It's not like there aren't also really good Holy Faith Weapons. The bubble sticks, Ordivis's Greatsword and Siluria's Tree are all really strong and arguably as good as BB. Halo Scythe and Winged Scythe are also pretty decent.
Siluria's Tree is honestly fricking based. The ash of war gives me a power trip greater than most incantation.
It's not that the Holy Weapons are bad, moreso that the entire end game has huge Holy resistance. You get locked into using Scared Fire as a sub, and Blasphemous is just too good.
I tried various different Ashes on basic weapons for the end game once I realized my main weapons (Inseparable and Winged Scythe) were going to put me at a massive disadvantage, but just settled on Blasphemous because it's so similar to Inseparable.
I know that, but all the weapons I listed can overcome it (Ordivis and Siluria via mixed damage, Bubble arts by being fricking broken) in some way.
Oh yeah. I forgot they buffed all those. My first playthrough, they were still really bad. Might try out the holy spear for dlc run.
I used it for a run, it's a lot of fun. Just remember to go mostly Str because the weapon art scales to total AR and standard damage is more reliable. Just get enough Faith in for Golden Vow.
I wish there was a few more EARLY GAME faith weapons that were good, and that, as others have said, holy resistances didn't get increasingly common as the game goes on. Id also be happy if there were more fire faith weapons like Blasphemous blade. Like the weapon art is murder incarnate, which is great, but fire is good for 95% of fights in the game, if not more so even without the weapon art itd be a standy option for every faith build.
The best faith weapon is the Envoy Longhorn.
Dual wielding two of them to spam jump L1s and using the L2 against giant enemies rapes the entire game.
Even the Elden Beast gets stunlocked to death by the bubbles despite the 80% holy res.
The Blasphemous Blade is pretty good though, but I don't like to use it for coop due to how expensive the ash is, I could just cast an AOE full heal with the cost of a single Takers Flame.
Longhorn causes mental damage to both you and the enemy. Pretty based honestly, but if someone didn't like it for flavour reasons,.I would understand

It helps that From games tend to be very cynical. Sekrio in particular has a final boss sequence that's just bitter. Genichiro gets the second mortal blade and still gets his ass kicked, but has such a love for his home and a dedication to his duty that he kills himself to bring back the only man he knows who could possibly save Ashina. And then Isshin looks at his dead grandson and says, "What a gay, lmao" and fights you just cause he thinks it'll be fun, clearly not giving a damn about weak men who couldn't save themselves.

I did crumble at malenia THOUGH and used the mimic with devourer and heal spells to not only solo the boss for me but also heal me while doing so

I beat the game...using a bow build. You have no idea how much suffering I went through. Or how many arrows I lost to sidestepping enemies or even walking to the side just a little bit from enemy AI. And with only a max of 99 arrows per slot per bonefire reset.

I did craft arrows. But if you want decent range since every boss and enemy has a way of creating distance and moving fast to boot, you HAVE to farm bird feathers. And you don't get anything replenished, so for two hours of farming, you get enough arrows for about 150+ at most. Then you have to farm again. And no, you cant craft them during a boss fight while bosses are moving around. And arrows have some of the worst scaling in the game (aka literally none) so you do so little damage and you run out of 99 of them in one fight.
The only worthwhile arrows are blood arrow, but omg, are they fricking enough to farm the materials for. Again...bird feathers, bones of animals, and rare fricking blood roses. Bow build is some of the shittiest way to play ever and you can tell Fromsoft hates us. And dont get me started on how much stamina is drained using the bow roll and jump roll manuevers to try to have some decent mobility cause god forbid bow users get anything out of this miserable existence.
And dont get me started on the soul deficit you have to run to even buy normal arrows from the merchant for convenience of not having to farm for arrow mats. So I was always too poor to level fast enough. Truly fricking miserable of a time.

The only thing worth while is the Barrage skill to rapidly apply damage, stagger, and an element (like with blood arrow). Mighty shot just ups the damage on a single shot, but its such a disadvantage cause it leaves you open for a moment and you uses so much fricking stamina. Bow builds are literally gimped.

Moderately demanding stat requirements and also it's a dex faith weapon, with emphasis on the former. It's an extremely powerful weapon if you build for it, but if you do, you're not building for much else. Personally if I want to do frenzy shit I just go full faith and then use a flame art weapon, just because I like using lots of spells over stabbing everything in the dick until it dies.

It's a reasonable train of thought, but honestly I'd rather use defensive talismans for PVE unless I'm doing one shot memes.
The talismans that increase defenses are strong as frick, they're only useless in PVP because their effects are heavily nerfed against other players.
In PVP I like to use Alexander's because bursting people down as fast as possible is always the best strategy.

Ordovis's frick off explosion and Siluria's big fricking laser scale off Weapon AR, not Holy AR. That means that, despite the holy aesthetic, most of their damage is the most reliable and based damage type in the game, Str based physical damage.
Same is true of that one mace you get from the final boss.
Everything has 60-to-100% Holy reduction late game, there's no reason to use any of that shit.

I actually hate that somber weapons were exempted from the system. There's so many somber weapons that have shit AoWs that would've been fixed with being able to swap them. All they would need to do would be to limit which ashes could be applied by the element the weapon already was or something. Having entire weapons, pic related, that are basically useless because of a garbage ash of war really sucked ass.

