>life as we know it
It will be: > buggy > will take a thousand years to load a single building > will run like shit at sub 30 fps and will take years until the modders will patch it > most if not all of the systems shown in the trailer would be exposed as shallow husks
And then these morons on this board will go to great lengths to protect this game.
Ranked from most obviously false to most likely to be almost true: >Buildings will not take a thousand years to load
Improbable to the point of impossible >Will run sub 30fps
Extremely unlikely >Systems will be shallow
Completely subjective, but unlikely compared to any except games dedicated to those systems >Buggy
Likely to have some to many bugs. Would need a definition of how frequent they would be for the game to be labeled "buggy"

Not an argument. Skyrim didn't take years to load buildings, didn't have shallow systems, and had pretty stable fps on 360. There were bugs, but for the most part they were additive rather than detracting. I never encountered any bug of note that lessened my experience.

Why does this board have so many Bethesda/Microsoft shills? The former hasn't made a good game in 12 years and the latter is a cancerous anti customer company. I find it hard to believe an organic fanbase exists for either of these companies.
Honestly the coolest planets I've found in NMS were largely lifeless. I remember there being one where the only visible colour was red, and it had really weird geoformations and the surface was largely flat with huge disc-shaped holes in the ground that sometimes connected.
Logged in the next day after building there and it was covered in fricking grass and dumb lumpy animals.

This. Same goes for elite dangerous (before they butchered it with the dlc). Driving around the giant empty planets is incredibly serene.
Finding a planet in no mans sky that had animals that literally were flying cannonballs was one of my favorite parts.
I then tamed one of them and started cosplaying Baron Munchausen.
Are you moronic? He's going for realism. 10% is too much except if it's about human colonization. Honestly if you want to have life on every planet go play no man's onions.
You be surprised how realistic that actually is. An early interstellar version of humanity could look exactly like that mainly due to spreading resources too thin. Starfield appears to be going with the philosophy that humans will be in a frantic "land grab style" of the frontier years of the US. This time it will just be with planets.
Because of this the laws will not be able to catch up with this expansion nor will it be able to properly cover all the wrong doing. So to make up for the lack of proper high tech infrastructure, which requires hundres to thousands of years to build up. Various governments will employ sheriff's and individuals to carry it out.
Looking at it another way, it took early modern humans at least 100,000 years to settle infrastructure on 29% of Earth (71% of Earth is Water). Even if you could cut that settling by a sixth that's about 16,000-16,500 years. Now do that for up to possibly 100 planets with an average distance of 25 trillion miles (nearest habitable planet to Earth is Proxima Centauri b which is 4.2 light years or 25 trillion miles).
Starfield is still being extremely generous and highly fictional with shantytpwns and cowboys. The game supposed to be taking place 2330 AD. People need to properly understand how herculean of a task Humanity or any alien species becoming a interstellar civilization is.
>Starfield appears to be going with the philosophy that humans will be in a frantic "land grab style" of the frontier years of the US. This time it will just be with planets.
Dude what? Did you pull that out of your coping ass?
>What? How on earth did you deduce 2+2 is 4? Did you just pull that out of your ass?
Literally use your eyes Black person. They're settlers on the frontier of new planets. That is literally why they live in shantytowns, they're just getting established.
Have you been watching coverage of the game? Did you even bother with 30min demo during the Xbox show case?
One of the big narratives of the game deals with multiple settlement factions claiming their share of planets or space. Your character is working with an exploration team originally seeded by the government. Every aspect of the game shows you not only exploring space to find ancient aliens but also observing/interacting with humanity going borderline apeshit trying to grab anything that isn't bolted to the floor.
Matter of opinion. Realism adds immersion that can increase enjoyment of the game at large. That's probably why some people like Rockstar games which are filled with incredibly boring auxilary mechanics. I hate them because I find the core gameplay loop in those games quite mundane, but in Bethsoft games I enjoy the core loop enough that the little worldbuilding flourishes increase my enjoyment.

ALso life could mean a couple of copy pasted alien dinosaur models like we saw in the demo.
>land on planet >nothing there but dinosaurs >kill dinosaur >"You picked up 3 exotic meats" >Leave planet
The idea of it is fun but it's going to get boring fast. Bethesda games are the last kind of games you want to play for the crafting. Soulless and shallow.
>Todd says the game has 1000 planets >Ganker: NOOOOOOO THAT'S TOO HECKING MANY YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST DONE 100 THERE'S NO WAY YOU CAN MAKE CONTENT FOR ALL OF THOSE >Todd says only 100 planets have life >Ganker: NOOOOOO YOU HAVE TO HECKING MAKE EVERY PLANET SUPER DENSE WITH CONTENT
I won't go exploring on of these planets anyway so this effects my opinion very little, but it seems sufficient to me. If you want to be an honest trader you can explore lifeless planets for resources, if you want to find good spots for a space house you can, if you want to find quests you can. I don't see the problem.
I'll spend most of my time on the pleasure planet doing space piracy and space drugs.
>I don't see the problem.
people dont understand what procedural generation is so they think these empty planets are implemented in place of actual content, rather than as an addition to it
cool platitudes bro however bethesda has not done procedurally generated shit before and the implementation here is for the purpose of giving the player blank slate planets to make a base on. No amount of moronic one liners you can spout make this any less true
from this >Waaah 1000 planets is too much they should have done 100 really good planets with life
to this >Waaah only 100 planets have life this game sucks
If you don't find the exploration, quests, combat, and ship/basebuilding meaningful then maybe just don't play it. Honestly all videogames are meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It is an entirely unproductive hobby

Content isn't a buzzword. It's a noun that communicates a meaningful concept in a general way. There is no comparable word to replace it with to impart the same idea. Would you prefer "things to do"? "Quests" is more descriptive but does not encompass the totality of activities available to entertain or provide fulfillment in the game.
In order for a word to be a buzzword it would need to be used for something other than imparting an idea that other words could not convey.
>Set up mini resource gathering outposts on lifeless planets >Have your minions ship all the resources to your main base on Kino planet
What's the problem?
Did you have a point? Or is hundreds of hours of content not good enough for you? What is your threshold for RPG content quantity?
>Set up mini resource gathering outposts on lifeless planets >Have your minions ship all the resources to your main base on Kino planet
What's the problem?
Post reply for you guys who are confused.
Life doesn't mean there won't be content on the barren planets for you to explore.
One barren planet on the video for example showed a potential crew mate at a mining outpost you can pick up. Also, Mars would count as a barren planet and we saw some content for that planet.
Are you moronic? He's going for realism. 10% is too much except if it's about human colonization. Honestly if you want to have life on every planet go play no man's onions.
wasn't the main defense of this game the lack of realism? Which is why fuel will never run out and warp jump space travel exists and psychic powers?
>Which is why fuel will never run out and warp jump space travel exists and psychic powers?
No, from the beginning they were trying to go for less fantasy and more realism. The fuel not running out came from playtesters just getting bored and playing on their phones while waiting for the game to farm enough fuel.
At first running out of fuel would trigger random encounters where people could come to try and save you, or just kill and steal your ship. But in reality most players would just reload the game, or they would stop to farm fuel in some planet and just start playing on their phone while waiting for the game to finish.
The reality is that most people don't enjoy getting their game forcibly halted while they are trying to complete an interesting quest.
In my experience, there are only two developers that have truly captured what a grand open world adventure should feel like. A game where you're free to do as you please and the possibilities are endless. And those two developers are Bethesda and Nintendo. So I can understand why Snoys are upset.

Ps3 outsold 360. What a moronic question

>outsold
lol. And? Skyrim outsold all other RPGs. What are you saying?
Why? They seem chill. They gave Tim Schafer the money to add bossfights in Psychonauts 2. They let Josh Sawyer make his passion side project. Pretty much every developer under them speaks graciously of their partnership with Microsoft.
>Microsoft gives Bethesda additional resources
Just like they gave Arkane and 343 additional resources
>Just like they gave Arkane and 343 additional resources
They quite literally did. Halo Infinite and Redfall each received an entire extra year of delay. Those games failed on their own accord.
If Starfield is successful it will be because Microsoft gave them the resources
If it's a flop then Bethesda failed on its own accord and has nothing to do with Microsoft
Also this logic applies to Microsoft and only Microsoft. When Nintendo or Sony fund bad games it's their fault.

