I like to use Ion with Zero-Points Tripwire, does anyone have any opinion on other kits? I think about using Vortex Amplifier since I love to use the Vortex Shield, as well as Entangled Energy since it's apparently not half-bad. Any help welcome.

I always wanted to like this games mulitplayer but I always found the gameplay to become slightly more enjoyable when I played the gamemodes that were either pilot only or titan only. Having them both be on the same battlefield just sucked so much.

Has there been any serverfrickery going on lately? I could've sworn there were more data centers a few weeks ago. I imagine they were take down for maintenance. Not only that, but within Jap servers I would get around 115 ping. Now it says I get around 150+. Sucks considering Jap servers were the only ones you could get a consistent match in.
Apart from that, how's Titanfall 1 on the Xbox One? Are the servers stable? Found my old Xbox One and am thinking of getting live to play online, but it'd be a waste if the servers are kill. What about on PC?
I feel like I’ve hit a wall in my progression. I have 1.6 lifetime K/D right now, not great. How do I push that higher? I watch some high-skill players and they waltz around the map and rack up kills like it’s nothing. Meanwhile, every time I turn a corner and shoot at someone I get lasered to death by two other people I didn’t see. My movement is improving, my aim is getting better with time, I just feel like my game sense/map awareness is shit.

monarch can be played as a support titan by giving health and shields, plus the battery goblin strategy is very easy to execute in FD so you end up quickly building up the three tiers of core upgrades to become unkillable.
An incredibly greedy and selfish strategy that makes your teammates hate you, and doesn't accomplish much because she does shit for damage, even with the machine gun build (amp rounds, faster reload/rearm, accelerator). Literally any other titan is better than monarch. If you're talking support, just run tone, that 25% extra damage debuff is infinitely better than a small chunk of shield you can only get every once in a while
I'd give northstar a try with piercing rounds on maps like exoplanet and rise. If you can get a conga line of nukes lined up, one shot can easily just eat through them. And scorch..... Frick man. Every time I flame core, it's like a dopamine shot directly into my brain. I wish more titans had cores like his where it's just fire and forget.

Legion is a power fantasy like nothing else, once you learn to play him. Executioner changes the game so much, since you don't have to spend nearly as many bullets on killing a titan, and your ability to shoot through other titans and friendlies means you don't have to really aim super well. If you get a monarch with the improved chassis core, they can just shit out smoke and be a wall while you just rape everything behind them.

Of the legends you listed, literally only Ash would be a threat, and even then, she's been broken, scattered, hunted and defeated by Cooper so badly she can't perform at her original level. as for "no-hitscan servers", Ikha's bestmaps server is one i can recommend as it has nerfed hitscan weapons, as well as archer without lock on, it does self damage but that was because people were complaining about it too much.
I brought out my old Xbox Juan to play Titanfall 1. Haven't gotten around to getting Xbox Live thoughever. Not a poorgay, just thinking about whether it's worth it. Titanfall 2 servers are kill, so I imagine Titanfall 1's are worse. Really wish it had come out for PS4.

When I first got into Titanfall, I played it like you would any other fps. Was pretty shit at it, so I shelved it. ffw 4 years, for whatever reason I decide to play Titanfall (think I was deciding on what games to delete), and the flip just switches. I think a good majority of these guys are just CODgays who don't know any better. Some, however, are gays on purpose. There's this one gay I sometimes come across who's a high gen, and just sits around using the Spitfire.
the reason camping is one of the better strats in this game is because of how fast some autists are moving in this game.
they blind themselves to people who stake out one position, plus they've adjusted their aiming to moving targets.
I've been hit less by kraber gays just sitting still than moving around.

