But WHY was it being summoned there? I'm not even joking when I'm saying that I completely forgot everything about Grim Dawn's plot.

Aetherials are people who got yeeted off the world when their god lost. They found a way to return and started to infiltrate the world to prepare it for their arrival known as Grim/Glorious dawn. Choton is another god who absolutely hates aetherials and his cultists are using the chaos to convert refugees into helping them summon him.

Yes, but what is the significance of the Necropolis? Why did it get picked as the summoning site?

Because Necropolis was made to seal the creature away and disguised as a big graveyard

Wrong. They weren't people at all; they were created entities, used as slaves for the old gods. They were influenced by the humans they possessed though which lead to mass changes in behavior and a derailing of the assumed Glorious Dawn plan.
>"What is an Aetherial really?" - Player >"We were the servants of the primordial gods, but when our makers grew jealous of one another, we became soldiers in a cataclysmic war. Countless creations were eradicated by the ensuing conflict, countless millennia of our work erased in a flicker of godly anger. But none of that compared to the day one side chose to harness the darkness of the void in a desperate bid for victory. The results were catastrophic and our masters were cut down or scattered to the far reaches of creation. And we, the most loyal servants, were banished to the Aether for the simple crime of serving without question. There, stripped of our physical forms, we were forced to wander the emptiness of the stars for all eternity, the scars inflicted upon us by the void's minions still burning deep. ah they are doing the dual class system so I'm gucci with that.
Flexible character system: In Titan Quest 2, you are in control of you own fate. Customize your hero, then form your own class by combining two masteries. Build your character around the strengths and weakness of both masteries, exploring different combinations of skill modifiers, attributes, and items to create your own hybrid class and find your favorite playstyle. Grow your powers from those of a young mortal to a hero to rival the gods themselves!
Grim Dawn had a real problem where all the environments were ruins, shanty shacks and mud huts. Why don't they pick a setting that lets them make cool shit instead of everything having to look shitty and stupid because the world ended? Humanity never achieved anything impressive in that setting so the ruins are all just lame as frick normal buildings smashed up so they look even worse.
It's poe that is in trouble. Both new Grim Dawn and Titan Quest content coming. That's a double blow directly to the back of the head. That bald crypto chink is done. By the end of next year he'll be out of a job begging for loose change on Twitch streaming Diablo 2. Screencap this.
But it was so fricking smooth when you did your setup perfectly and got a backstab on the Cyclops in Olympus, watching how its healthbar went down in just one hit.
the only reason tq even stayed alive for years before this clown company got it is due to modders. 2 will not feature any modding because it is all about forcing you to buy their shitty expansions now.
this thread > dude I literally personally know all the developers in the industry and where and when they worked and have thier linkedn pages up right now and based on this information it will suuuuuuck!!!
You notice how every insult from a certain crowd revolves around sex? Before i thought it was a lower IQ thing but it's probably mostly being heavily invested into social validation in general
Defence/Dream is literally the easiest combo, unkillable unless you alt-tab and needs no items to work
Start with dream, kill shit with Distortion Wave and Distort Reality
When you get to act 3 respec and go from spells to melee
I can't wait to bind a single builder skill to my right click, a spender to my left, and pick only passive skills just like I did with Titan Quest and Grim Dawn. Truly, the genre perfected.
Grim Dawn is not a fun ARPG until you are already 90% done with your character and almost full decked out. There's a reason why it's nicknamed Grim Yawn.
Just looks like a corpo knee jerk reaction to D4. >Not by the original Devs >No release date >No gameplay >Open World and Mounts
Looks like a pass from me.
>corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.
If you've been paying even the slightest bit of attention you'd know it's been in the pipeline for at least four years.
>Just looks like a corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.
Considering that it's "coming soon" and not a "we just started developing this game", you are wrong.
>corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.

It's made by completely different developers, so what's the fricking point? We haven't even seen gameplay...
I don't understand why people are excited for it.
make the maps less frick huge
make the skills actually feel different and fun to use, and cool it with the absurd cooldowns
transmog for armors and weapons
do not make boring shit like the Atlantis DLC, that shit was so fricking boring holy shit
>make the maps less frick huge
Please do the opposite. Every single other game in the entire fricking genre is just endless corridors between boss fights.
Frick off, most of the maps are boring as shit with nothing in them as you sprint past literally everything to get to the boss. Their size exists to pad playtime