Yeah, plenty of games use randomized procedural mechanics. One of my favorite games of all time, Civilization, is infinitely replayable because a new map is generated every game.
Anonymous
>where are the random loot boxes and collectibles in Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4
Literally bobbleheads and magazines and loot chests designed to be the 'reward' for clearing a location, completely unwritten, inorganic, pure gameplay. Which isn't inherently a problem on its' own, but it indicates a preference for filling a world with the gameplay equivalent of mashed potatoes, big bland and filling hours and hours of generic content where you enter a ruined grocery store, or a fort, or an old hospital, or whatever, and shoot a bunch of unnamed bad guys and there's a legendary boss enemy who drops a 'unique' weapon that's just a normal weapon with a perk on it, not an actually unique item, then you finish the area and open a big box full of junk and resources and leave and do it all again. No stories, no characters, no quests, no writing, nothing. You can copy-paste the exact same mechanics anywhere you want, filling a game world without having to pay writers and designers. It's *cheap*. Which is why New Vegas is vastly superior, because despite doing that same thing a little bit to fill in spaces, the vast majority of such spaces have *some* kind of writing and direction, even if that's just some notes and corpses that tell an environmental story. There was some of that in 3, and almost none of that in 4. I could probably go through and list maybe 40 or 50 unique environmental story things in base Fallout 4 total, across the entire map, and that's including things like 'placing two skeletons together on a bed to indicate a couple who died together', which is SUCH a low bar. Bethesda is fricking sloppy and lazy.
>Bethesda and Nintendo
I enjoy TES but it has never once felt like a grand, open world adventure. More like a small reserve where everyone has been told I'm the big dick.
And current Zelda is a fricking mistake
So what OP? Starflight was a kino game and most of its planets were gas giants and lava worlds. The plot was revealed through aliens you met between planets, and through ruins on planets which the Gazurtoid and Uhlek had nuked already.
The lore led you to the planets which were worth something. Otherwise you could go mining for resources to fix your ship or sell back on Arth.
Sorry that not every planet in the game has a bathhouse and a gloryhole, maybe you should be less of an idiot and the gay bars will let you back in
>moronic journo thinks 100 planets being habitable is something that should be preceded with "only" >TESIV only had 63 Oblivion gates total >those were small, repetitive, and filled with the same 10 or so enemies >these will be massive, uniquely generated, and have their own individual flora and fauna to catalog
Some people just deserve to be throttled for their stupidity.
I'm also excited for mod possibilities, though. Especially simple stuff like adding running out of gas back in. I want to bait pirates to my ship with an SOS signal and then slaughter their crews in the black.
He’s just trying too hard to be funny. Maybe people will have a laugh this time around.
Jannies really need to fix the spam on this board. It’s embarrassing
Amaze people still think this is going to be a good game Todd literally hated Morrowind and thought Skyrim was a good game. That is the type of person you are trusting to produce a good game. Dude hates RPGs outright and even publicly admitted to such. He honestly follow the mindset that a video game should be a movie. The best case is that Todd is giving zero fricks and zero feedback to the dev team making the game. That is the only hope of the game being any good. Dude honestly hate fun and don't even seem to understand why people love playing games.
The moment they revealed that Starfield was going to be a wide open universe, I commented to a friend of mine that there would be '10,000 hours of content, and 4 hours of content', and I stand by that. There's going to be tons and tons of planets to explore with essentially fricking nothing to do. Probably random loot boxes and collectibles scattered out and absolutely nothing of any real importance. Essentially the same amount of content as Fallout 4, but spread out over a thousand times as much map for absolutely no fricking reason.
>astronauts of the future
homie, you all jerk off to cartoons, the frick you are talking about, gamers are the lowest chian in the food chain, and talking about food chain, forget about space and start flipping some burgers son
Also realistic is not fun you moronic frick, if real life is so fun then why play videgames at all, you dick muncher
Wait, there's aliens in this game? I'm surprised to hear there's any at all, I except a world populated only by like 2 human cities and endless raider settlements.
>Actually feels like you're discovering new planets instead of NMS where there's outposts on every planet and a space station above it
I'm going to fill a planet with life, using my space babes as breeding cows
>Todd says shipbuilding and settlement building are late game mechanics
Meaning there has to be a ton of questing content to support a playthrough until then.
What are you sperging about?
That anon didn't claim it was all high quality, creative quest content.
Also Todd admitting Starfield has some typical generic quests in no way implies there aren't plenty of good quests to enjoy as you level up.
>YOU DON'T NEED A GOOD GAME >YOU DON'T NEED GOOD SPACE EXPLORATION >YOU DONT NEED FUEL TO EXPLORE >YOU DONT NEED PLAYABLE ALIENS AND NPCS >YOU DONT NEED MODS >YOU DONT NEED MORE PLANETS >YOU DONT NEED BUSTLING PLANET WITH SENTIENT LIFE
100 planets with life on them is still very ambitious and I doubt they'll be able to create the biodiversity needed to make each planet totally unique. Still better than having every other planet populated by a handful of procedurally generated penis monsters that don't make sense at all like NMS.
That's a good question that I don't believe has been answered yet. I saw something about someone calculating the size based on gravity, but obviously that won't translate. Someone would need to calculate based off curvature.
That wouldn’t work either. The “planets” are obviously going to be flat because you just load into them and load out. This shit is so far behind Outer Wilds - a literal hipster indie game - that it’s sad.
You're acting as if this is a huge technical challenge. It's not. It only requires halfway clever spatial architecture. So a game like Skyrim is broken up into world cells, a grid of them are kept loaded in memory around the player. To wrap a grid of cells, all you have to do is load in the cells from the edge of the map when the player nears the opposite edge. It's a little more complicated than that if you want it to feel more spherical (the most basic implementation represents a torus-shaped world), but that's the basic idea. Even minesweeper did this.
How do the planet's "work" actually? They explained it's not like a planet is a worldspace you can circumnavigate, but its somehow the stitching things together.
But take pic related for example. I COULD press A and land at that spot. lets say I build an outpost there or drop an item or whatever. go back to the star map and move the curser a bit further north and land again. Do those 2 spots get connected somehow? Is there a limit on total landing sites? Can I just chain 50 landing sites together to "create" a ring of cells/worldspaces connecting around the planet?
How i imagine it's going to work; >planet is divided into roughly equal tiles/world-spaces >when you choose a location and land, the closest tile generates a (large) area based on the coords of the tile >you can't travel between these large tiles >points of interest are placed based on the tile's properties etc >in order to travel to another, you have to open the map and land via your ship
honestly it's kinda understandable, having a fully seamless planet is just a pain in the ass (and can destroy performance in some cases)
this is sort of a system i've been using for my own game, in most situations it's not that noticeable for most players
but the main reason is that it's just so much easier to work with, and allows us to actually generate roads, rivers and erosion - which is EXTREMELY difficult to do in a seamless procedural way, games like Minecraft just fake these terrain features
Gotcha, so if I simply choose another landing site close by I'd still land on the same tile with the same generated or placed features.
So I guess either generated features (large rifts or ridges), gameplay mechanics (radiation, heat, cold, weather) or invisible walls will prevent traversing the tile border?
its already confirmed there will be automated landing and takeoff which essentially act as loading screens, and confirmed that land and space are two separate realities
im still gonna play it but i am disappoint
honestly I'm just pissed at not dogfighting in a canyon or having a super secret outpost built in a crater that takes tight maneuvering to land in.
>in order to travel to another, you have to open the map and land via your ship
these games have been loading tiles around you seamlessly as you walk, why would they revert that now
I'm assuming each tile would be extremely big, like around the size of the entire Fallout 4 map, it's still going to be divided up into cells in order to load.
But having a completely seamless planet is magnitudes harder than having chunk/cell based open-world.
If you were actually able to walk around the entire planet, there would have been no reason to not include atmospheric flight or vehicles.
>If you were actually able to walk around the entire planet
what's so complicated about that, just load tile A once player reach tile Z
To me, there's no atmospheric flight/vehicles bc they're dumb and lazy, it brings a whole set of things to test and balance in an already bug-prone game so just get rid of it

You'd quickly run into floating point errors – I know CE2 (Creation Engine 2) uses 64bit transform-data, but it's still a massive issue for a game with as much interactivity as Starfield, which tracks the transform-data of almost every object in the world, whilst not using a voxel layer to generate the terrain.
You also need to consider how physics works across the entire planet, it's much easier to just have it as a flat plane.
One of Bethesda's shticks is not re-inventing the wheel to do something (train head NPC for example), a tile-based solution is magnitudes simpler to implement into CE2.