Back when this game came out, I kept hearing that the game was awesome and it did look the most interesting of the 3 big fps that came out that year
But the since the sales were poor and all my friends were buying BF1, I ultimately got the latter

So this Spring, during a steam sale I though "why not, it's cheap"
Best 5 euros I've spent, this game is awesome and easily one of the best fps of the last 10 years
The campgain was mostly great (the last level sucked and I don't see why we couldn't have the grapple and/or boost abillitie)
I have some gripes with multiplayer balance, but it's still quite thrilling even when losing and addictive when you're winning
Always had the impression that the worst gameplay aspect would be titans, because of how contrasting their mechanics are to the fast, agile, fragile pilots - but wow, it actually works surpringly well, kinda lika cheese and marmelade
As for Titans
I started out with Tone, but now I rarely use him
I quickly became a Scorch main
I know that given the balancing of the game, that he's one of the least "effective" Titans outside of meat-grinder maps
But I don't care, he's just so much fun
The very act of landing shots is challenging and satisfying, and when you corner manage someone...
I also like Ion very much, at first I thought he sucked but once you get the hang of his abillities he become quite an engaging Titan (still think that ammo also using meter is lame)
Really regarding Titans, the worse offences as I see it are:
1) executions don't reward with battery (monarch I know, but it should be for all player)
2) who the frick though it was a good idea for the Ronin sword block to cover a 360º angle? this is just moronic and way to op - specially in Aegis Titan Brawl matches which degenerate into unfun stupidity thanks to Ronin Black folk
just one of the harder titans to master as a newbie because he's so slow and can hurt himself
i remember bullying a low lvl newbie scorch on my ion, just caught every single thermite launcher shot and tossed it back at him until he decided there was nothing he could do but run. if i was in that scorch id just melt ion's fricking face off with inferno shield.

MP is still playable but you have to be patient with the MP lobby crashing every now and then

planetside 2 is great for large scale sci-fi battles, that's for sure. i still remember besieging some base in 2014 with 100 people on each side.

old modded vpks should still work fine
personally i use northstar as a mod manager to play vanilla with mods without repatching, makes modding a breeze
also installed new mods like killstreak counter and scoreboard with k/d with a bit of tweaking

yeah, there's nothing else to suck off, really. warframe has pretty cool movement but it wasn't ever a pvp focused game.

I've heard it's got around 100 players on Xbox (and around 2-3 players on PC). I imagine it has the highest player count during the weekend. I really wanna play TF1 too, but I'm on PS4 unfortunately. with the quake 2 remaster out, i am once again reminded how much this game is just like quake. even the campaign starts with the same scenario - the fleet is shattered by the orbital defenses and your pod crash lands way off target, you now have to destroy the "Big Gun" on your own.
and the weapon arsenal is very much alike as well, you even have a "normal" shotgun (eva) and a "super" shotgun (mastiff), laser rifle - railgun, BFG10K - thunderbolt, hyperblaster - lstar.
ive long felt that it's this connection to old school shooters that makes me like the game so much.

Despite alldatshit, I like it. The maps are nice, I don't have to worry about elevens zipping and zooming, and I get matches instantly. Only thing that sucks is that there isn't anyone playing campaign and that there aren't that many weapons to use. Don't know how there's only like 80 people playing on TF1 and ~1000 on TF2 on PS4, and TF1 still connects to matches instantly without disconnects.

It's my fault for not switching to PC earlier. There might be a way around this by jailbreaking my ps4 and installing the northstar client (supposedly works on it). Not sure if I'd still need psn though. Unfortunately, my ps4's firmware is too high, so I'll have to wait for an update to GoldHEN.

we do slide-hopping, you jump after sprint and hold down ctrl, while sliding let go of W and just do the usual turn mouse right + D and turn mouse left + A while hitting jump every time you land without ever letting go of ctrl. it's the usual quake bunnyhop but while sliding pretty much. you can search titanfall movement guides on youtube, there's a lot of them and there's a lot of more complex movement techs than the usual slidehop.
honestly the slidehop is enough to be better than 90% of groundwalkers that comprise this game's playerbase.