Not a single game has ever done it as well as D2, it's a pretty impossible bar at this point. That said, it was god awful in TQ1 so I'm hoping it's at least on par with GD.
Yeah. I hated playing any kind of minion master in Titan Quest, so if its at least decent...
I'm still waiting for a game that lets me gear up and upgrade my summons/minions/slaves.
Inquisitor? It's a mixed bag. It's a very basic, but actually pretty fun game. Short missions set across a story. Get it cheap. It has technical issues however. One VERY important thing you will need to do is go and right click the exe and change the scaling behaviour. And expect it to look like serious ass until you tweak graphic settings. The AA in this game is seriously broken and you can't turn it off completely.
That Ragnarok piece is pretty great. Might try and convince myself to play through the 3 new expansions at last. Currently having fun with a new Neidan class.
>GD >yet another depressive brownish-black-with green lights game with nothing but blight and strife and piss and shit and devastation everywhere
No thanks.
titan quest 1 was boring as frick, only people defending it are gays who played it as children
will try 2 though since they can't possibly make it more boring, and now that children learning about geography are not their main target demographic the game will look good and be as gory as it needs to
The thing that I liked most about TQ was how it handled skills and classes. Grim Dawn refined this further and added a class-agnostic advancement system with Devotion, which was even better. I hope TQ2, even if it's made by different people, learns the lessons that both games teach about crafting and customizing equipment as well as classes and stats. Hopefully the combat is a bit more dynamic, too, though later updates of Grim Dawn tried to fix this with jump in/jump out item skills it didn't work. Late game is too rocket tag-y to faff about, and I mean that in a bad way.
I enjoy Grim Dawn.
Was playing it just before getting on this thread.
To be fair I probably still just have a bias against TQ from it not having any blood and feeling pretty safe when I first played it like a decade ago, but I'm not about to attempt to replay it since I got too much shit to play.
The start of it WAS much more boring that GD's though, and that is saying something.
>The start of it WAS much more boring that GD's though, and that is saying something.
AT least the Anniversary Edition added the option to increase the game's speed, but yeah, the start is a chore. Leveling up taking forever is another issue I have with it.
I don't expect this game to be good, but I really want it to be good. I liked the dual mastery system in TQ, and I liked the more bright and sunny mythological feel to the game than just another grim dark ARPG.
I hope they keep rares and monster infrequents relevant, and I hope monsters still drop their equipment like they do in TQ.
Also giant enemy crab.
I don't get why people are hating on GD. I love both and spent hundreds of hour on both and I will confidently say that GD have superior gameplay and polish. It doesn't mean that TQ is bad though, it's still very good especially the AE.
One thing I hope some aRPG does is have more NPC companions/allies. As someone who plays this game alone, there's always at least one class totally nerfed into the ground because they exist to buff and support allies you can't get playing alone. Yet another thing Diablo 2 did right that never happened again.
I have played most of the popular arpgs that get recommended on here or other sites, and I've never liked one despite enjoying the idea of an arpg on paper... is there any hope for me? I just want a fun one to play ;.;
Here's some ARPGs that I think are pretty good and pretty fun, but hardly ever get mentioned in all the "suggest me some ARPGs" threads and forums. Try these out, if you haven't:
You really aren't alone, even though I like GD and Diablo 2 a lot, I recognize that this is a genre with a population you can count on your hands. It's depressing, I hope you find one you vibe with soon, anon
I don't think this is being made by the same company that made Grim Dawn, so a Grim Dawn sequel is still a possibility once Crate finishes their city building game.
They've teased new GD assets and stated they hired on more people. As in specifically for GD. It looks like one final expansion and then a later sequel. Parallel and alongside to the city sim.
So there's not one word on them doing anything new with TQ2. And with different developers too—that doesn't bode well at all. But I'm the moronic one for being curious rather than buying into nostalgia hype. Jump off a bridge loser.
All hack&slash looters are trash and the only exception is Diablo 1. Wake me up once someone decides to make one that completely rips off classic roguelike character and gear progression like Diablo 1 did.
I liked TQ back in the day but when I tried replaying it a few years ago it really hit me that the skill design is pretty shit. Too many cooldowns and a lot of skills just do nothing.
I know it's going to suck because it's a post 2020 western game, but...
How is this goddess still around to hate Sparta when all of the gods left humanity for another dimension in the first game?
Frick this fat piece of shit. He's even worse than the Neanderthal chieftain in the old vanilla game without immortal throne, that would insta stun and one shot you with ice comets.
kek what the frick
i thought the d4 campaign was pretty fun and the writing was surprisingly cool (apparently lead writer was some eastern european homosexual), dont really care for the game beyond that but jesus christ. blizzard is so out of touch.
any method of using your potions will randomly just break until you relaunch the game
as in hotkeys dont work and you cant even click the potion it just straight up doesnt work
completely breaks the flow
I always find it amusing how Titan Quest managed to create an illusion of good graphics, that still holds up very well. Their art design team did absolutely incredible job.
Pretty much because every single game of that genre is set in a grim, dark, colorless, muddy universe and Titan Quest is not.
Pretty incredible what the simple light of day and COLOR can do to a game...
It came out in a good era, one where devs were trying their hardest to do more with less. It's why FF12 turned out looking so good as well despite being a PS2 game.
Do it. The latest expansion added a new system in the starting town that lets you increase the difficulty even more. There's 8 curses that each lower resistances and offensive and defensive ability, but give increased exp per kill and an additional currency called Electrum from every kill that you can spend on loot.
dude my mind was breaking when i noticed this themple in the starting town and i played titan quest like 4 times over and i was losing my mind on how i never notice this frick huge temple and then i discovered that it was added later
The problem with it is that the whole game is basically just a tutorial until you hit epic difficulty. Giving the player an option to start on epic would have made it so much better.
Atlantis is the best one because it adds pretty cool ultimate skills, while the utterly mediocre DLC can be completely ignored.
Ragnarok is the worst because it's a cancerous growth that stretches every single playthrough on every difficulty.
what if we all got together and played a little grim dawn? i aint talkin bout no full campaign but maybe a quick dungeon run
ive played this shit for 9 years but i only ever tried MP one time
I'm going through my second playthrough as an Acid Oathkeeper/Occultist build in grim dawn and enjoying the shit out of it. I've never really enjoyed or played a lot of these Arpgs before this game, only really trying PoE exile upt to act 6, which kind of confused and bored me a little since I didn't know how to build a character and just copied a guide which was no fun, and then Diablo 3, which I fricking despised playing. Titan Quest I've only dabbled with the first act or so, is it as good as Grim Dawn later in the game?

