The same parched boomers that are probably looking forward to this as a stop gap until the next TES. I'm certainly interested to see how both this and Starfield turn out. Pillars 1 was great and the lore is interesting, but if Avowed is just Outer Worlds in a Pillars skin I'm not that interested. Bethesda on the other hand sounds like they're putting back in some RPG depth with Starfield, after years of stripping it out.
If you're a TES fan you should just play Kingdom Come and enjoy 100+ hours of comfy historical kino.
Kingdom Come didn't land for me, but I am looking forward to Avowed for the reasons you stated. A nice little fantasy FP RPG to tide me over on the long wait to TES6.
>Pillars 1 was great and the lore is interesting
The lore of Pillars is what made me hate the game. It's absolute rubbish with how it handles a concept like reincarnation. Completely missing the mark. And then there is that fucking green giant Dr Manhattan in the sequel. Garbage games.
I would want nothing more than new Dark Messiah or Arx Fatalis, but considering how utterly pathetically trash Outer Worlds was, the odds of that are slim to none.
this basically. Depressing.

Obsidian had next to nothing to do with Outer Worlds, though. Boyarsky and Cain were contracted from the outside, as the "true creators of Fallout", and they brought in a bunch of their own people.
[...]
Outer Worlds was just yet another proof that bringing back "legendary" developers, and giving them full creative freedom, does not guarantee success.
Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky as lead developers... and look what shit is churned out.
At least Boyarsky, in the interviews I've read/watched, seems to be dissatisfied with the product.
They didn't have full creative freedom. >I miss making a game without so much advanced planning and constant oversight. It’s weird, I hope I don’t depress anyone who wants to get in the games industry, but even now, after 41 years, I have people second-guessing everything I do.
In the Fallout post mortem Tim Cain did in 2012, he basically talks about how the game was a janky amalgamation of ideas and features contributed by all kinds of different guys at Interplay. All he did was start working on a game engine and everyone else contributed essentially everything. The aesthetic was created by the artists, the talking heads were created by one guy who had already been working on his weird claymation heads. The companions were added in at the last minute.
Point is that nobody actually "created" Fallout. It was a product of the environment of Interplay in the 90s. Nobody can replicate that.
I look at this image and have hopes for someone finally creating a great game in the TES formula. But then I also know that it's going to be pozzed from top to bottom with garbage political statements shoved in my face like every other piece of modern day media when I'm just trying to enjoy a fantasy game
>I was one of the cringe retards claiming outer worlds would force bethesda to change
Embarrassing looking back.

Why are they taking so long to release this vaporware? This is the timewindow they needed, before Starfield while Bethesda is away from the highlights.
Can we finally see something about this game or nah? I don't mind shadow releases, cool, don't build up unecessary hype, Obsidian has been great on that regard. But a trailer or two by now would be nice.
>got excited for pillars of eternity >hated it >got my hopes up for outer worlds >hated it
this game is going to be the most disappointing game in history. it will disappoint people who never thought it was going to be good in the first place.
As a TES fan, I'd love for more franchises to copy their style. Thing is, even if Bethesda are fucking hacks, they're not just the only ones doing it, they're also the only ones who've proven they can do it right. EXCEPT for Obsidian. So yeah if this game ever comes out and it's not shit, cool. But at the moment we've only had one trailer that at best only shows fake gameplay. This might as well be vaporware at this point, and you could say the same thing about TES VI, but TES is already a successful franchise so we know that game will eventually come out.
It surprises me that there are still people that keep sucking Obsidian’s dick after the Blunder World. They got too cocky with NV fame and now they paid the price. Bethesda always has the last laugh
the reason Skyrim is great is because of NPCs like Nazeem:
-He doesn't give you any quests
-He threats you derisively whenever he sees you
-He has his daily schedule that serve no ultimate purpose other than love for life
An inferior "skyrim killer" game like Elden Ring couldn't have that, NPCs must exist for the player's sake alone and whenever they're not needed they die or disappear
>TES killer is here!!!
The clueless morons infesting this board don't understand why Bethesda is the only developer that's been successful in making these kinds of games.
Competition for Bethesda would be exciting, but Avowed will most likely, unfortunately, fall short.
I have zero expectations I just recently tried Outer Worlds because I got a free trial for gamepass and I was so fucking bored.
The game is so fucking bland and boring. I have never played anything so mediocre
It's strange there's such a lack of Skyrimlikes when you could have easily copied Skyrim in all this time waiting for the next TES and gotten a free audience, and you can even improve on their gameplay since it's so barebones.
I've been having fun with tainted grail the fall of avalon despite it being early access. I hope they fix performance, but I like the gameplay, world and lore
Gameplay is slightly improved Skyrim combat
>when you could have easily copied Skyrim >easily
It's incredible how people underestimate Skyrim
There are ZERO open world games that come close to it exploration and immersion wise.
No other game has been able to replicate the feeling I get when I'm jogging up a hill in Skyrim and look up at the auroras in the night sky while the soundtrack is playing. Shit's fucking magical.
The sheer size and scope of a game like Skyrim is almost impossible for a small team to do just from a monetary standpoint. Just the world itself is so massive that it would take indie devs decades to do it so they don't.
>when you could have easily copied Skyrim
the creation engine is a buggy piece of shit but its the only engine that can handle a skyrim like game, bethesda haved worked 2 decades on it for the sole purpose of making massive singleplayer open world rpgs
you cant do that stuff with unreal and no company is willing to spend a hundred million to build a competitive engine from scratch
95% of the work need to make a TES game involves setting up the jigsaw pieces and level editing in such a manner where its actually possible too create such a monstrosity that is TES3 to TES5.
The closest you get is
Never played Gothic, huh.
or something like Outward, which fundamentally lack the design goals to even attempt the same.
Outside of some minor advances, level creation kits are still stuck at the stasis level they where in early 2000s, with some minor improvement.
We literally dont even care.
>trying to start a flamewar against parched boomers who haven't had a new game in twelve years
This game won't ever come out.
Also , what the fuck are you doing moron, TES is not even a thing as of now.
The same parched boomers that are probably looking forward to this as a stop gap until the next TES. I'm certainly interested to see how both this and Starfield turn out. outer worlds was mediocre, obsidian is full of trannies and blacks now, the company is dead

