Based. AC3 predicted a lot of technology that we're getting now.

A lot of that was already predicted decades before AC3 though.

It’s unironically the best light shooter to this day and I’ve played them all. Just too lazy to frick around with the foot pedal every time.

    >Best gun controller ever made
The Guncon 2 is slightly better. Maybe not in terms of aesthetics but in terms of accuracy.

The GunCon 2 looks like Deckard's LAPD 2019 Blaster from Bladerunner so it gets a pass, though I still prefer the original myself.

I've used dozens of lightguns, what matters the most is shape. The guncon 1 is the best gun, it fits the best in the hand and the sights are clear. Second best is the Namco arcade gun, just because it's too heavy for extended use and the sights are too high. Third is the Konami Justifier used for lethal enforcer's home ports on the SNES and MD. Guncon 2 is the most accurate console gun, but it's weird to hold, probably like 6th place.

I think it says a lot that the series never "faltered" besides the shitty Rush FPS campaign for 4, it just faded into irrelevancy due to lightguns being shuddered out of gaming mainstream.

You forgot that Time Crisis is so great that Capcom fumbled so hard with all those Resident Evil 4 prototypes that they ended up just copying Time Crisis "American badass one man army MC must infiltrate a castle and island to rescue the president's abducted daughter held up in a clock tower". And tell me Ada Wong isn't just a Kantaris rip off!

Pretty sure the 1up gun is just a licensed sinden. It's total cheap garbage, the "recoil" is that thing you find in toy guns where the trigger pulls a spring back.

Hmmm, I think this track is definitely inspired by whatever Nobuo used for The Landing in FFVIII too..

Apparently The Landing is not an original work, it was influenced by something else. I suspect it's the same work involved in that theme. It's probably so good japanese just can't help it, perhaps not even doing it on purpose or just rearranging it because it kicks so much ass.

For everything popular, Namco never gets enough credit.
    >Tower of Druraga's protagonist predated the debuting Hero from DQ1
    >Baraduke predated Metroid as first action female protagonist
    >Namco made the Outfoxies, a casual platform fighter where you don't have to be well versed in fighters to be good at, much before Smash.
and much recently, this bombshell was translated in English.

      >this shmup game is the reason why i made their near-futurist, bug-catching, kaiju-fighting semi-linear RPG existed!

There's a documentary out there with Yu Suzuki saying how jealous he was when Namco released Winning Run 2 years ahead of his Virtua Racing, apparently Virtua Racing took almost 6 years to make
And then Starblade did the same with Sega's Star Wars Arcade.
And then Ridge Racer embarrassed Sega completely

this is just a western point of ignorance. namco golden age is very respected in japan and druaga/xevious remain top games. druaga funnels into all action rpgs. xevious was the benchmark for many years.

TC is great, but I always preferred Virtua Cop. It just felt more fair in general, TC is constantly throwing red c**ts at you to take a life off you. For me, it's VC>TC>HotD.

Namco and Sega were both amazing in the 90s. It's sad to see what they've become.

Namco not only pioneered 3D graphics in videogames (Winning Run 1989) but also textured 3D graphics in videogames (Ridge Racer 1993). They can't stop winning.

    >Game is so great that Kojima rips off its final boss' entire demeanor, fashion style, immortality, preference in older firearms and even amputated-and-replaced-arm trope to create Revolver Ocelot
Wouldn't put it past Kojima since he basically rips off old Hollywood action movies and anime.
    >Game is so great that Capcom ripped off its entire setting and plot to create Resident Evil 4
Huh?, it's not as if "group kidnaps girl, special agent has to save her" is an uncommon story.
    >Best gun controller ever made, designed to look like an actual gun with no fricks given towards oversensitive parents, just to put hair in the player's chest

      >Huh?, it's not as if "group kidnaps girl, special agent has to save her" is an uncommon story.
One-man-army special agent wearing a cool jacket and armed with a pistol sets out to save the president's daughter who's been kidnapped by a mysterious armed group hired by an evil tyrant who's the last descendant of his family, and taken to a castle full of mechanical traps and hidden passages somewhere in Europe. Said agent is also so skilled in firearms training that he can shoot incoming dangerous objects out of the air.
Swap mercenaries with cultists high on umbrella merch and it's the same game.