Yeah I'm not getting much out of Occultist right now besides early game Eye of Dreeg DoTs and currently the big heal and boost to my retaliation, which is pretty great but I feel I could use more from that skill tree, it's not much else interests me.
[...]
Fellow appreciators of Dreeg, I see
Bysmiel distracted me at first because of the big fat tiddy lady that works for her but honestly Dreeg has the coolest aesthetic and abilities out of the three by far.
>honestly Dreeg has the coolest aesthetic and abilities out of the three by far.
I love the idea of the first one to get to the Things Man Isn't Meant To Know turning into an eternal gaurdian of mankind against it. It's so fricking kino.
Your shilling tacitcs can't trick me
Original TQ devs still exist and they made GD (improved version of TQ but with dooork setting)
This is like resurrecting Silent Hunter series and hiring Uboat developers
I will not buy your game
>Original TQ devs still exist and they made GD
Not exactly, only 2-3 people from the fairly big original team work in Crate. But Arthur Bruno is far from literally who, and he was clearly passionate about making a spiritual sequel.
I can still remember the last fun build i was experimenting with. I havent played the game with embers but i had a nasty Rogue/Warfare Trap/Banner caster build. It went nutty the damage was insane. I hope the devs hit it out of the park with 2. I want more fun in the game with unique builds
find a build you enjoy and plow through it. Personally i got for achievements to increase enjoyment
[...]
It's all on sale right now.
Thanks. Last build I played was some archer thing. I think I'll play a spell build.
Atlantis is great, they fixed all the performance issues. I don't know what else you'd complain about. New skills for every class, new items, some of the best looking areas in the game.
>New skills for every class, new items
Now this piqued my interest. Gonna be a fun weekend.
bro i was so dissapointed with atlantis i still havent bought embers. Its 10€ right now but i dont even know if thats worth. The DLC havent been great with the exception of Immortal Throen

damage reduction is nice until you get stunlocked and mana drained instantly by high level Eternal Embers mobs and can do nothing but watch yourself die. That's why I prefer Neidan + Defense.
>i want drastic gameplay changes so it barely resembles the first game
No, frick off. I hope they don't turn it into some dodge roll bullshit. I want classic god damn ARPG, you click to do shit, you press your skill buttons. I genuinely just want TQ but on a better engine and with prettier stuff.
I liked how TQ added hidden, super bosses on higher difficulties. Is there any other arpgs that do something similar? I know GD has nemesis bosses but it's not the same
>build
The frick do you even mean? Get a weapon for ternino attack and use the other skills in spirit. What else do you even need to know? Put points into intelligence. Use the gear you find when you kill enemies, It's not fricking complicated.
What, another mastery? Pick any of the int ones. Or if you suck and die often in these games, use a more defensive one.
I have no faith bros. I dont think these new developers can capture the unique feel of the original. The couldnt with their shitty DLCs its already proven. I need some quality Hopium cause i fricking love TQ
I gave TQ a good 42 hours, yet I feel like I barely got anywhere in the game when I see screenshots and speedruns. 42 hours are a long time to keep clicking on trash mobs and swap out gear for something that does +1 more of something or other. how do people keep giving a frick??
Game is gonna be dead on arrival. Devs are Grimlore Games, studio responsible for Spellforce 3, which was a massive piece of shit.
Frick! I had hope for a moment.
>genre known for gameplay >cinematics-only bullshit
That's a huge redflag, but I'll give the benefit of doubt because maybe they want to capitalize on Diablo and PoE shitting the bed, but then again they won't have a game cooked by 2025 when PoE 2 gets released.
PoE is hemorrhaging from splitting in two, plus being mobile tier skinner box garbage. There seems to new GD content in the works with a growth in hires at Crate looking a lot like an expansion and a much later sequel. Between it and TQ2, Chris Wilson is a dead man walking. But the real drain is gacha. Players are skipping town for animoo breasts. That's the reality as of this day in the F2P arena. PoE just isn't good. And being able to play a comfy game offline without being constantly milked like a cow by monetization will always win out over some homosexual begging for subs on Twitch.
OH FRICK. the actual good diablo is back!
TQ1 has a lot of issues, more after THQ had their way with it.
Grim Dawn is the one that is actually good.

Agreed, grim dawn is classic status at this point.
Grim Yawn.
Granted, TQ is even more clunky, stiff and boring. Hopefully the sequel can rectify this.

this isn't the board for it, this board is about video games, not your political and social anxiety
You can't stop me. I will never stop.
>history is getting censored
Dark ages 2 revengeance
Yeah that would be disappointing. Mesopotamia and China were cool to discover and it felt like a real journey through ancient times.
All the wacky locations from Titan Quest came from the DLC.
Probably base game will be Mediterranean based, just like the original game.
>Base game

This homie didn't even reached act 3

it's gonna suck also what are those Black folk up to anyway?
Teased new GD content a while ago.
Their latest game is a village management game, furthest frontier or some shit. It's in early access.
They're doing both
Frontier added religion and better bandit and some other stuff in 0.9
Still waiting on diplomacy with bandits and kings/armies
it is made by literal whos, it will be fricking awful.