Maybe he was trying to get a reaction out of me but I don't know. I've run into competitive titanfall players who are of the opinion that those stable hitscan autos are the purest display of skill-based shooting and I don't get the perspective. They're clearly considerably better than everything else largely because they're so forgiving to use and so good at punishing open-area movement. IMO the game becomes lame when enough people are playing optimal, being flashy is what titanfall does better than any other multiplayer shooter and optimal CAR gameplay is more exhausting than exciting from what I've watched of typical comp and the people playing it
SMGgays have deluded themselves into thinking their bullet hoses takes skill because "at least I have to actually aim", unlike "noob tubes" that have splash damage. Which makes it funnier when you see the kill cam and they're just holding the trigger while flicking the cursor around the screen, missing 90% of their shots.
There's a strange perspective that hitscan is inherently more skillful because it's a binary thing of "react first, put crosshair on the man" and "less luck-based" than projectiles and I think that's pretty weak, too. For one thing, there's no movement rampup in Titanfall so even hitscan aimduels on the ground still need you to predict movement, secondly, reading your opponent's movement is a cool part of a movement shooter and it'd be nice if that was a greater part of the game, IMO.
It's just a hard tightrope to walk where I don't mind hitscan existing but the movement and lethality is king in my mind and hitscan hurts movement, but if you wanted to keep it the obvious thing to do would be to lessen lethality like quake, but I don't think that would be Titanfall at that point.

Monarch is just an annoying c**t to deal with. Her kit encourages a really homosexual playstyle where she runs off to farm grunts and killsteal for a minute, then she returns as a fricking invincible demigod if your team didn't focus on killing her the second she dropped. If she isn't killed immediately you're gonna be dealing with a titan that can easily out-damage every other titan in the game and walk away with more health at the end of the fight thanks to le battery goblin perk and energy siphon.
Once in a blue moon you might see the rare support Monarch, which is cool, but good fricking luck matching with non-homosexual Monarch users.

I've gone back to Titanfall 1 to see if it's like what I remember, and holy shit. This game is ass, or at least the meta is. If you thought stimgays and cargays were shit, then you haven't had the misfortune of playing against the Black folk who are left playing TF1. Half of these homosexuals abuse the frick out of the Smart Pistol and Arc Mines. Step a few meters out of range, or use cloak, however, and these shitters are left helpless as the pistol that does all their thinking for their hemispherectomied brain is rendered useless. There is little to no incentive to go fast. The maps are nice, but a good portion of them aren't really suited for b-hopping, only the open ones are. I can see why most thought this game was just COD with jet packs, it's because that's how most of these gays play. The worse part about it is that they don't see anything wrong with it, that's just how they play. I thought the complete lack of nips would lead to a lack of the "I mustu winnu foru da emperor's honoru!" attitude that nips have, gays aren't even trying to be gays, that's just their intrinsic gay property, their baseline homosexual state. CAR has low recoil and a good magazine size while the Alternator has higher damage per shot but has a smaller magazine. The CAR is more forgiving, but with the Alternator you can tap fire and kill pilots in three shots at range. I recommend pairing the Alternator with tactikill and fast mags, or gun runner and fast mags.

I thought it was just another shitty battle royale that gets popular for a few weeks and then dies out. After I found out it was set in the Titanfall universe, my first thought was that it was going to be a battle royale with titans.

I was relegated to playing on PS4 for around a year because my PC broke. I had completely regressed to using stim/hitscan weapons. Towards the end I was even using Tone most of the time. I figured I had gotten over my autism about hitscan weapons. Now I'm back on PC and midway through the second match I'm already back to using exclusively projectile weapons and hating hitscans. Nothing else feels as satisfying, it's good to be back.
Was a lifesaver during the worst of Respawn's neglect of 2, and has still been nice when I want to jump into a game immediately. Even still, as a modded version of a niche game it can be hard to find a good server for you. If you're on the east coast of america you should be willing to settle for EU servers, or vice versa, for example

EA has stopped forcing their devs to use frostbite for a long, long time. It was a mess of an engine. Only DICE knew how to use it, and even then, it was far from perfect.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Respawn just keeps using source for the titanfall/apex games. It's worked for them. There's a story from Titanfall's development where they were stressing over which engine to use and eventually a frustrated dev just pulls up hammer, pumps out a fun level and says "why aren't we using this" and so they did

Back when I was forced to play on eleven servers, there was this one gay who'd sit in one spot with multiple sightlines and beam everyone with the spitty. If you'd shoot him or if he'd hear you grappling, he'd use phase shift and dip out. I remember teabagging his ass when I'd finally kill him, but he'd just do the same when he'd kill me. Why are they like this? This is before I learned how to properly slingshot, otherwise I would have been able to get him, but even then, I imagine he'd still get me. He'd always manage to score too three with that tactic.

