Not sure what you're referring to. Warframe was relatively bad only during it's very early stages, like during closed beta or something.

I never played it because I could tell from the videos alone that the movement was weird. to me Ascend pathfinder, sniper or soldier (?) movement + 100% inheritance projectiles are what I want from a Tribes game. I'm sure it could still be improved but what I saw of Midair just didn't give me that feeling I get from just watching Ascend gameplay. the new footage has that feel, it looks like Ascend gameplay.

I played it when it came out and it had very poor performance, which is unacceptable when the game looks so bad. It also had jetting different to TA (T1/2 style vectoring instead)

I don't know what he's talking about because TA did have matchmaking, just choose quick match or whatever it was called and it takes you to a game with people near your rank.
I should add that being able to actually CHOOSE your server wasn't originally even a feature in TA, it was added later.
the devs abandoned the game while it was still popular to focus on making a moba instead, so it remained in a bad state until it died. the monetization was absolute garbage.