did Diablo 4 and PoE2 lose?
poe 2 killed my hype with closed beta release date
and d4.. season 1 already dead
D4 won big time
No other arpg will ever hit that peak
now that PoE2 is a standalone game it actually has a chance to be not-shit but it's still too early to tell
as it is too early to tell with TQ2
but more options ain't bad
Holy shit I gotta finish the first game.
Can I play a hydrid int/dex bow Pilgrim if it's your first run and I don't have any gear to pass down?
Hunting / nature is solid, yes. Hunting is part of all the rapiest assfrick specs, and nature is a great all around choice. You will be dependent on piercing damage for maximum effect.
worth playing TQ1 Anniversary Edition or too old?
it's a solid ARPG with a unique setting. go for it
unironically still holds up. just played it again a few months ago.
If you like the gameplay. The leveling is fricking slow without modding and the levels are pretty down to earth countryside with occasional city here and there.
AE ruins base tq unless you own all the shitty expansions because loot from them will drop which you cannot use.
the expansions burned me out last time I played it but it was ok
Very glad it's not being made by the DLC makers of TQ AE. I only got a little bit into Ragnarok before getting stuck in the terrain.
The first expansion is possibly one of my favourite ARPG areas. I recommend it for weird classes you will never see in a typical ARPG.
do it. recommend making a seed character that you copy out many times when you pick your first class
Absolutely worth playing if you like pet or trap builds, other playstyles suffer from unsatisfying animations.
lets fricking GO

Hunting+rogue is top Chad. You either kill everything in 3 seconds or you die to the first hit you failed to dodge.
titan quest is one of the most boring games I've ever played. Only bothered with it because the setting is cool, but frick.
then frick off gay boy, real gamers are here. Go play OW2.
are those ichthians?
Who can say for sure? If so, they lost their tails.
but gained ass
>modern soulless fog
pass
mmmm desaturated greys and browns wow I love modern video game “”””””artists”””””
Why are you blatantly ignoring all the green, blue, and red in that image?
LMAO little zoomer is getting titan quest and torchlight confused.
Damn, Runescape 3 is looking pretty good.
PoE 2 looking good.
how are these settings? I want to make this game running on a pretty shitty pc, I wouldn't mind doing this.
bro the game is almost 20 years old what are you on about. I had a shit PC by 2005's standards and it still ran well and looked good.
looks pretty nice
Grim Dawn had a real problem where all the environments were ruins, shanty shacks and mud huts. Why don't they pick a setting that lets them make cool shit instead of everything having to look shitty and stupid because the world ended? Humanity never achieved anything impressive in that setting so the ruins are all just lame as frick normal buildings smashed up so they look even worse.
always online lost ark clone, dual class not being included, ~~*diversity*~~
you're moronic.
>dual class not being included
There is 0 chance they aren't doing dual class. That's the core identity of tq.
>ahhh this game set in ancient greece, egypt and china does NOT have enough white people!!!
no point in arguing with anyone who defends nordic and how they ruin good games by ancient devs.
D4 is getting dabbed on constantly. This is just dancing on its corpse
It's poe that is in trouble. Both new Grim Dawn and Titan Quest content coming. That's a double blow directly to the back of the head. That bald crypto chink is done. By the end of next year he'll be out of a job begging for loose change on Twitch streaming Diablo 2. Screencap this.
Sex with liontaur women
they dont even look hot, much better are the meanads
>rogue/hunt
>kill everything with bow
>die to a wet fart

frick that takes me back
But it was so fricking smooth when you did your setup perfectly and got a backstab on the Cyclops in Olympus, watching how its healthbar went down in just one hit.
It WILL be woke
is battlemage fun
hybrid
don't make it your first character
but it's pretty busted with dual wielding Chakrams of the Sun
What's a good class for a first character then?
Anything + Dream is considered pretty great.
guess I'll try Harbinger then
Any "full" class combo
Full martial
Full mage
Full ranged
Just don't mix melee and magic, you need really specifc items for that
the only reason tq even stayed alive for years before this clown company got it is due to modders. 2 will not feature any modding because it is all about forcing you to buy their shitty expansions now.
God I wish I knew how many hours I played on release. At least triple that
this thread
> dude I literally personally know all the developers in the industry and where and when they worked and have thier linkedn pages up right now and based on this information it will suuuuuuck!!!
rope yourself e-prostitute poster

I have. Didn't make any difference.
You notice how every insult from a certain crowd revolves around sex? Before i thought it was a lower IQ thing but it's probably mostly being heavily invested into social validation in general
>those eyebrows
>that nose ring
dumb b***h
I don't even WANT to hate women, I try so fricking hard not to, but it's just... it's a losing fricking battle. Holy shit.
I played the new TQ DLCs developed by Nordic. TQ2 is going to be painfully mediocre.
>concerns
it's just grim yawn with a greek paintjob
>grimlore
mite b good
Spellforce 3 was decent enough.
Will this be good though? Don't none of the original devs work for there anymore?
Does anniversary edition have controller support? I can't stand playing these games with mouse and keyboard
Yea, need DS4 windows set to xbox emulation for ps4-5 controllers
>need DS4 windows set to xbox emulation for ps4-5 controllers
No you don't, not anymore. It runs fine straight up.
Then what i said is just for the gog version
HOLY SHIT YES
TQ bros, we back.
I hope TQ2 has a proper summoner mastery.
>Open World
>Mounts
So its a D4slop clone.
No thanks.
>Nature/Dream
>3 wolves, nightmare, nymph + scroll summons
>gameplay is looting shit while pets kill everything

farming endgame = resummon slaves simulator
Time for a reinstall. Two people pick a mastery.
Neidan
Defence + Rune.
Storm
Neidan
What's the newbie friendly combo?
Anything extra i should know before starting?
Defence/Dream is literally the easiest combo, unkillable unless you alt-tab and needs no items to work
Start with dream, kill shit with Distortion Wave and Distort Reality
When you get to act 3 respec and go from spells to melee
i'll try both and see what i like more, thanks
Runes magical charge makes normal mode brainlet tier easy. Combine that with defence or nature and you'll never die unless you're sub 80 IQ.
Mouth breathers recommend war+defence for first time.
any physical mastery with warfare
inb4 WE WUZ GREEK N SHIT
melee contemplator y/n?
Anything with neidan will be bare minimum good.
I can't wait to bind a single builder skill to my right click, a spender to my left, and pick only passive skills just like I did with Titan Quest and Grim Dawn. Truly, the genre perfected.