Ironic. I know for a fact that you are prescribed medication and contemplate suicide. You know this as well, and it is very likely a crippling source of insecurity. You are here to get a rise from people because it makes you feel like you have some impact on the world around you, regardless of how completely hollow and trivial that impact is. You should seriously seek help

Again, your inability to comprehend basic concepts is astounding. The game isn't forcing you to visit 1000 planets, so even if you think 900 planets are "shit" it is not 90% of the game. By that logic 90% of most games are shit because the space between actual activities is "shit" but very few genres place their action points an inch away from eachother.

You're suggesting every blade of grass in RPGs need to be built to fully engage you because it is part of the game and thus needs to be fully entertaining.
Your argument is clearly farcical to the point of being cringeworthy.
still 100 planets, and the other planets will have content on them too. Keep seething sony soys maybe 5 years from now you can pick up a xbox series x cheap if you can drag your butthole of your boyfriends penis
It's probably that way because you can build your base. So you can go check out lifeless empty planets that are however procgenned until you find one you like then start a base on it.
I'm not saying the system is good but reasonably that is why
It's probably that way because you can build your base. So you can go check out lifeless empty planets that are however procgenned until you find one you like then start a base on it.
I'm not saying the system is good but reasonably that is why
actual sole reasonable explanation but Ganker will continue screeching about how >BUT IT'S SO LIFELESS
I mean a certain game had life on pretty much all planets and it still fricking sucks to this day. Dunno if that is a requirement to make the game good, as long as the stuff you can do on said planets is engaging.
The coolest planet I visited in NMS had no life on it at all, just really cool crystal megastructures. I built a little base there and uninstalled the game.
Did morons really think they could possibly have 1000 earth-like, content filled planets or that it wouldn't be weird if there wasn't more pretty mineral balls, gas giants, etc, than planets with life?
People acting upset over this just proves how moronic they are. So often it feels like people are just actively looking for anything to complain about or make shitty click bait over, these days.
Hope you can land on the sun with unique death animation.
Hell, land on a planet close to the sun like in riddick's prison planet.
Maybe have a riddick conditional death creatures overrun planet too.
Who are you quoting?
Also it's not Skyrim in space. It's fallout in space like everyone knew it was going to be. Who thought it wasn't a space bethsoft game?
>Also it's not Skyrim in space. It's fallout in space
Bethesda's "fallout" is oblivion in space and skyrim is lolblibion 2. So it is oblibion in space.
The latter. It's a bethesda game, it's gamebryo, they still work with cells and shit.
At most, and thats if you're lucky, the 2x2km map will loop. If they can figure that out. Maybe they'll jsut make it procedurally generate empty cells to simulate the vastness of the planet or whatever
Ganker doesn't know what it wants. If 90-100% of the planets had life you'd be criticising it for being unrealistic.
Ganker wants a realistic yet unrealistic game, literally a square circle.
Bethesda should not be here at all and you guys rapid fire threads until its impossible to ignore. If you spam threads about your game rather than just make them once in awhile like a reasonable person that is a free invitation for me to come shit on it. All day its constant low quality bait threads, one after another.
>All day its constant low quality bait threads, one after another.
so morons make threads to shit on bethesda and to get back at them, you post in the threads to shit on bethesda. again, mentally ill. its really easy for me to just not click on threads i dont care about.
>so morons make threads to shit on bethesda and to get back at them
its funny you believe those threads are genuine. no one is making threads about games they don't like. its all spam. >its really easy for me to just not click on threads i dont care about.
when the first 20 threads in the catalogue are all for the same company it really isn't. and i know its not a bunch of people because the same glue eating underage moron makes the same exact threads for the same exact games altogether every day. this thread doesn't even have starfield in the title, so it is evading filters. things dont go away if you ignore them. the person making these threads needs to be permanently banned. forever.

10% of a 1000 planets. Do you know how much that is? 99% of players won't explore even 5% of those 10% planets.
Also if you play on PC, which you should, there will definitely be a mod that adds life to every planet or whatever.
its already confirmed there will be automated landing and takeoff which essentially act as loading screens, and confirmed that land and space are two separate realities
im still gonna play it but i am disappoint
Do we even know how big each planet is going to be, 10% of something we don't know how big doesn't really tell me anything
Exploring a hundred planet seems tedious already, I hope the core gameplay is good enough to make you want to explore and find shit, I don't want to be bored big the time I land on the 4th samey planet, I don't care if it as "life" space dinos on it or not, what's the gameplay like
>bethesda makes a worse version of nms >people will willingly buy it instead of playing nms
if you have xbox game pass just fricking play nms instead of starfield. kys toddbros
This is classic Bethesda apologists. Howard lies. morons fun and defend every lie and failed delivery. It’s a buggy mess and they just screech “mods will fix it!!!”
>Todd comes up on stage >Ganker wets their pants in memetic orgasm as he promises them the world >lies and exxagerates like he has for EVERY modern Bethesda game they made >Ganker believes everything because le epic Todd can do no wrong >contrarianism and denial all the way until the game releases >one week after release everyone will shitpost how barren the game is, or how shallow the combat or RPG elements are, while others will just say "idk it's fun" or "mods will fix it"
Repeat until Todd dies of old age. Then we can finally be free of Toddgays' contrarianism.
Theres people here and on various other corners of the internet who legitimately and with every atom in their being that Starfield will be some amazing game and that Bethesda has lived up to the mythological reputation its built up. Even after buggy, gamebreaking, crashing, ugly, poorly written, ladderless game they make, even after Horse Armor, being bought my Microsoft and Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, people here truly and with conviction believe Starfield will be good. They have already decided its going to be good even when every glaring narrative or gameplay related issue pops up.
These people can’t be helped. They know who they are, they feel no shame, they only know blind consumerism for a company who in various circles is the laughingstock of the industry.
rather have 100 properly made planets with life than 1000 planets with randomly generated bullshit. besides, why would every planet have life? none of the planets we know of have life on them as far as we can tell, certainly not mars.
The issue is that it's a game and there's fricking nothing to do on 90% of the land except stand still firing a laser at a rock, literally No Man's Sky AGAIN.
Did you homosexuals even watch the presentation? He said there will be more than 1000 planets with only a few with locations of interest and the rest being for gathering resources.
Life doesn't mean there won't be content on the barren planets for you to explore.
One barren planet on the video for example showed a potential crew mate at a mining outpost you can pick up. Also, Mars would count as a barren planet and we saw some content for that planet.
honestly I don't like bethesda's exploration game loop. harvesting materials to build things, mix potions or enchant things isn' the fun part for me.
The fun part is messing with around with the mixed potions/enchantments/upgrades/crafted things. Having 200% movement speed, one-hit killing enemies for 24 seconds, frenzying the entire town square, poisoning an entire restaurant by placing poisoned food all over.
[...]
This is why there's no vehicles. Planets are way too big to just walk between different landing zones, anon 😉
I seriously don't know what I'm expecting here. is every landing zone a worldspace that gets some random or handcrafted dungeons placed in it? are they connected through dungeon "gates" somehow? am I simply limited by oxygen depending on how far I can move away from the ship or invisible walls galore?
planet big
land anywhere
planet is doughnut shaped if you try to cross it
the UI ball is just that, a UI and not representative of actual geometry but rather a skewed version of the real doughnut
Its a 2d square grid that loops around itself by only rendering adjacent tiles in simple terms, it doesn't represent a perfect circle if you measure it but it can still be represented by a ball. I think it cant be perfectly represented because of representing curvature being problematic and the actual playable area is entirely flat
Life on other planets is unlikely if not nigh impossible, with the lack of the ultra-specific conditions earth had for supporting it. That's the reality of space exploration, but it's not very fun knowing that every planet going forward is going to be another dead wasteland, is it.
All that matters to me is if I can hire my own crew and fill it with beautiful white women that I frick as their salary and play a Harem Space Opera.
I will not buy this game otherwise.
>Planets need life to be interesting! Ever planet must coincidentally be in the goldilocks zone! No magnetic sky islands and seas of ammonia are not based! It has be to be like my le heckin Star Wars!
>Starfield has no free travel and everything is locked behind loading screens >Starfield has at best 100 planets which are more than just Mass Effect 2 tier scan "exploration" >no vehicles whatsoever >even your ship looks garbage with the trash customizations that all look like some Fallout 4 assets >the world design and character design is basically Fallout 4
This game looks and feels like Fallout 5: Escaping into space. It doesn't look as a new franchise at all and just like the idea of "making a space game", but being too incompetent to do it, so you just copy paste your Fallout 4 assets with some minor space gimmicks and that's it.
based, still buying game looks fricking amazing
only people seething at starfield are snoys anally annihilated that this is never ever coming to their consoles
Console warring is specific to insecure low income people who can only have one console and feel the need to "prove" that they made the right choice and everyone else is wrong. Usually that means children, but black people also overwhelmingly overlap into that category at all ages.
My running theory is that fighting games overall leaned towards Sony platform support more than Microsoft's and since blacks appear to love fighting games that means a significant amount of Snoys will be them.
jesus fricking christ what a sad autistic child
you are all just as bad as eachother, fricking children arguing about with fisher price toy makes the best bing bong yahoo noises
Pretty sure the actual problem with Starfield which people should be focusing on will be how inevitably repetitive it will be and how poor the writing and some of the creative decisions will probably be. I don't like seeing so many people focusing on trivial issues like the game having no vehicles or having not enough planets with life on them.
The amount of apologists for Bethesda's writing is hilarious, as if they're going to populate the whole game with good quests when they've never been good at writing them.
Snoys on cope and Seethe trying to hang at everything they can.
Im glad they are planning on adding DLCs andhelp8ng modders to add actual Aliens like Quarians, Turians or Sangueli, if we get a methane non oxigen planet we might get Unggoy too
Why bother having over 1000 Planets if over 900 of them will be empty filler material?
Wouldn't it have been much better to just settle for having 100 Planets that each have life?
Todd basically said that they could have done that, but instead decided to give players the option of visiting those other locations if they wanted to.
By including the barren planets as well, not only does it make the planets with life more special, but it makes the universe feel more 'real' as in a more fleshed out world, rather than small slice of a location.
It's a Bethesda game. 100 planets, 1000 planets, all the NPCs are gonna have the same 15 lines of dialog and non-Quest Givers will all have similar models in different robes.
"Patrolling the moon makes you wish for solar flares"
>explore millions of miles of procedurally generated rocks >our system can make so many kinds of empty biomes
It's worse than that >places with life don't have quests >quests are radial >manmade quests lack reactivity
The nicest thing I can say is they finally heard from the community, how it's silly your character's the leader of every organization, and so have 2 endstates for each guild (fighters, mages, thieves, etc.).
It's not much but it's about the only gameplay improvement I can point-out.
life as we know it
>life as we know it
It will be:

