I played Witcher 1 when it came out and tbh Witcher 2 was a massive improvement, albeit short. People would not shut up about the choices and split paths, and it's the only reason 3 got any eyes on it.
i've only played 1 and 2, 3 is still in my to do list
1 is as eurojank as it gets, full of bugs but none of them game breaking as far as i remember. There are however a few things that happen out of order. The way some events are conveyed really shows their budget/technical limitations, but it's pretty charming
I find the gameplay and story of 1 more interesting, and you have the liberty of creating absolutely busted builds from the skill tree
Witcher 2 is a waaaay more polished and it's closer to being a AAA game, at the cost of feeling slightly more limited and streamlined
It's best experienced by playing it twice for both routes
If you can tolerate eurojank I'd recommend 1, then 2 if you liked the story and characters
2 is my favorite but it was my first, couldn't get past the menu of 1 and 3 is just alright. I finished 3 before the DLC and could never get back into it to finish the DLC >which is supposedly the best from 3
make of that what you will
I don't care for The Witcher. For me the story ended with The Witcher 3. I don't need more Witcher games. I am super excited for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion and for any new Cyberpnk games. >inb4 REEEEEEEEEEEEEE shazam REEEEEEEEEE you are not allowed to like cyberpunk REEEEEEEEE
>Long-Term outlook >from the same company that failed to deliver on nearly all of their Cyberpunk plans
This company has a hard-on for calendars and sticky notes and nothing else.
It's the only thing they have the money for after Cyberpunk flopped and the anime taking up millions in budget because the Witcher franchise is propped up solely by Polish government money (because Poland has nothing else that anyone knows)

>mfw I'm actually having fun playing Cyberpunk
I went in with low expectations and was surprised by the amount of shit you can do in combat, feels like an expanded combat system based on Deus Ex. The open world is kind of disappointing tho, for a what is supposed to be gigantic city it feels mostly empty even with crowd density maxed out. The game is neither a masterpiece or terrible, it's a great game with some problems.
Same, played it last month. It has quite a few small problems and a few big ones, but overall it ended up as a really fun game. Hope the dlc fixes at least some of those problems.
Cyberpunk is CDPR first good game
The world is a lifeless as in Witcher, but that defies the expectations of GTA world. The gameplay is already far superior
Id like to say that i enjoyed it but i downloaded it after the patch that apparently fixed it, but it still wouldnt play. I had a pretty high end rig too
They should make a Cyberpunk trilogy and Hadar
Why make more Witcher after Geralt?
Even then, Sirius and the remake are already enough, the former for the novelty of multiplayer which could be interesting. 5 Witcher games without the main draw of Witcher (Geralt and the cast of characters revolving around him and the politics)? People will grow tired of it.
They never said they were done with Witcher, but with Geralt story.
CDPR was never good
Witcher 2 was buggy and the combat sucked, it got by on the strength of the writing taken from the book
Witcher 3 was ubisoft-tier garbage
Cyberpunk barely qualifies as a video game
Frick these talentless hacks and every moron that talked up their games
>Sirius is a multiplayer/singleplayer Witcher game, but apparently still with a story and quests >Polaris is Witcher 1 2 but you make your own Geralt >Canis Majoris is Witcher 1 remake
Absolutely ridicolous, not a single soul said "Yes, I want more Witcher games after Geralt story is over". They really are investing too much on Witcher
But Final Fantasy main strength is that it's a bunch of disconnected worlds and storylines and not just a coherent single world. We already saw all but three kingdoms of the Witcher, excluding Thronebreaker. The setting is losing its novelty already
Do studios not know how to put and end to a franchise anymore?
You can make it so that the name of a franchise implies something in the story, that once it ends, so does the franchise, but the characters still exist and you can start something new with them instead.
>3 new
>one is a remake of Witcher 1 by a subdivision of CDPR
>one is a 3rd party fan service
>only one is actually a new sequel
>>one is a remake of Witcher 1 by a subdivision of CDPR
>>one is a 3rd party fan service
other way around
watch them all be card/mobile games
if I was only ever going to play one, whch witcher would you say is the best?
1 if you like RPGs
3 overall
2 if you're insane
Frick off. 1 is fine but if you like good games at all you should play 2 and 3.
For years Witcher 2 was one of the most popular games on Ganker and constantly cited as an example of best game ever made. What changed?
It became popular

jank is kino, love it when the seams of the world start to show. i'll check it out

Read the books and then do something else.

>inb4 REEEEEEEEEEEEEE shazam REEEEEEEEEE you are not allowed to like cyberpunk REEEEEEEEE
with 10000000% more Black folk and trannies
>OC protagonist
Don't care about bootleg Elden Ring, still patiently waiting for Cyberpunk Orion because Night City has more SOVL than all of Witcher
>Long-Term outlook
>from the same company that failed to deliver on nearly all of their Cyberpunk plans

They know their marketing
It's the only thing they have the money for after Cyberpunk flopped and the anime taking up millions in budget because the Witcher franchise is propped up solely by Polish government money (because Poland has nothing else that anyone knows)
How's that a bad thing? The Witcher games are great. Have some optimism for once you moron doomposter.
>The Witcher games are great.
Lmao
Exactly the same
they need a steady revenue stream since they shit the bed with cp2077
>before cyberpunk

Id be down for a witcher game based around the time witchers were first created along with a custom protag
>>WE ARE DONE WITH WITCHER
they never said this. they said they were done with geralt.

It's actually 5.
LMAO
If nothing else, I appreciate CDPR for pre-emptively nuking all future shilling for their games with this one video.
homie FRICK CYBERDUMP
where did they get all the money to make so many new gam--.. ah yes, Larry Fink
and the homie that made the first three witchers edible is gone
its unironically over
>Toss a coin to your Witcher
>He REALLY REALLY fricking needs it
well yeah, with unreal engine you can shit out soulless games pretty quick
>Sirius is a multiplayer/singleplayer Witcher game, but apparently still with a story and quests

I've heard that before.
>FINAL fricking Fantasy have like few dozen games already
I understand where you are going but it is not unheard for developers to be like that.
But Final Fantasy main strength is that it's a bunch of disconnected worlds and storylines and not just a coherent single world. We already saw all but three kingdoms of the Witcher, excluding Thronebreaker. The setting is losing its novelty already
What does the CP in CP77 stand for?
All updated for modern audiences
Shazamtrannies were right all along

Sirius will most likely be coop and Monster Hunter inspired
The job listing mentioned procedurally generated levels
