Take it out back and put it out of its misery.
Or maybe don't, I'm scared to discover what manner of creature has been distilled inside that ever-shrinking containment zone.
While WoD and BfA were huge low points, I could still say they had WoW's 'identity'. Unfortunately, that identity died out when they had to oust the old guard. Mechanically, the game's probably better off now, but the new team's 'lore' additions suck ass. No matter how much the game improves, I can't bring myself to care about the characters or story anymore. It's literally not muh warcraft.
They lost it somewhere during the course of Cata-Wrath-MoP honestly. Something about the textures and models then was just rougher overall, it felt like they old Samwise artwork was just being turned into 3D models
Also one thing that I notice sets apart modern WoW and old Samwise WC3/WoW is that the old gear and shit, while it had its realistic parts, wasn't afraid to go full crazy with the power rangers shit. Armor had weird angles, even cloth (like the hooded guy in that picture) was angled and bent like it was from some edgy comic.
The modern stuff looks like any mobile game or pixar movie, inoffensive, very plain relatively speaking and putting way too much focus on being sleek rather than being bold. Someone like the Lich King looked like a walking fricking painting even when you saw him in-game.
I disagree, but the point is moreso that when you got the big special characters showing up they looked stand-out as hell. Back in the day you'd actually believe Illidan was a final boss just because he looked as if he was plucked straight out of the promotional art.
Most bosses in WoW can't attest to that nowadays.
Cataclysm era set alot of low standards I felt the game wouldn't recover from, so I quit about halfway through Pandas.
I always wonder from time to time how things are now but hearing how everything is at Activision and Blizzard I can only imagine things being worse.
I like the world, I wish it was used for literally anything besides an MMO. Vanilla/Classic was the best experience of the game, no game should be played forever and that version of the game was enough for me. Give me a game with dragons dogma combat in a singleplayer/coop game in Warcrafts world and Ill die happy. I want an RPG in this universe that isnt an MMO.
If classic was a one time payment or F2P and had the modern graphical update, I would probably still play it and do goof runs etc.
>If classic was a one time payment or F2P and had the modern graphical update
Honestly, this would be great. Classic/WotLK being a one-time purchase or free for past subscribers would get me back on their servers... but, it's not, so I dick around on Ascension.
At this point the only people still playing wow are maladapted validation seekers with no capacity to self reflect.
If I had a button I could push that would throw everyone with a wow sub into an inescapable dumpster, I would push it every day, and I would improve video game culture each and every press.
I wish it didn't exist.
Love me private servers

Love me retail up to the end of legion

Simple as
Forgot points about stringing people along with FOMO and removing content rewards, but pretty much hit the nail on the head.
ffxiv killed it
it killed itself, 14 isn't relevant outside of japan
Hasn't been good since vanilla.
one of the best South park episodes

The new artstyle just looks awful. It looks like some weird tumblr fetish art
I like how this looks, outside of the blue elf
This is a horrible direction to take the game, holy shit. It's all so soft and inoffensive. Where's the savagery and edge the series was known for?

the LK model never fit the game at all

Classic was fun, took me 500 hours to reach 60
Should have stopped after WotLK. All downhill from there. Pandaria was beautiful, at least.
replaying WotLK, I remember now why I quit playing during this expansion the first time

I don't really like it. I like some of the lore & designs, but it's all surrounded by such homosexualy shit that I can't really bring myself to care.
I've started playing Guild Wars 2. It's pretty cool.
Trying the other races. Man, I wish the Orks were like these guys.
Luv classic
'ate everythin else

It's not fun anymore, troony game.
Why are you fabricating screenshots?
Sylvanas did Everything Wrong
But she is Girlboss, so for the writers, she did nothing wrong.
favorite fat youtuber playing again

Instead of focusing on more WoW content, they focused on balancing the game for eSports.
WoTLK was the beginning of this degeneration
Arena PvP and eSports was the end of the Everquest style MMORPG for WoW.
Now its just a single player run through and weekly generated epic item.