> will take a thousand years to load a single building

He's not wrong.
He's quite obviously wrong, which implies you are coping as well
How is he wrong?
Ranked from most obviously false to most likely to be almost true:
>Buildings will not take a thousand years to load
Improbable to the point of impossible
>Will run sub 30fps
Extremely unlikely
>Systems will be shallow
Completely subjective, but unlikely compared to any except games dedicated to those systems
>Buggy
Likely to have some to many bugs. Would need a definition of how frequent they would be for the game to be labeled "buggy"
yeah we know how polished and based syrim is!
Not an argument. Skyrim didn't take years to load buildings, didn't have shallow systems, and had pretty stable fps on 360. There were bugs, but for the most part they were additive rather than detracting. I never encountered any bug of note that lessened my experience.
>not an argument
I see you todd dick sucker. Skyrim also wasn't open world, stupid fricker.
>ignoring the point and countering with an obvious lie

Why does this board have so many Bethesda/Microsoft shills? The former hasn't made a good game in 12 years and the latter is a cancerous anti customer company. I find it hard to believe an organic fanbase exists for either of these companies.
NEVER

SNOY
You mean to tell me starfield isnt going to do a No Mans sky and create horrors yo try and make every planet has life.
This is a problem?
Honestly the coolest planets I've found in NMS were largely lifeless. I remember there being one where the only visible colour was red, and it had really weird geoformations and the surface was largely flat with huge disc-shaped holes in the ground that sometimes connected.
Logged in the next day after building there and it was covered in fricking grass and dumb lumpy animals.
This. Same goes for elite dangerous (before they butchered it with the dlc). Driving around the giant empty planets is incredibly serene.
Go outside
Finding a planet in no mans sky that had animals that literally were flying cannonballs was one of my favorite parts.
I then tamed one of them and started cosplaying Baron Munchausen.
Are you moronic? He's going for realism. 10% is too much except if it's about human colonization. Honestly if you want to have life on every planet go play no man's onions.
top kek this Hispanic is seething right now
Not an argument you know I'm right.
>Are you moronic? He's going for realism.
HOLY KEK, this is some of the finest cope I've ever heard, almost on par with Barry's
Jump off a roof, Xjeet.
Realism in a game where people build shantytowns on planets or larp as cowboys? Did a bot make this post?
how is that unrealistic
What is unrealistic about any of that?
This. When european settlers arrived in the Americas they instantly built gothic architecture and royal palaces too.
>Bethesda Open world space game
>Realism
homie are you moronic
Realism isn't fun though. He kept saying fun in that Starfield direct and this runs counter to that.
"Too much" realism. And anyway 100planets of good stuff and 900 chaff planets is still 100 times better than any other game that only has one planet
Glad I'm not alone frick these NMS munchers
Man Todd doesn't even have to lie himself anymore, you morons will fabricate fantastical nonsense all on your own for free
No space game is realistic after you play KSP none.
I know this anon triggered a bunch of contrarians because he's moronic but there's some truth to what he's saying. There is nothing more bland than space games with life all over the place. It completely robs the setting of atmosphere.
Wait if he's going for realism why doesn't fuel run out? Why are there no vehicles? How does this planet look like Earth when it has 0% O2
Going for a realistic aesthetic/feel doesn't mean you need to go full sim.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS IS ABOUT ART OKAY
STARFIELD IS GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE ITS GOING TO BE POWERFUL ITS GOING TO CHANGE THE MEDIUM FOREVER STOP ASKING QUESTIONS AND MAKING OBSERVATIONS JUST FRICKING BUY IT AND SHUT UP UNLESS YOU ARE SAYING HOW MUCH YOU LIKE IT
No! Every planet must full of lives like in No Man Sky
>He's going for realism.
Can't wait for the Toilet DLC and intestinal parasite expansion pack and the update that forces you to not play the game for 6 hours because your character is asleep.
If hes going for realism then make 98% of the game empty space, because thats what the universe is actually like
>realism
>lasers, FTL travel, VTOL bricks
common core brain
>FTL travel
let's not open that can of worms again
aren't there supposed to be 1000+ planets so that would mean 100 planets have life right?
Yes, if anything it's too much but sonygays are trying to act like it's not enough
ALso life could mean a couple of copy pasted alien dinosaur models like we saw in the demo.
>land on planet
>nothing there but dinosaurs
>kill dinosaur
>"You picked up 3 exotic meats"
>Leave planet
The idea of it is fun but it's going to get boring fast. Bethesda games are the last kind of games you want to play for the crafting. Soulless and shallow.
>Todd says the game has 1000 planets
>Ganker: NOOOOOOO THAT'S TOO HECKING MANY YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST DONE 100 THERE'S NO WAY YOU CAN MAKE CONTENT FOR ALL OF THOSE
>Todd says only 100 planets have life
>Ganker: NOOOOOO YOU HAVE TO HECKING MAKE EVERY PLANET SUPER DENSE WITH CONTENT
I won't go exploring on of these planets anyway so this effects my opinion very little, but it seems sufficient to me. If you want to be an honest trader you can explore lifeless planets for resources, if you want to find good spots for a space house you can, if you want to find quests you can. I don't see the problem.
I'll spend most of my time on the pleasure planet doing space piracy and space drugs.
>I don't see the problem.
people dont understand what procedural generation is so they think these empty planets are implemented in place of actual content, rather than as an addition to it
Empty sandboxes with no toys is what bethesda does.
cool platitudes bro however bethesda has not done procedurally generated shit before and the implementation here is for the purpose of giving the player blank slate planets to make a base on. No amount of moronic one liners you can spout make this any less true
also space sex once coomer mods are made
Remember that Todd still loves you no matter how stupid or pedantic you are
Has the Rob Smith serial killer finally been unearthed
Funny how the Rob Smith Killer and Todd Howard are never in the same room together...
from this
>Waaah 1000 planets is too much they should have done 100 really good planets with life
to this
>Waaah only 100 planets have life this game sucks
>a big map with nothing in it
WE'RE GOING HOME BETHESDA BROS
>1000 planets
>900 of them are just mineral checklist planets
>100 have enemies
>10 have human settlements with quests
>B-BUT THE MODS
Did you have a point? Or is hundreds of hours of content not good enough for you? What is your threshold for RPG content quantity?
>content
>vapid meaningless response
Hundreads of hours of vapid meaningless nonsense sounds about right for a Bethesda game
If you don't find the exploration, quests, combat, and ship/basebuilding meaningful then maybe just don't play it. Honestly all videogames are meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It is an entirely unproductive hobby
The way Bethesda can take all those gameplay elements and remove the entertainment part out of all of them is simply incredible. They make games for NPCs.
I mean, I get you are being contrarian to feel cool, but pretending there is no fun to be had in Bethesda games just makes you sound sad. Maybe you prefer fighting games, or multiplayer fps, or horror games. If so, why are you in this thread about an RPG?
I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were the kind of pathetic normalgay who enjoys Bethesda's garbage.
I don't believe you. I think you definitely realized I was better than you from the outset.
>Or is hundreds of hours of content not good enough for you?
Oh yeah, I love bloated games, I love filling checklists, I love ubisoft games!
>makes claim implying there won't be enough content
>immediately claims that quality is more important than quantity
Pathetic
Ok, consoomer, what I say doesn't matter, you only want to buy the latest goyslop and that's perfectly fine
>resorts to empty buzzwords when exposed
lmao
Yes, just buzzwords, that doesn't describe you at all.
Please point out the buzzword. I'd love to see it
content
Content isn't a buzzword. It's a noun that communicates a meaningful concept in a general way. There is no comparable word to replace it with to impart the same idea. Would you prefer "things to do"? "Quests" is more descriptive but does not encompass the totality of activities available to entertain or provide fulfillment in the game.
In order for a word to be a buzzword it would need to be used for something other than imparting an idea that other words could not convey.
>Set up mini resource gathering outposts on lifeless planets
>Have your minions ship all the resources to your main base on Kino planet
What's the problem?
