I played Valheim at release solo and thought it was boring as shit. Im having WAY more fun than that with Palworld. Despite the jank there are a lot of little things that give it SOVL. The animations on all the monsters are just amazing. If all they do is finish the campaign, flesh out the world, and add PROPER mod support. I really think it can hold up long term.
I'll get it on release. Really hope the devs commit to it to make it the best game they wanted to make now that they got all this popularity and sales.
Same, hope for something to fix that mid-late game grind for mats. Even just giving us more carrying capacity per level would be fine. However im expecting mods to fix this problem, if the devs dont.
What even is the mid-late game because our group just unlocked the 4th tier ball but ingot consumption alone is insane, we only have 1 camp set up for that so far but it feels like we'd need 2-3 camps just for ingots.
I'm hoping for some kind of automation to forge ingots. Right now you have to go back and forth issuing orders to forge ingots and picking it up and storing them
But maybe that's by design since they want you to visit your bases often, so you have an incentive to look at your pals and get invested in them instead of abandoning them as mindless drones. Ironic considering how the game is marketed as "FACTORY LINE SIMULATOR WITH 1000 PENGULLETS"
No. Ore is the last resource you can fully automate. Late game stuff like polymer, carbon fiber, and circuit boards all need stuff that the pals can't just mine for/generate. It's all stuff that you have to go out and get, which is when most people drop the game because it's just too tedious and boring. If they add a way to automate it, or add in a pal that can just generate those resources then it'd help immensly.
Polymer and Circuit Boards are pretty much only used in one-time stuff, you might need a small amount to repair your weapons eventually, assuming you even use weapons instead of just pals, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue.
You could technically automate coal the same way you can with ore, by building a base next to the nodes, but the only place I've found multiple nodes together does not have the terrain for automated mining (it's on a cliff and pals would definitely get stuck constantly)
Besides iron I don't think mining pals actually mine naturally occurring nodes
I've set up a base with a sulphur node inside it and I still have to mine it manually.

I think that's more the ai being shit than anything. Like the other tranon said, I've got a coal base set up and they mine it for me so you can automate the enhanced ingots. But again you can't automate anything after that, so it's just grinding up levels to one shot the bossmons and then dropping the game.

Maybe you need tier 3 mining for it or something
Is there a location with multiple coal nodes?
Anonymous
The only one I've found so far is directly northeast of the Duneshelter teleporter in the desert. It's about a third of the way up the big mountain on the south-facing cliff. I don't think I could build a functional base there though

>Is there a location with multiple coal nodes?
There's a spot on a cliff on the bottom right of the desert that has like 8 coal nodes. I can't explain it more than that, but when you see it, you'll know. And since it's on a cliff, raiders won't get up to you. That seems like it doesn't matter, but when the game glitches and you get 5 raid happen on your base at once and they just come in and suicide bomb hours of work away, you too will start becoming a cliff chad.

if there's a cliff anywhere within your base circle or like 10 steps from it, your pals will constantly get stuck. Also don't build any structures or they'll get stuck on the roofs.

I know. This'll be a mining base, ya dingus. Just put down some beds, a food trough, a bath so they don't get stressed, a storage box, and a furnace, and you're done. Either take 500 berries that I know you're sitting on and throw them in the trough, or plant 2 berry farms and put in the appropriate planting/watering mons on the base and boom, you now have a low space, low investment, and fully automated advanced ingot base. You're whalecum.
Musket hits harder, especially on a weak spot hit, and hits instantly but the loading time is significantly longer.
I suspect the crossbow has a higher DPS in longer fights, but the musket’s first strike will frick up most level appropriate enemies before the fight’s even started.
i mean, firearms safety is pretty new, so i imagine it happened a lot more than we with our modern sensibilities would be comfortable with
still a baller reload animation if not totally accurate
Its pretty solid but nothing crazy, its a base building survivial game through and through, fun progression and good at eating time but ultimately pretty hollow
But the seethe its creating is great
it's pretty fun but needs a lot of bug fixing and quality of life shit. not to mention a bit more control of your slave pals in your bases. Other than that a solid 100 ish hours. more if you're into building proper bases and more if you're gonna do breeding for perfect pals autism
didnt refund it cause i got caught up playing with friends but friends are like 99% of why its fun at all. its an open world survival crafter and there is no changing that no matter if you can automate the shittier parts. there is nothing interesting about the world itself. a ton of bugs. it really is boring as shit.
people keep comparing it to pokemon and if those are the only two games you play then sure it's good. if you play actual video games then it's boring as shit and sucks dick.
I don't know what crack you're smoking cause I've been playing mainly solo and I'm having a blast. I haven't been into a game this much in quite some time. I did try multiplayer, but public servers are really laggy, making it harder to enjoy for me
The little details kinda kill it for me
Why only 3 bases? Should be at least 10
Why I can't use my characters in other worlds?
And damn game gets unplayable when there is 20 pals fighting at the same time
Also game chat is garbage
It's surprisingly well refined for an early access game, but also still fairly janky in some ways. Core game is pretty solid. Monsters are cute and well designed, there are a few recolors but they fit together better than the pokemon all do at this pointt.
No, but it's kinda weird because there are some pals that are clearly evolutions of one another. I wonder if they had evolution and took it out in favor of using abilities for more differentiation of pals. Many of the smaller low level pals have powerful activation abilities that make up for lower overall power. In harder fights I find myself cycling between them a bunch, mixed in with tanky bigger stuff when the actives are on cooldown.
I would consider Pal evolution to be a waste, since each pal has detailed animations for every single task. Imagining a whole species becoming obsolete after all that work is kinda sad, so I could get why the devs would want to do that.
On the one hand Pokemon is so ubiquitous that it's conditioned me to expect evolutions from a game like this but, admittedly, it doesn't actually feel like evolutions would add anything of substance to the game.
Overall, I think I'd rather just have more variants of existing pals rather than evolution lines.
Every Pal in this game has a niche thanks to Pal abilities. Even Lamball can be useful as a meat shield. Evolutions are cool but are ultimately a waste of space
>I wonder if they had evolution and took it out in favor of using abilities for more differentiation of pals
They didn't want to risk getting sued more than what they already are
Actually some of them have special upgraded versions that look like a shiny and you can upgrade one of your base versions to the stronger version with special items later. Most of them are level 40+ though so don't even think about it until later.
Actually some of them have special upgraded versions that look like a shiny and you can upgrade one of your base versions to the stronger version with special items later. Most of them are level 40+ though so don't even think about it until later.
You can get them by fuzing them with a pal of their extra typing
Lyleen x dark type etc
Its good enough. Going to draw porn of the Daedream latter. I'm thinking floating upside down with her shortstack ass in the viewers face, while she's struggling to give a sloppy blowjob.
So when I started it up it is like Breath of the Wild mashed with Pokemon. I like the pal thing and that they can have gear and the base management, but frankly I think doing dragonquest builders 2 or fallout 4 would be better. If you got disposable income and time to kill, go for it, but it will be forgotten quickly.
>So when I started it up it is like Breath of the Wild mashed with Pokemon.
crazy how many people kept saying that's what they wanted from pokemon and look how nintendo has missed out
I just downloaded it today and didn't get very much done but I am enjoying myself so far.
Surprisingly polished for an early access game, it seems like a lot of passion went into it. Looking forward to playing more.
My only complaints are that I wish the character creator had more options like height and stuff and the game seems to be very resource hungry.
The graphics aren't very impressive but when running on my 1660ti on medium settings it uses 70%, while games that are more graphically impressive run around 30% on high.
That's not what happened. The owl is a wild pal. The salamander ran it over and has trample damage by default, so it aggro'd the owl. The owl attacked the friendly salamander so it aggro'd the rest of the base and they shot the shit out of it.
I dont see whats so jank about your video
the owl isnt a member of the base just a wandering pal otherwise chillet wouldnt have been able to damage it by running into it.
the only jank ive seen in this game has been pathing issues and enemies clipping through the ground
i would find this fun if i woke up from a coma and forgot about every other game that exists.
why play this sub average shovelware when you can play games that are infinitely better and dont make a mockery of how easy you want to turn your brain off and slop up
Palworld might actually be the pokemon killer this time. None of those other things topped the steam charts, and game freak really dropped the pokeball with the latest installments
It's not gonna kill Pokemon, but it has a chance of making Gamefreak change something.

>making Gamefreak change something.
The only competitor that managed to spark a reaction from GF was Yokai Watch, and all they did was add the dumb Rotom Pokedex. At most, they'll add some superficial gimick to the next game and not change a single thing about the core gameplay

>core gameplay
The core gameplay is fine. Turn-based combat, capturing Pokémon and training them and so on.
The issue with the combat is that most battles are mind-numbingly boring. Making it through a cave could be fun in the first games, but now everything is way too easy. Also even with the shared XP feature the game discourages you to use too many different Pokémon, because having a handful strong ones is much more efficient.
This all could be changed by simply tweaking the difficulty and improving the variety of regions. But hey it's a game for children, so better let them mindlessly press the a button repeatedly until the five rattatas of the enemy trainer are defeated.
>Digimon might actually be the pokemon killer this time >Yokaiwatch might actually be the pokemon killer this time
MH might actually be the pokemon killer this time >temtem might actually be the pokemon killer this time >Palworld might actually be the pokemon killer this time
You are here. >nextgimmick might actually be the pokemon killer this time >nextgimmick+1 might actually be the pokemon killer this time >nextgimmick+2 might actually be the pokemon killer this time >nextgimmick+3 might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>The only people who care about pokemon games are children and manchildren.
Ah so you mean the target audience the franchise was made for since the beginning? Also, the latest games literally sold 25+ million. All this talk about how Pokemon is failing, no-one cares and whatnot seems like seethe and cope from some people about it continuing to be successful, despite their dislike. Honestly pretty sad that grown-ass adults have it living rent free in their heads.

Nice non-rebuttal because you can't actually make a retort to what was said. Pretty standard for the "people" on this site. Go on and consoom the dogshit early access Open World survival game number 64857382836173 because you're trying to "get back" at a fantasy monster pet catching franchise for for children not catering to/making you happy anymore.
Pokémon is held back by the bureaucracy of TCPI and Nintendo and the incompetence of Gay Freaks. None of what Palworld does would be allowed in an official Pokémon game and Gay Freaks can only hope to make a game run as smooth

I'm sorry but game freak has no excuse they've been shitting the bed for over a decade now, the fact that a small indie studio was able to btfo them this easily just shows how little they care about actually making a good game as opposed to just creating new marketable plushies.
I will never understand this cope from Gamefreak buttlickers that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are "good." If anything it shows just what an even more inept dev Gamefreak is when they have to try and punch even the teensiest bit closer to their actual weight class.
As a fan of old Pokemon and hater of nu-Pokemon I can confidently say its a funner Legends Arceus. They actually spent time on the arpg mechanics rather than doing the turn based hybrid PLA did, which PLA didn't even fricking use because there are like 10 turn based battles in their entire game. It's just as repetitive as PLA if not more, but I'm enjoying it.
Yeah, it's Ark but the dinosaurs are cheap pokemons. Nobody actually dies here, they and you faint so it's better than Ark, but i believe there's an item for actually butchering the mons alive, not sure...