It has good splash damage so it's very forgiving to use. As far as projectile weapons go, sure, you could call it a noob weapon. But it's not even in the same league as the usual crutches people seethe about here, it's not a weapon that every newbie can pick up and do great with.

aiming only provides zoom on every gun except for stiff and kraber, you don't need it for anything else. try l-star or smr, they're still projectile but the projectiles themselves are fast and the rate of fire is very high.

I feel like I’ve hit a wall in my progression. I have 1.6 lifetime K/D right now, not great. How do I push that higher? I watch some high-skill players and they waltz around the map and rack up kills like it’s nothing. Meanwhile, every time I turn a corner and shoot at someone I get lasered to death by two other people I didn’t see. My movement is improving, my aim is getting better with time, I just feel like my game sense/map awareness is shit.

Why is Tone so much fun in frontier defense bros? It's so satisfying playing rise or blackwater anal and just dumping rockets for five seconds straight. Every titan is so fricking fun except for Monarch, i really don't even get why so many people instalock her.

monarch can be played as a support titan by giving health and shields, plus the battery goblin strategy is very easy to execute in FD so you end up quickly building up the three tiers of core upgrades to become unkillable.
An incredibly greedy and selfish strategy that makes your teammates hate you, and doesn't accomplish much because she does shit for damage, even with the machine gun build (amp rounds, faster reload/rearm, accelerator). Literally any other titan is better than monarch. If you're talking support, just run tone, that 25% extra damage debuff is infinitely better than a small chunk of shield you can only get every once in a while

I'd give northstar a try with piercing rounds on maps like exoplanet and rise. If you can get a conga line of nukes lined up, one shot can easily just eat through them. And scorch..... Frick man. Every time I flame core, it's like a dopamine shot directly into my brain. I wish more titans had cores like his where it's just fire and forget.

Legion is a power fantasy like nothing else, once you learn to play him. Executioner changes the game so much, since you don't have to spend nearly as many bullets on killing a titan, and your ability to shoot through other titans and friendlies means you don't have to really aim super well. If you get a monarch with the improved chassis core, they can just shit out smoke and be a wall while you just rape everything behind them.

Of the legends you listed, literally only Ash would be a threat, and even then, she's been broken, scattered, hunted and defeated by Cooper so badly she can't perform at her original level. He got his pilot certification in boot camp, but never actually put it into practice. He basically passed remedial Pilot class (which is more than anyone else but Ash) but never actually became a full pilot.

as for "no-hitscan servers", Ikha's bestmaps server is one i can recommend as it has nerfed hitscan weapons, as well as archer without lock on, it does self damage but that was because people were complaining about it too much.

once you get the rodeo timing right it's pretty easy, you don't need crazy high sens but you need to be able to do a perfect 180 turn as fast as possible

When I first got into Titanfall, I played it like you would any other fps. Was pretty shit at it, so I shelved it. ffw 4 years, for whatever reason I decide to play Titanfall (think I was deciding on what games to delete), and the flip just switches. I think a good majority of these guys are just CODgays who don't know any better. Some, however, are gays on purpose. There's this one gay I sometimes come across who's a high gen, and just sits around using the Spitfire.
the reason camping is one of the better strats in this game is because of how fast some autists are moving in this game.
they blind themselves to people who stake out one position, plus they've adjusted their aiming to moving targets.
I've been hit less by kraber gays just sitting still than moving around.