I'm a little doubtful you will be able to send others to collect resources and you will have to do it yourself manually, hope i'm wrong though
Post reply for you guys who are confused.
>morons are crying because space isn’t filled with heckin’ wild aliens even though the probability of life in space is slim
wasn't the main defense of this game the lack of realism? Which is why fuel will never run out and warp jump space travel exists and psychic powers?
are you moronic?
You clearly are.
no
>Which is why fuel will never run out and warp jump space travel exists and psychic powers?
No, from the beginning they were trying to go for less fantasy and more realism. The fuel not running out came from playtesters just getting bored and playing on their phones while waiting for the game to farm enough fuel.
At first running out of fuel would trigger random encounters where people could come to try and save you, or just kill and steal your ship. But in reality most players would just reload the game, or they would stop to farm fuel in some planet and just start playing on their phone while waiting for the game to finish.
The reality is that most people don't enjoy getting their game forcibly halted while they are trying to complete an interesting quest.
They should add a hard-core mode where fuel food etc are back. Like NV
Mods. Its always mods. God damnit, Todd.
Lol does starfield have their own barry? This amount of shitposting is moronic.
In my experience, there are only two developers that have truly captured what a grand open world adventure should feel like. A game where you're free to do as you please and the possibilities are endless. And those two developers are Bethesda and Nintendo. So I can understand why Snoys are upset.
>Nintendo
You're completely wasting your time with video games as a hobby if you can't at least appreciate Nintendo's penchant for game design.
Always funny when xbots group in Nintendo like they’re a team because otherwise they’d have no good games to talk about
I don't even own an Xbox, I'm just a big fan of Nintendo and Bethesda. Microsoft gives Bethesda additional resources so I guess I like Microsoft.
Don't like microsoft. out of all the company's you can or should like, microsoft isn't one of them. go for EA or obsidian
>go for EA or obsidian
>EA
A company that meddles with its games so much that it destroys them and has the worse work environment.
>Obsidian
A developer that consistently releases bug filled titles
>A developer that consistently releases bug filled titles
As opposed to Bethesda
Alpha Protocol is broken to this day dude at least Bethesda actually fixes their games after release
Skyrim Anniversary still has major bugs from 10 years ago and the PS3 versions of their games were never fixed.
>Skyrim Anniversary still has major bugs from 10 years ago
such as?
>and the PS3 versions of their games were never fixed.
frick sony
>That developer consistently releases bug filled titles
>Bethesda does too
>UHHHHHHH Those don't count frick snoy!!!
Cope.
>can't provide any example of game breaking bugs
kys tard
The ps3 version literally deletes your save if you do quests in a particular order, the quick menu kills your fps if you have things favorited. And once your save file gets over 5mb your fps permanently tanks and cannot be fixed. Cope harder moron
T. Played the ps3 version
skyrim literally ran on toasters back then, you had to be clinically moronic to play it on a console really.
>you see I am so.ply superior to you because my vibeo gaems are have more pixels uh huh uh huh
Console, PC, I honestly don't care. As long as i never end up like you
>PS3
I found your problem
NOOOO TODD STILL GOOD, JUST CONSOLES SUCK,YEAH THAT'S THE PROBLEM
Literally yes, and this applies to any game.
and then you wonder why nobody likes todd except you, which you prefer the dog ass licking day and night.
>and this applies to any game.
How many non-bethesda games deleted their saves on their own?
No, just PS3. Why buy a shit console?
Ps3 outsold 360. What a moronic question
>outsold
lol. And? Skyrim outsold all other RPGs. What are you saying?
>other RPGs.
Not an rpg.
Literally the most RPG of them all
>such as?
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/14ccom5/bugfixes_masterlist
>such as?
try plying it on a HFR monitor for a laugh, you'll instantly die during the opening sequence
Alpha protocol isn't broken.
Why? They seem chill. They gave Tim Schafer the money to add bossfights in Psychonauts 2. They let Josh Sawyer make his passion side project. Pretty much every developer under them speaks graciously of their partnership with Microsoft.
Heads I win, Tails you lose.
I don't even own an Xbox. I am literally going to buy the game on Steam for the mods. I just think the game looks really good and I'm excited to play it.
>random loot boxes and collectibles scattered out
>Bethesda games
Which ones?
Every single one since Oblivion
Okay, where are the random loot boxes and collectibles in Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4?
I don't know what to tell you, man. If Sony bought Bethesda, I would have bought a PS5. But I'm glad I get to play Starfield on PC.
>If Sony bought Bethesda, I would have bought a PS5.
That's genuinely sad.
What's sad is not being able to come up with $500 to support a hobby you enjoy.
>support the hobby
Embarrassing.
You're literally on a video game forum right now.
This is a singaporean pearl diving forum and you're not paying to post here.
>Okay, where are the random loot boxes and collectibles in Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4?
you understand the dungeons were all full of randomized leveled loot chests, right?
Yeah, plenty of games use randomized procedural mechanics. One of my favorite games of all time, Civilization, is infinitely replayable because a new map is generated every game.
>where are the random loot boxes and collectibles in Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4
Good for you.
>Why? They seem chill. They gave Tim Schafer money
lmao
>Microsoft gives Bethesda additional resources
Just like they gave Arkane and 343 additional resources
>Bethesda and Nintendo
I enjoy TES but it has never once felt like a grand, open world adventure. More like a small reserve where everyone has been told I'm the big dick.
And current Zelda is a fricking mistake
So what OP? Starflight was a kino game and most of its planets were gas giants and lava worlds. The plot was revealed through aliens you met between planets, and through ruins on planets which the Gazurtoid and Uhlek had nuked already.
The lore led you to the planets which were worth something. Otherwise you could go mining for resources to fix your ship or sell back on Arth.
Sorry that not every planet in the game has a bathhouse and a gloryhole, maybe you should be less of an idiot and the gay bars will let you back in
>moronic journo thinks 100 planets being habitable is something that should be preceded with "only"
>TESIV only had 63 Oblivion gates total
>those were small, repetitive, and filled with the same 10 or so enemies
>these will be massive, uniquely generated, and have their own individual flora and fauna to catalog
Some people just deserve to be throttled for their stupidity.
I'm also excited for mod possibilities, though. Especially simple stuff like adding running out of gas back in. I want to bait pirates to my ship with an SOS signal and then slaughter their crews in the black.
that's probably a higher percentage than in real life. did you not want a space game?
You have been making this thread literally all day long
He’s just trying too hard to be funny. Maybe people will have a laugh this time around.
Jannies really need to fix the spam on this board. It’s embarrassing
I hate the No Man's Sky-tier wacky alien animals anyways
I wish zero planets had them
Whats with all these threads today? Yesterday it was shitting on FF16 now its Starfield.
Are these shitposters on a rotation or something?
>Yesterday it was shitting on FF16
That hasn't stopped
>Are these shitposters on a rotation or something?
Is there any other description of an international messageboard?
just remove the 900 planet bloatware
That's only realistic.
have fun exploring barren planets with nothing to do on them
they will LOVE to take your $70+ for that
>$70
It’s going to be on Gamepass, moron.
They're increasing the price of gamepass before Starfield comes out
By what, $2? Cool.
Per month. $70 gets you the game forever.
i already did the 3 years for $100 trick a few months ago
sucks to be you i guess
https://www.cdkeys.com/starfield-pc-steam
I already pre-ordered the $100 edition
stay mad
>have fun exploring barren planets with nothing to do on them
I will, thanks
Wait till you hear how much real space travel costs and what you find out there...
>1000 planets
>only 100 have life
900 will be dedicated to having some massive harem and every fetish imaginable.
like Todd's intended
https://files.catbox.moe/9ivqck.png
every modder/modding group will pick a planet to make their own
Poor Man's Sky
10%= 100 planets , genius.
900 planets to strip mine?
I'm GONNA COOOOOM!!!
I also preordered a copy of Starfield for my wife and her boyfriend
