>place is clearly rumbling down and going to explode any second >as soon as lara has slided down to Atlantean Stronghold the rumbling stops >when lara quietly swims away from the hive suddenly everything goes kaboom
good timing
that, and the developers figured players don't actually want to do precision jumping and dodging in the trap gauntlet with the screen constantly shaking.
Little surprise you think everything revolves around the same 5 websites in your centralized nu-Internet, zoomie.
Back in the day you just grabbed the bonus levels off the official TR website. And for consolegays it was just sold as a separate CD bundled with TR1 as "TR1 Gold". Why do you think fan-made projects like TR2Main allow you to just download and/or install UB and GM alongside them but not the base games you have to pay money for, you moron?

>Play TR1 >Lara doesn't say "Ah hah!"
No sense in playing anymore.
The Colosseum one where you had to "touch" a pillar or something to open a door that makes no noise and closes very fast was fricking moronic. Everything else so far has been fair.
you have to step on a pressure plate. it's a secret, the door does make noise (turn up your volume) and you can get there incredibly easily with side/backflips. get good.
?si=DCrQns5BC5S1e09B
The "pressure plate" is fricking invisible, unlike the grey pressure plate you encounter in the level right before that. You literally have to walk next to a pillar, shit's as stupid as doom, I'm not gonna headbutt every single wall in the game hopping to trigger something.
Yes, it's supposed to be a secret. And you can tell there's going to be a switch or some way to open the funky coloring on wall (door) when you get up there.
>shit's as stupid as doom, I'm not gonna headbutt every single wall in the game hopping to trigger something.
You've never played Doom in your life. That's not a thing unless you're secret hunting and even then theres usually something subtle to show you there's a secret.
first time getting into tomb raider. ive been having a lot of fun with these games but the character of lara is very different from what i always saw her as.
very wienery and malicious. almost psycho considering how emotionless and silent she is. b***h is just stealing shit and genociding dinos..
she's no heroine like say, samus
wut? no she doesn't. none of the games depict that.
if youre referring to the bounty hunter thing it was something the devs tacked on because they thought it sounded cool. they didnt actually understand what it meant lol.
>how emotionless and silent she is
She's only mostly silent in the games because she's alone most of the time, she talks plenty of shit in the cutscenes
>very wienery and malicious. almost psycho considering how emotionless and silent she is. b***h is just stealing shit and genociding dinos..
sounds based to me
>monk who got tortured by occultist and his team of mercenaries >Lara immediately question him too upon finding him, not caring about his bloodied face, even throwing her shoe at him while she's changing to a swimsuit
No reason to bother with the demaster, it just fricks up the lighting. PC with the automated fix is the best version that still stays vanilla, PS1 emulation if you really want that classic look.
>pierre knocks off 75% of my health between spawning and finishing climbing up from the jump that spawned him on that one cistern room with the bridges, the first one unlocked by the rusty keys
oh yeah i'm really feeling the ng+ now
you just need to anticipate where Pierre spawns and get behind him so he can't shoot you. Most of NG+ involves cheesing, particularly the enemies with guns.
Can anyone show me remastered "Lara turns into gold by stepping on Midas hand" scene? This helped me to discover and fevelop petrification fetish. I would like to see how it goes now.
This is an offensive depiction of "French" "people" and "culture" rooted in racial and ethnic prejudice. These stereotypes are DEEPLY HARMFUL, INEXCUSABLE, and do not align with the values at Crystal Dynamics. And yet they STILL released it. Explain?
>side effect
no it wasn't. it was a deliberate move on eidos's part to raise the game sales. there's a reason the games say "starring lara croft" as a subtitle
There weren't many fully polygonal (including enemies) 3D games at the time. There had been fully 3D racing/fighting/on-rails shooters since 1994, plenty of sprite-based fps but 1996 was the game-changer: Tomb Raider, Quake, Nights into Dreams, Mario 64.
I went from playing side-scrollers on Mega Drive to getting a second-hand Saturn with Tomb Raider. It was incredibly atmospheric - huge dark caverns, minimal music. It was the first game that my dad played too. We would try to beat each others' times for each level.
Why the hell did they keep this dogshit mummy in this room from the PSX version? Yeah let's place a rabid lightning fast enemy that pushes you everywhere in a 2x2 room with an exit towards a big fall. no save place to shoot it from, either. what the frick were they thinking.
it's ironic how the boss in Ice Palace is literally easier to beat with pistols and without taking damage than literally any enemy with a gun in the game, there is just a platform begging to be climbed upon which makes the fight tutorial mode
One of my biggest complaints with this collection from the start has been the lack of options to map step-left and step right to the second shoulder buttons, like the original PS1 game. I'm guessing this is because it's based on the Mac port, so the keyboard controls are really good and the gamepad support is a bit questionable. But they still function. Also, the modern controls seem a bit hard to adjust too. How do I side step with the modern controls? Pressing R3 should also allow for back jump and left/ ride side step with the left analog stick. Also, it would be great if they could at least get run/ walk with the analog sensitivity. I cannot get use to the modern control scheme at all for the classic Tomb Raider games.

I will add. The step left and right controls are easy to work around, since you can hold down the walk button and press left right or back on the D-Pad. But using the modern controls, it is weird that I cannot side step, or jump left and right. The modern controls have a 'lock-on' mode with the free look. Maybe back/ forward sidestep could be enabled with the left stick in this mode. For me, it's just really hard to adjust to the modern controls in the classic TR games. I use the the d-pad for my whole playthrough of TR1.
>Intimidating boss >Kill him easily by running in circles
Great plan, Natla. This truly is the next step in evolution. Although step might be a bad word for it, because your master plan involves a race with no legs for some reason.
Didn't she interrupt it's creation? Like it needs to feed on human flesh to grow to full size or something?
Also how does Natla have trouble against Lara with a pair of guns when she can throw apocalyptic city-destruction attacks by herself according to one of the flashbacks?
it was but i think that anon was referring to the flashback FMV cutscene where a cataclysm destroys atlantis
that cataclysm was a meteor shower, not natla's powers
Playing TR 1 Remastered
Just started Natla's Mines level
Bastards took my guns
So I'm frickin scurrying around the mines unarmed with those buttholes shooting at me every chance they get
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhh shit whaddya frick.
Also I found a fuse but then I died. When I reloaded the game my fuse was gone from inventory. This level is pissing me off now.
is it weird that i go on youtube and look up a couple of longplays to see how far i have made it into the game every so often? i am at the temple of xian and according to some longplay i am 6/7 on the way to the end
Do the manuals for TR3 gave give more context to why Lara is going to those places and the other characters? Like how the frick did she know one of the meteorites is in area 51 and who's the blonde woman in London?
no idea why she's in india looking for the infada stone but she meets someone at the end of the India chapter who tells her about the location of the other artifacts
>no ng+ save crystal after cowboy so i can skip straight to the detonator (i suck absolute dogshit at that trick jump)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DON'T MAKE ME PLAY DEV INTENDED NATLA'S MINES
I get a kick out of levels that use that Cistern ambience track. You just now the sound designer recording himself flushing a toilet and added some reverb to it.
Why do people want them to remaster/touch up Angel of Darkness so much? That game is broken on any gameplay and level design sense and fixing it all would basically be starting from scratch outside of assets and concepts
Remaster TR4 and TR5, and then add a touched up, polished version of the level editing tools that the fans have been reworking with for decades with Steam workshop support instead.
because mod remasters tend to be shit and not vanilla 2.0? its gonna take a whole remake to make AoD good. because the whole game feels like shit on first impact, right down to the movement and physics, and the focus on combat and stealth.
it's funny how flares are only useful for like two areas in the game at what they're supposed to do, yet pros use them all the time for huge jumps skipping fall damage
just found out today that you can quick swap weapons on controller.
hold inventory button and then hit shoulder buttons/triggers/face buttons. I kept taking a hand off the controller and using the number keys on keyboard.
Am I the only one a bit underwhelmed by the remastered graphics? The environments look nice enough I guess, but Lara's model and textures looks like something from early in the first xbox gen. I wasn't expecting super realism like the CD ones, but I mean Halo 2 looked better than this, some of the human npcs in Halo 2 looked better than Lara in these remasters. And how easy would it have been to redo the cutscenes?
I'm the opposite. I think Lara looks good, but the environment is kind of lazy. A lot of shadows are lost and the AI upscale is terrible in some places. I am still enjoying the game tho.
So I'm in City of Vilcabamba and I've been running around like an butthole looking for the silver key.
I've exhausted all areas, and there's nothing.
I finally break and look it up, and much to my dismay there is literally no key in my game.
No golden idol either.
I thought maybe I picked them up and forgot about it but they aren't in my inventory either.
Has anyone else encountered this bug.
This isn't a graphical bug either, neither item show in either mode.
Oh, I missed that. So fricking stupid. She's clearly the old Lara design, but because she has that necklace she's nu-Lara?

