>All the units have active abilities. >troony UI >moronic control scheme. >moronicly fast TTK >Bad Pathfinding.
What the frick were they doing for the past year?
Many active abilities worked in DoK because the scale of the engagements was smaller and it was manageable to quickly swap your attention between one group then another. It allowed for cool tactics like using the tanks' smoke screen offensively against railguns, ultramobile on the spot covering fire or area denial because your anti air was also your artillery and other tricks.
The low time to kill was also manageable for the same reason but in the vastness of space nobody hears a kushan scream because fleet command is busy elsewhere.
Nta, and while there is nothing wrong with active abillities, I think that every unit abillity being [stat] gets bosted for [seconds] is uncreative, specialy when it was a proven concept in DoK. It would be fine for few units, but being able to smoke screen in fricking space would be better(I dont give a shit about realismgay pseuds).
Just call the space smoke an ECM field or some shit.
I like active abilities that you pop in certain situations occasionally. The ones that you pop 100%of the time on cooldown would be better as passives.
I don't think anyone has a problem with specific abilities. For example a stealth ship having the ability to turn invisible is an active ability but that is a meaningful tactical decision so it's fine to have.
However when every ship has it's own little bullshit APM tax ability where you have to switch over to them and activate it every 30 seconds to do better in the battle you are in the entire game becomes dogshit.
Turns out the delay was always happening. Amazon sent out notifications to people that pre ordered the game a week ago about the new release date.
The listening to feedback shit is pure PR SPIN
Nothing can delay it far enough solution, far enough together,
As the pathfinding's so shite,
Shite enough to trash it in.
Nothing can bridge our fans' devotion fast enough together,
As the money proves them right,
Right enough to let you beg'em.

You can literally boot HW 2 and see the difference there is almost none, morons are just getting filtered, and they either never played the OG games or dont remember it because they were kids
Default sensibility/speed for rotation, translation and zoom is all fricked (too high/too low), strangely limiting max zoom out distance, requiring RMB or alt to do camera stuff because they really really really wanted QWERT+ASDFG to be two contiguous rows of bindings is plainly idiotic
Dumbs don't change their default settings and trash the system based on that + BBI are being tards about keybinds again?
Could this explain the persistent complains about the control scheme? I can't play this demo to see for myself. Is anon having troubles with the third dimension?
I just finished the tutorial (tried the shitty "modern" controls) and it's amazing how much worse this is at almost everything than a game from TWENTY FIVE (25) years ago. Like I had a bad feeling about it ever since the first trailers (and the HW1 remaster shitshow) but by god I did not expect it to suck so badly
I look at gameplay videos and i see people looking at the battlefield from underneath, aligning their camera with plane of engagement and doing all sorts of weird shit. What are they doing?
Examples
It could range from they being complete morons and blundering through the controls or they are doing that to get better a better view considering the 3d structures and shit.
You can actually miss on some perk points in the roguelite mode because they are hidden from your units sensors by the terrain.
They gave us an FPS camera in an RTS that's what.
But really, people harp on about the 3D movement of the old games but the maps were empty space so elevation didn't matter and everyone played it like a regular flat RTS. At most an enemy group or a resource asteroid would be placed below the center plane but again, the map was empty so it was easy to see everything.
In HW3 there is geometry all over the place with tunnels, debris blocking the view, a unit can spring out of a hole from within a structure. It's more complex for an RTS and it's harder to control.
>They gave us an FPS camera in an RTS that's what.
tThey give you two options, try using the classic one that is like the originals if that is a problem
>March status: DD 2
>May status: HW 3
Based filteredgays, saving my backlog
Status: Over, Dead
There he is, the local schizo.

What were they thinking

That's what you all get. He told us space was shit.
Well then i'm going back to Kharak. Ah shit i can't.
I bought Dok on steam
Was unable to play it due to some menu UI bug
Was unable to refund it
Modern games are just scams
work on my machine

100% for the best. That shit was not ready.
I'm curious about what feels so different about the controls for you? I am seeing this sentiment a lot but the controls feel very similar to me.

What's wrong with the controls in details? Best adjectives i got were sluggish and "feels bad" well great criticism there, not.
Now it's at least not sharing a release date with Unicorn Overlord. yay for me
DON'T OPEN THIS, IT'S A LITTLE GIRL RUBBING HER dicky
What happened?
I asked them to delay the game so I could play DD 2 in march

Wait a fricking minute.
When did they add Denuvo?
