So you think Human Head went bankrupt because 10 years prior to the event Bethesda cancelled one of their games? You don't think it had anything to do with the multiple bad games that didn't sell they released after that that Bethesda was not involved in at all?
And by "known fact" you of course mean "thing I just made up". Especially the New Vegas one. Numerous people from Obsidian have shot down the idea Bethesda in any way "fricked them over". People just made it up, Obsidian denied it and then those morons said "They obviously can't publicly talk bad about Bethesda. That proves it's true!" Well what the frick is the source of the fricking over in the first place if nobody has been able to publicly say anything? The closest I've heard to someone from Obsidian saying Bethesda screwed them was Feargus complaining Bethesda's QA team kept finding too many bugs.
>cripple obsiddy by breaking your promise and being a israelite >the soul shattered devs leave, having their company be destroyed twice now >only the buck broken remain at obsidian and claim ‘b-bethesda did nothing wrong’ or else it’s their job

We know that's not true based on what people who were working at Obsidian at the time have said. Management at Obsidian are just moronic and always have been.
Bethesda didn't frick over Obsidian with New Vegas, Obsidian agreed to develop the game knowing they would have a very short window in which to do it and agreed to tie their bonus to the Metacritic score which came up a point short.
>and agreed to tie their bonus to the Metacritic score
They also said this offer surprised them because publishers doing performance bonuses is not really a thing in the industry.
So it all just comes down to some artist who can't accept that he was hired and paid to produce a product that he then handed off to his employer.
Imagine building a house and having to ask the architect and construction firm any time you want to extend or renovate parts of it.
No. It's about whether or not Mick's OST actually was touched up by id or if Mick half-assed the work because he was pissed at id and then tried to avoid responsibility for that by blaming an innocent man.
Holy fricking shit why are there so many Bethesda roaches crawling around in this thread? Am I actually seeing this? There’s at least 5 of you motherfrickers posting the same bullshit Marty was talking about.
More like imagine building a house the weekend before the homeowners are supposed to move in and they already promised to the new movers that it’s going to be complete and the best thing they’ve ever lived in. Oh and they also took the woodworking shit you were prototyping for fun as furniture in the house, completely for free.

He worked on the OST for a month. The OST is not the same as the game soundtrack you have to touch that shit up. Not only that they included some of the shit that he made that originally got refused by the team because they didn’t like it. Some of those tracks are in the game too and they didn’t pay him for any of that shit.
Mick's work with the new Wolfenstein games and DOOM 2016 was loved by everyone internally and externally. Mick's soundtrack style has always been industrial and all those 3 soundtracks were very much that.
However, after DOOM 2016, the entire boomer moronic doom community started worshipping Mick as a metal god (even if nothing in 2016 was metal and that's why it was so good) and it at all got to Mick's head and for Eternal he geniunely started damaging to project's soundtrack cause he wanted to force it into being straight up metal even though everyone told him to keep to what he does best. This is why the Eternal soundtrack ended up as this garbage metal head cancer music. The game had to come out so Bethesda didn't cut the soundtrack but for what he did, he got fricked over completely, and deservedly so.
Mick is in the wrong and dude was way over his head.
homie, you got the whole thing wrong. No one has ever complained that the music in Doom Eternal is bad. The problem is that the OST they sold to the public had dogshit production because they used the compressed audio files they had used in the game, and Mick said that wasn't his fault, but id, and id confirmed it.
They haven't been silent. They said they're not going to start a pissing match on blogs. They're going to court where they say the actual truth will come out and they expect to win. If they're going to court instead of settling they're probably in the right.