It's seems extra stupid considering nu-Lara never even fights any dinosaurs. Whatever, I'll post the other version next time so I can avoid pissing off insane people.
I'm sticking with tank controls but my god, what a horrible experience.
I'm no stranger to the concept, but for whatever reason controlling Lara is still a nightmare several hours in.
You might need practice in the tutorial. Also, recognition that the movement is grid based. The games don't expect you to be moving and platforming quickly except in a handful of instances.
imagine not being able to enjoy tank controls.
holy shit dude, life must suck in so many other areas if you can't handle tank controls, especially in this game where it's so good.
I'm glad I wasn't born low IQ.

In line with the grid based movement, this guide can help you understand how Lara's moves work.
It took me like 10 minutes to get the controls down... then I accidentally loaded when I was trying to save. The fact that save/load is in the same menu and you can load with no warning message is fricking moronic. I don't even feel like playing this game anymore because of that. I know I'm going to keep doing it.
I know there's quick saves and there's the achievement for beating it in limited saves, but do the save crystals still exist? Maybe has health pickups?
crystals exist in NG+ where there's no medkits, using a crystal tops off your health
I'm not sure about 2 because that never had crystals, not even on console, and the crystals in 3 were collectibles, essentially banking saves to be used later
I installed the dos demo of the original today and as soon as it opened up i was in graphics heaven, the 256 color, 240 lines, and geometry were all in such harmony. It has another graphics mode with higher res which looks worse because, that's what happens when res is higher than suits geometry/texture detail/color depth, as you can see here - left for example her arm looks like 'an arm, though low res' whereas right is 'more clearly' some kind of blank tube. I always thought this game only looked intense in my memory because screenies are so blurry, smeary and shit. turns out that's just because everyone who takes screens turn on 3dfx or whatever, despite knowing now how much of a mistake early hardware graphics acceleration was.
Anyway the games don't need remasters, 1 looks so good in 240 mode and TOMB2 can go up to frickin 1366 res (at least) if you press f2 a bunch of times. running smooth as silk on win10
>"GORILLAS could be here" she thought >"I've never been to this tomb before" >"GORILLAS could be anywhere" >the cool, ancient breeze felt good against her chest >"I HATE GORILLAS" the Tomb Raider theme reverberated through the entire cavern, making it pulsate as the small health pack circulated through her thick thighs and washed away her (merited) fear of gorillas in tombs. >"with a speedboat, you can go anywhere you want" she said to herself, out loud.
How have you got this far without realizing the puzzles often have clues in the level itself?
I remember TR4 having some bullshit puzzles but I was a kid then so if that gets remastered I might be surprised.
>what is the atmospheric pressure at 40 fathoms below surface level?
P = ρgd
P = 1024/998 (depending on water type, salinity etc) x 9.8 x 73.152m (40 fathoms = 73.152m)
P = 734094.9504 OR 715455.8208 = 734 kPa or 715 kPa (that's just from the water, itself)
Now add 101 kPa for the atmosphere
835 kPa or 816 kPa
that's 8.24 atm or 8.05 atm
That's without taking into account some other factors like temperature variations
You can also just take the depth in meters and multiply by it 10k, that's what newish divers do to get a rough guess. 73 m x 10,000 = 730,000 kpa
That depends on your gear and training, if you're considering Lara assuming she had the best training she would experience a little euphoria but not get too bendy initially. Someone without such training would be completely fricked. The hard thing about this is coming back up, that's why divers going for these records do so with systems meant to bring them back up or do it in very confined pools.
Lara kind of went past the safe point, she definitely would've been fricked over by the pressure and Nitrogen Narcosis.
the threads these past 2 days have been pretty wild, buddies
seems like we're receiving a LOT of shitposters and anons who are generally out to derail the threads

It's pretty refreshing how the game doesn't hand hold at all. I got stuck in the sphinx room for like 30 minutes and was totally stumped and then the thought of shimmying past the head dawned on me and I was like "there's no way" and yes. That was the way. Why can't they make more games like this again bros?
Anyone got it on switch? How is it? Does it control horrendously? Does it perform ok? I have pc and PS5 but legit just want to play it at night in bed.
Plays well on my Xbox so I assume the Switch version is probably fine too.
Thanks, think I'll just buy it then. Been in these threads constantly since it came out and it looks great. I do worry about the controls though, I did play originally when they came out but I was about 8/9. If I could play it then I'm sure I can now.
TR2's NG+ lets you save anywhere and gives you medis from finding all secrets.
TR3 is the same trial and error traps that force you to know the entire game by heart or just slowly progress with checkpoints.
NG+ peaks with TR1.
>TR3 is the same trial and error traps that force you to know the entire game by heart or just slowly progress with checkpoints.
How do the save crystals work? On PS1 you could use the crystals you collected from your inventory to save anywhere you wanted, I'd love that.
That's a thing weak women who want to feel powerful do, also why they seek out weak men who are into such things. Lara is anything but. She makes her lover suck wieners and get fricked while she watches like the og fujo she is.
>already died 10 times to this fricking segment even though i killed the mutants and saved afterwards which means i get to start at full health

Overall fun, but not better than the originals IMO. Though maybe they'll add stuff, or improve it. It's a good remaster because the originals are timeless and didn't require much of improving IMO.

