First = Great
Second = Kino
Munch's Odyssey = Ludo-Kino-Dissonant Magnum Opus
Stranger's Wrath = Pretty alright
New N Tasty = Catastrophic moronic dogshit that should be avoided at every waking moment of your life as every single cell in your body depends on it otherwise you are exposed to the equivalent of a nuclear atom bomb of dogshit permanently tainting your very being
It's really good, but it's essentially a new game. The original was just a hard version of the first game. The remake, if we even call it that, has a lot more going on for it.
Nah, it's still a lot worse looking than the original, but it doesn't have as much of that nasty overblown bloom and other ugly modern effects NewNTasty abuses. If we're talking purely aesthetics, I would rank Soulstorms far above NNT.
It's great, honestly the best oddworld game I played. This is the version of exodus they wanted to originally make but Sony deemed it's themes way too dark for the time, so we got the game we did back then, but now it's huge and far more gritty and dark then you may remember. The series as a whole has been great (even munches odyssey) & this is one game studio I'm happy to see still operating
>advertisements painted on metal away from mines in original >advertisements on billboards right over mines in remake
it's little shit like this that bothers me bros why can't modern devs use they are brains
Wow its been a dead series for 10 years now. That is a pretty bad remake the frick were they thinking? Wait was this like an XBL game or was it full price.
Do you think they'd miss an opportunity to fleece people by exploiting their nostalgia? Pretty sure it was 30bux at release.
It probably needed to sell like 1000 copies to break even the costs for the Indian sweatshop they hired to make 90% of the game.

Well the IP was dead for ages, normally remakes like this are to see if people want more(at least thats what companies say which is totally moronic). Its just the frick it up 99% of the time.
Imagine making a game whose central theme is dunking on late stage capitalism, and then putting real life advertisements in it.
There's no humans in oddworld by the way, so this ad doesn't even make any sense in universe.
>Imagine making a game whose central theme is dunking on late stage capitalism, and then putting real life advertisements in it.
You are not in good company here, and Lorne Lanning is not at all the kind of person that you think he is.

Not only can I imagine it, I can imagine 23 years ago
The very first odd world game I played with Stanger’s and I loved it. I was a kid so o had no idea what the other odd world games were like. Imagine my fricking disappoint when I finally got a copy Munch.
I tried playing the first one very recently but it felt like it was testing my patience too much so I stopped even though it looks good, I would probably like it had I played it back in the day.
They won't, Lannings wife (believe it or not) was the one to suggest a quintology, Lanning just wanted to finish Abe's side of the story talks of the quintology is very murky in the community, since we all tend to agree an abe/strangers wrath cross over would be kinda lame
I look at some of those old background renders with absolute reverence. Like holy shit, there's so much depth to this, there's a whole world back there. Absolute masters of their craft.
The remake isn't even worth discussing.
I liked Oddysee and I fricking loved Exoddus. The other games don't do it for me though.
That said, I wish they made Sligstorm. A shooter set in Oddworld as a Slig would have been cool. Maybe a Doom mod could bring it about for real? I can't code or make art for shit so someone else has to do it.
As much as it pains me to say it, Lorne needs to get out of the gaming industry. Here's what he should do: >Find a good author >Get his art team together >Sit down with the author and get really high >Spill his guts and tell the author everything he ever thought about doing with the IP >Have the guy start writing oddworld novels >Have your art team publish art books to accompany the novels >Hope that shit catches on
Oddworld is oozing with soul and potential as a setting and at this point I don't think anymore of it can be realized through video games.

Whats wrong with the Remake?
Traded in the beautiful pre-rendered graphics and sprites for absolutely disgusting 3D graphics.
So i guess soulstorm is just as bad?
don't listen to boomers being nostalgic

it looks rubbery, the original was gritty low resolution images. that's literally it
Have you seen the original and the remake? It's immediately apparent within the first few seconds of gameplay.
?t=58
Disgusting remake nuslop shit.

If they used their brains they wouldn't have glowing holographic billboards in a place like Rupture Farms to begin with.
See

Is it really that bad
The very first odd world game I played with Stanger’s and I loved it. I was a kid so o had no idea what the other odd world games were like. Imagine my fricking disappoint when I finally got a copy Munch.

*farts* uhuehuehuehue

Frick New&Tasty and any moron who praises it.
Could never finish any of the games because I couldn't let myself let any of the guys die. funny little games
Is the story super schizo?
It's a little odd.
the schizophrenic EGX 2017 presentation Lorne did was so good im sad they dropped the ball with Soulstorm
Is there any hope for they to ever end the quintology?
Maybe? I assume they're not going to remake Munch so the next step might be an actual new game.
Dont they say that munch is their biggest disappointment?

It's the Mother of point-and-click games.
>I-it's not point and click!
Yes it is you stupid Black person.
>It's the Mother of point-and-click games.
No its not you fricking moron, christ it hardly counts as a point and click game too.
I give it two thumbs up.