Honestly I would have preferred one really good and biologically/geologically diverse planet tbh.
Dude honestly hate fun and don't even seem to understand why people love playing games.
cope
>Todd literally hated Morrowind
He still says Morrowind is his best game
The moment they revealed that Starfield was going to be a wide open universe, I commented to a friend of mine that there would be '10,000 hours of content, and 4 hours of content', and I stand by that. There's going to be tons and tons of planets to explore with essentially fricking nothing to do. Probably random loot boxes and collectibles scattered out and absolutely nothing of any real importance. Essentially the same amount of content as Fallout 4, but spread out over a thousand times as much map for absolutely no fricking reason.
>random loot boxes and collectibles scattered about
You sound like someone who has only played bad open world games.
Sounds like he's played a lot of Bethesda games
Another generation of morons getting duped by Bethesda again. Can't wait for all the negative video essays once it comes out
>what were getting
>a realistic space exploration game that will inspire astronauts of the future
>what Ganker wanted
>rick and morty in space
>astronauts of the future
homie, you all jerk off to cartoons, the frick you are talking about, gamers are the lowest chian in the food chain, and talking about food chain, forget about space and start flipping some burgers son
Also realistic is not fun you moronic frick, if real life is so fun then why play videgames at all, you dick muncher
>he WANTS rick and morty in space
embarrassing
Calling something Rick and Morty in space is redundant cause the show already takes place in space.
>he WANTS rick and morty
embarrassing
Bethesda games are pretty rick and morty tbh
you never played a bethesda game
I'd take a picture of my copy of Rick and Morrowind but I have nothing to prove to a loser like you. Bethesda is Rick and Morty Core.
>called out and immediately shrinks back with a flaccid response
lol
>cause the show already takes place in space.
every game takes place in space
that's way too many considering how many we've discovered without any extraterrestrial life on them
We already know 95% of them are going to be forgettable proceduralslop
You got baited by Todd
Wait, there's aliens in this game? I'm surprised to hear there's any at all, I except a world populated only by like 2 human cities and endless raider settlements.
so 100/1000 planets have life, and 900/1000 are for mining.
why is this a bad thing? the universe is almost completely lifeless anyways.
It's a video game
My kind of videogame, yes
>Actually feels like you're discovering new planets instead of NMS where there's outposts on every planet and a space station above it
I'm going to fill a planet with life, using my space babes as breeding cows
>the predictions came true
>shilling your shitty youtube channel
frick off
>90% of the game is shit
It's over.
In mass effect it was even less
Mass Effect had more going for it.
Shitfield is literally selling itself on "exploration".
Hey guys, I just want to let you know that The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard is available now for purchase on gog.com
>90% of the game is empty.
Toddbros I don't feel good.
>Todd says shipbuilding and settlement building are late game mechanics
Meaning there has to be a ton of questing content to support a playthrough until then.
Cope shill. Todd literally said there's "Go there collect 10 bear asses" quests in Shitfield.
What are you sperging about?
That anon didn't claim it was all high quality, creative quest content.
Also Todd admitting Starfield has some typical generic quests in no way implies there aren't plenty of good quests to enjoy as you level up.
Aren't you doomposter supposed to shit up XVI and Armored Core 6 first? Go away
I'm a FF gay but I'm getting starfield on PC day one, can we call an alliance
>YOU DON'T NEED A GOOD GAME
>YOU DON'T NEED GOOD SPACE EXPLORATION
>YOU DONT NEED FUEL TO EXPLORE
>YOU DONT NEED PLAYABLE ALIENS AND NPCS
>YOU DONT NEED MODS
>YOU DONT NEED MORE PLANETS
>YOU DONT NEED BUSTLING PLANET WITH SENTIENT LIFE
Wow another goyslop flop
Out of curiosity, how many flight space games actually use fuel and let you get stranded?
Starfield
More like starflop lmfao
100 planets with life on them is still very ambitious and I doubt they'll be able to create the biodiversity needed to make each planet totally unique. Still better than having every other planet populated by a handful of procedurally generated penis monsters that don't make sense at all like NMS.
So 100 planets do? Kino as frick
So how big are the planets actually? This “1,000 planets” thing is meaningless until the actual square miles are known.
You know you can walk around right?
>pretending Outer Worlds will be even close to Starfield in quality
Oh, you're just trolling. Carry on
It wraps aorund, so imagine in Fallout or whatever if you walk to the far right instead of not being able to go any further you reappear on the left
>Even minesweeper did this.
what kind of version of minesweeper did you have? mine was just a regular 2d grid with no wrapping
Can I just chain 50 landing sites together to "create" a ring of cells/worldspaces connecting around the planet?
forgot pic
knowing bethesda, im certain it will be exactly like daggerfall's procedural generation
This is why there's no vehicles. Planets are way too big to just walk between different landing zones, anon 😉
How i imagine it's going to work;
>planet is divided into roughly equal tiles/world-spaces
>when you choose a location and land, the closest tile generates a (large) area based on the coords of the tile
>you can't travel between these large tiles
>points of interest are placed based on the tile's properties etc
>in order to travel to another, you have to open the map and land via your ship
honestly it's kinda understandable, having a fully seamless planet is just a pain in the ass (and can destroy performance in some cases)
this is sort of a system i've been using for my own game, in most situations it's not that noticeable for most players
but the main reason is that it's just so much easier to work with, and allows us to actually generate roads, rivers and erosion - which is EXTREMELY difficult to do in a seamless procedural way, games like Minecraft just fake these terrain features
Gotcha, so if I simply choose another landing site close by I'd still land on the same tile with the same generated or placed features.
So I guess either generated features (large rifts or ridges), gameplay mechanics (radiation, heat, cold, weather) or invisible walls will prevent traversing the tile border?
honestly I'm just pissed at not dogfighting in a canyon or having a super secret outpost built in a crater that takes tight maneuvering to land in.
>in order to travel to another, you have to open the map and land via your ship
these games have been loading tiles around you seamlessly as you walk, why would they revert that now
I'm assuming each tile would be extremely big, like around the size of the entire Fallout 4 map, it's still going to be divided up into cells in order to load.
One of Bethesda's shticks is not re-inventing the wheel to do something (train head NPC for example), a tile-based solution is magnitudes simpler to implement into CE2.
>bethesda too dumb and lazy to do rovers
>somehow not dumb and lazy enough to implement a full seamless planet
you gotta be consistent anon
>Having high expectations for a T*dd H*ward game
You brought this on yourself.
pre-ordered already, looking forward to probably the best game ever made
10 percent is good, that's 100 planets and an absolutely amazing feat
seethe snoys, ff 16 bombed lul
>90% of the game is shit, that's good
10 units of good is better than 1 unit of good anon. Do you not understand basic math?
You're fricking moronic. Go eat shit just because it has sugar sprinkled on it.
You aren't very smart are ya lad? You are saying that a full game is shit because it has a ton of extra superfluous content. If you don't want to engage with the 900 lifeless planets that is your prerogative, but you still have a full RPG longer than most others available in the game.
If the game were to launch with 100 planets with life on them and thats it none of these morons would be here, they would be spending their night wiping there infected neo vags with alcohol wipes because no gynecologist will deal with the smell
Your post didn't have a clearly identifiable point. What are you trying to say?
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you think even 10 planets with things to do is quite enough game. So I have to guess you think that the actual RPG quests and storyline aren't going to be good, but instead of saying that you are sperging about side content in hopes other smoothbrains will heed your poor logic?
*sniff P U you really need to see a doctor about that vag, i thinks its necrotic
Sad
>a ton of extra superfluous content
It's shit content. 90% of the game is shit. Planets there solely to shoot rocks. That isn't even content. It's slop.
But the 10% is 120% the size of a regular game. Also when they say no life, it means no space dinosaurs wandering around, but there may still be human outposts.