No save achievements are not worth it
I just finished TR2 with 500 saves
I just finished this level without getting all the fuses and without dropping the building from the ceiling.
Cowboy- ass kicked
Skater punk- ass kicked
Big Black person - ass kicked
Killed all the mofos
Got all my weapons back and got the skate punk's Uzis.
And got out of there alive without doing all the fuses bullshit. There's got to be some kind of award for this.
Oh yeah. I'll be snuggling with Lara at the Croft mansion tonite.
I wish they'd made the TR anime based on her OG adventures. >Cold, kickass, grey morality, no fricks given >You can have all kinds of episodes: Gallows Tree for horror, VCI for a fancy heist, murder mystery in Paris and so on >A basic template already exists with Netflix's Carmen Sandiego cartoon, just make that but more mature.
Ya I saw it thanks to these threads. This >>> the new series, I want more because it's so short though and you can tell they didn't really focus on the story for most episodes.
Even though only one of the Dark Souls 2 DLCs has you use a bow in a very basic manner to solve some puzzles (actually kinda fun) the setting of said DLC and some of the other stuff you have to do there made it feel more classic TR-y than any of the NuLara games. That's really sad.
i made that post and i wasn't complaining, it just caught me by surprise because embers do laughable damage in the regular game.
the great pyramid trap segment is the only "hard" thing about NG+ and it's not "hard" just scummy, the arrows while shimmying are pretty much unavoidable and whittle you down to the point you get oneshot if you touch an ember. the second time around i didn't get hit by embers and it was smooth sailing to finish the game off from that point onwards. even natla felt like a joke after sinking so much uzi ammo onto Torso.
Remixed enemy layouts

Enemies have new attacks
Remixed puzzles (more items + interaction points)

For TR3: >cheats don't work >start with all weapons, one pickup of each >more damage and health on enemies >traps do a lot more damage >crystals are once again required to save and heal, but you collect them and use them from the inventory whenever you want >high security compound robs you of your entire inventory including flares, just like in the classic games. you don't get any items back >all monkeys, Area 51 prisoners, RXTech flamethrowers and Crash Site soldiers are all hostile from the start (high security compounds' are still friendly for obvious reasons)

There's a huge firey area, with a trapdoor
You pull the lever to open the trapdoor, but to make the jump, you have to run, jump and hold grab, which will make her animation switch so that you won't touch the fire even though you aren't grabbing anything
Do you not use grab to prevent Lara from being knocked back from walls?

This is doable in a lot of places throughout the series
TR1 spoiler alert
Just started playing and I'm having an issue with jumping on a short ledge. Let's say I climb up a block then I gotta jump over to another block, you got like 2 or 3 steps before lara runs off the block. I tap jump, I hold jump and she normally just runs off the edge without jumping. What am I missing?
Instead of doing slow steps back, try taking just one "regular speed" step back, it's the exact length for a running jump.
Seems like even when I backup all the way it's hit or miss on her jumping. Does when I tap jump matter?
You're supposed to hit jump almost instantly after you start running forward. There's a delay to jumping.
You need a full block to do a running jump.
Technically if you start walking forward, let go of walk but keep holding forward and then jump, you can do a running jump with less than a block of running length
Where's the actual interview/source that stated that the Unfinished Business levels were originally supposed to be the Atlantean levels first? Not saying anyone is wrong, I just really want to read the interview.
There isn't any, it's something that cropped up on the forums and the modders ran with it/believed it for some reason, and of course one of them is leading the development on this.
>DESIGNER'S NOTES: According to Philip Campbell, the level designer for Unfinished Business, the Atlantis levels were meant to be played before Return to Egypt, and Lara was intended to start with only the pistols. In an interview with Theresa Jenne from tombraiders.com, Campbell explained, "That sets them at the correct difficulty level (i.e., expert). You have to start without pickups and only with your pistols. Then, the shotgun is easy to get, and I provided plenty of shells to influence the player to use it, and perhaps also influence the style of play—slow and stealthy. The Uzis are then not available until the second level, and they are in a special place (the 'shop window' in the big Lava room). The magnums are reasonably well hidden in the first level." If you want to play Unfinished Business as its creator intended, either restart the game and use the level-skip cheat to get to the beginning of this level, or download a savegame file.

What proof do you want? Do you want a sworn affidavit form Phillip
I know about Stella's guide but that's just repetition of what's said on the forums, anon was asking for the original interview source for a reason. There might be some other reason they moved the level order around, and it could also just be a mistake as they say, that's why finding the source would be interesting.

>What is the proper way to get down the hole in the basement under the gold wedge-shaped hill in the big valley? I never did find it and had to use Jeff Reid's new move, up arrow + CTL which allows Lara to land on the small pyramid. >"This was sneaky - that's why I left those medipacks lying around. The trick is you HAVE to be at full strength, and we found that in testing 'expert' players tended not to 'top up' their health ( a sign of weakness, using medipacks!) and therefore they tended to get stuck more than the 'fill 'er up' players..." >"When at full strength, lower Lara down into the hole, and shimmy 'til you are above the closest part of the pyramid ( check the shadow) - then you can drop and slide, and not have a nice day..."
It's almost like this is dogshit game design. But no, it's the players fault for thinking they're in the wrong for taking a mandatory, unavoidable hit to 90% of his health. Let's put this in TR2 and TR3 too!

This isn't mandatory damage. By fake-grabbing and holding left/right you can hit the slopes at the top acting as a support for the gong.
Yes
The precision and the consistency is because the game takes place on a grid and because you can see the collision geometry, there are no invisible hitboxes for platforms, what you see is what you're actually colliding with

Just had a Baader Meinhof moment with the word "fathom". I learnt the word from the level 40 Fathoms in TR2 yesterday, and then I heard someone say "deep six", which means to kill somebody, originally from throwing something overboard and it going past six fathoms of depth making it unrecoverable.

>when lara quietly swims away from the hive suddenly everything goes kaboom
what happened?
They just wanted to make more Atlantis levels and didn't care about continuity
good timing
that, and the developers figured players don't actually want to do precision jumping and dodging in the trap gauntlet with the screen constantly shaking.
It takes place directly after The Great Pyramid? I thought it was something like "oh yeah I found this stronghold somewhere after my adventure".
that makes no sense. atlantis exploded. atlantean stronghold even starts in the same slide the pyramid level ends in
The whole island exploded, it makes even less sense that way.
If the stronghold was somewhere place else as Natla's backup plan it would make sense.
no? the island was still in the process of exploding
ah yes and she took her sweet time cleaning up ths stronghold and the hive while the end cutscene showed her running away as fast as she could
Unfinished Business was a crappy cheap cashgrab and it makes no sense in the story.
Honestly TR1 is a perfect self-contained game and story that doesn't need anything else.
Every TR game since has been crappy shovelware.
Filtered. UB's egypt levels are the best TR1 levels.
>cashgrab
UB bonus levels were given out for free you underaged moron.
No they weren't lol, how would that even work, you think it was a free download on Steam you zoomer moron?
https://web.archive.org/web/19980709170957/http://www.core-design.com/tombub.htm
Little surprise you think everything revolves around the same 5 websites in your centralized nu-Internet, zoomie.
Back in the day you just grabbed the bonus levels off the official TR website. And for consolegays it was just sold as a separate CD bundled with TR1 as "TR1 Gold". Why do you think fan-made projects like TR2Main allow you to just download and/or install UB and GM alongside them but not the base games you have to pay money for, you moron?
why are secondaries like this?
>what happened?