I don't care who he was. Point is Mick Gordon started the fight. That link you posted has him talking about Mick's public statements on the matter. People are claiming it's the first volley when it's specifically in response to something.
>Person critiques a work of art using their name despite wishes against it >Publisher of said art launches a missile that impacts said persons career for years >"well the person shouldnt have said anything at all!"
Wrong, not only did someone from Bethesda publicly make a comment first, it was a fricking EP and director of the game. Even if what he was saying was true it was REMARKBLY unprofessional for someone at his level to do something like that. Can you imagine the meeting where he had to talk to his bosses and explain that their company getting shit from consumers and media is a result of him not being able to keep his mouth shut on reddit? It's embarrassing for the company.
>not only did someone from Bethesda publicly make a comment first
Have you people already forgotten Mick Gordon originally tried to claim he was not responsible for the OST and directed people to attack someone else? That did actually happen. That is why id responded publicly. One of their employees was being dogpiled. Mick's claim was not true, by the way.
If I remember right, the whole thing is still about him not being responsible for the OST. That is still what Mick claims, and has the receipts in his document. So whether it's true or not, you don't know that yet. Evidence currently supports that Mick's claim is true by the way.

>Have you people already forgotten Mick Gordon originally tried to claim he was not responsible for the OST and directed people to attack someone else?
He claimed he wasn't responsible for the official release of the OST or it's integration into the game, which is completely true. Some moron in the company appears mangled the thing, which from the evidence presented, supports Gordon's case.
He said he didn't do the producing on the OST being sold separately to people which was factually true and something Marty's post confirms. Then he said he wouldn't work with Bethesda again. All he did was answer people's questions and direct them to who was actually responsible for the producing on the OST being sold to people. He never told anyone to attack anyone. He pointed out who was actually responsible for the poor production values on the OST that was being sold separate from the game. I feel like you're the one that doesn't understand what happened. When Mick said he didn't work on the OST he didn't mean that he didn't work on the game's music, he meant he didn't do the production for the standalone OST, which even Bethesda agrees is true. I think when you read "OST" you are conflating it with the game's soundtrack when people are using the term to refer to the separate OST being sold independent of the game (or given with some copies of the game depending on what version you bought).
This. It never even occurred to me that the poster to whom you are responding doesn't understand what an OST actually means.
the id soft guy (not bethesda btw) was responding to accusations that mick gordon wasn't given enough time to do the ost, not the ost isnt made by mick. ok, some accusations said that the ost is "bad" because it's not done by mick, but then again, it's pretty much mixed result.
anyway, from mick "clarification" bethesda, at first, was more helpful than the id guy. beth was willing to pay the contract (+bonus) and consider this bickering done. but the id guy intervened, and said mick didnt deserve the pay because he didnt fulfill his contract (which is true, even by mick's account).
so basically, both the id guy (marty) and mick are c**ts.

no, they were desperate to speedrun an OST release because they opened preorders before the work was even started and EU protection laws had everyone entitled to a full refund if it didn't come out by that time
that's genuinely the only time they ever offered to actually pay him, and even in the end they just got one of their engineers to slap together a bunch of clips from the game to save money

Mick merely claiming something is not proof. I read his fricking blog. It doesn't have anything near the damning evidence you people think it does. It's 90% unsubstantiated claims and 10% cherry picked evidence.

Nobody said it is 100% damning evidence, and that we know the full story, but DOES directly disprove many things the id reddit post claimed, including whether enough time was given to the OST or not. Unless you think the emails are fabricated, or that they are extremely cherry picked, to which I say that it is highly unlikely.

He didn't provide emails. He provided screenshots of portions of emails out of context. I did notice for some he made a point of showing the date but for others he deliberately cropped out the date. That's suspicious to me.

Yeah when you're an EP at one of the largest game companies you should be professional because it's fricked up that his unprofessional behavior means a ton of other people now need to do more work. When you are that high up, and saying things on behalf of a company, it is not "soulless" to respect the reality that what you say will have an impact on other people's jobs. If anything it's fricking soulless to not give a frick about your fellow co-workers and put more work on them because you wanted to get into a big internet fight with a former contractor on reddit.

Actually when you are in a management position the reality is you are responsible for others, that's precisely what it means to be in a management position. This is not even debatable anon, that's factually the difference between someone in a management position and someone who isn't.