Very real reaction.
>people think grimdawn is bad but praise tq
you never liked arpgs you just like the setting.
Grim Dawn is not a good game. I'd sooner play Diablo 4. Go cry somewhere else.
Why do PoE addicts always sound like shattered rape victims?
>why do rape victims sound like rape victims
>Why do PoE addicts
They don't even like their own game
>THIS FREE UPDATE FOR THIS FREE GAME WAS ONLY MEDIUM SIZED I'M PISSING MY DIAPER
Grim Dawn is not a fun ARPG until you are already 90% done with your character and almost full decked out. There's a reason why it's nicknamed Grim Yawn.
>Grimlore
>instead of Crate Entertainment
It will suck
How pozzed is it going to be ?
well we all know nordic are morons and come to this site so time for months of moronic shilling. and you guys sucking them off.
Soo what is the most complete edition of the first one?Gonna try now
are pure mage classes viable at endgame
Yes
Just looks like a corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.
>Not by the original Devs
>No release date
>No gameplay
>Open World and Mounts
Looks like a pass from me.
>corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.
If you've been paying even the slightest bit of attention you'd know it's been in the pipeline for at least four years.
>Just looks like a corpo knee jerk reaction to D4.
Considering that it's "coming soon" and not a "we just started developing this game", you are wrong.
Where is the gameplay then?
moron.
Crate's working on a survival farming game.
Hopefully endgame is not about collecting a clown suit to get max resistances to everything.
It's made by completely different developers, so what's the fricking point? We haven't even seen gameplay...
I don't understand why people are excited for it.
>flesh works ambience
Popped a boner.
make the maps less frick huge
make the skills actually feel different and fun to use, and cool it with the absurd cooldowns
transmog for armors and weapons
do not make boring shit like the Atlantis DLC, that shit was so fricking boring holy shit
>make the maps less frick huge
Please do the opposite. Every single other game in the entire fricking genre is just endless corridors between boss fights.
Go play Garbage 4 or Path of Room Nuke.
Frick off, most of the maps are boring as shit with nothing in them as you sprint past literally everything to get to the boss. Their size exists to pad playtime
>sprint past literally everything to get to the boss
That's a you problem. I don't.
frick off yourself, huge maps are great, I want to explore instead of being herded to the next point of interest
>I want to explore
But what's the point when there's nothing of interest to find
>exploration
>TQ
wowowow a shitty cave with nothing in it, maybe you'll do a side quest for no reward other than XP
fricking amazing exploration
It's shit in Titan Quest, and it's shit in Grim Dawn
>and it's shit in Grim Dawn
It's good in GD.
stick to poe little zoom zoom, press your one button and sprint at 400 mph to the boss arena
>pretending as if it isn't exactly the same in TQ and GD
>TQ:IT on steam as separate game
what the frick
the anniversary is on an updated engine or something, old TQ is no longer purchaseable
Just from a gameplay systems perspective Grim Dawn has really been polished into a diamond. Engine and feel is a bit rough but.
>shilling TQ2 while shitting on GD
This is surreal. Shills are delusional.
See
>Shills are delusional
Yes, you are correct. Grim Dawn shills, like yourself, are delusional.
Remember: Advanced Hair: yeah yeah!
GD is shit but TQ2 isn't made by GD devs so it could be good.
Here's hoping it's good. I loved TQ. I do wish Crate would follow up Grim Dawn though, on a new, better engine.
BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED
Does it have a good summoner/necromancer character? Titan Quest sucked for that.
We don't know yet.
I bet it'll be shit. Grim Dawn did it decently but Diablo 2 had the best necromancers.
More like Grimyawn
What's the best class to pair with Neidan for a pure warrior? Defense or Warfare?
For me? It's Hunt/Rogue + Spear and Shield.
Literally my two least favorite classes. Defence + Rune for me.
I'm actually hoping for some soulful jank. Try some weird shit be a bit crazy. I'm sick of games made by committee
It's not as bright and colorful as the original but honestly it's still leagues better visually already than the modern alternatives in the genre.
The original also wasn't colorful.
Does anyone remember Loki? I remember being hyped as frick as a kid for it
I recall playing it but nothing more.
Stormchads
>tq
>not colourful
Ask me how I know you homies never played.
TQ literally has more color in it, especially the first expansion, than every other arpg made in the last 20 years combined.
>forgetting about Torchlight
I understand.
Torchlight is more of a colour by numbers book than a game tbh.
on an unrelated note
how is the warhammer RTS
The AA in this game is seriously broken and you can't turn it off completely.
chaosbane, the fantasy warhammer game
Ahh. Not sure, I haven't played that one.
TQ soundtrack was highly underrated. It's just full of good music. These are two of my favs. Had to upload one myself just now.
That Ragnarok piece is pretty great. Might try and convince myself to play through the 3 new expansions at last. Currently having fun with a new Neidan class.
based monke enjoyer
This is the best piece.
WE'RE SO BACK BROS.
Spirit / Defence literal Gigalordian unkilliable fortress GODS in the house.
Also i hope the people who made any of the DLC after Immortal Throne are not involved. They were weaked and lacked the soul of the original 4 Arcs
Ragnarok was fun. Eternal Embers had it's moments and gave us the kino Neidan mastery. Atlantis sucks though.
The game of not getting a single good item in 1st playthrough.
POESHILLS ON SUICIDE WATCH
thats pretty cool
I wish they had a 2024 date though
I'm getting too old and busy for vidya (28), might not have the time to play an aRPG in 2 years
You have more fun stuff ahead of you, anon. Establishing a career and setting up your life is enormously satisfying.
it is yeah
gonna take out a mortgage next year and gonna get me a cat after 9 years of house hopping as a student and/or junior, bretty excited!
but grim dawn is already titan quest 2
>GD
>yet another depressive brownish-black-with green lights game with nothing but blight and strife and piss and shit and devastation everywhere
No thanks.
in engine alone, that's about it
Titan Quest was fun, Grim Yawn was boring.
Honestly I'm just glad this genre will finally have more than like 4 games
i can only replay them so many fricking times
titan quest 1 was boring as frick, only people defending it are gays who played it as children
will try 2 though since they can't possibly make it more boring, and now that children learning about geography are not their main target demographic the game will look good and be as gory as it needs to
The thing that I liked most about TQ was how it handled skills and classes.
If you don't have a deep appreciation for gameplay systems you won't enjoy Titan Quest or Grim Dawn much
I enjoy Grim Dawn.
That char is even wearing the same lion-head helmet you can find in 1.
What exactly is this screenshot from?
steam page for the game
Ohh, I see. I thought it was some sort of HD mod. The screenshots look great, I really like all the color.
Steam. TQ 2 website.
Apply yourself.
>PoE dead