Anyone else getting absolutely filtered by the secrets?
For an introductory set of levels India is absolutely sadistic.
What do you expect with a hot woman in india?
underrated
TR3's India levels were originally going to be an expansion for TR2. The devs didn't design them to be new player-friendly.
Is there a source for this? Because I guessed this while replaying TR3 a little while back.
>fart noises and pig squealing in the distance
Cistern... home...
first time getting into tomb raider. ive been having a lot of fun with these games but the character of lara is very different from what i always saw her as.
very wienery and malicious. almost psycho considering how emotionless and silent she is. b***h is just stealing shit and genociding dinos..
she's no heroine like say, samus
>she's no heroine like say, samus
Samus kills people for money, you know that, right?
wut? no she doesn't. none of the games depict that.
if youre referring to the bounty hunter thing it was something the devs tacked on because they thought it sounded cool. they didnt actually understand what it meant lol.
>how emotionless and silent she is
She's only mostly silent in the games because she's alone most of the time, she talks plenty of shit in the cutscenes
You want her to quip to herself constantly? Play the reboot series instead.
And that's a good thing
Yeah, isn't she awesome?
Also, Samus has genocided alien lifeforms and she blows up every planet she goes to.
Nothing summarizes her better than that scene in chronicles where she lets Pierre fall. Cheeky but ruthless.
Look at this ruthless monster
pure angel of death
>Neurotypical
>White instead of a /med/
Do you even play the games you make memes about?
britbongs aren't mediterraneans. why are americans always making the dumbest fricking posts?
I can fix her.
how can you fix perfection?
>very wienery and malicious. almost psycho considering how emotionless and silent she is. b***h is just stealing shit and genociding dinos..
sounds based to me
>monk who got tortured by occultist and his team of mercenaries
>Lara immediately question him too upon finding him, not caring about his bloodied face, even throwing her shoe at him while she's changing to a swimsuit
MY QUEEN
why can't i aim at this rat? also why is it frozen in place? it looks dead but i don't remember killing it
It's not active yet, you have to go near it
It's like that in the original. It's only triggered when you go through specific tiles (you don't necessarily need to land on them).
Tomb Raider's always been one of my "I'll get to it someday" games. Should I play the remaster or emulate the originals?
Well emulation is free, if you want to just try it out first. Tank controls might be off-putting at first but the game is built around it very well.
>Well emulation is free
The Roms are not
You don't need ROMs. OpenLara exists.
They are ISOs and they most definitely are free
No reason to bother with the demaster, it just fricks up the lighting. PC with the automated fix is the best version that still stays vanilla, PS1 emulation if you really want that classic look.
Tomb Raider sucks so you’ll be disappointed and bored either way.
Try emulating I guess. Just ignore all the Crystal Dynamics employees in the thread.
>pierre knocks off 75% of my health between spawning and finishing climbing up from the jump that spawned him on that one cistern room with the bridges, the first one unlocked by the rusty keys
oh yeah i'm really feeling the ng+ now
Just wait until you get to TR2's NG+ and every enemy is a Pierre!
at least you get some meds in TR2 and can save whenever you want
you just need to anticipate where Pierre spawns and get behind him so he can't shoot you. Most of NG+ involves cheesing, particularly the enemies with guns.
what the FRICK
i just got to atlantis. why is cave ambience playing instead of the heartbeat?
Why did I hear the heartbeat from TR1 in the ship of 2, or cave ambiances from 1 in many places in 2, even the fricking OPERA?
these frozen rats look so bad. what were the devs thinking?
They're intimidated
>Play TR1
>Lara doesn't say "Ah hah!"
No sense in playing anymore.
"Ah-ha" wasn't added until TR2, tourist.
Can anyone show me remastered "Lara turns into gold by stepping on Midas hand" scene? This helped me to discover and fevelop petrification fetish. I would like to see how it goes now.
LMAO WHAT ARE THESE
would
I have no idea why I'm killing all these people
they're in the way
Tomb Raider is a game about mass murdering thousands of goons in modern settings.
t. Every "TR" game after TR1
I hope patches are still being worked on, seems there is some company drama concerning the russian programmers
qrd?
well, it seems like some people are not happy they have russian people on the dev team? idk man
This is an offensive depiction of "French" "people" and "culture" rooted in racial and ethnic prejudice. These stereotypes are DEEPLY HARMFUL, INEXCUSABLE, and do not align with the values at Crystal Dynamics. And yet they STILL released it. Explain?
they censored the cultured depicted in the jacket though. the infamous nipple race.
you're better off trolling the CD games with this
Are these games any good? I always thought they were only famous because of the marketing with the bimbo main character.
nah they're janky, piss-easy, and use fricking tank controls. it's basically the very first safe coomerbait game
Why do this?
tell him the truth? i dunno, why would i lie?
Yeah, they were good, the character becoming a sex symbol was just a side effect
>side effect
no it wasn't. it was a deliberate move on eidos's part to raise the game sales. there's a reason the games say "starring lara croft" as a subtitle
>bimbo
No.
Yeah let's place a rabid lightning fast enemy that pushes you everywhere in a 2x2 room with an exit towards a big fall. no save place to shoot it from, either. what the frick were they thinking.
as with the whole of these games, a "frick you" generally
it's ironic how the boss in Ice Palace is literally easier to beat with pistols and without taking damage than literally any enemy with a gun in the game, there is just a platform begging to be climbed upon which makes the fight tutorial mode
hitscan was a mistake
I'm save scumming like crazy
you did not beat the game
that's a big crystal
Saving and loading is not save scumming in these games. You are intended to die and load a save.
Jesus christ gen z is fricking stupid
Sad how they turned this hot schizo duke nukem like woman into the joke that is nuLara.
I love Melonie