Literally the complete opposite. They know Mick doesn't care enough to go to court over it so they said >teehee, we got the last word in, if you wanna say any more you'll have to take us to court >btw we're owned by microsoft
Of course he's is just going to drop it, he'd lose even if he had a video of Hugo Martin saying he wants to rape and kill him.
Can you show me a single example of M$ losing a court battle? Because I can pull up a bunch they won that that ought not have including the merger they're fighting right now and will definitely end in their victory.
You're a fricking moron defending the US government thinking it's not corrupt as shit.
It helps but it doesn't guarantee a win. The facts being on your side guarantees a win. Courts don't appreciate their time being wasted and are acutely aware of the financial disparity between just some guy and a major corporation so the idea they can just drag it out until the other guy goes broke is nonsense. Not only is it possible for a nobody individual to beat a rich corporation in the courts but it is actually a common enough outcome that often they will just want to settle without going to court even in times when they're actually in the right.
>The facts being on your side guarantees a win.
Clearly not if you admit that having money can help. If the facts were the only thing that mattered in guaranteeing a win then money wouldn't help at all, you contradict yourself moron.

No one knows the full story, so pick your side and belligerently defend it with half truths.
You basically have 50//50 odds of being able to toadaso people when court docs come out.
Corporate white knighting is turbogay though.
I did some private construction work for several very rich people.
Yes, they are fricking c**ts. They're absolutely detached from reality, they have ZERO social skills, and even have no self-awareness or basic common sense. They're all vapid and absolutely fricking dumb. The moment someone becomes rich enough they attract a lot of beta-orbiters who'll enforce their vain worldview and repeatedly tell them how smart they are.
Most of those c**ts don't even know how to use a dishwasher or how to prepare a simple meal.
And most of their business venues are managed by actual smart people behind the scenes, without whom the rich fricks would be biting rocks.
I'm probably the farthest you can get from being a leftist, but I agree with one statement - kill and eat the fricking rich, they have a negative value for the society.
And if you walk down a street in a poor neighborhood you might be murdered by poor people for your shoes. Poor people are utterly soulless. Who murders someone for shoes?
>You say obscenely rich people are moronic and don't bring any value? Well did you know that that obscenely poor people are that way too?

Mick refused without being paid for the previous matter (more music used by company vs what they paid him for). > Company then creates their own release ost which is incredibly shitty. > People complain about the release ost. > Mick tells people what happened. > Company, on a private account, says their side of the story. > After several months, Mick, with proof in hand, goes public about everything. > Company then says they're taking the matter to court.

You people are moronic. He actually provided very little evidence. Just snippets of things out of context to support only a fraction of his claims. Maybe he's telling the truth. Maybe he's not. Regardless anyone who thinks he's proven his side of the story is a moron.
Either way, what Stratton did a pants on head moronic move to make regarding the handling of the situation. Dude should’ve been fired on those grounds alone and if bethesda/zeni wanted to make moves on Mick, they could’ve done so quietly through the courts. Anyone would be in the right to defend themselves the way Mick did after that debacle.
>marty makes a callout post on twitter full of claims with zero evidence behind them >mick disputes the claims with tangible evidence >bethesda responds with funny corporate twitter .jpeg saying they have the evidence and will sue >a year ago and still nothing
shut the frick up
the fricked up thing is they actually goaded mick into breaking nda, by making up lies that he had to refute
so bethesda’s reply was about that. they have no actual evidence to dispute what mick said. instead their court battle will be about whether mick was justified in breaking nda to dispel bethesda’s lies that would diminish his career as a musician.
the actual fricked up thing is that they don't care
they know people are gonna bark on twitter for a week or two about them not addressing the actual issue, and they know people will forget by the time they release their next shiny digital toy
There's gotta be some defense for that considering Marty was as close to being as libelous as possible with that statement.
Though the counter to that claim would also be "Why didn't you take it to court first?" which would put the screws to Mick either way. Sucks for him, if so.
My favorite part of this saga was this huge breakdown some fricking redditor gave closely inspecting the mix and pointing out how shitty the remix was but it turns out every “flaw” he was attributing the remix was actually the original mick track