>But the 10% is 120% the size of a regular game
Holy frick what kind of a mutt logic is this? It's a randomly generated planet with random generated dungeon or two. It's literally all dogshit "content" for subhumans. Worse than Ubishit formula.
No I mean the actual game, the part that is "story" and missions like you would get in skyrim or fallout, that is bigger than any of the previous games. Just dont go to any of the empty planets if you dont want, and still the gaem is bigger than any other.
It's a troll my guy
>that is bigger than any of the previous games
Bigger in what sense? It has more barren terrain and contentless deserts? Sure.
Bigger in carefully curated environmental storytelling? No.
>J-JUST DON'T PLAY 90% OF THE GAME
Nice. Good job Black folk. Reading from the same spreadsheet.
Bigger in the sense of how my dick is bigger than your moms mouth, but she still gives it a good go.
Black persondog look
Yeah I'm raging right now at the thought of fricking your moms mouth rather than engaging your moronness seriously
Come on Black persondog look
I can't look I too busy fricking your moms mouth and vagene
your mom farts with each thrust of my huge erect penis
me and
are going to raw dog your mother ass and then play pure un adulterated space kino cum sept 6. Maybe the watch will have a step counter to keep track of the amount of thrusts into your mother fat ass
What is your purpose? Do you enjoy coming here to spout inane nonsense? I understand it's probably related to some mental instability, but there HAS to be a better outlet to fulfill your degenerate mental deficiencies.
>goes off rails
Take your meds or have a nice day.
Ironic. I know for a fact that you are prescribed medication and contemplate suicide. You know this as well, and it is very likely a crippling source of insecurity. You are here to get a rise from people because it makes you feel like you have some impact on the world around you, regardless of how completely hollow and trivial that impact is. You should seriously seek help
>wall of projection
Oh yeah, you're mentally ill. Blow your brains out senpai.
troony confirmed.
wrap it up and get out of here
>more projection
Dilate and die.
Just dial 988
>Bigger in carefully curated environmental storytelling?
Yes
how about i shot a gallon of slop down your throat. You'll lap it all up and beg for more just like your hog of a mother
Jeetsoft shill getting angry lol
Come on Black person, shill harder
just shot a new batch of slop in the troth get out here before your mother gets to it first.
Again, your inability to comprehend basic concepts is astounding. The game isn't forcing you to visit 1000 planets, so even if you think 900 planets are "shit" it is not 90% of the game. By that logic 90% of most games are shit because the space between actual activities is "shit" but very few genres place their action points an inch away from eachother.
>you don't HAVE to play 90% of the game
>90% of all games are shit anyway goy!
Wow holy frick you should be fired.
You're suggesting every blade of grass in RPGs need to be built to fully engage you because it is part of the game and thus needs to be fully entertaining.
Your argument is clearly farcical to the point of being cringeworthy.
it's on gamepass day one, why are you homosexuals even complaining?
it's practically free
Consolebabbies mad that they got 30 fps cap
Only autists are genuinely upset about a 30 fps cap.
no fricking way he looks that good
utterly caked in makeup or an old pic one of the two
still 100 planets, and the other planets will have content on them too. Keep seething sony soys maybe 5 years from now you can pick up a xbox series x cheap if you can drag your butthole of your boyfriends penis
i mean if there are over 1000 planets, 100 of them having life is fine, assuming we are not being lied on
That's a little bit too many to be realistic. Maybe mods will fix that and lower the number further.
>only 100 of the 1000 planets will have life
SNOYGGERS WE WON
It's probably that way because you can build your base. So you can go check out lifeless empty planets that are however procgenned until you find one you like then start a base on it.
I'm not saying the system is good but reasonably that is why
Yeah the idea is clearly to put canvas planets all over so you can pick to do your base whereever
actual sole reasonable explanation but Ganker will continue screeching about how
>BUT IT'S SO LIFELESS
I guess if this is the biggest criticism people bother to talk about the games gonna sell like 20mil units, on gamepass.
I mean a certain game had life on pretty much all planets and it still fricking sucks to this day. Dunno if that is a requirement to make the game good, as long as the stuff you can do on said planets is engaging.
Hell, Elite has no life and is more fun.
The coolest planet I visited in NMS had no life on it at all, just really cool crystal megastructures. I built a little base there and uninstalled the game.
Game of the year incoming. I love how morons on here are acting like goldilocks planets are super common in our solar system much less our universe
goty
Did morons really think they could possibly have 1000 earth-like, content filled planets or that it wouldn't be weird if there wasn't more pretty mineral balls, gas giants, etc, than planets with life?
People acting upset over this just proves how moronic they are. So often it feels like people are just actively looking for anything to complain about or make shitty click bait over, these days.
Leave to the WEF to say shit like that
cant wait until they say "if you are not working for FREE, then YOU are the problem"
>you will die and you won't be happy
no problem
900 mining colonies and 100 sex colonies
based todd
you'd have to be an absolute moron to buy this game
just like real life. todd has done it again
Why are israelites and snoys throwing so much bad media against Bethesda this time around?
How many bogeymen are raping your monkey brain these days anon?
how long did it take you to make this shit israelite?
How long did it take Todd to add troony pronouns and Body type A/B to this game?
Ah yes, bethesda is known not to be israeli
Hope you can land on the sun with unique death animation.
Hell, land on a planet close to the sun like in riddick's prison planet.
Maybe have a riddick conditional death creatures overrun planet too.
>goes on for years saying its not going to be skyrim in space
>its skyrim in space
lol lmao
Who are you quoting?
Also it's not Skyrim in space. It's fallout in space like everyone knew it was going to be. Who thought it wasn't a space bethsoft game?
it's daggerfall in space you morons
kino is back on the menu
>it's daggerfall in space you morons
daggerfall is the worst game bethesda has ever made
>Also it's not Skyrim in space. It's fallout in space
Bethesda's "fallout" is oblivion in space and skyrim is lolblibion 2. So it is oblibion in space.
The world is going to be as dead as the new Zelda games, bros I thought Todd was going to save us.
do you think there will be full scale planets or will it be just 2x2km maps
The latter. It's a bethesda game, it's gamebryo, they still work with cells and shit.
At most, and thats if you're lucky, the 2x2km map will loop. If they can figure that out. Maybe they'll jsut make it procedurally generate empty cells to simulate the vastness of the planet or whatever
The other 90% are Dwemer Ruins
Ganker doesn't know what it wants. If 90-100% of the planets had life you'd be criticising it for being unrealistic.
Ganker wants a realistic yet unrealistic game, literally a square circle.
>Ganker doesn't know what it wants
I didn't want this game at all lol, no one who actually posts on Ganker would want a bethesda game
>literally admitting you post on Ganker just to cry about bethesda
mentally ill.
Bethesda should not be here at all and you guys rapid fire threads until its impossible to ignore. If you spam threads about your game rather than just make them once in awhile like a reasonable person that is a free invitation for me to come shit on it. All day its constant low quality bait threads, one after another.
>All day its constant low quality bait threads, one after another.
so morons make threads to shit on bethesda and to get back at them, you post in the threads to shit on bethesda. again, mentally ill. its really easy for me to just not click on threads i dont care about.
>so morons make threads to shit on bethesda and to get back at them
its funny you believe those threads are genuine. no one is making threads about games they don't like. its all spam.
>its really easy for me to just not click on threads i dont care about.
when the first 20 threads in the catalogue are all for the same company it really isn't. and i know its not a bunch of people because the same glue eating underage moron makes the same exact threads for the same exact games altogether every day. this thread doesn't even have starfield in the title, so it is evading filters. things dont go away if you ignore them. the person making these threads needs to be permanently banned. forever.
>mentally ill and an aspiring janny
i hope your application goes through
>no one is making threads about games they don't like. its all spam.