I'm really enjoying the ship levels from tr2 🙂
how
nooo you can't do that
Maria Doria was always one of my favorite parts of TR2. It wasn't until I came to these threads that I realized people apparently hate them.
I always loved them, but I like the passenger sections, while a lot of the mechanical rooms kind of suck.
I liked the Maria Doris levels
Should have just been 3 levels, Living Quarters could easily be cut.
shhhh he's sleeping
Stop cheating with photo mode.
i'm not cheating with photo mode. i'm cheating with sequence breaking, if there even is such a thing as sequence breaking on an open level.
>Intimidating boss
>Kill him easily by running in circles
Great plan, Natla. This truly is the next step in evolution. Although step might be a bad word for it, because your master plan involves a race with no legs for some reason.
>a kick in the pants
>can't wear pants
What did she mean by this?
SEX
I swear, even Umbrella would think this thing is stupid.
Didn't she interrupt it's creation? Like it needs to feed on human flesh to grow to full size or something?
Also how does Natla have trouble against Lara with a pair of guns when she can throw apocalyptic city-destruction attacks by herself according to one of the flashbacks?
>when she can throw apocalyptic city-destruction attacks by herself according to one of the flashbacks?
that was a natural meteor, i think
I thought it was the atomic tests that woke her up.
it was but i think that anon was referring to the flashback FMV cutscene where a cataclysm destroys atlantis
that cataclysm was a meteor shower, not natla's powers
this is the first time Lara has ever seen a benis
How do you move her around in photo mode?
You don't. I played with her in game rotation to get her in the right place.
I don't remember this artifact from the previous games
that's because it wasn't in them. the last chronicles chapter talks about it
That's because you didn't pull the lever, Miss Croft.
is that the Georgian alphabet on the wall?
depends, is cambodia near georgia?
Khmer
Chronologically, about when does Lara actually go through the levels in Unfinished Business?
this model is so much hotter than the smoothed down one
Playing TR 1 Remastered
Just started Natla's Mines level
Bastards took my guns
So I'm frickin scurrying around the mines unarmed with those buttholes shooting at me every chance they get
you're supposed to have your guns before you face the first goon
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhh shit whaddya frick.
Also I found a fuse but then I died. When I reloaded the game my fuse was gone from inventory. This level is pissing me off now.
you fricked it
Time for some real fighting.
there's no skaterboy in there, try posting this again next level

that is where the uzis are stored

HEY IM SKATIN HERE!
My fricking sides
So this is how you're meant to fight the bullshit hitscan enemies. I see clearly now.
Is he on a skateboard? What happened to tomb raider being a serious franchise?
tomb raider only because a tryhard "please take me seriously" franchise in the second reboot
what's your preference of Keyboard, PS1 or Saturn pad for TR
is it weird that i go on youtube and look up a couple of longplays to see how far i have made it into the game every so often? i am at the temple of xian and according to some longplay i am 6/7 on the way to the end
yes wtf just look at the level list
why is there ammo floating in the air in sanctuary of the scion? did these morons not test their game?
oh i get it, it's the same shit as the large medipack in midas palace. 90s developers and their sense of "humor"...

The way they handled secrets in TR2 was better
man TR3 is some bullshit huh
what could they have done to make the human gunners more fun to fight in tr2? was it even possible to make them fun and fair?
Im at palace midas
I get a kick out of levels that use that Cistern ambience track. You just now the sound designer recording himself flushing a toilet and added some reverb to it.
the age of sound mixing creativity
Why do people want them to remaster/touch up Angel of Darkness so much? That game is broken on any gameplay and level design sense and fixing it all would basically be starting from scratch outside of assets and concepts
Remaster TR4 and TR5, and then add a touched up, polished version of the level editing tools that the fans have been reworking with for decades with Steam workshop support instead.
AoD has already been fixed by fans thoughever
what are the 'fixes'?
is it like HL2: Cinematic mod?
why would you think that?
because mod remasters tend to be shit and not vanilla 2.0? its gonna take a whole remake to make AoD good. because the whole game feels like shit on first impact, right down to the movement and physics, and the focus on combat and stealth.
>Why do people want them to remaster/touch up Angel of Darkness so much?
I dont know what to do and go next
have you explored every corner of the level, fren?
what does the m on those three tiles on the top stand for?
you can jump from there to there btw
M stands for midas
it's funny how flares are only useful for like two areas in the game at what they're supposed to do, yet pros use them all the time for huge jumps skipping fall damage
you're right, that is funny
just found out today that you can quick swap weapons on controller.
hold inventory button and then hit shoulder buttons/triggers/face buttons. I kept taking a hand off the controller and using the number keys on keyboard.
Why are bongs such cattle?
Am I the only one a bit underwhelmed by the remastered graphics? The environments look nice enough I guess, but Lara's model and textures looks like something from early in the first xbox gen. I wasn't expecting super realism like the CD ones, but I mean Halo 2 looked better than this, some of the human npcs in Halo 2 looked better than Lara in these remasters. And how easy would it have been to redo the cutscenes?
homosexual
>Am I the only one a bit underwhelmed by the remastered graphics
yes
Nah that's reasonable. I think it looks "fine" for what it is but I still prefer to just play with the original graphics.
>using the worst stage ever made for TR as a excuse
what a shitty bait
>what a shitty bait
Imagine deflecting attention away by making it about the stage quality, it's clearly about the lack of visual improvement shill.
I'm the opposite. I think Lara looks good, but the environment is kind of lazy. A lot of shadows are lost and the AI upscale is terrible in some places. I am still enjoying the game tho.
she looks like the cover art from time
what more do you want?
>but Lara's model and textures looks like something from early in the first xbox gen
And that's a good thing?
So I'm in City of Vilcabamba and I've been running around like an butthole looking for the silver key.
I've exhausted all areas, and there's nothing.
I finally break and look it up, and much to my dismay there is literally no key in my game.
No golden idol either.
I thought maybe I picked them up and forgot about it but they aren't in my inventory either.
Has anyone else encountered this bug.
This isn't a graphical bug either, neither item show in either mode.
Never mind, I actually did have them they just don't show in my inventory.
Nice game.
You have to scroll up one page in your inventory to see key items.
CLASSIC TOMB RAIDER RULES
>Is that some endangered species I hear?

here's a quick edit on the house just so you don't have an excuse of not having one either
gebaseerd
Am I missing something here? Both pictures look the same to me.
spergs sperg over a necklace
Oh, I missed that. So fricking stupid. She's clearly the old Lara design, but because she has that necklace she's nu-Lara?
Litearlly what CD are trying to achieve with the "unified" design.
It's seems extra stupid considering nu-Lara never even fights any dinosaurs. Whatever, I'll post the other version next time so I can avoid pissing off insane people.
Better brightness
What even was the point of filling this place with water? There's nothing there that I couldn't get without the water.
Fricking hell.
Anyway the games don't need remasters, 1 looks so good in 240 mode and TOMB2 can go up to frickin 1366 res (at least) if you press f2 a bunch of times. running smooth as silk on win10
it especially did not need a remaster becuase it is not fun
hated these games when they frickin came out
frickin wolves
of all the bullshit enemies in these games, wolves are the least egregious
>it did not need a remaster because I was filtered by them when they came out
>playing quake at the time online
>"filtered" by tomb raider
right, exactly. just like i got filtered by all the other useless shit on that era of consoles
>complain about wolves of everything
>mentions a game that has nothing to do with tomb raider
>I w-wasn't filtered by it!
Absolutely embarassing.
>frickin wolves
How does this make you not sound filtered by the 2nd enemy in the game?
What a weird boomer post, right obviously looks better, especially in motion.
Are you unironically nostalgic for aliasing
Why are all inages in this thread dark (as in brightness) as frick?
what do you think a tomb is?
I still don't understand why people have so much trouble with the controls in this game