Lets put it on a level you understand, because you seem to be a capital-G "Gamer"
If you were contracted to work on a part of a new and updated Electronic Health Record for a hospital because your work on the previous iteration was well regarded, but then several hurdles the company put in your way (like severe time constraints meant your work was hampered but you still did the work. The company then began cutting out your part of the Electronic Health Record and shopping it out to other hospitals and pharmacies, but their margins were not clean and the software they're selling doesn't play well with other computer systems. Naturally, you wouldn't want your name attached as "Joe Schmo's Patient Manager plugin" when it is faulty and prone to crashing, and seek to correct the public record. Is it this guys fault for hoping his work wouldn't be cut up in such a way that it reflects poorly on future career aspects? He worked on the OST for a month. The OST is not the same as the game soundtrack you have to touch that shit up. Not only that they included some of the shit that he made that originally got refused by the team because they didn’t like it. Some of those tracks are in the game too and they didn’t pay him for any of that shit.
This is kinda misunderstood.
But they started the pissing match in the first place ... On Reddit none the less
No, they did not. Mick Gordon was the first to make a public comment. The reddit shit was someone responding to a personal attack from Mick Gordon.
>someone
>Marty Stratton is an executive producer and game director for id Software
https://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/gdg25y/doom_eternal_ost_open_letter/
I don't care who he was. Point is Mick Gordon started the fight. That link you posted has him talking about Mick's public statements on the matter. People are claiming it's the first volley when it's specifically in response to something.
>Person critiques a work of art using their name despite wishes against it
>Publisher of said art launches a missile that impacts said persons career for years
>"well the person shouldnt have said anything at all!"
I still don't get what his beef is with Mick, he started gunning on him for no reason.
>for no reason
Read the post and you'll know why.
My dude, you don't even have your facts right. Refrain from posting if all you can do is spread misinformation due to your own stupidity.
Evidence currently supports that Mick's claim is true by the way.
the id soft guy (not bethesda btw) was responding to accusations that mick gordon wasn't given enough time to do the ost, not the ost isnt made by mick. ok, some accusations said that the ost is "bad" because it's not done by mick, but then again, it's pretty much mixed result.
anyway, from mick "clarification" bethesda, at first, was more helpful than the id guy. beth was willing to pay the contract (+bonus) and consider this bickering done. but the id guy intervened, and said mick didnt deserve the pay because he didnt fulfill his contract (which is true, even by mick's account).
so basically, both the id guy (marty) and mick are c**ts.
>bethesda, at first, was more helpful than the id guy. beth was willing to pay the contract (+bonus) and consider this bickering done
no, they were desperate to speedrun an OST release because they opened preorders before the work was even started and EU protection laws had everyone entitled to a full refund if it didn't come out by that time
that's genuinely the only time they ever offered to actually pay him, and even in the end they just got one of their engineers to slap together a bunch of clips from the game to save money
I'm done trying to explain the situation to you. It's pretty clear you are a moron and are struggling to understand what actually happened. Anon, if you need to mass reply to 4 people explaining why you are wrong, that might be the time for you to go back and review the facts.
My guy, I don't understand what your deal is. Are you Marty? Or someone from ID? Or you're just pretending to be moronic? Why do you keep saying nonsense that is provably false?
>provably false
Mick merely claiming something is not proof. I read his fricking blog. It doesn't have anything near the damning evidence you people think it does. It's 90% unsubstantiated claims and 10% cherry picked evidence.
Nobody said it is 100% damning evidence, and that we know the full story, but DOES directly disprove many things the id reddit post claimed, including whether enough time was given to the OST or not. Unless you think the emails are fabricated, or that they are extremely cherry picked, to which I say that it is highly unlikely.
Deal with it.
Make me.
>My guy
>Yikes, like my dude, do you even
Please have a nice day.
This. It never even occurred to me that the poster to whom you are responding doesn't understand what an OST actually means.
>be le professional
No, frick off you soulless husk of a man.
Do you want your boss to spit in your face?
I want to call him a c**t if he does.
>Y-YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR ME!!
No lol
>NO YOU SEE BEING A CORPORATE SUIT IS ACTUALLY REALLY BASED AND SOULFUL
kek
>No lol
Actually when you are in a management position the reality is you are responsible for others, that's precisely what it means to be in a management position. This is not even debatable anon, that's factually the difference between someone in a management position and someone who isn't.
t. Black person
>be an butthole and a snake is le SOVL
No.
I expect the truth to be somewhere in the middle, but who knows.
Yeah that's a weird thing since they started the pissing match in the first place.
>If they're going to court instead of settling they're probably in the right.
No, they literally pulled the "I totally have evidence, but she lives in Canada/goes to a different school" excuse.
>has evidence
>has enough money to bankrupt an opposing individual with lawyers fees and an army of lawyers to draw the proceedings out as long as possible
pick one
They already tried offering him a settlement.
Literally the complete opposite. They know Mick doesn't care enough to go to court over it so they said