But the since the sales were poor and all my friends were buying BF1, I ultimately got the latter

So this Spring, during a steam sale I though "why not, it's cheap"
Best 5 euros I've spent, this game is awesome and easily one of the best fps of the last 10 years
The campgain was mostly great (the last level sucked and I don't see why we couldn't have the grapple and/or boost abillitie)
I have some gripes with multiplayer balance, but it's still quite thrilling even when losing and addictive when you're winning
Always had the impression that the worst gameplay aspect would be titans, because of how contrasting their mechanics are to the fast, agile, fragile pilots - but wow, it actually works surpringly well, kinda lika cheese and marmelade
As for Titans
I started out with Tone, but now I rarely use him
I quickly became a Scorch main
I know that given the balancing of the game, that he's one of the least "effective" Titans outside of meat-grinder maps
But I don't care, he's just so much fun
The very act of landing shots is challenging and satisfying, and when you corner manage someone...
I also like Ion very much, at first I thought he sucked but once you get the hang of his abillities he become quite an engaging Titan (still think that ammo also using meter is lame)
Really regarding Titans, the worse offences as I see it are:
1) executions don't reward with battery (monarch I know, but it should be for all player)
2) who the frick though it was a good idea for the Ronin sword block to cover a 360º angle? this is just moronic and way to op - specially in Aegis Titan Brawl matches which degenerate into unfun stupidity thanks to Ronin Black folk

it's fluid and responsive while establishing clear rules, and at the same time has a lower skill ceiling than games like Quake 1
you can go fast without it feeling clunky or forced

with the quake 2 remaster out, i am once again reminded how much this game is just like quake. even the campaign starts with the same scenario - the fleet is shattered by the orbital defenses and your pod crash lands way off target, you now have to destroy the "Big Gun" on your own.
and the weapon arsenal is very much alike as well, you even have a "normal" shotgun (eva) and a "super" shotgun (mastiff), laser rifle - railgun, BFG10K - thunderbolt, hyperblaster - lstar.

Despite alldatshit, I like it. The maps are nice, I don't have to worry about elevens zipping and zooming, and I get matches instantly. Only thing that sucks is that there isn't anyone playing campaign and that there aren't that many weapons to use. Don't know how there's only like 80 people playing on TF1 and ~1000 on TF2 on PS4, and TF1 still connects to matches instantly without disconnects.

we do slide-hopping, you jump after sprint and hold down ctrl, while sliding let go of W and just do the usual turn mouse right + D and turn mouse left + A while hitting jump every time you land without ever letting go of ctrl. it's the usual quake bunnyhop but while sliding pretty much. you can search titanfall movement guides on youtube, there's a lot of them and there's a lot of more complex movement techs than the usual slidehop.
honestly the slidehop is enough to be better than 90% of groundwalkers that comprise this game's playerbase.

Maybe he was trying to get a reaction out of me but I don't know. I've run into competitive titanfall players who are of the opinion that those stable hitscan autos are the purest display of skill-based shooting and I don't get the perspective. They're clearly considerably better than everything else largely because they're so forgiving to use and so good at punishing open-area movement. IMO the game becomes lame when enough people are playing optimal, being flashy is what titanfall does better than any other multiplayer shooter and optimal CAR gameplay is more exhausting than exciting from what I've watched of typical comp and the people playing it
SMGgays have deluded themselves into thinking their bullet hoses takes skill because "at least I have to actually aim", unlike "noob tubes" that have splash damage. Which makes it funnier when you see the kill cam and they're just holding the trigger while flicking the cursor around the screen, missing 90% of their shots.
There's a strange perspective that hitscan is inherently more skillful because it's a binary thing of "react first, put crosshair on the man" and "less luck-based" than projectiles and I think that's pretty weak, too. For one thing, there's no movement rampup in Titanfall so even hitscan aimduels on the ground still need you to predict movement, secondly, reading your opponent's movement is a cool part of a movement shooter and it'd be nice if that was a greater part of the game, IMO.
It's just a hard tightrope to walk where I don't mind hitscan existing but the movement and lethality is king in my mind and hitscan hurts movement, but if you wanted to keep it the obvious thing to do would be to lessen lethality like quake, but I don't think that would be Titanfall at that point.

