would love to play on GBA but I need to install a backlight and get an everdrive first

Currently playing on PC. Do I need a modded console to play? Is it as simple as loading my saved PC files onto a flashcart and continuing my game on console? I heard romhacks crash often
i don't use a cartridge, so i can't help. sorry. i just use the 3ds ROM injector.
i did this for a single game. i wish i could do it more.
For a flashcart, you don't need to hack your system.
I think it probably depends what format the save games are in, but yes. I was able to just drag and drop my Fire Red rom and save file over to my GBA flashcart and it worked, but I've never tried it with a DS rom/save.
I have a DS cart. Does the same thing as you described.
I play ds pokemon romhacks on an r4 flashcard. I haven't had a rom crash on me or corrupt yet.
You need to mod your 3ds to do what I’m going to tell you.
If it’s a GBA game then you need to take that rom you have and convert it to a .cia file. There are gba injectors you can find online.

It's far easier just to use open_agb_firm
No need to inject saves
Just put your roms in a folder, agb will have a folder inside "3ds" called saves the saves are stored there
mGBA on my pc. It's the most stable emulator for romhacks from my experience. I have yet to have a single crash with it.
until it broke, my psp. now, 3ds. i'll repair the psp soon.
I play them on my SP. There are some that don't work with flash carts, buuuuuuuuuuuuut the feel of it on real hardware is worth the trade off.
I buy physical rom hack carts.
either emulator or a kindle fire depending on if I want to lay on the couch or not. The annoying part is that I don't have my save files synchronized between the two
Not knocking your your way of playing anon, but aren't Kindles for reading ebooks? I didn't even know they supported other apps like emulators.
That’s their intended purpose yes, but newer kindles are basically knock off ipads. I do use mine for textbooks since digital versions are half the cost of paper books, but they can run android apps pretty well, too.
Do they still have the nice, non-reflective screens?
Some do, but all those are ereaders, so books only, no Android compatibility as far as I know

Anyone know if it’s alright just to cheat a Pokémon in? I want a Larvesta buts it post game. Same with some gen 8, which I might cheat in too.
Just do it, I cheated my team in on my first tun of Unbound because I don't like waiting arbitrarily long for certain members.

It's the special Pokemon one that came bundled with Pokemon Black back in the day, which is fitting because the only games I've ever really played on it are Pokemon. I basically bought it, played through Black once, and then left it sat in a drawer for about 10 years until I discovered you can softmod the DSi so easily.
My gf told me these ones are getting valuable nowadays though, so I'm gonna stop using it as my main console before I inevitably drop it and smash the hinge off or some shit. I have a spare DS lite which I've ordered a new shell and R4 card for. I already have an EZ Flash. It will be a nice project to fix it up, and then it will be a sweet all round gameboy/DS machine.

It's Perfect Emerald the romhack maker didn't change the title screen.
