To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dwarf Jokes. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of industrial engineering most of the jokes will go over a typical leaf lover’s head.
There's also the Dwarves’ mercantile outlook, which is deftly woven into their characterisation- their personal philosophy draws heavily from Donald Trump’s literature, for instance. The Dwarfheads understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of Dwarven mines, to realise that they're not just about procuring ores and precious (or semiprecious) gems- they say something deep about LIFE.
As a consequence people who dislike Dwarves truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Dwarven racial slur "Knife Ear” which itself is a cryptic reference to Tweedale’s English epic The Sheffield Knife book. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those tree-hugging simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Gimli son of Gloin’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens.