>teehee, we got the last word in, if you wanna say any more you'll have to take us to court
>btw we're owned by microsoft
Of course he's is just going to drop it, he'd lose even if he had a video of Hugo Martin saying he wants to rape and kill him.
>HURR DURR THE COURTS ARE RIGGED! THE BIG CORPORATIONS ALWAYS WIN!
God, you people are so stupid.
Can you show me a single example of M$ losing a court battle? Because I can pull up a bunch they won that that ought not have including the merger they're fighting right now and will definitely end in their victory.
You're a fricking moron defending the US government thinking it's not corrupt as shit.
Not him but money does help in court cases, anon. You'd have to be an ultra mega moron to think otherwise.
>The facts being on your side guarantees a win.
LOL
Exactly. Do people really not realize that in the reality we live in proof and facts don't matter? Only thing that matters is how many people believe the story you are telling. It sucks but its the way it is
you sound like you wouldn’t take delta-p very seriously until it sucked your arm through a hole. work on that.
do you really think american courts are about truth or justice
>If they're going to court instead of settling they're probably in the right.
Lol.
You're so fricking moronic it hurts. They already offered him hush money and he rejected it. At least read the fricking article before posting autistic comments like a Black person
Based. Frick all of these microsoft detractor vermin.
>Ok fine let's settle this in court...
>Oops turns out our armies of lawyers found a way to delay :^)
>6 months later
>Heheh wouldn't you know it... motion to delay for [bullshit reason]
>etc ad nauseam
>music
>just random fast loud noise
Is this boomer's dubstep?
Who cares Eternal sucks.
No one knows the full story, so pick your side and belligerently defend it with half truths.
You basically have 50//50 odds of being able to toadaso people when court docs come out.
Corporate white knighting is turbogay though.
I agree with this post, we don't have the full story, we may never actually know, but it's a horrible shitshow and I find it hard to look away.
He is just a musician. Why should anyone care?
Hopefully AI can start composing soundtracks so these prima donnas go away.
His name is Mick? I always thought it was Nick
Wrong timeline
nick gur
>Marty going full insane israelite on this guy
Still makes no sense to me maybe all high level business people are just mad
Don't be such a moron.
>You say obscenely rich people are moronic and don't bring any value? Well did you know that that obscenely poor people are that way too?
Kill murderous poor people too. The world would be a better place.
>be poor
>nobody comes around and starts a business
>stay poor
Good plan
Smug.
>hehe thankfully the rich steered clear of our village
>shit blood to death
>I am not a leftoid, now here are some leftoid truisms and my own anecdotal experiences and just flat out guesses that rich people are le devil
Yeah, sure.
*sip*
Are you saying it's stupid to form your world view around your life experiences?
you're arguing with a child, online
internet arguments are not so much about convincing the other arguer, as they are about convincing the people watching.
There are people watching?
I'm convinced it's a pissing match
According to you lefti- oh sorry, """those""" leftists, yes, that's dangerous and might lead to you developing beliefs that don't align with "theirs".
You're so poisoned you think any outside though from a theoretical party line is tantamount to betrayal. Get a life.
I'm not following a party line, I'm implying that I don't believe the homosexual when he says "dude I'm totally not X, now here's X's party line."
That actually is the definition of following an ideological line and attacking other who don't tow that ideological line perfectly.
tldr? bing ai isn't working right now
Some loser screwed up the soundtrack and is trying to blame Bethesda for it.
> Mick was contracted to do X time of music for the game.
> Development of the product went sideways, angering both sides.
> Company asked Mick to give all music produced, and ended up using more than double the time of music they paid Mick to produce.
> Company then wanted to force Mick to do a subpar extra product (release ost) without time.
>HURR DURR HE PRESENTED IRREFUTABLE PROOF
You people are moronic. He actually provided very little evidence. Just snippets of things out of context to support only a fraction of his claims. Maybe he's telling the truth. Maybe he's not. Regardless anyone who thinks he's proven his side of the story is a moron.
Frick off Marty.
Either way, what Stratton did a pants on head moronic move to make regarding the handling of the situation. Dude should’ve been fired on those grounds alone and if bethesda/zeni wanted to make moves on Mick, they could’ve done so quietly through the courts. Anyone would be in the right to defend themselves the way Mick did after that debacle.
>marty makes a callout post on twitter full of claims with zero evidence behind them
>mick disputes the claims with tangible evidence
>bethesda responds with funny corporate twitter .jpeg saying they have the evidence and will sue
>a year ago and still nothing
shut the frick up
the fricked up thing is they actually goaded mick into breaking nda, by making up lies that he had to refute
so bethesda’s reply was about that. they have no actual evidence to dispute what mick said. instead their court battle will be about whether mick was justified in breaking nda to dispel bethesda’s lies that would diminish his career as a musician.
the actual fricked up thing is that they don't care
they know people are gonna bark on twitter for a week or two about them not addressing the actual issue, and they know people will forget by the time they release their next shiny digital toy
people have already forgot about the nda detail itt so yeah. not surprising.
There's gotta be some defense for that considering Marty was as close to being as libelous as possible with that statement.
Though the counter to that claim would also be "Why didn't you take it to court first?" which would put the screws to Mick either way. Sucks for him, if so.