Probably not, though you might have some luck with Linux but I wouldn't recommend it because of the hassle involved.
linux without a vulkan capable gpu is a terrible idea
True, axe that.
If I bought the remaster on Switch am I legally entitled to pirate it on PC?
you're legally entitled to emulate all switch games for free.
nintendo deserves it and loves when people play their games for free (on PC)
I pirated these a long time ago and I'm legally entitled to pirate the remasters too thanks to that. Go ahead.

they were seduced by her charming smile and well-done braid
Why is this expression looking down...? It's almost like she's looking at something below stomach level...
>"GORILLAS could be here" she thought
>"I've never been to this tomb before"
>"GORILLAS could be anywhere"
>the cool, ancient breeze felt good against her chest
>"I HATE GORILLAS" the Tomb Raider theme reverberated through the entire cavern, making it pulsate as the small health pack circulated through her thick thighs and washed away her (merited) fear of gorillas in tombs.
>"with a speedboat, you can go anywhere you want" she said to herself, out loud.

i have a gold bar after the fire corridor but I do not understand this lever puzzle and don't know where to go
Did you happen to look at the doors in that room?
how did you get in the fire room?
Thank you, anon. Your post made me feel better about myself for being able to figure it out.
hey, buddy! this is a fren zone! we don't discriminate other frens just because they get filtered easily like morons
also, kek
How have you got this far without realizing the puzzles often have clues in the level itself?
I remember TR4 having some bullshit puzzles but I was a kid then so if that gets remastered I might be surprised.
what is the atmospheric pressure at 40 fathoms below surface level?
>what is the atmospheric pressure at 40 fathoms below surface level?
P = ρgd
P = 1024/998 (depending on water type, salinity etc) x 9.8 x 73.152m (40 fathoms = 73.152m)
P = 734094.9504 OR 715455.8208 = 734 kPa or 715 kPa (that's just from the water, itself)
Now add 101 kPa for the atmosphere
835 kPa or 816 kPa
that's 8.24 atm or 8.05 atm
That's without taking into account some other factors like temperature variations
You can also just take the depth in meters and multiply by it 10k, that's what newish divers do to get a rough guess. 73 m x 10,000 = 730,000 kpa
* Pa, not Kpa
It'd be 730 kPa
nerd
would it make you go bendy
That depends on your gear and training, if you're considering Lara assuming she had the best training she would experience a little euphoria but not get too bendy initially. Someone without such training would be completely fricked. The hard thing about this is coming back up, that's why divers going for these records do so with systems meant to bring them back up or do it in very confined pools.
Lara kind of went past the safe point, she definitely would've been fricked over by the pressure and Nitrogen Narcosis.
I've heard of the terracotta warriors of xian, is that what the green golems are supposed to be?

Is unfinished business worth playing or do I go straight to Tomb Raider 2?
play unfinished business, then play 2, then 2's DLC, then 3, then 3's DLC
I skip the expansions
dunno, never played it
It's SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than TR1 and even some portions of TR2, so I wouldn't call it fun. But if you like ballbusters, go for it.