These mons don't evolve, but there are crossbred species (which can be found in the wild too). There are also good and bad traits you can breed for like stronger, weaker, better at handywork, etc... Duplicates can be compressed to get a buffed mon
Basically it has almost nothing to do with pokemon, it's just a better Ark, so if you had some fun with that you should try this one too
I don't play alot of the open world games so it's a decent change of pace. You can tell that it is still in beta because it's weak in alot of places. I want it to be more bujt expecting them to improve it after making so much isn't likely. But I didn't spend much on it and I've enjoyed it more than pokemon in the last 2-3 generations, which isn't saying alot.
I tried it on gamepass. it was okay. it's your typical early access survival/crafting game. it's unique that you can automate some tedious stuff with the Pokemon, but the game play is pretty much just like Valheim/Ark with less jank.
I can see why it's popular, it's Minecraft + Pokemon with a hint of breath of the wild. zoomers are probably shitting their pants over this one.
I keep falling thru the map when I'm trying to explore with at least 8 locations having nonsolid ground, I keep having weird damage applications happen like dying to being on fire with the fire taking me from full shield and 980 hp to 0 because the fire bugged out and did not stop after time had passed and the coming back with the damage over time still going on until I relaunch the game, I've had 6 crashes so far, the survival crafting main focus is alright since I can delegate most of the basic material gathering to the slavemon working at infinitely available wood and stone stations, some of the gimmicks are worth a laugh, it's an okay game but I'll probably drop it when the next game I give a shit about comes out.
Also the AI is moronic with slavemon getting stuck in stupid ways while I'm off doing stuff then starving to death instead of working and the base attacks not actually doing anything because they get a bit lost, can be killed without them reacting if you get to them outside your base, and if they can't reach your base after a certain amount of time the just give up and go home.
I've got 30 hours, slightly over half of the dex filled out. It's alright, really not deserving of the hype but I'm killing time with it and that's all that really matters to me, lots of stupid jank killing my comfy vibe, the base and enemy ai is painfully dumb and has so many quirks that prevent it from working the way it should. I kept spending hours remodeling my base every day up until now mostly to accomodate things getting stuck, but I think I'm happy with it and looking at the tech tree nothing else needs to be replaced in the future. Going to focus on exploration now. Biggest complaint is they seriously need to add some sort of auto-unstuck feature for base monsters that aren't preforming an action but haven't moved in a couple minutes, too many times something gets randomly stuck on a roof or a treetop and starves itself for half an hour until I take notice.
I've played some open world crafting whatever the fricks and none of them really stuck, but the not-pokemon really do add to the experience and make me enjoy it more. my only real gripe is the dumb edgy shit they've shoved in, like the bloodied baseball bat you get, or the enslaving people shit, or the butchery shit, or the fricking real guns. like its funny out of context but like most of the game just feels like a open world pokemon with crafting and base building so having you run into raiders with desert eagles and shit just starts to feel dumb as frick. I think if the game was more 'all ages' and just presented itself as a more normal game instead of having this weird semi-cynical angle to it I'd enjoy it more
Mod support is planned in the future so, while it doesn't do you much good for the moment, I imagine at some later date you'll be able to tone a lot of that sort of thing down.
I feel like most of the people saying the game is fun have not reached the midpoint, looked back at the progress up to that point, and thought: why are there so many bloat items in the tech tree, and why are there upgrades later on that make no sense being so late game? Like I don't understand how nobody is talking about it but I'm assuming most people have not played as much as I have at this point i guess.
The tech tree definitely feels like a mess, even fairly early on there are some utterly baffling decisions like why are large walls so many levels ahead of the large gate?
Exactly, you have shit like mounted crossbows being unlocked with handguns, and then having several levels with different bows and arrows for very little purpose. you unlock the first sword in the game at level 44.
I've played for 23 hours and still enjoying my time, I also set the pacing a lot slower by increasing the difficulty and lowering exp gain which makes catching things and combat feel actually meaningful.
Don't talk bad about the current hype machine! You need to wait at least another week or so before everyone begins to hate it because their dopamine receptors are fried up
Yeah, I think I'm starting to reach the point where the fun is starting to taper off.
I'm still having fun, but I can feel it starting to get slowly chipped away at.
went into it expecting jank and to not care for survival stuff
ended up being much more polished than i thought and the survival stuff was fun too
but the mons are the stars, they are more sovlful than pokemon
glad i bought it, don't really care what the devs do in the future but if they add more shit i'm down to try it
not interested in pvp though
I'd really appreciate more fine-grain control of pals, right now it feels like the only reliable way to get pals to fight is setting them to aggressive and lobbing them directly at targets like a grenade.
They should add in hotkeys for calling and sending out Pals. A targeting system would work wonders as well. I think they can afford 3 more keys to trigger Pal skills too. PSO2 managed to be playable with controller because of good control schemes
Only doable in normal mode, trying to catch them when they're a battalion with 4x damage is just bullshit and it's even worse in multiplayer with the lag.
It also multiplies the boss fights except the towers which makes it even worse.
just adjust damage, I've already lowered it because it's just too high in general. additional lag isn't noticeable on 4 player servers, and everyone loves the increased soul/loot. definitely need to be able to not apply to boss mobs though
It's honestly a fun game though very flawed. It's poorly optimized, caves aren't very fun to explore and there's a good amount of bugs, but the gameplay loop of exploring and discovering new pals, unlocking new abilities and builds and returning to your base to build more shit and watch your critters slave away is very appealing. None of those mechanics are original on their own, but together they make something that actually feels quite fresh
It's janky as frick but fun. Like people have said it's similar to Ark but capturing isn't as tedious. Defo needs longer in the oven but it could be a really fun game. Dedicated servers are a lag fest and no PVP makes it less fun, I hate having to wait for my bro to come online so I can play my most advanced session.
Evolutions allow you to have a favorite pal that you go an entire adventure with, but the entire adventure isn't really a part of palworld, palword is pretty cold and more about efficiency. The fact that the only real way to level is to capture 10 of each pal doesn't help. There is no way to go through the game with a single team of pals without capturing more. Something like a nuzlock run is impossible currently, at least not without a million years of grinding.
It's a generic mine and craft game, yeah the pals are cute but everything feels pointless >Dude you have to craft the thing so you can get more resources! >"Ok why" >So then you can craft the thing that lets you get even more resources! >"For?" >To craft the thing that gives you more resources of course!
It's a glorified cookie clicker, at the risk of sounding like a pretentious c**t I think people are mistaking the game being addicting as it being fun, I fell for the trap myself for a good whole days until I realized hey actually the game sucks
Yeah, RPGs actually have a story and an objective, even some basic shit lile killing a demon lord.
Currently Palworld lacks a tangible reason for raising Pals. I actually do much better on my own fighting monsters than using pals with how OP my character is.
But as
Game is currently lacking a real objective, and NPCs.
said, game also lacks "life" and notable characters. You fight bosses but don't know why yet. Just give them more dialogue, allow you to meet them outside once you have beaten them, anything.
I'm already bored of it. I played like 10 hours but it's just the same thing. >janky structure building that isn't even needed, structures are useless and get in the way >player is weak as frick >pals just run around auto battling shit, difficult to control >bosses are just big mobs >after the first hour or 2, you've played the whole game
if base building was meaningful, maybe, but there's no "survival". The raids are mostly just a nuisance since you're already dealing with annoying terrain issues
that's neat anon, really cool. I could too, but it doesn't mean I want to reload my crossbow 60-100 times. The bosses are literally just mobs with 3 abilities and shit ai, not interesting at all.
Actual criticism from someone who likes the game: >combat is very shallow; all melee weapons feel the same, ranged weapons are mostly the same, and pals are mostly there to draw aggro/add dps instead of there being actual strategy like in a turn-based game >progression is very linear in every regard, which is bad when your progress resets every time you join a server >no evolution or meaningful growth means early game pals are objectively shit with no redeeming features >leveling feels incredibly unbalanced, where the only real option to progress is to catch ten of everything you find, making battling/crafting/etc useless for exp >dungeons are all the same, only five "gyms", not enough content >almost no music, there's an attempt at lore with the logs but it falls flat, cutscenes convey very little >the studio has already announced their next game so this is probably going to get abandoned just like Craftopia (but maybe the insane sales numbers will convince them otherwise)
A lot of that can be fixed with content patches, though.
That being said, I think it's an incredibly good formula and getting to actually interact with my Pokemon and build a little home with them is exactly what I had hoped Game Freak would have done decades ago. And the designs are fricking great for my dick.
Honestly I have been keeping my base level low so the raids only send like lvl 15-17 guys at me.
I've heard the moment you go to like 13 or 14 it just jumps them to lvl 30 or some shit real fast.
>Every pal has a use even if not for combat
Not really?
In terms of base tasks, early game pals can only do 1-3 things while later ones can do so much more.
Like why would you have a Foxsparks in your base when it only has kindling, whereas something like Flambelle has Kindling, Handiwork, Transporting, Farming, AND drops Flame Organs?
In terms of passives, stuff like Cattiva increasing your weight capacity gets outclassed by Broncherry having the same passive while ALSO being a mount.
In terms of mounts, most of the abilities are fricking useless like Melpaca doing nothing or Rushoar breaking boulders.
There's very clearly an intended hierarchy and progression you go through. Once you have access to certain Pals, the early game ones get outclassed completely.
>"Everyone one has at least one use outside of combat." >"Not really? They actually have at least one to three things or even more."
Holy shit, you're actually dyslexic.
Did you misread my post?
Most Pals have stronger, more versatile counterparts you encounter later in the game. Direct, objective upgrades.
There's little to no reason to use early game pals past a certain point, other than aesthetics.

Flambelle can't be used as a flamethrower. I don't know why you're comparing the base powers of the flamethrower and a base bawd and then saying one does everything the other does and is a strict upgrade when one of them can't be a flamethrower. Like I can reverse your logic and say in combat Flambelle is strictly outclassed because it can only fight normally while Foxsparks can do that AND be a flamethrower when you want to.
Foxsparks, Lifmunk and Tanzee have specific pal abilities that make them high DPS pals in combat. Certain pals like Woolipop and Beegarde give you sanity food and are always useful despite being early game pals. Chickipi is needed to make cake and t has to one of the first pals you meet. Some will be terrible but that’s unavoidable or even intentional on the part of the developers
NTA but there is a lot of jank, either with floating stones and wood, terrain that doesn't match its model allowing you to walk on air, pals knocking themselves out when you go from base to base or flat out not eating because they got stuck somewhere.
Not yet but 100% I'll be buying it on payday. Anything that BTFO tendies and Pokegays deserves support. It's what the tendies deserve for continually supporting the low quality slop Gamefreak shits out despite having 10000x the budget of Palworld.
It's almost the perfect combination of MHFU, BotW, Pokemon Legends Arceus, and Fortnite. But I can easily see the options that makes the game so fricking fun before removed in favour of forcing micro-transactions at the level of a dime-a-dozen Korean MMO.
this game pisses me off because i can't tell what people like about the gameplay. friend says he likes it but he's just laid back in his chair looking like he's about to fall asleep walking at a pal while shooting it or running around in circles in his base accomplishing nothing in particular. i genuinely don't comprehend at what point he extracts enjoyment out of playing it.
tried it for a bit but even with an audiobook on it wasn't engaging enough to actually sit down and devote main monitor attention to. the one redeeming quality is that it's pissing on nintendo.
haven't really had fun with any game since dead cells.
A lot of the fun comes from just the variation in what you can do with pals. Every pal has at minimum >Support abilities like mounts/being used as weapons >Combat abilities >Can be bred for better passives >Can be butchered >At least one way to help around camp >Can be pet >Can be picked up and thrown
And that's the bare minimum. Most have more. Aside from the intrinsic enjoyment of seeing your crew come help you build something or butchering someone who's annoying you, a lot of the game's fun is about optimizing bases to be self sufficient while still producing whatever resources you need. Its not about the moment to moment combat any more than factorio is.