>GRIM YAWN
YOU MOTHERFRICKER
I liked how TQ had seamless transitions from caves to the overworld, I hope they keep that in the game, that was cool.
>Crab-claw hammer
I will now play your game.
I don't get why people are hating on GD. I love both and spent hundreds of hour on both and I will confidently say that GD have superior gameplay and polish. It doesn't mean that TQ is bad though, it's still very good especially the AE.
>Trance of Convalescence
>Aura of Tranquility
I am become defense, destroyer of difficulty
One thing I hope some aRPG does is have more NPC companions/allies. As someone who plays this game alone, there's always at least one class totally nerfed into the ground because they exist to buff and support allies you can't get playing alone. Yet another thing Diablo 2 did right that never happened again.
I'd love to see an arpg with the quest structure and dialogue trees of a crpg
FRICK that'd be beautiful.
You mean divine divinity?
are the grim dawn guys making this or no?
It's made by the Spellforce dudes, so it has a high chance of actually being entertaining, rather than being boring if the Grim Yawn devs made it.
>Grimlore
oof. I expect this to be a reskinned nu-spellforce game (which is a bad thing)
literally harder than bosses
I hate those homosexuals so much it's unreal
The mage versions of these guys were fricking awful to fight. Easy hardcore run enders.
Titan Quest AE buffed the thunder mage Dragonians to perma stun and deal a million damage. I know they weren't that strong in the original game.
>people who called grim dawn grim yawn are excited for a game that was even more fricking boring
nostalgia sure is something.
Not the same devs you fricking moron
Also TQ has a 2x speed mode now
I have played most of the popular arpgs that get recommended on here or other sites, and I've never liked one despite enjoying the idea of an arpg on paper... is there any hope for me? I just want a fun one to play ;.;
Here's some ARPGs that I think are pretty good and pretty fun, but hardly ever get mentioned in all the "suggest me some ARPGs" threads and forums. Try these out, if you haven't:
Chronicon
Hero Siege
Ghostlore
Slormancer
You really aren't alone, even though I like GD and Diablo 2 a lot, I recognize that this is a genre with a population you can count on your hands. It's depressing, I hope you find one you vibe with soon, anon
Where my Earth/Defense bros at? Standing around doing nothing while your enemy melts around you is pure kino
>game based in greece
>no black people in the trailer despite there having been confirmed 2-3 africans in greece at the time
?
Would have preferred grim dawn 2. Greek armor is insanely gay. Yeah nice epic item that's just a man skirt.
Are you insecure in your sexuality, anon?
I don't think this is being made by the same company that made Grim Dawn, so a Grim Dawn sequel is still a possibility once Crate finishes their city building game.
They've teased new GD assets and stated they hired on more people. As in specifically for GD. It looks like one final expansion and then a later sequel. Parallel and alongside to the city sim.
>Titan Quest 1 got the Payday 2 treatment on console
Don't care, but hopefully the stars align and some schizo kyoanis every single dev
Holy fricking shite we are SO BACK.
So what sets this apart from every other ARPG that exists?
play the first one and find out
I've played and beat TQ1 already, my question was in regards to TQ2.
Considering the game isn't out yet how would we know? Are you moronic?
So there's not one word on them doing anything new with TQ2. And with different developers too—that doesn't bode well at all. But I'm the moronic one for being curious rather than buying into nostalgia hype. Jump off a bridge loser.
Brother I'm not sure why you opened this thread or what you expect but if you want information you have two ways to get it.
1. Play TQ1 yourself or ask questions about TQ1.
2. Open the steam page or type Titan Quest 2 into google and read for yourself.
It was literally just announced and not a single person in this thread has any sort of inside information, only what has been shown.
All hack&slash looters are trash and the only exception is Diablo 1. Wake me up once someone decides to make one that completely rips off classic roguelike character and gear progression like Diablo 1 did.
i've some faith in Grimlore
their games are pretty autistic
I've NEVER found a better plebfilter than TQ.
Anyone who can't bring themselves to play it because it's "slow" or "boring" can instantly be disregarded and are not worth associating with.
They will 100% find a way to pozz it up, might be worse than Baldur's Gate 3 even.
Same as Hades in IT - decided to stay behind to conquer everything with nothing to oppose him
le crafty smarty woman outsmarting the dumbdumb men boys
clearly you'll be fighting the christian god and his angels before realizing you were set up by satan then you go kill satan
It's blatantly a greek goddess though, and the trailer has heavy feminist overtones so I have no hope for this game being decent.
The "gods" were just fallen angels.
>its real
i will now play your game
>Using actual combat poses for spears instead of vase painting inspired lightly brushing enemies on attack
YES
going for a titan quest rerun. what build should I go with?
hunter+nature
neidan/dream
Anything that isn't dream.
>is more powerful than Hades in your path
I hate that homosexual so much it's unreal
Frick this fat piece of shit. He's even worse than the Neanderthal chieftain in the old vanilla game without immortal throne, that would insta stun and one shot you with ice comets.
I fapped to the maenads as a kid. Stupid sexy monsters.
I thope they keep the physics-based ragdolls and stuff
Killing things in TQ was always super satisfying
Should I use the Neidan LMB attack or the Dream one?
>Titan Quest 2
>Dragon's Dogma 2
>Talos Principle 2
It's a good time for decade old games to get sequels.
Titan Quest came out in 2006
>it's gonna be le pozzed

