Hated it
Gen 8 has overall been the worst Pokemon gen, and all 3 of its entries have been awful
Loved it.
First gen I have liked in nearly a decade.
Best gameplay mechanics in a mainline Pokemon game, but the overworld was empty and the plot was practically non-existent.
is the gameplay strong enough to ignore how empty it is, or do we just wait for those mechanics to show up in a mainline title?
Not really. I personally got bored of the loop and dropped it after the first area.
It gets stale once you arrive at the third area.
Hopefully, scarlet/violet incorporate and balance out a lot of the mechanics introduced in PLA.
Loved playing it
but it's garbage
you just have no reason to boot the game after finishing it... unlike any Pokemon game
while the maingame has big ameliorations and is probably the most polished in the series
it just doesn't have content dude, it's not worth it
also the battle system is complete garbage
I regret buying it tbhu
we're waiting
>plot was practically non-existent.
so like every pokemon game?
Not him but yes. That's why I can barely remember the "plot" of any pokemon game after Gen 3. It's always either the same shit they've been doing for decades or completely nonsensical when they actually do try something new.
SM had a memorable plot. i liked nebby and disliked lusamine
bunch of missed potential, like why weren't ultra beasts and the tapus more central to the plot and where did the fricking flutes come from, but otherwise it was enjoyable
Let's go for Zoomers
Let's Go was for zoomers though...
The first real breath of fresh air the series has seen since Colosseum
I enjoyed it, disliked very few things about it, but for some reason have no desire to replay it
Honestly, I really do think it was the worst Pokemon game I have ever played, and I really don't understand why people praise it
stockholm syndrome, paid gf shills, coping seething trannoids, peer pressure
Pretty great but I can see why people get bored once they finish every mission in this game. I'm still enjoying shiny hunting but I know that's not for everyone
I was gonna buy it until I saw how empty it is.
Also I wanted to play with Decidueye, but then the Hisuian form was revealed...
Hopefully they learn from this and make another one and put more landmarks and locations.
Unsurprisingly sold less than BDSP.
Didn't like it
Best mainline game since B2W2.
sold it before finishing it
worst pokemon game by far
Imagine seething this much over a game you never afforded to own
>most ugliest
I enjoyed it, but wow it sure is rough around the edges. Could not have had a more dull start. All of the cutscenes & dialogue really dragged. They did make it very fun sneaking around & snagging pokemon.
I enjoyed it more than sword & shield, but less than mystery dungeon DX.
I'm halfway through playing it but I can't get to that mental point where I feel invested and engaged in a game
The best Pokemon game
It doesn't hold a candle to Explorers of Sky.
I liked it, but I never bothered playing that much to complete the dex after beating the final boss. I never did many of the sidequests either, since there didn't seem to be much of a point to them.
It was good. Definitely lacked polish and substance but I can appreciate it as a proof of concept. It's wildly different from previous games in the series and I really like that. There's a lot here that works really well and should definitely be incorporated into all games going forward. It feels great exploring and interacting with the world with your Pokemon. A game built around catching instead of battling is inherently interesting to me so I was totally on board for that. And I don't feel strongly about the changes they made to the battling but I appreciate they were willing to change it as much as they did, some of the changes work really well within the game itself.
frostbite seems like a huge improvement over freeze because special attackers have had it too good for too long.
fart in the wind
Should I just give in and import my mons from Home so I can fight arceus and put this game in the shelf?
It was basically the Dark Souls of Pokémon.
God I wish soulsgays would all die.
Fromsoft needs to make Armored Core again.
Maybe if it were as good as souls games or even a little bit engaging they’d do it justice and make a modern AC game but alas, it is pure autismware
Needed more time in the oven like everything in gen 8, but this game had the most potential of them all. I still play it because the gameplay is solid and catching pokemon is so damn fun. Pulling off trick shots is awesome
filler garbage
The first genuinely bad Pokemon game. Not underwhelming, not content-light. BAD. Change for the sake of change. The gameplay is absolutely awful. The turn-based battles somehow have LESS depth than ever before since none of the trainers pose even a remote threat you you and wild Pokemon are 100% avoidable. Catching mechanics feel barely more fleshed out than a "NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN" unity engine game demo from 2011. The dodge-throw-repeat formula for boss fights feels like someone said "we have to add real-time combat to Pokemon" and they just went with the first idea someone blurted out. The presentational quality is the lowest it's even been but it's fast so I guess people with no attention span like it. The Strong/Agile style system is completely devoid of depth. Completing the Pokedex requires shallow, repetitive busywork for each entry that makes it feel like a $60 mobile game. There are no interesting locations. I do not feel like I've been on an adventure by the end. There are no memorable characters. There is nothing interesting to do.
>Change for the sake of change
even though pretty much every change it makes is an objective improvement? lmao
this game really revealed the shiteaters in this fanbase, probably the DSgay zoomers who think the stagnated copy/pasted gameplay is well designed.
>even though pretty much every change it makes is an objective improvement?
No they weren't
I saw Pokemon the First Movie in theaters.
One of the worst games
Why are people obsessed with making the same fricking threads asking for "thoughts" or "its good/bad"
People want to talk about things.
Discord troons like stirring shit