>Support abilities like mounts/being used as weapons >Combat abilities >Can be bred for better passives >Can be picked up and thrown
And none of them are relevant because the game is piss easy and you can simply clear the handful of bosses that are in the game by running around while the pals do the job for you
And don't tell me one day it will have a competitive aspect so wait for that because you know only 10 pals will be usable
The camp stuff also feels worthless, it's just a crappy factorio
>And none of them are relevant because the game is piss easy and you can simply clear the handful of bosses that are in the game by running around while the pals do the job for you
Sure but only if you level up your pals first. And that takes time. I barely beat the first tower boss because I was underleveled.
> And don't tell me one day it will have a competitive aspect so wait for that because you know only 10 pals will be usable
Who knows, it's still in early access.
> The camp stuff also feels worthless, it's just a crappy factorio
I disagree. You actually need to craft shit if you want good gear and equipment.
>The game is easy
So? Every game doesn't have to be Ninja Gaiden. If you want to spend five minutes circle strafing because you couldn't be bothered to team craft you're allowed to in the same way you can slowly build everything yourself without help.
Normally I'll pick a Pal up and throw them in the direction of the base camp task I want them to focus on and they will seemingly automatically assign themselves to doing it, unless they are not able to.
And then when I caught my first big Pal I was losing my shit for like ten minutes, thinking there would be a size limit to what you can grab. There is not, unless the Pal adds more then fifty pounds above your maximum carrying capacity, another cool detail is how you slow down with more additional weight until you literally cannot walk when holding too much.
A lot of these little charmful details like how you one arm strong man hoist any Pal of any size, or even the sleep animation and camera angle, makes this feel like Monster Hunter. Especially the PSP titles. It easily makes me imagine my Pals as trainable Felynes.
>Normally I'll pick a Pal up and throw them in the direction of the base camp task I want them to focus on and they will seemingly automatically assign themselves to doing it
This feature seems really buggy. I have to be very specific about where I throw them in order for them to latch on otherwise they just run away immediately.
Also usually when I throw something into a mill or crusher a penguin will just run over and do it. Sometimes it doesn't though and I have to throw one. But if I throw one, it won't leave when it's done so I have to manually remove it so it's not just doing nothing.
No. Whenever a big game comes along that explodes the board comes along, it's better to wait and see if it sticks around or if it dies.
Palworld will only stay blazing along like this for a little while unless something happens, the game needs a bugfix patch and a balance patch before people can really latch onto it, and wont last super long without a bit more content.
If they made a /vpal/ or whatever, there'd be a high chance that the board would simply be dead a week later.
i'd rather we get an aislop containment board first
all the good hentai/porn threads are 50% aishit now to the point that we dont get any actual OC anymore.
boring as shit just like all these style of games are. the survival genre and minecraft like shit in general is proof that zoomers are a bunch of no fun having autists who like busy work.
It’s got a solid foundation. It primarily needs to add quality of life features (like making it easier to dismantle a base, or not requiring a chest next to a resource gathering building so you don’t get instantly immobilised when you acquire them), more music and better pathfinding.
I’ve been able to win boss fights 10+ levels above me by just having Chill Chadlet stunlock enemies with his basic movement while I shoot at them
It's more fun than Pokemon has been in 20 years. And more fun than BotW/TotK. As far as open world survival crafting games, I would put it up there with Subnautica, Ark, and Valheim.
Thoughts, in no particular order: >ARK with some Pokemon-y bits, not a Pokemon game. I'm... okay with this, it mostly just reminds me of ARK but with most of the shittier stuff taken out >all stats suck except carry capacity and a little stamina, maybe a little HP too, but mostly carry capacity >melee sucks for a lot of reasons >4 hours in, still no guns. This is probably a good thing. Found some ammo off a guy though >pathfinding sucks ass >gathering/crafting/harvesting/building is pretty cool >gameplay is alright overall >a-are those panties??? >god this world's big >god that big elephant thing is big >awww yeaahhhh frickin' flamethrower fox >oh shit it lights the area up when it walks around! >damn, mounting is cool, frickin' alpacamon >COMBAT while mounted? AND you can use your weapons if you want? Neat! >huh, I wonder if there's something behind this waterfall? N-...WHAT??? You can climb walls!?!?! >oh shit you can climb ANY wall? >oh man, bows are so much cooler than melee, frick that stabbing animation >fricking chicken full of rare combat traits, damn >man, you really can't take a hit in this game, huh? >dodge roll is nice, but ugh... I wish melee didn't suck >why's my armor half broken, I only got hit twice?! >god, so many damn eggs, when do I get an incubator again? >god, my base location sucks, I need to move it >ooh, shiny thing >ooh, poison bow >ooh, better farm poison arrows >god damn it, no pausing in this game? That sucks, I hope they patch that in for singleplayer worlds >man, I need [facility], when do I unlock it? I'm level [x]. Oh, [x+1] >TEN of each Pal? homie what, my boxes are such a mess... ughhhhhhh >kinda reminds me of Valheim, but without that shit-ass progression >or ARK without wasting 200GB on a game that ganks you every five seconds because it's """hardcore""" >I wonder what mods this'll get? >god damn, melee sucks ass >god damn I hope they rebalance the stats to make them useful. Two fricking percent? Per point??
>or ARK without wasting 200GB on a game that ganks you every five seconds because it's """hardcore"""
i always wondered why some survival games are gazillion gigs big
Warm mediocre.
It's a survival crafter with automization features, and also it has pokemon in it, mostly for the automization features and kinda the combat.
If you like the idea of pokemon but hate the games, this captures the vibe, but besides that, it really has nothing to do with pokemon.
It has a nice loop, and does a good job of securing the atmosphere of building a compound in the wilderness somewhere. Has a bit of a mishmash of rudimentary systems, and oddly polished systems that feels early access as frick, and the balance of materials to exp is off. I've had more food and base materials than I can imagine uses for, since like, 3 hours in, but am chronically stuck needing to go grind for levels.
It's fun and easy to get lost in, but isn't super special.
Highlights of my experience have been a huge monster wandering near my base, and it getting swarmed to death by my army of laborers, checking off traversal challenges with gear and dudes, and just enjoying looking at the system of labor I've set up.
Gripes are questionable pathing AI for the pals getting them stuck or having them not acknowledge furniture, combat feels really sloppy, and the aforementioned slow EXP gain capping your ability to throw yourself into base building.
I'm a homosexual with 500 hours in Legends Arceus from how much fun I had using it as a light MonHun Freedom Unite and nta, but
You're a fricking moron who's not getting the point. In Pokemon, the same flame effect spews out from the face area of every Pokemon with a fire attack as they hold a pose. In Palworld, each Pal with fire abilities has a unique animation that goes with whatever type of flame they're making.
And you're not getting the point.
It's like walking into a discussion about the similarities between living in space as opposed to living under water and you walk in to comment, "Water is blue."
Yeah, nah, there's NOTHING interesting in this half-assed turn based bullshit that Pokemon has becom- nO! THAT POKEMON IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN. FRICK Pokemon. LITERALLY.
It's a fun game/concept, specially having the pals around your base and automatizing stuff with them. The game does a good job at mixing and matching mechanics of survival/base building/automation and catching/managing the pals.
All that being said, the combat is shit since it's just smacking or shooting at things, the game feels janky in certain aspects and has some bugs, the connection in multiplayer could be worked on, and I have 0 faith that the devs will support the game properly since this is already their third game in early access and they are developing more new games too before finishing anything.
Its okay >Designs are forgettable but not temtem levels >Overall gameplay loops solid >Not really anything like pokemon despite what all the shitposters are arguing about. >Simple to play and everythings fairly well readable so you dont have something like Rimworlds complexity driving people away
Issues >Replayability will be dogshit
I cant see someone wanting to do a new server a month from now and need to relevel up by catching the same early game pokemon all over again
Map not being randomized feeds into this
Also finding all the stupid green things though once you get a decent flyer thats not huge. The fricking sulphur grind will be >Combat works I guess but its mostly brainless with leave it all to the buggy as shit pals vs the buggy as shit enemies >Pathfinding of stuff is a joke, honestly makes the game easy because most enemies literally cannot a moving target >Attack readability is awful meaning weird uneven difficulty. Stuff like the manta rays early on being stronger than fricking anything else in the game except the robin hood dudes because their attack is some 500 mph no animation water attack >Not enough resources, enjoy mining sulphur and ore because its all you will be doing barring the ranch materials >Building is fricking awful. I dont expect to see many really elaborate and amazing visual bases like Valheim or Minecraft because of it >Unbelievably buggy
I had to delete an entire base because some spawning ore deposit would break the AI of my assigned pals and every time I would fast travel there half would be injured from starvation over being stuck on terrain.
Ultimately its fine and fun, dont think it has staying power but morons need to accept games can just be FOTM
morons saying "it will be the new minecraft" are shitposting, but people saying it will be the next tortanic and its not actually people having fun are equally stupid.
I couldn't get a base built on any of the official servers and I refuse to play these games "alone" in single player. So after an hour of failing to get a palbox down. I gave up, called in the refund for my $30.
Still got an itch to play more and I wish I could have delved deeper into it, but whatever. I'd rather have my money at that point. Capping servers at 32 and then letting people have more than one base is a terrible idea. I will not be missed as a customer or player. This is fine.
someone redpill me on this game, i think it looks cool but i also get the feeling im not going to like it, i get bored easily of survival crafting type things
i played rust for like 1 hour, valheim i beat the first boss or two then quit when i had to farm materials to make a boat
that being said i am not completely opposed to tism grinders as i did play shit like POE or ragnarok a lot
I will be honest, no shitposting. Survival aspect barely exists because you can setup a berry/egg farm and never be hungry again. I love some crafting automation autism games but pals sometimes glitch and stop working. It has potential but i see it becoming more factorio and less fartnite. Exploration is already weak. Flying is weird, it has too much weight.
with how finnicky and hard to perfect the pal AI is I doubt they'll go super hard into automation, making a complex chain of production isn't fun if something can break anywhere at any time
I don't know why but I was a tad disappointed when I started starving the first time an just ate a pile of raw meat from some of the pals I killed. Not sure what I expected either, maybe even just having to cook it, but nah. You can just eat crumbs off the floor forever and be fine.

Finding the best experience for the game will take some experimentation, I think making raid more frequent in the world options would spice things up.
went in expecting it to be fotm trash and to refund it at 1h 59min
ended up actually liking it.
its basically anime pokemon reskin of Medieval Dynasty.
you do quests, farm resources and build shit to eventually automate everything via NPCs.
Cool concept. A concept pokemon fans have wanted since childhood. They're gonna frick it up though. When hasn't a game with a solid gimmick not done that?
What are the armors like? Is there many of them? Is there room for the end game just to be FashionWorld, or is there like 4 sets of armor and frick all else?
There are not that many armors as far as I can tell, the only difference between them is their defense value and their heat or cold resistance, plus they look kinda shit on male characters.
Think theres 5, each with 3 color variations, normal hot cold. There are different rarity levels, theres a decent varitity of hats.
The games not hard enough that you need to min max your shit. Play fashion if you want. The high rarity armors do have downsides in weight and how much it takes to repair compared to normal base ones.

I think the game is pretty perfect as is after you remove hunger. Stamina is plenty to deal with without adding fricking hunger mechanics to it.