Her kit encourages a really homosexual playstyle where she runs off to farm grunts and killsteal for a minute, then she returns as a fricking invincible demigod if your team didn't focus on killing her the second she dropped. If she isn't killed immediately you're gonna be dealing with a titan that can easily out-damage every other titan in the game and walk away with more health at the end of the fight thanks to le battery goblin perk and energy siphon.
Once in a blue moon you might see the rare support Monarch, which is cool, but good fricking luck matching with non-homosexual Monarch users.

I've gone back to Titanfall 1 to see if it's like what I remember, and holy shit. This game is ass, or at least the meta is. If you thought stimgays and cargays were shit, then you haven't had the misfortune of playing against the Black folk who are left playing TF1. Half of these homosexuals abuse the frick out of the Smart Pistol and Arc Mines. Step a few meters out of range, or use cloak, however, and these shitters are left helpless as the pistol that does all their thinking for their hemispherectomied brain is rendered useless. There is little to no incentive to go fast. The maps are nice, but a good portion of them aren't really suited for b-hopping, only the open ones are. I can see why most thought this game was just COD with jet packs, it's because that's how most of these gays play. The worse part about it is that they don't see anything wrong with it, that's just how they play. I thought the complete lack of nips would lead to a lack of the "I mustu winnu foru da emperor's honoru!" attitude that nips have, gays aren't even trying to be gays, that's just their intrinsic gay property, their baseline homosexual state. Is CAR better than Alternator (w extended mag)? I used to be killed by CAR users pretty often in PvP.
CAR has low recoil and a good magazine size while the Alternator has higher damage per shot but has a smaller magazine. The CAR is more forgiving, but with the Alternator you can tap fire and kill pilots in three shots at range. I recommend pairing the Alternator with tactikill and fast mags, or gun runner and fast mags.

I got to gen11 back in 2017 and now I'm a shitter
I was relegated to playing on PS4 for around a year because my PC broke. I had completely regressed to using stim/hitscan weapons. Towards the end I was even using Tone most of the time. I figured I had gotten over my autism about hitscan weapons. Now I'm back on PC and midway through the second match I'm already back to using exclusively projectile weapons and hating hitscans. Nothing else feels as satisfying, it's good to be back.

Was a lifesaver during the worst of Respawn's neglect of 2, and has still been nice when I want to jump into a game immediately. Even still, as a modded version of a niche game it can be hard to find a good server for you. If you're on the east coast of america you should be willing to settle for EU servers, or vice versa, for example

EA has stopped forcing their devs to use frostbite for a long, long time. It was a mess of an engine. Only DICE knew how to use it, and even then, it was far from perfect.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Respawn just keeps using source for the titanfall/apex games. It's worked for them. There's a story from Titanfall's development where they were stressing over which engine to use and eventually a frustrated dev just pulls up hammer, pumps out a fun level and says "why aren't we using this" and so they did

Back when I was forced to play on eleven servers, there was this one gay who'd sit in one spot with multiple sightlines and beam everyone with the spitty. If you'd shoot him or if he'd hear you grappling, he'd use phase shift and dip out. I remember teabagging his ass when I'd finally kill him, but he'd just do the same when he'd kill me. Why are they like this? This is before I learned how to properly slingshot, otherwise I would have been able to get him, but even then, I imagine he'd still get me. He'd always manage to score too three with that tactic.

yeah, for all the talk of northstar being unable to be played by shitters because the skill diff is just too high, playing pubs when they're lively feels like a different skill entirely because they're so chaotic. good northstar players just play like comp players and the rest are fodder-y, a pub player jumping on for the first time in years is a complete wildcard

It has good splash damage so it's very forgiving to use. As far as projectile weapons go, sure, you could call it a noob weapon. But it's not even in the same league as the usual crutches people seethe about here, it's not a weapon that every newbie can pick up and do great with.

aiming only provides zoom on every gun except for stiff and kraber, you don't need it for anything else. try l-star or smr, they're still projectile but the projectiles themselves are fast and the rate of fire is very high.
