead of letting Nintendo make new official titles.
Really miss this one
Is this game worth 6 bucks on the wiiu eshop?
6 bucks? sure go for it.
Nintendo could easily do a Custom Robo battle royale
Chibi-Robo would be perfect for a Switch game.
Feels weird not seeing Metroid in these dead nintendo ip images anymore.
Soon we'll see star fox in these.
It's already there.
Can you really call Pikmin dead when Pikmin 3 just came out like 2 years ago
Like sure it's a port but it had a bunch of new content
>Not listed, the dozens of one-off titles they made and never again
They'll let Grezzo make Ever Oasis 2 right?
Right after they make Dragalia Lost 2
A lot of one-off titles exist because of specific circumstances that just led to a game being made, not an actual attempt to add to their lineup. See picrel.
Looks cool. Kinda odd they gave her detailed muscular shins, but everyone has a fetish I suppose.
For me, it's her stomach
That's a Mistwalker game, I don't think Nintendo owns that IP, they just published it
>they published it

Oh, of course, that's why Nintendo owns the rights to Final Fantasy and Square owns the rights to Breath of Fire
he said usually you frickin dingus, and he's right
Thats localization publishing.
what? Square never published Breath of Fire and Square was still the primary publisher of Final Fantasy.
Then how did they end up on the box?
my fault, looked at the wrong game. Turns out they published the US release. But that's different. The DEBUT of the game, in Japan, was from Capcom.
Ok, question I've always had:
Why the hell did Capcom need Square to publish Breath of Fire? They're CAPCOM

i'll be honest, I was gonna put 1080 but couldn't find a png of the logo and figured no one would notice
I really want Puyo Panel Tetris
Is Golden Sun really a franchise? They made two games.
3
3
Cmon, no one acknowledges the third one
Pikmin isn’t dead. They recently had a mobile app and the Deluxe port, and you can say those aren’t mainline new entires, but they obviously have plans to continue the series in the near future.
they even hid little pikmin in their mario theme park
Battalion Wars is a spinoff of Nintendo Wars. Even if it's gonna be shit, Reboot Camp is a new entry in the franchise.
Nintendo knows what's best for their fanbase and franchises.

If anyone liked any of that shit, they should be dead too

All of the ones on this list. Especially Chibi-Robo. Akira Ueda should be given funding to finally make SPACE*AGENCY too.
>sakura note translation never ever
every paper mario game from sticker star onwards should be included in this pic :^)
Hotel dusk/last window
There was no fricking reason why they didn't get re-released on the 3DS and there's so much left on the bone storywise

Mother is over. Go play a Mother-inspired indie game if you want more.
Or just play Dragon Quest.
>Pikmin
Quit the moronic meme already.
If it had a game in the last 10 years it's not dead
A new Startropics would be great.
Is Tsunku still asking people on Twitter to tell Nintendo that they want a new Rhythm Heaven?
Hopefully not, because that might be a sign that one got greenlit

They are only coming back if BlackRock wants Nintendo to bring them back, since Nintendo is BlackRock's b***h.