brown fingers actually took the type to make this post
>meanwhile D4 devs just released this
ain't that some shit
I couldn't take more than 3 seconds of them.
they die at level 50 in a wt1 normal dungeon
the people who make it
>these are the devs
no wonder the game is such a fricking mess. season 1 has literally 1 day of content in it
kek what the frick
i thought the d4 campaign was pretty fun and the writing was surprisingly cool (apparently lead writer was some eastern european homosexual), dont really care for the game beyond that but jesus christ. blizzard is so out of touch.
Man the California marketing team is really not helping improve Blizzard's PR.
The video game industry needs a bud light scenario to wake them up.
>Hopes
FIX THE FRICKING POTION BUG IN TITAN QUEST 1 REEEEEEEE
>POTION BUG
What?
any method of using your potions will randomly just break until you relaunch the game
as in hotkeys dont work and you cant even click the potion it just straight up doesnt work
completely breaks the flow
I've played enough to beat the game with all curses on in hardcore and I've never experienced what you're talking about. 3k+ hours.
You might be talking about the alt tab bug, but that's everything, not just potions. Fricks up your whole input. Just press the win key.
>win key
fricking casuals ruining arpgs
yep just potions
I can still do everything else in the game but potioms break
Titan Quest is the best ARPG I've played
And I've played them all
I always find it amusing how Titan Quest managed to create an illusion of good graphics, that still holds up very well. Their art design team did absolutely incredible job.
The ground textures in titan quest are still some of the best in any game.
This, unironically still looks better than GD with the boring grimdark aesthetic
Come on dude, it looks like Morrowind and it came out in 2006. It's a fun game but the graphics were outdated even on release.
Complete and utter revisionism, this board spews the stupidest bullshit every single fricking day
holy shit i havent seen a shittiest take this bad all week
Not for a 2006 PC game tbh. It looked fine, unless you compared it to Gears or something like a dumb ass.
You have zero appreciation/understanding of art.
I hope it has server side multiplayer.
Diablo and POE are still the kings because you can't dupe/hack in MP.
Really strong urge to reinstall TQ and attempt a hardcore run
Do it. The latest expansion added a new system in the starting town that lets you increase the difficulty even more. There's 8 curses that each lower resistances and offensive and defensive ability, but give increased exp per kill and an additional currency called Electrum from every kill that you can spend on loot.
You will die.
dude my mind was breaking when i noticed this themple in the starting town and i played titan quest like 4 times over and i was losing my mind on how i never notice this frick huge temple and then i discovered that it was added later
the screenshots look beautiful
can't wait.
titan quest 1 was extremely boring
diablo 4 fans will feel right at home then
The problem with it is that the whole game is basically just a tutorial until you hit epic difficulty. Giving the player an option to start on epic would have made it so much better.
>titan quest 2
>path of exile 2
>all within reason able releasewindows
ARPG CHADS WERE EATING GOOD TONIGHT
frick yeah!
plap
How are the expansions? I only played the original and the first expansion, any of the new ones worth it?
Ragnarok > Eternal Embers > Atlantis. They're all good, yes even Atlantis, which while once a broken mess has been fixed mostly.
They're only worth it if you really enjoy TQ. EE is also legendary only.
Atlantis is the best one because it adds pretty cool ultimate skills, while the utterly mediocre DLC can be completely ignored.
Ragnarok is the worst because it's a cancerous growth that stretches every single playthrough on every difficulty.
this anon knows. If i could however i would remove fricking everything that isnt act 1-2-3-4
>pet runs around the whole graveyard summoning every damn Skeleton
Bloody love this game
>right click
>set to non-aggressive
what if we all got together and played a little grim dawn? i aint talkin bout no full campaign but maybe a quick dungeon run
ive played this shit for 9 years but i only ever tried MP one time
I'm going through my second playthrough as an Acid Oathkeeper/Occultist build in grim dawn and enjoying the shit out of it. I've never really enjoyed or played a lot of these Arpgs before this game, only really trying PoE exile upt to act 6, which kind of confused and bored me a little since I didn't know how to build a character and just copied a guide which was no fun, and then Diablo 3, which I fricking despised playing. Titan Quest I've only dabbled with the first act or so, is it as good as Grim Dawn later in the game?
imo Oathkeeper/Nightblade is better for acid build. I made one and it was good I got bored of how easy it made the game.
Fellow appreciators of Dreeg, I see
Yeah I'm not getting much out of Occultist right now besides early game Eye of Dreeg DoTs and currently the big heal and boost to my retaliation, which is pretty great but I feel I could use more from that skill tree, it's not much else interests me.
It's so fricking kino.
>because of the big fat tiddy lady that works for her
All three representatives are the Witch Gods themselves
please no the solael guy is so fricking lame
Solael is naturally the worst of them.
Usurpers.
Korvaak did nothing wrong
Your shilling tacitcs can't trick me
Original TQ devs still exist and they made GD (improved version of TQ but with dooork setting)
This is like resurrecting Silent Hunter series and hiring Uboat developers
I will not buy your game
no one asked
go back to your bear fricking
>Original TQ devs still exist and they made GD
Not exactly, only 2-3 people from the fairly big original team work in Crate. But Arthur Bruno is far from literally who, and he was clearly passionate about making a spiritual sequel.
GD sucks. It's a good thing they're not making TQ2.
I can still remember the last fun build i was experimenting with. I havent played the game with embers but i had a nasty Rogue/Warfare Trap/Banner caster build. It went nutty the damage was insane. I hope the devs hit it out of the park with 2. I want more fun in the game with unique builds
Did not expect this. Never did finish TQ in any of my playthroughs. I think I'll start one now. What's the best way to enjoy TQ in 2023?
Anniversary Edition on steam
Get the only good DLC when it's on sale and gg
Thanks. Last build I played was some archer thing. I think I'll play a spell build.
>New skills for every class, new items
Now this piqued my interest. Gonna be a fun weekend.
find a build you enjoy and plow through it. Personally i got for achievements to increase enjoyment
It's all on sale right now.
bro i was so dissapointed with atlantis i still havent bought embers. Its 10€ right now but i dont even know if thats worth. The DLC havent been great with the exception of Immortal Throen
Atlantis is great, they fixed all the performance issues. I don't know what else you'd complain about. New skills for every class, new items, some of the best looking areas in the game.
FASTER
>cyberpunk2077epicgameplay.webm

