So nothing new? Kojimbo invited reviewers to a camp for few days way before the release of MGS5

Yes that's how game reviews work. Publishers give review keys to reviewers they trust ahead of time. Those reviewers know not to step out of line because losing access to early copies would kill the company. And so the hype machine keeps running.

It's going to be dogshit. I don't expect anything from Bethesda anymore.

Also same with Fallout 3 and 4. Todd is just spokesman who sometimes acts like annoying middle manager who gets on others' nerves by asking lots of questions for his pointless reports and has no clue what's going on. He only cares about fat check and looking good on stage at the moment.

Todd is the reason why werewolves are in vanilla skyrim despite not being in any of the previous games moronic homosexual
He floundered with Redguard and Morrowind but Oblivion and Skyrim wouldn't be possible without him. Just look at how many developers burned themselves to the ground trying to copy oblivion and even today turds like BG3 don't even have a day and night cycle despite having 4 times the development team of skyrim

        Anonymous

I don't know about Fallout 4 but he had every reason to be confident about Fallout 3 given that it was a critical and commercial success :^)
        Cue seething obsidrones

          Anonymous

It was commercial "success" because of hype and advertising surrounding it. Other than that FO3 is garbage and insult to the IP. In the end it only worked out because of Morrowind's and Oblivion's reputation, you streetshitter.

Todd was never confident about 76 but had to put on a brave face for investors. His team created the landmass, then handed it off to a sub studio. When they got closer to launch they realized how fricked it was so the main team had to put starfield on hold and bail the lesser studio out with massive fixes, which didn't plug enough holes before launch.

At E3, he was clearly struggling to hype up the game or promote it's features.

          >Todd was never confident about 76 but had to put on a brave face for investors
Nobody was because everybody knew it's going to be a garbage. Before shitloads of updates the game itself was nothing more than another soulless FO4 multiplayer mod with official brand release.
          >When they got closer to launch they realized how fricked it was so the main team had to put starfield on hold and bail the lesser studio out with massive fixes, which didn't plug enough holes before launch.
Except it never happened. They made FO76 in less than a year as side gig, and it's trash.
          >At E3, he was clearly struggling to hype up the game or promote it's features.
He's always like that at E3 and he always hides like a coward if shit blows up.

Thing is we've seen a good look at what the game is going to be like in terms of the gameplay. FO76 with Ninja and Roiland was clearly shitty, and this is clearly not shitty. Story-wise remains to be seen but it will be interesting enough to keep things moving.

screencap this prediction and see how it comes true to the letter:
    >reviewers get the codes
    >early reviews come out praising the game to high heaven
    >curiously, there’s little actually said whether something is really revolutionary
    >all “genre-defining” features are just stuff that existed already in all modern bethesda games
    >all the praise will just be “it’s really good” rephrased 120935 times
    >almost nothing but surface level descriptions will be said about exploring planets
    >the vast majority of each review will be about time spent in human settlements (10% of the actual game)
    >the reviews will be written in a way that actually doesn’t let you figure out how certain mechanics actually work
    >every review will mention how absolutely mind-frickingly good skyrim was (it wasn’t)

yup, they will hype this shit up to no end because starfield shills will click on their shitty fricking article if only to screencap it and post it on Ganker
things like “I knew the game was great when I pressed and held the RT (LMB2 for you PCMR lot) on Evil-Space-Pirate #13083404!!!! WHILE FLYING A JETPACK!!!!!111!!!”

        >journos are vague and moronic
        woah brave prediction there

yeah, but vague and moronic in a way that obviously implies they had nothing to work with within the game. as in, there’s nothing to praise or really like about the gameplay, graphics, story or even the setting. we know journos are basically a means of advertising nowadays (with the exception of some editorial 20 years after the game’s release), and they know how to promote good games. if the game’s like starfield though…
