I think its important to mention the origin of LoL and Dota too and how Riot Pendragon who was in charge of the Dota Forums literally yoinked ideas as he closed off the forums like Teemo. LoL wanted to be Dota at first then they pivoted and decided to become their own thing which payed off in dividends and since then its been Riots M.O to steal other game ideas then polish them and release them with their coat of paint (SEE: Valorant and TFT along with the upcoming diablo/PoE clones). back then EVERY Moba was trying to be a successor to dota starting with HoN the first project that IceFrog left to work on which actually was a outright 1:1 of Dota char kits but with new models.
Juggernauts iconic omnislash was first put on Fiora. Kayle is definitely not Venge spirit and Fiddlesticks is Sand King in spirit not Razor. most of these comparisons are just awful and you also forgot Blitzcrank/Pudge hook character the most obvious ones.
Riot in essence strives to keep LoL simple and easy to understand/onboard with a low skill floor while Valve strives to keep building upon the tower of babel of mechanics in a attempt to keep veteran players enticed with offering them new aspects of the game to master. A Rioter a long time ago once made a post about how they design around "the burdern of knowledge" and its funny now if you were to pick up Dota again the game is completely unrecognizable.

AoS played basically nothing like Dota and all the core mechanics and systems we know of as Dota features came from Dota. Dota "copied" a handful of basic fantasy design tropes and had a few stupid anime and video game references and the like, but Riot stole the ENTIRE functional game system from Dota and then copied design tropes infinitely harder than Dota ever did.