Frick Bethesda and frick Id for what they did to one of the best vidya composers left.
doom is shit and i always turned off the music so i could hear audio cues
How hard is it to make a game without israeliteing someone over
not hard.
materialism is cancer for the soul though.
soulcancer rates are high.
Consider the publisher's ~~*shareholders*~~ and you will release it is impossible in current AAA games and that's before ESG homosexualry
I can't believe Bethesda employees have time to shitpost about Mick Gordon in Ganker.
Literally no one gives a shit except autistic morons like yourself that care more about drama than video games. You are emotionally a woman.
Who cares eternal is a shit game and thanks to that shitty dlc killed doom for good
Mick is a fricking deva
Marty Stratton is a homosexual
My favorite part of this saga was this huge breakdown some fricking redditor gave closely inspecting the mix and pointing out how shitty the remix was but it turns out every “flaw” he was attributing the remix was actually the original mick track
>zoom eternal
>getting filtered by the marauder
What's with the recent trend of posting a cropped image of a headline that contains no information and assuming everyone knows what the frick this is about?
What you get for working on a shitty, soulless sequel to a shitty, soulless reboot of a game that never needed a fricking reboot.
Play the original Doom and let this modern trash die.
No thanks
Even the most soulless corporate garbage, as you would like to claim this is, has hard work and sweat poured into it.
>Company screws over sound guy who made their games great
Sure sounds like Bungie v. O'Donnell
Give me "I sawed the Demons" any day over his shitty dubstep score. Never thought I'd see someone get so viciously defensive over a subpar job.
