Bugs, shitty balance, optimization. Game needs major overhaul.
good setting but diablo clones suck ass
Most floaty hack'n'slash looter. Really feels terrible to play. Also not RPG.
Possible the best diablo clone ever, and better than D3.
Any opinions on those new THQ expansions? Worth replaying the game to check those out?
>Possible the best diablo clone ever
The thing is - it really is. But the game itself is rather boring and has nothing going for it besides the atmosphere.
>THQ expansions
All are very poorly optimised. Other than that, Ragnarok is slightly worse than the Immortal Throne and Atlantis is just meh.
Ragnarok is amazing with some really cool MIs and epics / legendaries. The Runemaster is a great class.
Atlantis is an optional act as in it's not part of the main story. Adds an extra tier of skills to all classes. Again, this is pretty amazing stuff. Many classes get some cool stuff to play around with, though they are hit-or-miss. Atlantis added a lot of new and cool items.. if you could get them. There are bugs that prevent them from dropping. Not sure if this has been fixed yet but last year it was still bugged. The Atlantis content itself is alright but suffers from really poor optimization. The area design was too ambitious for what the game could actually handle.
Didn't play the newest expansion. It adds a new class that is focused on potion usage and added a bunch of new potions. Very uninteresting shit to me. From what I understand it adds new content into all existing base acts, which is cool, but I tend to buy expansions based on new mechanics and potions just aren't interesting.
>Ragnarok is amazing
Ragnarok is a terrible slog that stretches every playthrough even further. And it's a massive downgrade aesthetically.
>Ragnarok is a terrible slog that stretches every playthrough even further.
That's how I felt about Immortal Throne. I agree that Ragnarok (and IT) should be optional acts like Atlantis. That was the biggest mercy they managed. Disagree that it was a visual downgrade, it's the most appealing act to me after Egypt.
Level/encounter design is super boring
My biggest problem with TQ is how it plays. You're so slow like you're moving through molasses or something.
This is seriosly a huge problem. When spear-dashing is the only fun way to play your game, you know you've fricked up.
They sort of addressed this with the re-release, there's a Speed setting under game settings, basically, it speeds up all the game's animations, makes the game feel somewhat snappier and more fast paced.
Which skill should I max first if my mastery is storm?
Enemy design could be better. Seems uninspired in some places, given the mythological theme, as if they didn't do any research.
It has the same problem as Diablo 2 where skills have too many levels, so if you want something to be strong you're running around doing one or two things, maybe not even using skills and mostly just attacking, with points in passive stuff. It was a product of the time.
The best offline ARPG still.
I played through the entire base campaign but I didn't realize I hated it until I finally stopped playing it
>What went wrong
It's a fricking hack and slash.
>what went right
The setting was nice.
this or Grim Dawn?
GD has worse aesthetics and slower gameplay, but is more fleshed out.
In GD I managed to reach half of the last act where in TQ i managed to reach second act before I got too bored to continue so it is a point for GD in my eyes.
TQ for the setting
GD for the game engine
Right now, I'm siding with TQ only because I'm tired of games with excessive crunch and GD is the very definition of overly crunchy. There is something to be said for a certain amount of simplification...
Can you still not play the Soulvizier mod on the AE version?
It was updated for AE by a different guy a very long time ago. Sadly, that guy decided to remove all "secret" areas because frick you.
Don't like it? Play something else. This is to all the geniuses in the thread. I've often found that people with the least knowledge or skill regarding something are the most vocal and critical of it. Devs are not doing an amazing job with the patches, in fact the last one broke the game and made sphere buying completely pointless, you can literally go to the new expan and get raw attribute better weapons than set ones in Ragnarok on legendary. The game had issues but nobody here has played enough or even done an ironman to know what they're talking about. It's a flawed game but it's the best disbloclone we've got.
>TQ
>ironman
I dunno. That doesn't sound very fun. I like TQ a lot, but I think it lacks a certain something that makes hardcore characters more entertaining in D2. Game is fun enough without perma death.
The fun is in the challenge, it's obviously not mandatory or for everyone, though the latest patches ruins stats on basic drops even for casual players. Ember expansion needs a lot of overhauling in my view for both seasoned players and new ones
>Ember expansion needs a lot of overhauling
Welp, that can't be good, considering that Atlantis is still not fixed. Did they even release the controller support yet? I know it was in beta last time, but I mean did the update go live yet? How fricking long can it take? It's obvious that only one guy works on the game during his weekend for a few hours. Any problems the game has might be fixed in 2-3 years.
>Did they even release the controller support yet?
Yes, but controls are hardcoded so playing with it sucks ass. And targeting works awful with things like throwing traps.
>random updates after ~15 years
Just make a new game or something.
But they did with grim dawn
god i wanna have sex with anime girls soooooo badly sexsexsex SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX
Allah is watching, behave yourself.

titan quest in when it only had the hades expansion and the leveling was insanely slow, i had to use mods to speed up that shit
>what went right
current titan quest is pretty good, recommend to anyone, there's mods to enhance the experience if youre not liking the current one
played this game in my childhood
I thought the graphics were incredible back in the day and I had never played diablo before so I can only remember good things about it
never played the expansion pack though, stopped after killing the titan
20 bucks for all the new expansions, worth it? eternal embers only available in legendary is kinda scary cause I feel like I'm going to get bored of the game before then
With Eternal Embers you can make level 70 character and start a game on Legendary difficulty
Too much clicking.
They made pet builds for people like you.