It's interesting. I lost interest in it while playing single player. I'm interested in what multiplayer PvP servers would look like when it fully releases but for now it's not unique enough to garner a full playthrough.
I'm enjoying it but it's just Conan Exiles with less content and your slaves aren't big titty women in loincloths. So I kinda spend my playtime wondering if I should just get back into Conan Exiles instead, but single player Conan feels kinda lame and I don't like having to log in to a server every 3 days or my shit disappears to make room for other players.
its pretty much a mashup of Ark + Conan+ PLA which works surprisingly well and open world games are always pretty enjoyable during the "I haven't explored everything yet"
biggest issues are its janky as frick, the ingot bottleneck is real and something I'm surprised I've seen virtually nothing of is that even if you have a private or passworded dedicated server, hackers can easily get in and nuke pretty much everything
Painfully generic, completely unfun. If you've played any "open world" game with levels, companions, capeshit-dialogue, bugs/glitches/crashes, and "player choice" in the past 15-20 years, you've played this.
Basically Starfield but you're followed by Edgy-Pikachu instead of a horny mommy. Zoomers, s0ibois, and women will love it.
>Basically Starfield
Oh please. Tod Howard wishes he could make starfield half as engaging as this game.
Tod, if you're reading this, your games suck ass and require mods to be enjoyable right off the bat.
I've never played any pokemon game but this game is pretty fun. The monsters are funny and cute. I understand why it sells like hotcakes. These monsters are very well designed and animated. Amerimutts or chinks wouldn't be able to make these things.
Ya, I know, that's kind of the whole reason why I fricking meme arrowed the word "chinks" while replying to someone who called them "chinks", because they are not "chinks", you paint-guzzling moron.
FYI breeding allows pals to inherit passive skills from the parents (random chance + chance to get new random skills of course). Managed to get a Beakon with Swift, Musclehead (+30% atk -50% work) and Ferocious (+20% atk) at the same time. Too bad Motivational Leader does not function
Played it with some friends and also my nephew, I think the Pokemon catching mechanics make it slightly more enjoyable than other games I played in the genre, that being said at its core it's just another one of those early access survival sloppers, plagued by the same issues. It feels unfinished, janky, buggy, art direction is all over the place, and even if you look past all those issues, it still turns into a tedious grinder the further you progress, and fails to give you any real goal or purpose, cause the map is just an empty uninteractive wasteland with a bunch of Fakemon scattered all over.
The game asks you to make your own fun, and to me that just comes off as lazy, cause in a multiplayer environment you could also make your own fun out of a pack of toothpicks.
Monster Hunter has actual gameplay, this is just standing and watching the creatures shoot colorful projectiles at one another, and optionally fire your peashooter that does jackshit for damage once in a while to make it feel like you're actively participating, when in reality the game plays itself.
The ultimate goal of the game is to build a self sustaining weapon mill that can power you and your pals up enough to take on the various bosses. It's really not that different from MonHun, the devs just need to add a proper endgame and maybe fix the pacing.
You're not wrong about the art direction and the jank, but for me a lot of the fun right now is the building. Builder games never give you 100% freedom to make the structures you want, so for me part of the fun is figuring out what I can get away with.
I'm in the process of moving my whole base to an ore spot at the top of a mountain with a gorgeous view and building my house is genuinely engaging.
pokemon autists started it but now it's mostly just people pretending to be mad and people pretending to be mad at the people who are pretending to be mad
Because there's a solid chance they're using slightly modified assets from other games. However I think that stealing from Gamefreak is perfectly ethical so its fine
I hope on hands and bended knees that they don't go full lore autism, just keep it as a fun game leave that shit in Ark and ignore the spergs that keep making hour long documentaries on a vague piece of text.
Better yet, make another piece of vague text that seems to connect with the first one, and let them make more documentaries about your game, enjoy kids joining your game just to play and find same pieces of text while you are making money from them
It's fun.
I'm level 21, I think, and I kind of feel the game starting to slow down as far as those dopamine hits go, but I'm still having a blast.
I'll probably tire of it in a week or two, but for now, I'll continue playing and having fun.
Also, can't wait for a good UEVR profile. The one that I found is pure jank.
Also also, congratulations to whoever was in charge of the animations, the critters in these games are so animated.
I've seen some people saying that it runs fine, so guess.
I play it on a RTX 2060 notebook with a 9th gen i7 and it runs incredibly well. The draw distance is insane.
Not being able to evolve/digivolve/fuse/unlock/etc etc the monsters makes me feel less inclined to want to catch all of them, and rather just focus on the ones I want for their specific stuff. I came across some "Lucky" variant of an earlier Pal that, as far as I can see, is just larger than normal as its stats actually suck ass compared to the other one of his kind that I already have. And you can grind to get any Pal to change into their "Shiny" variant, so if a specific Pal is special to you, then you can choose if it's a "Shiny" variant or normal.
I started playing it yesterday, with relatively low expectations. People talk about it aping pokemon when holy shit do they take a lot from BOTW. (or Genshin, perhaps)
But it's still fun, and the designs are growing on me. I've not fought one of those big mammoths yet but one walks through my base every so often and it's very cute.
Game's not bad but you can tell there's uncompleted content and some stuff requires more polishing.
I'm very surprised with the game's good performance so far despite being a huge map (I'm playing solo).
Overall I think it's too early to tell if the game will turn out great or average~good.
If they follow the development model of Deep Rock or Satisfactory I can see this game becoming a must have for people that enjoy coop/adventure.
Unlike NMS they didn't try to outsell the game with stuff that's not implemented yet (beside PVP)
Personally I'd like to see more lore/npc/quest content. Maybe more interesting randomly generated event like the wandering merchant and the raids.
>I'm very surprised with the game's good performance so far despite being a huge map (I'm playing solo).
Right?
The fact that it runs as well as it does on my notebook is pretty amazing.
And yes, I'd love to see them start making the world feel more alive. More npcs, factions, events, storylines, etc.
That would make the game much more of an RPG, which would be neat as frick.
Pirate it and find out.
There's a lot of punching trees to build stuff at the beginning, if you enjoy slowly building your base up, it can be comfy I guess.
>will i enjoy this at a slow pace befitting my advanced years?
No grandpa, unironically slow turn based games are more your thing.
Thanks for the input. I did enjoy BG3 turn based mode, one really does slow down with advancing years and there's nothing short of performance enhancing drugs that can make you quick again.
Prepare yourselves.
I will give it a shot on steam, can't pirate it, wouldn't know how and i can't risk being hacked by russians/chinese/israelis
Do keep in mind that battles can be pretty active with a lot of dodging and getting out of the way of attacks, but that can be remedied by simply out-leveling the challenge.
I'm enjoying it. Biggest issues are pathing of Pals and their tendency to not actually do tasks that are available because the ai seems to be unaware of them randomly sometimes.
Still, I expect I'll get another two weeks out of it and thats plenty for a $30 game.
I was progressing nicely. Built my second base in a more open location.
Three times in one day I've gone there to find two of those giant green elephants piss stomping everything to death. They're level 32 or so and I'm in the mid 20s while all the Pals are in the teens.
And its not bad because they can still be killed and I get tons of high quality pal oil shit.
I've been playing the fricking Xbox version because one of my friends has gamepass and he shared the fricking account with us (despite me telling him the game is only 20 bucks or whatever and would buy it for him if that was the issues). And I heard that the Gamepass version is behind in patches. How behind is it?
And would it be possible to transfer our server to the Steam version if we bought it now?
People calling it slop is uncalled for. The game is low budget but not low effort at all. There's clearly a lot of thought and passion going into designing the pals and gameplay systems. Sure, the game janky as frick, a bunch of features that should be there are missing and the environment reeks of store bought assets but that's how it is when you don't have enough budget and manpower.
Certain people feel threatened because they see this small nobody no budget team produce a game on par with what Game Freak puts into the biggest media empire on Earth.
No.
It's an okay early access game, but it's not amazing in any way.
The upside is that the devs can use the hype and the profits to make the game something special.
They need to add mod support.
no; it's very rough still. my game crashes hourly at best. pals ai is pretty moronic and they just stand around instead of attacking, pathing is atrocious, the game world is rendered at all times which makes it a system hog, textures take forever to load in. it's an early access title.
it clearly has a lot of things that need polished, especially in relation to pal management, base building, story/lore, and interface quality of life (e.g. pals always being in your way when trying to interact with structures) but it shows a lot of promise.
It's your typical chink asset flip artificially shilled on social media to fool moronic zoomers and equally moronic influencers into buying it and spreading it like AIDS
Pic related is a pretty similar experience to what I've had with palworld. Expected some soulless survivalslop but stayed for the pals. I really REALLY like the pals. I like exploring and petting them in the camp and making them individual houses. Love me pals, simple as.
>Individual houses
Holy shit I'm such a fricking idiot, I just made some weird tower out of the walls of an hold castle near the start, a shed to put all the work benches around, and some fancy wooden staircase to a nice ledge. My Pals and I have been living in one big communal room on the second floor of my building this whole time when I could have been giving them their own individual houses!!
This is the problem with games with crafting mechanics, I only fricking progress when it involves getting more crafting materials/recipes.
Frick, I'm not playing the MonHun/Legends Arceus title I thought I would be, I'm focusing far too much on construction and now that my idiot mind realized individual houses for each Pal, I'm tenfold not going to do any proper main game/leveling up shit as I build a village. Maybe even a small town.
Yo why the FRICK is every fricking new gun more worth less than the last one.
The musket was great, and the makeshift handgun was alright, even if it did take more ammo.
Regular handgun sucked dick, felt like I got scammed.
And the single shot rifle now requires the fricking refined ingots for ammo, with a 4x material cost and 10% power boost? Do the later guns actually become usable, or do the resource requirements just keep becoming gayer. I'm still swapping between the Musket/Makeshift Handgun/Crossbow at level fricking 36.
There's a place near the chillet boss that has 8 iron ores in one spot.
It's also on a plateau so as a bonus non flying raiders just get stuck trying to reach you if you place your base right.
Now for my question: what is the best place for a 3rd base and sulfur/coal farming lmao.
if you mean "ore" there's a place called "desolate church" i think, north west of the first tower, that has a huge number of ores right by a fast travel point. no need to even put a base there unless you really want to automate the mining.
Why did I buy this frickin dogshit? Oh yeah because I'm a 0 iq fricking moron. This is on every server so I just can't play. This game frickin sucks dick.
You actually are moronic, you set base capacity before creating the world/server but still can modify the ini file after making it. Oh wait, you're a fricking zoomer who started video games with gen 3 Pokemon, aren't you? You don't even fricking know what a file even is!
It's an official server you homosexual troony. And I tried a bunch of different ones. This is a frickin WASTE of money and when you go to peoples' bases their monsters are teleporting and floating around, it's soooo fricking shit. DO NOT BUY THIS WORTHLESS FRICKING SHIT!!
lmao, stop being moronic and play single player.
If you are so bent over about playing multiplayer just invite your friends for co-op or set up your own server.
You do have friends right? riiiiiight?
>Joins a full server where people have been playing for days >Sobs that they already reached max capacity for early access base building
You're serious
Please, post your age. I'm not trying to groom you as I have no interest in children, I just want to confirm something.
lmao, stop being moronic and play single player.
If you are so bent over about playing multiplayer just invite your friends for co-op or set up your own server.
You do have friends right? riiiiiight?
