Hey, 4 had some good parts. I liked the crafting/modding part, though was sad when there was no weapon degradation.
The settlements were an okay idea, but Bethesda kinda dropped the ball on it.

the settlements were just a way to make the crafting system more convenient and felt like it was required to make endgame crafting bearable
the actual story and questing in fo4 is really, really bad
it took me 5 years of not touching the game after i got pissed after stumbling on red tourette killing her because she auto-aggro'd, looking her up on the wiki thinking it was a bug because she had a name that sounded like a quest npc, and learning through the wiki that it's a half-baked "raiders are lying about the safety of a prisoner for extortion" skin on top of the same raiders with zero agency or interactivity beyond reading a fricking terminal. was the first time i stopped playing
Only way I can have fun with 4 is Horizon overhaul and interacting as little as possible with the settlements. It's nice not having to wander around picking up trash to upgrade my shit when Wilson just does it for you outside specific items.
The gold isn't even the most profitable item in Dead Money. After you beat the DLC, you can get free repair kits. All you need to do is repair a dead enemy's equipment and you'll eventually end up with a stockpile worth several hundred thousand caps if you do it consistently.
Gib Elijah's corpse, put gold into it, drag to holographic barrier then run like hell until your reach other side. Or just type tcl into console, pass Elijah and go to vault's exit.

The only "mistake" made at Bittersprings was the NCR yet again half assing the fricking job like always and having a bleeding heart like Hsu in a position of command to stop first recon from solving the Khan problem for everyone.

Let's recap what this group's "glory" is, coming out of the same vault as the people of Shady Sands these frick wits decide instead of building anything they'll just act like a bunch of c**ts, slinging drugs, kidnapping, pillaging etc. Along comes The Vault Dweller who shits stomps them because they kidnapped Tandi. Now after getting their teeth kicked in and wiped out what happens? Well the only surviving member holds a grudge against Tandi and starts harassing and attacking the budding NCR all because "boohoo my druggie thug people got killed for being shitbags". Along comes The Chosen One, who proceeds to use their asses as a tribal drum set once again showing the Khans that their actions have consequences. Fleeing East after being decimated not once but twice you'd think "hey maybe they'll finally get it". Nope they get to the Vegas area and what do they do? The exact same shit, until House finally reboots and slapped the shit out of the tribals and tells the "Great" Khans to frick off. Now three times this group of cum rags have been whipped so how do they proceed? Oh they immediately start raiding, pillaging and slaughtering any NCR person entering the territory because after getting your ass beat by a group twice it's always wise to piss them off again.
Papa Khan not only tells you they did these things while in the Vegas area, but practically brags about it. How "great" his people were being nothing more than a band of raiders with a history of getting fricked in the ass. Yet this little worm will cry and moan about "da big bad NCR" for flipping the tables on them at Bittersprings. How fricking dare the NCR do exactly what they had been doing, not only doing it better but also having it be a complete fricking accident due to miscommunication.