Holy fucking cope.
>contractors brought in their own employees
Maybe you should try getting a job
That pic is unfair, these designs are like that due to engine limitations.
Same engine
Different console generations.
Lower potential graphical fidelity doesn't force a shit aesthetic. gays do.
I want every single one of these characters to deep throat me
>Unreal Engine
yikes
even that shit looks pretty dated
It's fully customizable, of course it'll look one generation behind
>Gamebryo
The ugliest engine ever made.
Sorry sister, it's Creation Engine 2
actually, it's NetImmerse
i liked this game and ellie was a qt and sometimes the dialogue made me laugh
Yep Obsidian died with Avellone
Tes 6 is coming out in 5 years at the earliest. I‘m sure bethesdrones would love a game like this to scratch their itch in the meantime
post the devs
that sword model looks uninspired much like a bioware game
>uncreative "-ed" game title
already a bad sign
It’s coming in 2029, keep the line xbros!
So is this still getting made?
If it's not at the upcoming MS showcase it's dead, Jim.
Phil recently said he played an early build
lmao imagine thinking this trash has any chance of dethroning any ES game

That's right, Avowed will kill TES just like Outer Worlds killed Fallout.
>I was one of the cringe retards claiming outer worlds would force bethesda to change
Embarrassing looking back.
Outer Worlds was my very last leap of faith mulligan for Obsidian. No more.

I'm sure Bethesda are quaking in the boots given how well obsidian's Fallout killer turned out
Can we finally see something about this game or nah? I don't mind shadow releases, cool, don't build up unecessary hype, Obsidian has been great on that regard. But a trailer or two by now would be nice.
>Worst possible predictions concerning avowed?
it will be like Oblivion mixed with dragon age 2.
>Oblivion mixed with dragon age 2
Honestly doesn't even sound bad so long as it doesn't take its story writing from DA2
Avowed more like Avoid lmao rekt put this thread past page 10
Fuck this game, give me Pillars 3 instead.
>Pillars 3
It will be pozzed
I don't care as long as the gameplay is on the same level.
Sad.
>got excited for pillars of eternity
>hated it
>got my hopes up for outer worlds
>hated it
this game is going to be the most disappointing game in history. it will disappoint people who never thought it was going to be good in the first place.
outer worldsbros where are you? why fallout isn't killed yet?

I yawn

The core appeal of TES is its schizo lore and no game made by a modern AAA studio will be able to replicate that
will it have better porn mods ?

This game will suck and even you know it deep down.
No one can make a game like Skyrim except Bethesda themselves.
No hope
dismiss him as a companion and then kill him, you retard
It surprises me that there are still people that keep sucking Obsidian’s dick after the Blunder World. They got too cocky with NV fame and now they paid the price. Bethesda always has the last laugh
No 3rd person no buy
>announced 2 years ago
Ah, yes, can't wait for this game that will never come out, just like Fable and Perfect Dark!
Avowed
Deep Down
Dragon Quest III Remake
Dungeon Hero: A Dungeon Tale
The Stomping Land
Go ahead and add it to the list of RPGs that are never getting released,
Fable
>Obsidian games after Outer Worlds
Hey, Grounded is fun.
>another skyrim clone that misses the point and focuses on combat exclusively
yep, it's gonna bomb just like kingdom come
>yep, it's gonna bomb just like kingdom come
So a good game?

KC is great despite its combat,it's a beautiful comfy game straight from history books
>after the baldur's gate killer and the fallout killer, obsidian is making the tes killer
Third time for sure kek
>TES killer is here!!!

No, I don't play ugly 2000's eurojank and refuse to get memed into doing so.
You're just afraid of getting your ass kicked.
besides the controls the game is fun until you get towards the end then it sucks just like all eurojank games

Are you that retard who keep making these shitty Dark Messiahs bait threads?
