I went for a tradesman theme for the fire one:
Rodentice
Journeager
Masterivet
I’m not as sure what the theme of the grass one is, but I was thinking lilies because they’re funeral flowers:
Lilider
Liloss
Lilament
I thought I would give some more context for the fire type. Its primarily based off s red squirrel that evolves into the Indian giant squirrel. The theme for the starters is more RPG classes. So the Squirrel isa rouge class and more of the engineer/tinkerer subclass. It Uses the berries and specialized acorns it finds to fuel its fire powers, and can even spit them out as fire balls. Its very inquisitive and creative and it's good at improvising explosives with its fire energy. The acorn caps on its head are supposed to resemble goggles. And the cream face pattern its supposed to resemble the faces of engineers who work with ballistics and fire and the accumulated ash that builds up on their face.
The line tells a story of a gifted prodigy that eventfully becomes obsessed with work and starts tinkering with its own body becoming one with the craft it loves. So it gets stylized metal acorn arm cannons to further explore the engineer theme by essentially becoming a cyborg. It's also based of the "small furry critter that's good with machines" trope from various sci-fi based media.
Gets a new attack: >Metal Bombs
Type: Steel
BP: 60
Special
Effect: User throws bombs at the opponents feet dealing damage. Incoming enemies take Fire type damage.
Grass type tells a story too.
First stage is friendly, docile and full of energy. It's so jolly that instead of walking it hops because its full of energy. It wants to eat prey, but the prey it would eat is too big for it. So it mainly relies on photosynthesis and energy from the sun.
Second stage loses a lot of the nergy it has during its first stage and becomes less active and moody. Its now bigger enough to hunt prey but it doesn't have the energy to pursue so now it has adapted to spin sticky silk-like plant fibers from its flower to catch prey. It also seems to carry its prey and keeps it as some sort of toy.
Final stage has little to no energy left, its very reclusive and its body frail. So in order to survive it uses the souls of its previous prey to hunt, defend itself, and for transportation. The web construct is full of the souls of its past prey it now controls using spiritually empower fibers. But it has a soft spot for the souls it keeps, and would never actually put them in harms way, which is why it covers them in its strong silk-like plant fibers. Anything that it doesn't trust happens to touch the web construct becomes overwhelmed with a deep feeling of dread.
Its based on floral mimic spiders, spider lillies, a puppeteer/necromancers (for the mage class), and the Jorogumo yokai.
Gets a new move: >Souldrain Tether
Type: Ghost
BP: --
PP: 10
Status
Effect: User shoots out silk empowered with ominous energy on the enemy side of the field. Incoming enemies can no longer escape for 3 turns, and lose a bit of health every turn they stay in play and the user recovers that health loss. The effects of this move expires after the user faints.
Concept for the Grass line. Its a Puppeteer Joroguro Spider Necromancer that uses it's spiritually enhanced silk like plant fibers to control the body below it. It uses the lower body for offense and defense.
I like the grass one. The fire one looks like video game character though. Also, what typing?

I think the fire one starts off with a very stylized and cutesy face where it looks consistent in the first two stages but the final stage's face doesn't match? I'm not sure how to fix it since I completely get what you're going for but it seems to go from fairly cartoony proportions and features to more 'realistic' ones so it looks a bit out of place.
The grass one is really creative though, good job OP
if the right one still had a normal hand and then one acorn cannon bolt thing on the other arm it would look more stylish, also the acorns on its head should become goggles
The spider is fantastic.
The rabbit looks atrocious.
It's genuinely surprising these were made by the same person. I'm not trying to discourage you here, I really like the spider, but holy shit dude what are those arms and that tail
Try to make the shape of each starters head unique from one another. Right now they're both just squashed ovals with things added on. It gives more identity.
I think both final evos are based and especially the grass one is some real king shit, shame gamefreak would never make a starter like that
Not a big fan of the preevos though
I don't like the things on the fire ones head.
how does assdeergay draw so much slop yet not even remotely improve
fr fr y'all Gamefreak is heckin so much better
this but unironically
No cap cuh I don't even see a meme face and it's not based on an object or food!
Wrenches and bolts are objects, spiders are food
I like them a lot. Fire one is very cool.
Second evos

close, but its inspired by classic video game engineer class. It can use the acorns it carries as bombs.

Essentially sets up a Fire type Stealth Rock.

Spidainty
Parasider
Silkubus
Rotinker
Squivent
Nutillery

cordyceps Fungus infected spider
Meant to reply here. But as for typings.
Fire > Fire/Steel
Grass > Grass/Ghost
But I am considering making the grass type part Bug type but changes to Ghost on the final evo.
I think that's a great idea. Love the design.
>Also, what typing?
since they're starters only
have secondary types
Both seem pretty cool, though I must say this little guy came to mind when I saw that fire starter.
funny, the engineer pokemon reminded you of the spy.
Smallder and Sassyfras
Kindlet and Shyder
Furrnace and Ventreeloqui
>Her smile and optimism: gone
too big headed
they look like Snorks
No one here will no what the frick a Snork is, grandpa.
final evos Fire/Steel and Grass/Ghost
Left is shit
Right is SEX

It's a good concept, but something about it misses me. Maybe I have trouble telling where the body ends and the puppet begins.
What is that white colour spider like thing beside the green jumping spider?
Literally my mom's Rakna Kadaki
I didn't really like how the fire one came out but the grass one looks very interesting.

I thought about that, but wasn't a fan of the asymmetry.

I like my engineer squirrel.
OH NO NO NO LOOK AT HIS ARMS
>his
Red
Pseudo goggles
Big hands
Hmm…
I think its the body shape/head shape/size of the first one that's an issue. It looks like that rabbit pokemon. The other ones are great
Scorbunny?
So cute that i never would let them evolve
>They also need names
trevor for the red one
eugene for the green one
I would choose the third option
Litnutt
Bloompider/Scuttlesprout