>Set world bases at 0 >Doesn't know how to fix it >"HURRRRR THE GAME IS A FRICKING STUPID SCAM FRICK"
You're trying too hard, everybody knows you're trying to le epic troll and didn't softlock yourself out of being able to make bases. Were you trying to make the Tendies crying about Palworld even existing look worse? Because you're only making Palworld enjoyers look impotently immature with this lying. You're the fricking moron at a murder trial yelling that the convict's also likely probably maybe a pedophile on top of his murder conviction after being sentenced. Or the hyper-active ADHC child who blurts out a comment after EVERY SINGLE THING ANYONE SAYS, raping the flow of conversation with his need to respond to everything he hears. It's just stupid.
holy shit this is a fricking scam. I can't believe I got tricked by a few chinese people spamming about the game nonstop with VPNs. my own fricking poop is worth more than this and I flush it down the toilet. stop scamming people fricking homosexual. DO NOT BUY THIS FRICKING SCAM!!!!!! THE GAME IS FRICKIN GODAWFUL!!!!!!!
>Set world bases at 0 >Doesn't know how to fix it >"HURRRRR THE GAME IS A FRICKING STUPID SCAM FRICK"

I restarted my computer, and now I can't play the game. I'm getting the "Create Process returned 2" error, and a quick search online says that means this shit is a trojan, how fricked are we all for downloading this virus?
I'm dead serious. i just tried giving it permissions in all of my antivirus stuff and i'm still getting the same message. Serves me right for trying to restart my pc so it could maybe run a little better
If you run the program thru virustotal, theres one place that has it flagged as 100% malicious, could that be whats fricking me over?
Ah, it's a pirated copy.
Yeah, there could be a trojan of course.
That said, try lanching the binary directly instead of using whatever the frick you are using (that icon doesn't look like a shortcut?).
The error started occuring when I tried to move the original shortcut to my games folder, i think the directories got fricked or something. It is a pirated copy, but it was working a few hours ago. An anon in another thread said to try reinstalling, i'll let you know if it works in a bit
>he hasnt managed to research muskets >he hasnt managed to reach napoleonic levels of tech >he is still an unga bunga cave man with a club
lmaoing at your life
just one lol,
i started over like two times already for my friends and in my solo world i've just been taking it slow trying to get 10x of every pokemon
Pic related is why i love this game
Pathetic
troony
I haven't played it yet because it looks like slop but I'll play it out of spite.
So like literally everyone on Ganker
a palworld thread died for this.
A PalWorld thread was born from another thread dying.
>died 01/23/24(Tue)00:30:03

Welcome back, Palworld thread!
Its fun, but if you played Valheim at release like everyone else its the exact same vibe.
I wanna play Valheim, but early access shit turns me off.
It's as complete as you'd get for an early access game.
Get friends
.
NTA but they don't play these types of games... (MOBAs and MMOs and FPS)
>palworld has soul
>valheim doesn't
i like them both for different reasons but you are living in bizarro opposite world.
I thought valheim was garbage, this game has over 100 monsters to collect. That alone makes it fun.
Its the best game I played in 2024
It's Rust with Pokemon
Yohlu mean ARK with pokemon. Rust is a Dayz knockoff
It's literally Conan Exiles with a Pokemon skin, what with all the slavery.
i played the pirate version
good enough to buy, will leave on my wishlist to see again in a few months
>early access
I'm betting on 3 years before release based on early access' track record across all games.
maybe, but ive gotten other eraly access games before and still wait for them to release before playing
my time at sandrock, for example.
I'll get it on release. Really hope the devs commit to it to make it the best game they wanted to make now that they got all this popularity and sales.
same
the base its solid, a lot more than Ark was at release
Their previous game has been in early access for 4 years and still going lmao
It's never getting finished.
is this a better game than death stranding?
Yeah. DS is only good for one playthrough. I could probably play Palworld for the rest of my life
it literally changed my life
Me too, played it twice and now i'm full blown trans deepthroating giant dildos
I think I just threw fifteen hyper spheres with a 28% catch rate at a Fengelope and didn't catch that piece of shit
I need help my lamball just died. how do you revive it?
Craft a Pal Box and deposit it there. Takes 10 minutes to revive
Thanks
I'm having fun. Late mid to end game is a big slog though, very grindy and not as automated as previous levels.
Same, hope for something to fix that mid-late game grind for mats. Even just giving us more carrying capacity per level would be fine. However im expecting mods to fix this problem, if the devs dont.
I've already seen mods that increase the carry weight, along with other fixes and additions
>Finally automate ore
>Now I don't have enough leather
>you can automate ore
Will I ever reach a level where I can 100% automate every last material?
I found a blueprint for an uncommon crossbow and it's pretty good (315 attack I think) is the musket any stronger?
Musket hits harder, especially on a weak spot hit, and hits instantly but the loading time is significantly longer.
I suspect the crossbow has a higher DPS in longer fights, but the musket’s first strike will frick up most level appropriate enemies before the fight’s even started.
I'm surprised they even thought of adding weakspots/headshots, it's such a simple concept but it could've been easily overlooked by japanese devs.
Nips have been aware of how to make good shooters for quite a long time now
the slide mechanic is such a fricking meme in video games.
you can slide in this game?
Yes. Run then crouch (C).
>reloads a musket by loading the flashpan first
thats proper napoleonic era training m8, prime flashpan first then load
I wonder how many accidental discharges they had before they stopped doing that.
i mean, firearms safety is pretty new, so i imagine it happened a lot more than we with our modern sensibilities would be comfortable with
still a baller reload animation if not totally accurate
someone gift it to me please
just steal it
Its pretty solid but nothing crazy, its a base building survivial game through and through, fun progression and good at eating time but ultimately pretty hollow
But the seethe its creating is great
it's pretty fun but needs a lot of bug fixing and quality of life shit. not to mention a bit more control of your slave pals in your bases. Other than that a solid 100 ish hours. more if you're into building proper bases and more if you're gonna do breeding for perfect pals autism
it would be a fun game if it wasnt an ark clone
Spent over 35 hours in it, so it's doing something right.
jank but fun and cute and comfy
played iwth friends tonight it was dope only 4 can go to the boss fight though and we're itching for friendly fire/pvp
didnt refund it cause i got caught up playing with friends but friends are like 99% of why its fun at all. its an open world survival crafter and there is no changing that no matter if you can automate the shittier parts. there is nothing interesting about the world itself. a ton of bugs. it really is boring as shit.
people keep comparing it to pokemon and if those are the only two games you play then sure it's good. if you play actual video games then it's boring as shit and sucks dick.
I don't know what crack you're smoking cause I've been playing mainly solo and I'm having a blast. I haven't been into a game this much in quite some time. I did try multiplayer, but public servers are really laggy, making it harder to enjoy for me
Anon plz tell me what are so called "actual" video games?
Baldur's Gate 3.
Frostpunk.
Fallout New Vegas.
Anon plz tell me about actual video games
hey anon you going to list those 'actual' video games you pussy?
The little details kinda kill it for me
Why only 3 bases? Should be at least 10
Why I can't use my characters in other worlds?
And damn game gets unplayable when there is 20 pals fighting at the same time
Also game chat is garbage
It's surprisingly well refined for an early access game, but also still fairly janky in some ways. Core game is pretty solid. Monsters are cute and well designed, there are a few recolors but they fit together better than the pokemon all do at this pointt.
What pal is this?
Frickswhitewomenal
Monkey type
Specialized in picking up soft materials, they will grind your cloth mats for you
Dindu
it's fine
do the pals actually evolve?
For reference look at the deer and it's stronger form.
You can get them by fuzing them with a pal of their extra typing
Lyleen x dark type etc
Which ones have a shiny version then?
Look at the Paldecks online, the upgraded version is always the very next number after the base version.
these look sick
idk why people have shit on the designs. they actually look better than more than half of the pokemon have for at least the past 2 gens.
The Liligant gardevoir looks a lot more like its own creature in its shiny form and a lot better tbh
I love these little fellas but the self-destruct is so fricking shit, I just want a cool bird team.
You can deactivate it in the pal window, in case you weren't aware.
dumb creeper motherfricker
So, I'm guessing mods are going to add lewder milfy versions of this non-pokemon, right?
Another year, another month Ganker will be spamming the board with some moronic shit to make it unusable.
FF7 Rebirth is next!
Soulless
Oh no you've wandered into a thread about something you don't like! How good this have happened!?
i love it, it is like ark but is less laggy and buggy somehow
Its good enough. Going to draw porn of the Daedream latter. I'm thinking floating upside down with her shortstack ass in the viewers face, while she's struggling to give a sloppy blowjob.
So when I started it up it is like Breath of the Wild mashed with Pokemon. I like the pal thing and that they can have gear and the base management, but frankly I think doing dragonquest builders 2 or fallout 4 would be better. If you got disposable income and time to kill, go for it, but it will be forgotten quickly.
>dragonquest builders 2
Lmao salty snoys can't stop seething about Palchads.
hey go for it, I just feel like it's not enough right now. call me when we can frick the pals like they hinted at.
Nah, you will have Palworld clones like Autochess clones.
Fun, but unpolished jank
It's better than nu-Pokemon
>craft something
>pals immediately lose their shit and attack each other in a big mob
What did PocketPair mean by this?
He violated the NAP.
That's not what happened. The owl is a wild pal. The salamander ran it over and has trample damage by default, so it aggro'd the owl. The owl attacked the friendly salamander so it aggro'd the rest of the base and they shot the shit out of it.
>salamander
dude thats a fricking ferret
>Fun, but unpolished jank
so it's just pokemon but fun
I dont see whats so jank about your video
the owl isnt a member of the base just a wandering pal otherwise chillet wouldnt have been able to damage it by running into it.
the only jank ive seen in this game has been pathing issues and enemies clipping through the ground
i would find this fun if i woke up from a coma and forgot about every other game that exists.
why play this sub average shovelware when you can play games that are infinitely better and dont make a mockery of how easy you want to turn your brain off and slop up
>when you can play games that are infinitely better
name some
Temtem
Valheim
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
>Digimon might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>Yokaiwatch might actually be the pokemon killer this time
MH might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>temtem might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>Palworld might actually be the pokemon killer this time
You are here.
>nextgimmick might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>nextgimmick+1 might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>nextgimmick+2 might actually be the pokemon killer this time
>nextgimmick+3 might actually be the pokemon killer this time
temtem was ruined by troons sadly
Anon pokemon killed itself.
The only people who care about pokemon games are children and manchildren. It has no credibility in games anymore
>pokemon killed itself
I wish
The last game sold 25 million and the DLC went nuts
>The only people who care about pokemon games are children and manchildren.
Ah so you mean the target audience the franchise was made for since the beginning? Also, the latest games literally sold 25+ million. All this talk about how Pokemon is failing, no-one cares and whatnot seems like seethe and cope from some people about it continuing to be successful, despite their dislike. Honestly pretty sad that grown-ass adults have it living rent free in their heads.
okay gamefreak employee
Nice non-rebuttal because you can't actually make a retort to what was said. Pretty standard for the "people" on this site. Go on and consoom the dogshit early access Open World survival game number 64857382836173 because you're trying to "get back" at a fantasy monster pet catching franchise for for children not catering to/making you happy anymore.
Palworld is the opposite of a pokemon killer.
It's a "What pokemon should be fricking doing already"-er.
Literally no one expected Digimon to kill Pokemon.
palworld is the first game that's doing pokemon type numbers outside of japan
pokemon is dead though, it killed itself
Much like Halo, Pokemon is a zombie at this poijnt
I hate the soulless text Palworld uses, literally No Man's (Fire) Pokemon
I hate when soulless gen Z homosexuals can't use words properly, for example, conflating "text" with "font".
>Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
>Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
>grindheim
>good
lol at least pick a game where the dev isnt a "no fun allowed" homosexual
>Theythem
I will never understand this cope from Gamefreak buttlickers that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are "good." If anything it shows just what an even more inept dev Gamefreak is when they have to try and punch even the teensiest bit closer to their actual weight class.
>they/them
>scat/vomit
Only good game on that list is vanheim and it's a Palworld clone.
It's just as repetitive as PLA if not more, but I'm enjoying it.
holy crap this nintendie is in every thread lmao was it such a massive hit to his ego to get mogged by this.
pokegays are absolutely assblasted
He's doing God's work.
What's plan B when none of this works to stop the game? Just curious how you'll fill your next several hours between dilations.
Basically it has almost nothing to do with pokemon, it's just a better Ark, so if you had some fun with that you should try this one too
>i believe there's an item for actually butchering the mons alive
there is, it's a butchers knife
i love seeing pals eating human corpses after battles
Don't forget the elden ring references that are absolutely everywhere.
Also the AI is moronic with slavemon getting stuck in stupid ways while I'm off doing stuff then starving to death instead of working and the base attacks not actually doing anything because they get a bit lost, can be killed without them reacting if you get to them outside your base, and if they can't reach your base after a certain amount of time the just give up and go home.
i mean, its an early access game
they even put the warning on the main menu saying expect bugs and crashes
it's good but I'm waiting to play with someone
play with yourself
>Start Playing on the Series X
>Pic related happens
How much bitcoin are these frickers making off me?
i live in a third world country with high temperatures and my series x is quiet as frick
%3D
Not clicking your link.
incredibly janky
basically the mish-mash modern equivalent of those chinatown 40-in-1 carts.
very soulful, strangely enough
I'm 90% sure the reason the baseball bat is bloody is because it's a stock unreal asset. Hopefully it's placeholder.
The butchery with the pixel filter is fricking hilarious though.
You need to wait at least another week or so before everyone begins to hate it because their dopamine receptors are fried up
Honestly one of the worst moronic ideas is have, poison and fire bows. Just let me use arrows with any bow. That's stupid.
Yeah, I think I'm starting to reach the point where the fun is starting to taper off.
I'm still having fun, but I can feel it starting to get slowly chipped away at.
another chore simulator like every other early access crafting game
this, i wonder if people praising it have actually played something like valheim or ark
i did
still like it, but im a slow player, so i take my time with stuff
It's a lot of fun if you have friends to play with. I can't imagine how tedious it would be playing solo.
My harem of Daedream are cute!!!
why do you unlock a gun 10 hours in when the level 2 enemies shoot at you with smgs
Because they're part of a pre-existing gang and you're a bum who just fell out of the sky with nothing.
went into it expecting jank and to not care for survival stuff
ended up being much more polished than i thought and the survival stuff was fun too
but the mons are the stars, they are more sovlful than pokemon
glad i bought it, don't really care what the devs do in the future but if they add more shit i'm down to try it
not interested in pvp though
What are your thoughts on Dazzi?
her necklace is probably the most busted thing in the game
lmao sweet summer child. you aint seen nothing yet
Does she have an upgraded form in the game?
how are perverts so fast with drawing this stuff ??
I'd really appreciate more fine-grain control of pals, right now it feels like the only reliable way to get pals to fight is setting them to aggressive and lobbing them directly at targets like a grenade.
They should add in hotkeys for calling and sending out Pals. A targeting system would work wonders as well. I think they can afford 3 more keys to trigger Pal skills too. PSO2 managed to be playable with controller because of good control schemes
You can triple mob count (maybe even more if you force the setting) and have a lot of goofy fun
game seems fun to replay with different settings and mons
hope they keep working on combat/pve stuff, has some good potential
Only doable in normal mode, trying to catch them when they're a battalion with 4x damage is just bullshit and it's even worse in multiplayer with the lag.
It also multiplies the boss fights except the towers which makes it even worse.
just adjust damage, I've already lowered it because it's just too high in general. additional lag isn't noticeable on 4 player servers, and everyone loves the increased soul/loot. definitely need to be able to not apply to boss mobs though
Individually modeled toes.
fully modelled
>this was modelled by some student that works part time.
you know he created his dream waifu
It's honestly a fun game though very flawed. It's poorly optimized, caves aren't very fun to explore and there's a good amount of bugs, but the gameplay loop of exploring and discovering new pals, unlocking new abilities and builds and returning to your base to build more shit and watch your critters slave away is very appealing. None of those mechanics are original on their own, but together they make something that actually feels quite fresh
It's janky as frick but fun. Like people have said it's similar to Ark but capturing isn't as tedious. Defo needs longer in the oven but it could be a really fun game. Dedicated servers are a lag fest and no PVP makes it less fun, I hate having to wait for my bro to come online so I can play my most advanced session.
maybe ill play it once a week I dunno.
Can't beat the wiener
forgot its on hard mode
whoever made this webm was clearly trying to not kill it.
this is harder than dark souls
just level adp bro
I can't stop watching Rowlet, even the animations are the same.
goofy x7 server up if anyone wants to mess around, will tweak settings as I go
147.135.105.190:20755
It's a fun Gulag simulator.
I enjoy it for the most part. if they can fix the multiplayer lag, and pvp is enjoyable, Ill have a good time.
It's a generic mine and craft game, yeah the pals are cute but everything feels pointless
>Dude you have to craft the thing so you can get more resources!
>"Ok why"
>So then you can craft the thing that lets you get even more resources!
>"For?"
>To craft the thing that gives you more resources of course!
It's a glorified cookie clicker, at the risk of sounding like a pretentious c**t I think people are mistaking the game being addicting as it being fun, I fell for the trap myself for a good whole days until I realized hey actually the game sucks
Its like single player rust or pve ark, its certainly for people that like cookie clicker stuff. Part of the fun is being efficient.
you craft shit to for example upgrade your base which in turn unlocks gear for stats, movement or pal abilities and a new base
play the game first
Game is currently lacking a real objective, and NPCs.
>NPCs
did you somehow miss the village
Like the game where you fight in turn-based battles so you can make numbers go up and fight in more turn-based battles?
Yeah, RPGs actually have a story and an objective, even some basic shit lile killing a demon lord.
Currently Palworld lacks a tangible reason for raising Pals. I actually do much better on my own fighting monsters than using pals with how OP my character is.
But as
said, game also lacks "life" and notable characters. You fight bosses but don't know why yet. Just give them more dialogue, allow you to meet them outside once you have beaten them, anything.
I'll repost my comment
I'm already bored of it. I played like 10 hours but it's just the same thing.
>janky structure building that isn't even needed, structures are useless and get in the way
>player is weak as frick
>pals just run around auto battling shit, difficult to control
>bosses are just big mobs
>after the first hour or 2, you've played the whole game
if base building was meaningful, maybe, but there's no "survival". The raids are mostly just a nuisance since you're already dealing with annoying terrain issues
>player is weak as frick
I solo'd every boss in the game without using pals for combat.
that's neat anon, really cool. I could too, but it doesn't mean I want to reload my crossbow 60-100 times. The bosses are literally just mobs with 3 abilities and shit ai, not interesting at all.
kek, I love how people and even streamers grasp at straws and try really hard to dislike the game
they know the game can scratch an itch others cannot on their own
Actual criticism from someone who likes the game:
>combat is very shallow; all melee weapons feel the same, ranged weapons are mostly the same, and pals are mostly there to draw aggro/add dps instead of there being actual strategy like in a turn-based game
>progression is very linear in every regard, which is bad when your progress resets every time you join a server
>no evolution or meaningful growth means early game pals are objectively shit with no redeeming features
>leveling feels incredibly unbalanced, where the only real option to progress is to catch ten of everything you find, making battling/crafting/etc useless for exp
>dungeons are all the same, only five "gyms", not enough content
>almost no music, there's an attempt at lore with the logs but it falls flat, cutscenes convey very little
>the studio has already announced their next game so this is probably going to get abandoned just like Craftopia (but maybe the insane sales numbers will convince them otherwise)
A lot of that can be fixed with content patches, though.
That being said, I think it's an incredibly good formula and getting to actually interact with my Pokemon and build a little home with them is exactly what I had hoped Game Freak would have done decades ago. And the designs are fricking great for my dick.
>but maybe the insane sales numbers will convince them otherwise
After reaching level 30 or so the raids are incredibly unbalanced.
Honestly I have been keeping my base level low so the raids only send like lvl 15-17 guys at me.
I've heard the moment you go to like 13 or 14 it just jumps them to lvl 30 or some shit real fast.
Lifmunk, Tanzee and Foxsparks are good for their Pal abilities and can be made broken with breeding. Every pal has a use even if not for combat
>"Everyone one has at least one use outside of combat."
>"Not really? They actually have at least one to three things or even more."
Holy shit, you're actually dyslexic.
Did you misread my post?
Most Pals have stronger, more versatile counterparts you encounter later in the game. Direct, objective upgrades.
There's little to no reason to use early game pals past a certain point, other than aesthetics.
Did you misread you own fricking posts twice in a row? The way you keep contradicting yourself is most disturbing.
Some will be terrible but that’s unavoidable or even intentional on the part of the developers
lifmunk is a pain in the ass to catch but man does that little guy pack a punch.
It's ok but it needs a LOT of work which I know the devs aren't going to put in due to their terrible work ethic. A reverse No Man's Sky.
i bet you didn't even play the game homosexual
NTA but there is a lot of jank, either with floating stones and wood, terrain that doesn't match its model allowing you to walk on air, pals knocking themselves out when you go from base to base or flat out not eating because they got stuck somewhere.
It's fun
Not yet but 100% I'll be buying it on payday. Anything that BTFO tendies and Pokegays deserves support. It's what the tendies deserve for continually supporting the low quality slop Gamefreak shits out despite having 10000x the budget of Palworld.
>I'll be buying it on payday
If you need to wait for payday to be able to comfortably spend $30 you should not be spending it in a game.
Jesus Christ.
It's almost the perfect combination of MHFU, BotW, Pokemon Legends Arceus, and Fortnite. But I can easily see the options that makes the game so fricking fun before removed in favour of forcing micro-transactions at the level of a dime-a-dozen Korean MMO.
I doubt they could do that when you can set up private servers inherently
this game pisses me off because i can't tell what people like about the gameplay. friend says he likes it but he's just laid back in his chair looking like he's about to fall asleep walking at a pal while shooting it or running around in circles in his base accomplishing nothing in particular. i genuinely don't comprehend at what point he extracts enjoyment out of playing it.
tried it for a bit but even with an audiobook on it wasn't engaging enough to actually sit down and devote main monitor attention to. the one redeeming quality is that it's pissing on nintendo.
haven't really had fun with any game since dead cells.
A lot of the fun comes from just the variation in what you can do with pals. Every pal has at minimum
>Support abilities like mounts/being used as weapons
>Combat abilities
>Can be bred for better passives
>Can be butchered
>At least one way to help around camp
>Can be pet
>Can be picked up and thrown
And that's the bare minimum. Most have more. Aside from the intrinsic enjoyment of seeing your crew come help you build something or butchering someone who's annoying you, a lot of the game's fun is about optimizing bases to be self sufficient while still producing whatever resources you need. Its not about the moment to moment combat any more than factorio is.