you got proof for that? or is it just another one of your mental illness episodes?
You made the thread weirdo
anime homosexual
So close your fricking eyes bro
Your tears serve as my nourishment, bethdrone.
Literally no one is phased by your spergfest. It ranges from mild annoyance to comically pathetic. I guess some of it is a bit sad and pitiful, which does engender some upset feeling in the more compassionate.
>Literally no one is phased by your spergfest
Clearly 🙂
>Your tears-
Say hello to reddit for me!
You guys are fitting in so hard right now!
>Ganker doesn't know what it wants
I want bethesda to die.
10% of a 1000 planets. Do you know how much that is? 99% of players won't explore even 5% of those 10% planets.
Also if you play on PC, which you should, there will definitely be a mod that adds life to every planet or whatever.
Isn't 10% incredibly generous considering that space is pretty empty regarding life?
im still pissed that a large gamedev team couldnt figure out seamless travel to planets when NMS exists
Trust the Todd he will deliver
its already confirmed there will be automated landing and takeoff which essentially act as loading screens, and confirmed that land and space are two separate realities
im still gonna play it but i am disappoint
So it’s basically Kingdom Hearts?
Do we even know how big each planet is going to be, 10% of something we don't know how big doesn't really tell me anything
Exploring a hundred planet seems tedious already, I hope the core gameplay is good enough to make you want to explore and find shit, I don't want to be bored big the time I land on the 4th samey planet, I don't care if it as "life" space dinos on it or not, what's the gameplay like
>bethesda makes a worse version of nms
>people will willingly buy it instead of playing nms
if you have xbox game pass just fricking play nms instead of starfield. kys toddbros
NMS is a survival game
Starfield will be a rpg
>less content than Skyrim
AHAHAHAGAHAGAHVCJBV
This is classic Bethesda apologists. Howard lies. morons fun and defend every lie and failed delivery. It’s a buggy mess and they just screech “mods will fix it!!!”
>Todd comes up on stage
>Ganker wets their pants in memetic orgasm as he promises them the world
>lies and exxagerates like he has for EVERY modern Bethesda game they made
>Ganker believes everything because le epic Todd can do no wrong
>contrarianism and denial all the way until the game releases
>one week after release everyone will shitpost how barren the game is, or how shallow the combat or RPG elements are, while others will just say "idk it's fun" or "mods will fix it"
Repeat until Todd dies of old age.
Silly anon, you are supposed to repopulate that 90%of planets with porn mods.
Every thread until you stop doing these.
Goyslop
snoys SNEETHING
Life doesn't mean there won't be content on the barren planets for you to explore.
One barren planet on the video for example showed a potential crew mate at a mining outpost you can pick up. Also, Mars would count as a barren planet and we saw some content for that planet.
so which is it todd whisperers? more or less than 10%?
Do people somehow not realize that "no life" means no natural life, not that they will be empty without outposts and/or human NPCs?
Tick tock.
Toddgays can't meme
>mech game
>Ever winning game of the year
bwahahahaha
ahahahahaaaaaaaa
The meme was made by fromdrones.
Toddgays can't even make their own memes.
>making memes
>when you can just post Todd
Whack a Todd!
>face of Starfield is a disgusting mutt
accurate
honestly I don't like bethesda's exploration game loop. harvesting materials to build things, mix potions or enchant things isn' the fun part for me.
The fun part is messing with around with the mixed potions/enchantments/upgrades/crafted things. Having 200% movement speed, one-hit killing enemies for 24 seconds, frenzying the entire town square, poisoning an entire restaurant by placing poisoned food all over.
>only 100 planets have life on them
oh god oh jeez it's over it's so over it's never been more over than it is right now
Why are people b***hing about this? Life should be rare to find.
Mods will fix it.
>Welcome to the Planet of prostitutes #7291, where no man has ever set foot
Why his face looks so weird now?
BASED
Frick life I wanna be alone with my rock collection.
THEY'RE CALLED MINERALS!
I seriously don't know what I'm expecting here. is every landing zone a worldspace that gets some random or handcrafted dungeons placed in it? are they connected through dungeon "gates" somehow? am I simply limited by oxygen depending on how far I can move away from the ship or invisible walls galore?
planet big
land anywhere
planet is doughnut shaped if you try to cross it
the UI ball is just that, a UI and not representative of actual geometry but rather a skewed version of the real doughnut
>planet is doughnut shaped if you try to cross it
huh? sorry for being moronic but I don't understand
well that would kind of suck, but couldn't you just plop down outposts anywhere to recharge/extend your range?
Its a 2d square grid that loops around itself by only rendering adjacent tiles in simple terms, it doesn't represent a perfect circle if you measure it but it can still be represented by a ball. I think it cant be perfectly represented because of representing curvature being problematic and the actual playable area is entirely flat
What if there aren't any planets with breathable atmospheres so you're always limited by oxygen?
There'll be more when I'm done.
It has be to be like my le heckin Star Wars!
serves anyone who sucks todd's dick just about right.
>Starfield has no free travel and everything is locked behind loading screens
>Starfield has at best 100 planets which are more than just Mass Effect 2 tier scan "exploration"
>no vehicles whatsoever
>even your ship looks garbage with the trash customizations that all look like some Fallout 4 assets
>the world design and character design is basically Fallout 4
This game looks and feels like Fallout 5: Escaping into space. It doesn't look as a new franchise at all and just like the idea of "making a space game", but being too incompetent to do it, so you just copy paste your Fallout 4 assets with some minor space gimmicks and that's it.
based, still buying game looks fricking amazing
only people seething at starfield are snoys anally annihilated that this is never ever coming to their consoles
why are they black every single time?
Console warring is specific to insecure low income people who can only have one console and feel the need to "prove" that they made the right choice and everyone else is wrong. Usually that means children, but black people also overwhelmingly overlap into that category at all ages.
My running theory is that fighting games overall leaned towards Sony platform support more than Microsoft's and since blacks appear to love fighting games that means a significant amount of Snoys will be them.
jesus fricking christ what a sad autistic child
you are all just as bad as eachother, fricking children arguing about with fisher price toy makes the best bing bong yahoo noises
Todd is a poopoohead
Pretty sure the actual problem with Starfield which people should be focusing on will be how inevitably repetitive it will be and how poor the writing and some of the creative decisions will probably be. I don't like seeing so many people focusing on trivial issues like the game having no vehicles or having not enough planets with life on them.
The amount of apologists for Bethesda's writing is hilarious, as if they're going to populate the whole game with good quests when they've never been good at writing them.
At this point I trust Todd so must. It must be infuriating to try to come up with shit to hate on Starfield when everything looks so great.
In the solar system only one planet is full of morons, I hate Todd but he is making perfect sense.
wtf, it's way too much
Don't care. Already pre-ordered the $100 version. Suck my dick, Sony shill.
Boring if all are the same. Its good to have some empty too, i dont want another no mans sky
It's a Bethesda game. 100 planets, 1000 planets, all the NPCs are gonna have the same 15 lines of dialog and non-Quest Givers will all have similar models in different robes.
"Patrolling the moon makes you wish for solar flares"
bump
the one thing that scares me the most is todd saying "starfield is going to be a modders paradise, you will be able to make modding a career"
paid mods will surely work out this time.
>2023
>2025 GOTY
>2027 console upgrade
>2030 Enhanced Edition
>2033 Anniversary Edition
>2038 VR Edition
>2043 Retro Edition
Don't care. Buying every version of Starfiled on all platfors day 1. I am doing my part!
>explore millions of miles of procedurally generated rocks
>our system can make so many kinds of empty biomes
It's worse than that
>places with life don't have quests
>quests are radial
>manmade quests lack reactivity
The nicest thing I can say is they finally heard from the community, how it's silly your character's the leader of every organization, and so have 2 endstates for each guild (fighters, mages, thieves, etc.).
It's not much but it's about the only gameplay improvement I can point-out.