It's pretty refreshing how the game doesn't hand hold at all. I got stuck in the sphinx room for like 30 minutes and was totally stumped and then the thought of shimmying past the head dawned on me and I was like "there's no way" and yes. That was the way. He's overcompensating.
that is the literal opposite meaning of overcompensating
nah, his penis is just microscopic
understandable
Unless....
Does this look like an anglo*d or a /med/?
SCUMSUCKER
Dwayne Johnson works for Natla?
All these pictures and videos giving me nostalgia think i might have to buy them.
Anyone got it on switch? How is it? Does it control horrendously? Does it perform ok? I have pc and PS5 but legit just want to play it at night in bed.
I have it, it's okay once you get used to tank controls.
Thanks, think I'll just buy it then. Been in these threads constantly since it came out and it looks great. I do worry about the controls though, I did play originally when they came out but I was about 8/9. If I could play it then I'm sure I can now.
Just spend some time doing the training course at Lara's home, you get used to them pretty quickly
Plays well on my Xbox so I assume the Switch version is probably fine too.
>even rubbing up against Torso's finger instakills you
>spent 2000+ uzi ammo to kill him
great stuff. can't wait to start TR2's ng+
On PS1 you could use the crystals you collected from your inventory to save anywhere you wanted, I'd love that.
same
I love Lara so much bros
I bet she fricks like a wild animal.
She seems to me like the type of girl that tried every kind of extreme act of depraved sexuality possible and got bored of it when nothing was left.
it's canon that she fricks guys using a 19 inch dildo
it's canon your mom is a fat hog
That's a thing weak women who want to feel powerful do, also why they seek out weak men who are into such things. Lara is anything but. She makes her lover suck wieners and get fricked while she watches like the og fujo she is.
did i say 19 inch dildo? i meant her actual 30 inch dick
That's more like it, she always looked like a troony to me.
AY YO THIS GUY SAID LARA LOOKS LIKE A troony
LET'S GET HIM
She has a serious case of troony face anon, you can't deny. Plus the 30 incher, case closed.
don't you ever disrespect my wife again
You should worry more about her spending time with Kurtis in love hotels
quit reading out of your diary
Quit believing you're married to a cgi model
the sex remain unhaved
Like they do on the Discovery Channel
uWu
Jeez. Crystal Dynamics really held contempt for the classic trilogy.
>already died 10 times to this fricking segment even though i killed the mutants and saved afterwards which means i get to start at full health
AAAAAIIIIIEEEEE FORGIVE ME NG+-SAMA I HAVE UNDERESTIMATED YOU
>actually got through after making this post
>die to embers
holy SHIT why are the basic b***h traps doing so much fricking damage now
Ok bros, so I've installed it. My impressions so far
>TR always had those troon gay fans so I guess photo mode will be fan for them. You can go wherever you want with it so feels like cheating big time
>WHY THE FRICK ITS UGLIER IN RETRO MODE THAN PC ORIGINALS
>WHY IT RUNS SO FRICKING BAD ON MY PLEB 1050 TI
>Why no even Anti Aliasing
>Fricks with Riva Turner
>Ugly water
>No fun stuff, like support for mods, or sth
>NG+ is a nice addition
Overall fun, but not better than the originals IMO. Though maybe they'll add stuff, or improve it. It's a good remaster because the originals are timeless and didn't require much of improving IMO.
Ouch I KNOW why it fricking lags, because it runs on integrated by default, silly me.
What would be a good Ancient Civilization for Lara to explore in a future game? My vote is Jomon era Japan.
well, Ganker?
I wish there was a mod that restores save game crystals to the pc version.
OpenLara does that, no?
You can though? TR1x lets you and Troye's Tomb3 lets you have save crystals too. TR2 never had them.
it's called ng+, the way TR1 was meant to be played
Yeah dude I love all the enemies having tons of fricking health and being giant bullet sponges real fricking NEATO
I'm pretty sure TR1 on the PC was save anywhere. Meaning if you're on the PC the remaster is pretty much the same as the original.
>just checked the achievement
>less than 86 saves
>I am Natla's mines with fricking 40 saves
I am going to save scum the SHIT out of the rest of the game.
I saved like crazy and ended up with 140 or so saves. It was my first time through and honestly half of them were after Egypt because holy shit the last few levels crank up the difficulty
>ended up with 140 or so saves.
TR-1 I'm on Atlanta's Level
Up to 270+ saves lol (pathetic I know)
I hate redoing anymore more shit than I have to.
The games design philosophy was trial and error with appropriate saving, there is nothing shameful about it
PSX had save crystals by virtue of the memory card system
I'm
and I finished with about 70 saves total.
I could have lowered that number by not saving at the start and end of each level.
>did the achievement
>used Restart Level instead of saving at the start of the level
>didn't save mid-level once until Francis' Folly at the tall room
>ate shit during a missed jump going downwards and had to do all 4 rooms again
>saved mid-level to do the Coliseum jump straight to the balcony
>didn't save once in Zoo Midas, but ate shit during a jump and had to start over because a notification forced my operating system to lose focus on the game which made me run off a cliff
>saved in Cistern after flooding the level
>saved in Tihocan before the slide
>didn't save in City of Khamoon
>didn't save in Obelisk, but ate shit again from a mummy pushing me off the top of the tall blue room
>saved twice in Sanctuary needlessly because the flying atlantean AI cannot be trusted
>one save in natla's mines to skip straight to the detonator
>at this point i realized i'm being too conservative with my saves
>saved in atlantis every time i reached the middle tall room
>saved in great pyramid before every trap segment
>finish game with sub-40 saves anyway
>also got the speedrun achievement even though i wasted well over double the run's duration in real life time recovering from eating shit
No save achievements are not worth it
I just finished TR2 with 500 saves
>I just finished TR2 with 500 saves
TR-1 Natla's Mines level
I just finished this level without getting all the fuses and without dropping the building from the ceiling.
Cowboy- ass kicked
Skater punk- ass kicked
Big Black person - ass kicked
Killed all the mofos
Got all my weapons back and got the skate punk's Uzis.
And got out of there alive without doing all the fuses bullshit. There's got to be some kind of award for this.
Oh yeah. I'll be snuggling with Lara at the Croft mansion tonite.
I wish they'd made the TR anime based on her OG adventures.
>Cold, kickass, grey morality, no fricks given
>You can have all kinds of episodes: Gallows Tree for horror, VCI for a fancy heist, murder mystery in Paris and so on
>A basic template already exists with Netflix's Carmen Sandiego cartoon, just make that but more mature.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1124308/
Ya I saw it thanks to these threads. This >>> the new series, I want more because it's so short though and you can tell they didn't really focus on the story for most episodes.
how does she do it
how do you fix the camera like this?
dev mode
>just sleeping
that ground is actually lara's bed
???
>Fricking Chris Barrie played the butler in the Angelina Jolie movies
I thought it was great. Although he came across as a competent Arnold Rimmer.
Even though only one of the Dark Souls 2 DLCs has you use a bow in a very basic manner to solve some puzzles (actually kinda fun) the setting of said DLC and some of the other stuff you have to do there made it feel more classic TR-y than any of the NuLara games. That's really sad.
>people say TR is too easy now with saving anywhere
>people try TR NG+ and they start complaining that it's too hard
NOTHAN PERSONALE
NG+ enemies do more damage and removes medi packs
who is complaining it's too hard?
>AAAIIIIIIIEEEEEE THE FIRE EMBERS IN ATLANTIS!!!!!
i made that post and i wasn't complaining, it just caught me by surprise because embers do laughable damage in the regular game.
the great pyramid trap segment is the only "hard" thing about NG+ and it's not "hard" just scummy, the arrows while shimmying are pretty much unavoidable and whittle you down to the point you get oneshot if you touch an ember. the second time around i didn't get hit by embers and it was smooth sailing to finish the game off from that point onwards. even natla felt like a joke after sinking so much uzi ammo onto Torso.
i know, fren, i was just shitposting
please don't think i was being mean to you on purpose
What changes are there in NG+? I haven't touched it yet because I'm still on TR2.
Remixed enemy layouts
Pierre and Larson ambush you throughout the early levels
Enemies have new attacks
Remixed puzzles (more items + interaction points)
Level layouts changed (Temple of Xian is twice the size, for instance)
Interesting. Do they still give you infinite ammo like when you beat the original TR on the PS1?
Ignore that post, he's lying.
Here's a list of things
https://raidingtheglobe.com/games/core-design/tomb-raider-1-3-remastered/new-game-plus-modes
Ah, okay. So it's just European Extreme mode.
For TR1:
>cheats don't work
>start with all guns, with one pickups worth of ammo (you still lose them in Natla's Mines)
>no medipacks. all medipack pickups are replaced with various kinds of ammo
>enemies have more health
>enemies do more damage
>traps do a lot more damage
>not allowed to save anywhere, have to use crystals to save and fully heal. single use and you have to use them where you find them (same locations as in PSX version)
For TR2:
>start with all guns, with two pickups worth of ammo
>no starter medipacks. medipack pickups are also changed to ammo
>finding all secrets gives you medipacks
>no cheats
>more damage and health on enemies
>more damage on traps
>monks are hostile
>you can save anywhere
For TR3:
>cheats don't work
>start with all weapons, one pickup of each
>more damage and health on enemies
>traps do a lot more damage
>crystals are once again required to save and heal, but you collect them and use them from the inventory whenever you want
>high security compound robs you of your entire inventory including flares, just like in the classic games. you don't get any items back
>all monkeys, Area 51 prisoners, RXTech flamethrowers and Crash Site soldiers are all hostile from the start (high security compounds' are still friendly for obvious reasons)
>>For TR2:
are hostile
this sounds like absolute shit. ill stick to vanilla. what moron thought it would be a good idea to make the already shit combat harder lol
>what moron thought it would be a good idea to make the already shit combat harder lol
The modders they hired to make this, and that's why you don't let them take the lead on design decisions.
filtered
>easy now
You could always save anywhere you wanted on the PC version.
So what's with the cat statues in TR2's secrets?
TR1 secrets were all useful supplies while TR2 just hides collectables for the most part.
yup.
and they're dragons
Each level has 3 dragons, collecting them all gives you ammo, med packs and sometimes weapons.
i dont get it
is there a hint im missing?
yes. some of those tiles are not like the others.
oh for fricks sake
i thought i needed to follow a set pattern based on the red dots near the levers or something
thanks
My favorite thing is finally having combat music in the PC version of TR.
theoretically, what could lara do if you were to give her a bear hug?
shoot you in the face
n-no she can't do that! she can't move her arms!
>REMASTER, REMAKE, PORT, NEW EDITION
>RELOADED, DIRECTOR'S CUT, REIMAGINING
Did anyone seriously manage to figure out THAT jump on Floating Islands without reading a guide?
yes
how long did it take? that's the most bullshit thing I've seen so far and I got softlocked 3 times already
which one? Floater has at least three THAT JUMPs
The one where you won't make it unless you press grab to change your animation to freefall, despite the fact there's nothing to grab onto
or you do a swan dive
that doesnt work either
>two of the jumps i had in mind require you to grab
>the last one requires a swan dive
now i'm even more confused
There's a huge firey area, with a trapdoor
You pull the lever to open the trapdoor, but to make the jump, you have to run, jump and hold grab, which will make her animation switch so that you won't touch the fire even though you aren't grabbing anything
Do you not use grab to prevent Lara from being knocked back from walls?
No, who jumps into walls?
When you need to jump into an opening.
I just line up the jump
Apparently you can actually do a running swan dive which I didn't know because you need to hold the walk key so that makes it bit less bullshit
This is doable in a lot of places throughout the series
TR1 spoiler alert
?t=2943
that's the swan dive one
lol
TR1 came out in 1996. They didn't invent skyboxes until 1997. Please understand.
is the TR1 bugged pick-up fixed yet btw? That's the only TR1 Achievement I'm missing.
No patch yet
The game hasn't been patched a single time yet.
You need a full block to do a running jump.
Seems like even when I backup all the way it's hit or miss on her jumping. Does when I tap jump matter?
you can start holding the jump button as you start running, she will jump at the edge
>he doesn't know how to walk-to-run jump
ngmi
I know how to walk jump, I'm explaining basic jumps to some new to the game.
hold walk, walk to the edge
let go of walk, take one hop backwards
you are now at the perfect length for a running jump
Instead of doing slow steps back, try taking just one "regular speed" step back, it's the exact length for a running jump.
You're supposed to hit jump almost instantly after you start running forward. There's a delay to jumping.
Technically if you start walking forward, let go of walk but keep holding forward and then jump, you can do a running jump with less than a block of running length
Laura Reboot Isnt Lara
Where's the actual interview/source that stated that the Unfinished Business levels were originally supposed to be the Atlantean levels first? Not saying anyone is wrong, I just really want to read the interview.
There isn't any, it's something that cropped up on the forums and the modders ran with it/believed it for some reason, and of course one of them is leading the development on this.
>and of course one of them is leading the development on this
I've heard the old Android/IOS port of Tomb Raider 1 has the current Unfinished Business level order, so it can't just be forum trannies.
What do you gain by lying like this?
And do you have a source for that interview/link to it?
NTA but it's the gold standard site for tomb raider info
https://tombraiders.net/stella/walks/TRUBwalk/03stronghold.html
So you don't.
it's literally the 2nd paragraph in the link, lol
Yes, anon's asking for the source - proof that Phillip Campbell actually said this.
What proof do you want? Do you want a sworn affidavit form Phillip
Yes
Or just
I know about Stella's guide but that's just repetition of what's said on the forums, anon was asking for the original interview source for a reason.

