I'm seriously considering becoming a tendie. The only big titles I like are souls shit and hitman, and I don't think those are getting new entries very soon. There isn't anything I feel like playing right now that I would need a PS5 or a good computer for.

Nobody is buying a Switch to play an unoptimized third party capeshit game, this game ran on PS3, it can fricking run on the Switch if Tears of the Kingdom, Bayonetta 2 and Hogwarts Legacy can, the problem is not the hardware, it's the terrible porting job.
case in point doom 2016 and doom eternal's ports, both were perfectly playable in my experience (even if 2016 was muddy as frick) and gyro aim was a great touch, and those were PS4/xbone games

No, the best option is still idort with heavy PC support. Nintendo's games fell off hard hhis gen (ToTK ACNH, Odyssey, Pokemon, Xenoblade, FE Engage and their Mario sports titles ere all shit) and their garbage hardware is fricking unbearable to deal with.
Switch + PC is still the best idort setup and that will probably never change.

You have to render TOTK at a lower res on Deck to get it playable.