And you wonder why people dislike your game.
>your game
You mean TQ?
My terracota warrior is already doing more damage than me.
Just don't make a pet build, they're the worst possible choice.
You've obviously never played an end game pet build. It's moron level strong. Any boss in the game deleted in 10 seconds and clears well too.
I'm talking specifically about terrakottas, there's nothing redeemable about them.
They blow my eardrums out every time I quit the game cause their death sound plays 3 times overlapped when you exit.
Turn him into a suicide bomber. That'll show him.
Looks like PooE is about to get btfo. The mazed addicts will be hemorrhaging.
>Hopes
titan quest 1 but more, that's it. tq was one the best arpgs simply for its fresh settings and fun class mixing.
I just play a contemplator and never die
damage reduction is nice until you get stunlocked and mana drained instantly by high level Eternal Embers mobs and can do nothing but watch yourself die. That's why I prefer Neidan + Defense.
ternion attack plus a staff that deals % life damage is all you need
i want drastic gameplay changes so it barely resembles the first game
>i want drastic gameplay changes so it barely resembles the first game
No, frick off. I hope they don't turn it into some dodge roll bullshit. I want classic god damn ARPG, you click to do shit, you press your skill buttons. I genuinely just want TQ but on a better engine and with prettier stuff.
Main villain is Nemesis per the steam page
Kind of weird but not unwelcome, don't get the angel aesthetic tho

>Trusting Yaweh
Anon you can't be serious.
I don't have to trust him when it just makes sense.
Doesn't even make sense, he calls another goddess the Queen of Heaven.
and? Has nothing to do with what we're talking about.
Don't bother anon.
There's literally nothing you can say that will ever, EVER change that anons mind about anything. Ever. His mind is set.
I liked how TQ added hidden, super bosses on higher difficulties. Is there any other arpgs that do something similar? I know GD has nemesis bosses but it's not the same
i've got anniversary no extra expansions
what's comfiest way to play solo?
Use the masteries you think are cool. Don't rush the game from quest to quest like a dopamine burnt out zoomer.
>for consoles
and I lost any and all interest
what's the best ternion attack build
Durr what build? Fricking mouth breather.
wtf a game in 2023 that actually looks decent???? is gaming healing?
A CGI TRAILER AND NO GAMPLAY! THE FUTURE IS SO BRIGHT BROS!!! THE INDUSTRY IS HEALING!!!!!!!!!
>getting assblasted over any slight amount of positivity
real Ganker user here
this year has been full of great games, some arpg that isnt out yet isnt the savior
I have no faith bros. I dont think these new developers can capture the unique feel of the original. The couldnt with their shitty DLCs its already proven. I need some quality Hopium cause i fricking love TQ
This is made by an entirely different team, the DLC shitters for TQ arent at all involved. The game looks solid and I have been playing for 15 years.
Frick! I had hope for a moment.
>no Greek setting
>no buyan quest
>genre known for gameplay
>cinematics-only bullshit
D4 is good if you ignore the shitty story and multicultural npcs that won’t stop whining. I like the gameplay.
What's the release window?
The devs that did Spellforce 3 are making this.
Redpill me on Spellforce 3.
is this by the devs of grim yawn or do they have competent people working on it?
Hopes:
It's good
Concerns:
No one that made TQ is still there.
It's being made by a completely different studio, too. It's not crate entertainment.
Is the original fine on a tablet with touchscreen controls