>Support abilities like mounts/being used as weapons
>Combat abilities
>Can be bred for better passives
>Can be picked up and thrown
Very fun but very early access. Hopefully the devs patch it but more hopefully it becomes the next skyrim in terms of modding.
Ingot fricking suck, I have 2nd solely just for farming ore and it still not enough
It's okay. Certainly has a lot of untapped potential.
I played for about 10 hours before getting bored, so I got my money's worth at least.
Very comfy game, honestly beautiful.
It's shit. Go buy Metroid Dread or fricking Hollow Knight if you really want to waste time gaming.
It needs sex
specifically with pals and breeders
I pirated it but haven't played it yet. I probably won't like it if it's a survival game though.
We need /vpal/, the added activity from its release is equivalent to the entire activity of /tg/ or /LULZ/
Definitely need a containment board.
Just convert /vp/ into a monster-catching board. Would be hilarious to see.
Yeah, just make it "Video Games Pokemon/Pals"
If they made a /vpal/ or whatever, there'd be a high chance that the board would simply be dead a week later.
i'd rather we get an aislop containment board first
all the good hentai/porn threads are 50% aishit now to the point that we dont get any actual OC anymore.
you need to stop failing your janny applications you fricking failure
boring as shit just like all these style of games are. the survival genre and minecraft like shit in general is proof that zoomers are a bunch of no fun having autists who like busy work.
Thoughts, in no particular order:
>ARK with some Pokemon-y bits, not a Pokemon game. I'm... okay with this, it mostly just reminds me of ARK but with most of the shittier stuff taken out
>all stats suck except carry capacity and a little stamina, maybe a little HP too, but mostly carry capacity
>melee sucks for a lot of reasons
>4 hours in, still no guns. This is probably a good thing. Found some ammo off a guy though
>pathfinding sucks ass
>gathering/crafting/harvesting/building is pretty cool
>gameplay is alright overall
>a-are those panties???
>god this world's big
>god that big elephant thing is big
>awww yeaahhhh frickin' flamethrower fox
>oh shit it lights the area up when it walks around!
>damn, mounting is cool, frickin' alpacamon
>COMBAT while mounted? AND you can use your weapons if you want? Neat!
>huh, I wonder if there's something behind this waterfall? N-...WHAT??? You can climb walls!?!?!
>oh shit you can climb ANY wall?
>oh man, bows are so much cooler than melee, frick that stabbing animation
>fricking chicken full of rare combat traits, damn
>man, you really can't take a hit in this game, huh?
>dodge roll is nice, but ugh... I wish melee didn't suck
>why's my armor half broken, I only got hit twice?!
>god, so many damn eggs, when do I get an incubator again?
>god, my base location sucks, I need to move it
>ooh, shiny thing
>ooh, poison bow
>ooh, better farm poison arrows
>god damn it, no pausing in this game? That sucks, I hope they patch that in for singleplayer worlds
>man, I need [facility], when do I unlock it? I'm level [x]. Oh, [x+1]
>TEN of each Pal? homie what, my boxes are such a mess... ughhhhhhh
>kinda reminds me of Valheim, but without that shit-ass progression
>or ARK without wasting 200GB on a game that ganks you every five seconds because it's """hardcore"""
>I wonder what mods this'll get?
>god damn, melee sucks ass
>god damn I hope they rebalance the stats to make them useful. Two fricking percent? Per point??
>or ARK without wasting 200GB on a game that ganks you every five seconds because it's """hardcore"""
i always wondered why some survival games are gazillion gigs big
>what did you think of it?
>past tense
kek so its already over
no refunds
There's more sovl in this one pal's fire animation than there is in all of pokemon scarlet and violet
>more soul
>.jpg
Legends arceus fire was also good. Unfortunately many pokegays hate that game for some reason.
I just said it looks good. Calm your aroused breasts anon...
And you're not getting the point.
It's like walking into a discussion about the similarities between living in space as opposed to living under water and you walk in to comment, "Water is blue."
Chill dude. No need for all that. That anon was talking about scarlet and violet animations and i just mentioned legends arceus. It's just that.
Christ, you really are an Andrew Dobson.
Who? just because we are talking about pla have some Akari so you can calm your breasts
>Who?
>calm your breasts, again
Imaging feigning ignorance as a fat, intrusive moron being your entire personality.
WTF i was just talking normally with you. You homosexuals really need to leave the internet a little. You act like wild beasts for no reason.
there are 10x the amount of pokemon than there is palgays
Yeah, nah, there's NOTHING interesting in this half-assed turn based bullshit that Pokemon has becom- nO! THAT POKEMON IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN. FRICK Pokemon. LITERALLY.
? i was not talking turn based, anon your meds please take them
I have no meds, I was not putting words in your mouth. I GAVE UP ON TURN BASED BULLSHIT because it's boring horse-shit to me.
Fun but needs more content
It's a fun game/concept, specially having the pals around your base and automatizing stuff with them. The game does a good job at mixing and matching mechanics of survival/base building/automation and catching/managing the pals.
All that being said, the combat is shit since it's just smacking or shooting at things, the game feels janky in certain aspects and has some bugs, the connection in multiplayer could be worked on, and I have 0 faith that the devs will support the game properly since this is already their third game in early access and they are developing more new games too before finishing anything.
Still worth a try imo
Its okay
>Designs are forgettable but not temtem levels
>Overall gameplay loops solid
>Not really anything like pokemon despite what all the shitposters are arguing about.
>Simple to play and everythings fairly well readable so you dont have something like Rimworlds complexity driving people away
Issues
>Replayability will be dogshit
I cant see someone wanting to do a new server a month from now and need to relevel up by catching the same early game pokemon all over again
Map not being randomized feeds into this
Also finding all the stupid green things though once you get a decent flyer thats not huge. The fricking sulphur grind will be
>Combat works I guess but its mostly brainless with leave it all to the buggy as shit pals vs the buggy as shit enemies
>Pathfinding of stuff is a joke, honestly makes the game easy because most enemies literally cannot a moving target
>Attack readability is awful meaning weird uneven difficulty. Stuff like the manta rays early on being stronger than fricking anything else in the game except the robin hood dudes because their attack is some 500 mph no animation water attack
>Not enough resources, enjoy mining sulphur and ore because its all you will be doing barring the ranch materials
>Building is fricking awful. I dont expect to see many really elaborate and amazing visual bases like Valheim or Minecraft because of it
>Unbelievably buggy
This is fine.
someone redpill me on this game, i think it looks cool but i also get the feeling im not going to like it, i get bored easily of survival crafting type things
i played rust for like 1 hour, valheim i beat the first boss or two then quit when i had to farm materials to make a boat
that being said i am not completely opposed to tism grinders as i did play shit like POE or ragnarok a lot
try it and refund it if you dont like it
It’s on games pass if you have it.
Do the genders matter? Can you make your pals to frick?
Not yet.
I think the game is pretty perfect as is after you remove hunger. Stamina is plenty to deal with without adding fricking hunger mechanics to it.
yes if you have the right building and some cake
>6 palworld threads on page 0
yeah this is corporate shilling
You wouldn't know shilling if it ripped your head of an shit down your neck. Sit down boi.
Says the shill.
I think it crashes way too frequently; aim getting a crash literally every time I load into a cave.
>soulless ai slop
yeah i wonder. could it be kino?
Proofs?
It's interesting. I lost interest in it while playing single player. I'm interested in what multiplayer PvP servers would look like when it fully releases but for now it's not unique enough to garner a full playthrough.
I'm enjoying it but it's just Conan Exiles with less content and your slaves aren't big titty women in loincloths. So I kinda spend my playtime wondering if I should just get back into Conan Exiles instead, but single player Conan feels kinda lame and I don't like having to log in to a server every 3 days or my shit disappears to make room for other players.
I thought it looked like weird asset-flipped chinese dogshit but it's actually really fun
I hope they fix the performance and AI, and do a lot of updates to it
It does look pretty soulless, but it is fun, it draws you in pretty well.
I don't care about pokemon
I am just not interested in an early access Ark clone
Looked like a cheap soulless cash grab and it was exactly that. It actually made me want to go back to Valheim.
frick you guys for shilling this early access survival crafting garbage
its pretty much a mashup of Ark + Conan+ PLA which works surprisingly well and open world games are always pretty enjoyable during the "I haven't explored everything yet"
biggest issues are its janky as frick, the ingot bottleneck is real and something I'm surprised I've seen virtually nothing of is that even if you have a private or passworded dedicated server, hackers can easily get in and nuke pretty much everything
Zoomers, s0ibois, and women will love it.
>capeshit dialogue
>basically starfield
OP was asking people that actually played the game
Are you a nogames liar, moronic or just a bot spewing out Ganker posts you’ve been programmed with?
I truly can’t tell.
>Basically Starfield
You wish, Numar.
>Basically Starfield
Oh please. Tod Howard wishes he could make starfield half as engaging as this game.
Tod, if you're reading this, your games suck ass and require mods to be enjoyable right off the bat.
trying too hard
I've never played any pokemon game but this game is pretty fun. The monsters are funny and cute. I understand why it sells like hotcakes. These monsters are very well designed and animated. Amerimutts or chinks wouldn't be able to make these things.
>chinks
Anon I...
Pocket Pair is a japanese company
Ya, I know, that's kind of the whole reason why I fricking meme arrowed the word "chinks" while replying to someone who called them "chinks", because they are not "chinks", you paint-guzzling moron.
>anon in charge of reading comprehension
Your keyboard has two shift keys yet you can't even fricking use those, you illiterate twit.
its always fun when some moron chooses to further embarrass themselves rather than just cease posting after making a frick up
Agreed, moron.
anon, gods greatest gift to you is between your ears, you should use it sometime
>rideable flying pal
>passive skill: swift
I was blind, but now i see
FYI breeding allows pals to inherit passive skills from the parents (random chance + chance to get new random skills of course). Managed to get a Beakon with Swift, Musclehead (+30% atk -50% work) and Ferocious (+20% atk) at the same time. Too bad Motivational Leader does not function
Motivational leader increases your crafting speed apparently.
The game asks you to make your own fun, and to me that just comes off as lazy, cause in a multiplayer environment you could also make your own fun out of a pack of toothpicks.
>complete all your goals
>"What the frick? Why aren't there any goals in this game???"
Building factories to have your slave pals work, while motivating them by butchering their friends is its own fun though.
and you bought it, what a scam
I'm in the process of moving my whole base to an ore spot at the top of a mountain with a gorgeous view and building my house is genuinely engaging.
its shit for kids
Why is this game generating such controversy?
I know nothing about it aside from the fact it’s a Pokémon clone.
pokemon autists
pokemon autists started it but now it's mostly just people pretending to be mad and people pretending to be mad at the people who are pretending to be mad
The answer is in your post, pokemon fans are malding because of their cult mentality.
Because there's a solid chance they're using slightly modified assets from other games. However I think that stealing from Gamefreak is perfectly ethical so its fine
It doesn't even play like a Pokemon game, ironically. It's a third person shooter/crafting game with a central monster taming mechanic.
>a Pokémon clone.
It's anything but a clone.
Closest thing to this is Monster Rancher.
its picrel crossed with Slime Rancher
is it just me or are the sounds really low quality?
look like shit and homosexual
Why is there a duck on your head, fren?
I hope on hands and bended knees that they don't go full lore autism, just keep it as a fun game leave that shit in Ark and ignore the spergs that keep making hour long documentaries on a vague piece of text.