I just started a new playthrough and have been running around 1 shotting everything with bloody slash on a +5 miserecorde which I had no idea was so powerful.
Somber weapons are just better all around outside of Great and Colossals.

I have enough weapons and spells that are perfectly viable. It just fricking sucks that the ones I enjoy the most almost become unusable and there is no way to make them viable.

Is the Frenzied Flame Seal just shit? The frick is up with that scaling, it completely offsets the damage bonus it's always bad. The only "proper" use I can find if if you dual wield seals

its hard to say, historically fromsoft dlc start somewhere near the end of the game but right before the final boss, but since ER is open world I have no idea how they'll scale it. The fact that its called shadow of the erdtree makes me think it will take place after you burn it and scaled around engame, but people will be pissed if beating the game locks you out of the DLC and they have to go to ng+ so I bet you'll be able to do it from a completed save.

DS2 and Bloodborne had them pretty early. You can do all three in DS2 before the Dragonrider Duo. Of course, as we all know, Elden Ring IS DS2 2, so expect the DLC to be placed at the Moangrave or something (ironically enough this is an asset from ringed city)

That may be technically true but as far as I recall you wanted to be a rather high level to get through those insufferable areas in the DS2 dlc's.
Yeah they were still scaled to endgame, same for Bloodborne's. The first boss in Bloodborne's DLC has more HP than any of the final bosses in that game. This is a good thing I think, you can get the DLC stuff earlier on if you've got the skillz.

I'd say it'd be right by the Elden Throne but since that gets locked out multiple times maybe it'll be by the Bedchamber site of grace. Haligtree and Mohg's palace are definitely better thematic choices but as other anons have pointed out they're a bit too hidden, even if that would be Miyazaki's intention I think the powers that be will demand it get moved to a more mid-game, accessible spot for the normies.

What are you talking about Black person, you teleport there from the first ruin in the game and get teleported to a dungeon that you can't immediately warp out of. People are naturally going to explore a new high level area to see if they can get some good early loot.
Unless you have the sense to explore and dive into poisonous lakes for chests the first thing people are going to do when you get out of the cave and see a plague filled shithole is to teleport the frick out of there.

What did you do the first time?
I started as DEX/FTH but eventually changed to DEX/ARC and used Eleanora twinblade with some dragon breaths.
You can try STR/FAI, STR/DEX quality, or INT/DEX. You could also do straight INT, but you might find that too boring, or INT/FAI, but that build takes half the game before it becomes viable and fun. So you've got options.
STR is the most fun imo
Go STR/INT just for the ruins greatsword and the Fallingstar Beast Jaw.

The nerfed guard in general apparently, as well as the guard talisman. Also seems to be complete shit in PVP now but could be that people have been playing long enough to know how to counter it easily by this point.
I loved stacking high robustness and letting rivers of blood goobers beat on me and then wonder why they weren't getting bleed procs, or infusing with magic and just walking straight at gay little mages.

Whats a decent str faith weapon? I currently just stepped into the atlus platue. I have 50 str and about 20 faith but ive just been using a heavy great mace and some incantations for support/range/lightning buff

Siluria's Tree is good, has a pretty sweet ash of war as well. Last run I did Blasphemous Blade in one hand and Gargoyle's Black Blade in the other hand, jump attack spammed everything down. It was overpowered as shit, especially with the right talismans and that crow chest armor which boosts jump attacks.
Better question is which Ashes of War do you want to use, because STR/FAI gives you a couple of really good ones. Power stancing is also great with high STR, so combine the two.
go pick up the Troll's Golden Sword from one of the carriages roaming Altus, you can get the Tree Sentinel armor set (from Auriza Hero's Grave by doing a puzzle to get rid of the chariots) and cosplay as a golden Paladin

You just can't use the top of the pyramid, so no troonveil, no blasphemous dildo, and no rivers of period blood. The rest should be fine.
STR/INT or STR/FAI?
Both are good and have fun weapon options. I personally enjoy STR/FAI more since the faith buff spells are really strong, and there's a good variety of weapons to choose from.
There’s a catalyst that scales with both str and fth, don’t know if there is an int equivalent of that.
Faith has something for every situation at virtually every phase of the game, with the number of memory slots you have by endgame there's no reason not to dip into it even a little bit unless you want to try a specific weapon out because Str/Int weapons can have some pretty ridiculous stat demands.
STR/FAI for the utility and flexibility, STR/INT if you just want to glass cannon and delete everything.

Katanas are just really good with int/dex, especially Uchi with different ashes of war. I think some rapiers and spears are good though, and you could power stance some curved swords like wing of astel
Wing of Astel is quite good and pretty fun to use, has a sweet R2 attack which shoots out a beam, and a nifty ash of war that does a ton of stagger damage. If you can dual wield it with another wing of astel, it's even better (very fun moveset when dual wielding).

Potlord, Fist only martial artist, you can go spellcaster but limit yourself to sorceries/incants of the same type (Dragoncult, Frenzy, Gravity only, etc.).
One of my best builds was a bard, it was dooting, using the harp bow (which you'd never use otherwise) with shattershard arrows, the wraith calling bell, and maybe a shouting ash of war.