The trick is you HAVE to be at full strength, and we found that in testing 'expert' players tended not to 'top up' their health ( a sign of weakness, using medipacks!) and therefore they tended to get stuck more than the 'fill 'er up' players..."
>"When at full strength, lower Lara down into the hole, and shimmy 'til you are above the closest part of the pyramid ( check the shadow) - then you can drop and slide, and not have a nice day..."
It's almost like this is dogshit game design. But no, it's the players fault for thinking they're in the wrong for taking a mandatory, unavoidable hit to 90% of his health. Let's put this in TR2 and TR3 too!
get trolled
Unless you can softlock the player, it's not dogshit game design, it's being cautious
It is a softlock if you don't have medipacks.
that's a skill issue, restart the levels and try again.
The game gives you a medpack anywhere it expects you to take mandatory damage
There are parts in TR2 where it doesn't
i just played it and i dont think there were
There was more than one but the only one I screenshotted was here since this took about 3/4 of your health, right before the boss too
that's like 25 feet, her thighs would shatter
you can avoid damage from this fall
how?
how? with that speedrunner trick of throwing a flare right as you land?
that only cancels the stumble animation, you still take fall damage
do a roll
This isn't mandatory damage. By fake-grabbing and holding left/right you can hit the slopes at the top acting as a support for the gong.
Name them.
The expansions weren't made by Core Design
Waiting for the next major patch next month.
>every twitter tomb raider argument
>actual woman
>I hate how unfeminine they've made lara
>autogynephilic troon
>wow you just can't play games without thinking about porn constantly can you chud!?
your first mistake was being on twitter expecting intelligent discussion
your second mistake was thinking this place was any better
do you think it would ever be possible for a game to ever have 3D platforming this precise and consistent without using tank controls?
Not without the game helping or comically large geometry, which is how we get shit like that one webm of the jump auto-correcting in midair.
Quake already has 'precise and consistent' platforming without using them
Yes
The precision and the consistency is because the game takes place on a grid and because you can see the collision geometry, there are no invisible hitboxes for platforms, what you see is what you're actually colliding with
tank controls aren't neccessary
I love my wife Lara
Just pirated it, someone like the mod to remove the woke screen
It only shows up one time
I don't care, link it
Link deez nutz
stop being a little b***h
Go die in a fire, troonoids.
Now link the mod
Mod deez nutz
Why haven't you killed yourselves yet if you throw a tantrum all the time over a non-issue?
Now link the mod
No.
Why download a game that had stuff in it that makes you upset?
>if you throw a tantrum all the time over a non-issue
that's exactly what you're doing
get fricked snowflake
don't reply to it, buddies
Ah. Such weakness that you cant even google it. Damn.
How much of a fricking crybaby are you that you need to mod out a disclaimer screen that appears for 0.1 seconds that you don't even read
Like homie just close your eyes lol like just click past it and don't read it lmao
>peekaboo, ignore it and it'll go away
how's that working out
Pretty well actually. Look i will try it with you now.
did it work?
Definetly better for him than for you it seems.
Pathetic trannoids
https://moddinghaven.com/mediawiki/index.php/Tomb_Raider_I-III_Remastered_mods/Less_Legalese_and_No_Trigger_Warning
holly shit thanks I almost had a mental breakdown when I saw the text.
I can believe it
>i am weak and must play the game even though 3 seconds has scared me for life and i need a mod to avoid it.
Have fun baby.
Here, link in pic so jannies can't automatically delete my post.
You don't need a mod. Put -nolegal in the launch arguments.
Dont tell him that. He is too stupid to use google.
He's not interested in the mod or the trick to remove it he's only trying to kill the thread. But the only thing he does is bumping it because he's a chudcel.
Deep six comes from being buried six feet in the ground.
angel of darkness... the early 2000s... soul... home......................
more like shit game with moronic edgy Lara
*pokes you in the eye*
stop
True kek, I wonder why so many games turned edgy and fell off right near the same time.
Can't wait for the Brutal Tomb Raider mod where there's tons of gore.