Better yet, make another piece of vague text that seems to connect with the first one, and let them make more documentaries about your game, enjoy kids joining your game just to play and find same pieces of text while you are making money from them
it's fun with 2x exp and gathering modifiers
Also also, congratulations to whoever was in charge of the animations, the critters in these games are so animated.
is it worth playing on a steam deck?
Nobody's buying a fricking Steam Deck, frick off already.
Anon is.
I've seen some people saying that it runs fine, so guess.
I play it on a RTX 2060 notebook with a 9th gen i7 and it runs incredibly well. The draw distance is insane.
it's rough from what i hear
It runs fine, lowered the graphics settings.
Don't really like how the controls feel though
The rug pull on this game will be fricking epic and it will dwarf The Day Before
It's fun and I couldn't care less about this forced rivalry between it and pokémon.
Bought it, installed it and played it for almost 12 hours straight; it's not bad.
Honestly
Not being able to evolve/digivolve/fuse/unlock/etc etc the monsters makes me feel less inclined to want to catch all of them, and rather just focus on the ones I want for their specific stuff. I came across some "Lucky" variant of an earlier Pal that, as far as I can see, is just larger than normal as its stats actually suck ass compared to the other one of his kind that I already have. And you can grind to get any Pal to change into their "Shiny" variant, so if a specific Pal is special to you, then you can choose if it's a "Shiny" variant or normal.
You can fuse them, can't you?
Also, breeding.
Lucky monsters also seem to have a random high power skill. My lucky chicken can set everything on fire in a 30 meter radius.
kek, yea i got a lucky chicken with dragon meteor (150 damage skill)
which is just goofy but i love it
it's a freak combination of the forest, breath of the wild and pokemon. full of crazy shit, fun and SOVL. I always believed
How to enable the debug console in case anybody wants to fiddle with it :
https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?t=27405
Palworld?
More like
CHADWORLD
I started playing it yesterday, with relatively low expectations. People talk about it aping pokemon when holy shit do they take a lot from BOTW. (or Genshin, perhaps)
But it's still fun, and the designs are growing on me. I've not fought one of those big mammoths yet but one walks through my base every so often and it's very cute.
>Get invaded by hostile pals
>The AI glitches out and they just stand mile away from my base
More pals ofc and more guns.
Maybe have a repeatable quest system like in MHW to help cut down the materials grind a bit.
That would make the game much more of an RPG, which would be neat as frick.
>to anyone who actually played it, what did you think of it?
i've been having fun
im 55, i never was interested in pokemon, will i enjoy this at a slow pace befitting my advanced years?
Pirate it and find out.
There's a lot of punching trees to build stuff at the beginning, if you enjoy slowly building your base up, it can be comfy I guess.
Do keep in mind that battles can be pretty active with a lot of dodging and getting out of the way of attacks, but that can be remedied by simply out-leveling the challenge.
>will i enjoy this at a slow pace befitting my advanced years?
No grandpa, unironically slow turn based games are more your thing.
I'm enjoying it. Biggest issues are pathing of Pals and their tendency to not actually do tasks that are available because the ai seems to be unaware of them randomly sometimes.
Still, I expect I'll get another two weeks out of it and thats plenty for a $30 game.
slopshit of the monthahh0
I was progressing nicely. Built my second base in a more open location.
Three times in one day I've gone there to find two of those giant green elephants piss stomping everything to death. They're level 32 or so and I'm in the mid 20s while all the Pals are in the teens.
And its not bad because they can still be killed and I get tons of high quality pal oil shit.
I fricking love this image
the kennedy stare in that girl's eyes
>If only you knew how bad things were going to get
Plus the obscenely large hand for a girl.
the perspective makes me think it's he dad's hand reaching out, and the girl is just the observer of the man's pain when he gets stung.
are all the dungeons the same
Not the same as far as I can tell, just same-y.
That said, I've only done a couple.
I thought i was going insane... Is it really just the same structure? I only visited like two.
>build base on top of mountain
>can't get raided because morons spawn at bottom of mountain before dying
Yep.
Made my second base on a flat mountaintop and raiders spawn all the way down.
Good thing too because they can one shot me.
>Cant loot guns from the dudes with guns
You only get their ammo but still. I fully expected to get their guns.
yeah i have tons of ammo stashed but dont have guns unlocked yet
It’s based. Nintendo gays continue to brigade these threads out of sheer spite and seethe
Used to be a poke trainer, until I got a palworld to the knee.
People calling it slop is uncalled for. The game is low budget but not low effort at all. There's clearly a lot of thought and passion going into designing the pals and gameplay systems. Sure, the game janky as frick, a bunch of features that should be there are missing and the environment reeks of store bought assets but that's how it is when you don't have enough budget and manpower.
>passion in desgning the pals
Bro, they're literally a mishmash of existing pokemon.
Certain people feel threatened because they see this small nobody no budget team produce a game on par with what Game Freak puts into the biggest media empire on Earth.
Is it actually worth the insane hype?
No.
It's an okay early access game, but it's not amazing in any way.
The upside is that the devs can use the hype and the profits to make the game something special.
They need to add mod support.
It's pretty fun and I'm not into survival crafters, the pals carry it for me and I wouldn't care if it was just the base building.
after couple of content updates yes
no; it's very rough still. my game crashes hourly at best. pals ai is pretty moronic and they just stand around instead of attacking, pathing is atrocious, the game world is rendered at all times which makes it a system hog, textures take forever to load in. it's an early access title.
It's an okish game
>worth the insane hype
lol no, people unironically just hates pokemon and i don't blame them for that
no. But it is pretty fun for a bunch of hours.
May check it out once it fully releases. Early access never ever
Pretty janky but fun with friends
frick nintendo
refunded after I realized it's craftslop
it clearly has a lot of things that need polished, especially in relation to pal management, base building, story/lore, and interface quality of life (e.g. pals always being in your way when trying to interact with structures) but it shows a lot of promise.
>wooden base
>level 12
>raided by Relaxaurus raid.
>they're level 29.
What the frick?
What do you guys personally enjoy about the game?
The pals. The ability to automate some processes for now. The ability to capture humans.
exploring
Sliding down big hills
nobody actually plays these chink-shilled games
It's your typical chink asset flip artificially shilled on social media to fool moronic zoomers and equally moronic influencers into buying it and spreading it like AIDS
Tried it last night, got bored and annoyed with it within 30 minutes.
I made a big manor with individual bedrooms.
Frick, I'm not playing the MonHun/Legends Arceus title I thought I would be, I'm focusing far too much on construction and now that my idiot mind realized individual houses for each Pal, I'm tenfold not going to do any proper main game/leveling up shit as I build a village. Maybe even a small town.
>house
mine sleep outside and my house is a 1x1 box with my bed in it
dont need anything else
anyone wanna sponsor this need and buy it for me?
Just pirate it anon.
but multiplayer fwend game
anon if you dont have $30 you need to sort your fricking life out
like $30 hardly buys shit these days
Yo why the FRICK is every fricking new gun more worth less than the last one.
The musket was great, and the makeshift handgun was alright, even if it did take more ammo.
Regular handgun sucked dick, felt like I got scammed.
And the single shot rifle now requires the fricking refined ingots for ammo, with a 4x material cost and 10% power boost? Do the later guns actually become usable, or do the resource requirements just keep becoming gayer. I'm still swapping between the Musket/Makeshift Handgun/Crossbow at level fricking 36.
What is the best place for second base & iron farming?
There's a place near the chillet boss that has 8 iron ores in one spot.
It's also on a plateau so as a bonus non flying raiders just get stuck trying to reach you if you place your base right.
Now for my question: what is the best place for a 3rd base and sulfur/coal farming lmao.
if you mean "ore" there's a place called "desolate church" i think, north west of the first tower, that has a huge number of ores right by a fast travel point. no need to even put a base there unless you really want to automate the mining.
Fun but exteremely generic. The threads will disappear within a week.
LING LONG BING BONG CHING CHING CHONG
CHINA MONEY NEVER WRONG
Meme brainrot game to kill time with friends
I find survival games very boring so I wouldn't even play the game solo
>lovander only has 1 page of porn on r34
AMATEURS!
everyone memes the horny rape lizard but Lunaris is by far the hottest pal i've found so far.
Now we just need a mod that will let up personally breed the pals.
I'm sure someone out there is in the process of tearing the game open and is tinkering with it right now.
pretty cool
>It's lore lets it control you.
These things 100% rape people.
wtf
Where are some good spots to get eggs early game, especially electric eggs. Want to get a Dazzi in early game.
There's almost always an egg at the peak of those large pointy rocks.
There's a lot of really nice designs that I'd love to personally take to the breeding pen.
soulless shovelware slop
What's the Ganker server
Me and my friends play it together
Its just fun exploring and catching pals
Or working together to take down bosses out of our level range
>get out of starting islands
>it's fricking empty
It won't let me make a palbox, do I have to start over on a new server?
you have to unlock it in your tech tree first.
It says there are too many already made
are on you on a full public server or something?
fun
Just joined an official server and there's like 5000 rocket launchers on the ground
sounds legit
I keep accidentally killing Pals when I want to catch them
just unsummon your pal when they are low so they dont kill them
I have daedream necklace on
it's fun
that's all
also the performance is way better than I expected and the mechanics are more polished than I thought
still room for growth
You do have friends right? riiiiiight?
>Joins a full server where people have been playing for days
>Sobs that they already reached max capacity for early access base building
You're serious
Please, post your age. I'm not trying to groom you as I have no interest in children, I just want to confirm something.
holy shit this is a fricking scam. I can't believe I got tricked by a few chinese people spamming about the game nonstop with VPNs. my own fricking poop is worth more than this and I flush it down the toilet. stop scamming people fricking homosexual. DO NOT BUY THIS FRICKING SCAM!!!!!! THE GAME IS FRICKIN GODAWFUL!!!!!!!
>trying to join a small indie company's public server of literally the biggest fotm game ever released
peak moronation
>Set world bases at 0
>Doesn't know how to fix it
>"HURRRRR THE GAME IS A FRICKING STUPID SCAM FRICK"
It's just stupid.
holy shit someone ban this 5-year-old. what the frick are you talking about moron?
gamepass version had an update, is it on the same page as the steam version now?
Can some kind fricker provide a screenshot of graphic options?
I just want to know why my palls are going through walls and getting outside of my walled in base.
I restarted my computer, and now I can't play the game. I'm getting the "Create Process returned 2" error, and a quick search online says that means this shit is a trojan, how fricked are we all for downloading this virus?
You either don't have the game, or you enjoy the game and are doing a rancid job of roleplaying as a Tendie.
You see the path in the error message, the bin folder one?
Go in there and run the executable file directly.
15 hours in and still no guns. It was all a lie.
You can probably give the monkey guy a gun by now and maybe get the musket.
>he hasnt managed to research muskets
>he hasnt managed to reach napoleonic levels of tech
>he is still an unga bunga cave man with a club
lmaoing at your life
I have a crossbow and a baseball bat
>have musket
>not chinese/israeli enough to make ingot factories
Stone Spear my one true love.
agrarian chads rise up!
the industrial revolution was invented by whites, anon.
Fun but I think later parts of the game need some work. If the devs actually finish the game it would be amazing
It's neat, waiting for mods support for the sex mods and character customization after creation.
And possibly few more outfits.
And more automation.
I don't think i will play the game but the pals are frickable. I hope for more porn.
at 64 hours already
game is pure fun + kino
How many gym leaders have you fought?
just one lol,
i started over like two times already for my friends and in my solo world i've just been taking it slow trying to get 10x of every pokemon
