>too stupid to implement an alignment system
>too stupid to create any sort of map that's not a tropical beach copypasted from D:OS1
>too stupid to write an original story that's not just D:OS2 (D&D edition)
>too stupid not to have to scrap 1/2 of their game before launch and leave in just the D:OS-like bits
How can a company where everyone has double-digit IQ's even stay afloat?
CRIME Shirt $21.68 |
Because all the other companies have people with single digit IQs
>he thinks its stupidity and not agenda limitations
classic
>they cut daisy
>too stupid to implement an alignment system
Literally doesn't exist in the D&D rules any more
why do they want to use dnd anyway
just makes your own shit and ignore the historical hangups
Money
>why do they want to use dnd anyway
The games name is literally a city in D&D
Baldurs Gate (the IP) is property of WOTC (owners of DnD).
It's really that simple bwo.
>too smart to implement RTwP
Fixed that for you. RTwP doesn't suddenly become good just because it's not the current preferred mode of play you disgusting contrarians. Get an opinion that isn't just the opposite of something else that people like for once.
They literally stated that they found RTwP 'confusing', meaning that they are both stupid and weebs.
Probably confused why homosexual morons like you cry about it so much
>Preferring turn based combat in a CRPG makes you a weeb
What the frick am I reading
TB combat has been outdated since Diablo 1, at least for RPG's that focus on melee. RTwP is just a straight upgrade and the only reason why someone would ignore that is an unhealthy love of Japan.
>RTwP is just a straight upgrade
Yeah, this is a real upgrade. This is really good combat.
lmfao, RTWP sucks soooooo baddddddddddddddd
owlcat fans are actually insane
>bg2 is considered one of the best CRPGs of all time
>it's RTWP
Nothing to do with owlcat fans, in fact its the opposite.
Fans wanted turn based so badly they implented it in kingmaker after release, and made sure WOTR had it to begin with.
do people play WoTR with turn based combat always on? this shit is unplayable with the amount of trash mods the game throws at you
>at least for RPG's that focus on melee
Fricking moron, TB is vastly superior for tactical melee because tight positioning is much more important and with RTP it's just uncontrollable
Excellent post, redditsister! Epic, if I may be so bold sir, kind sir, kind stranger, pretty epic bacon indeed, oh my! This guy baldurs gates! The narwhal bacons at midnight!
Still goty tho, makes you wonder
Games sure are shit now
Bro they literally changed the standards of gaming forever
I'm excited to watch all the copycats crash and burn. BG3 will remain a mid RPG and will be remembered as fondly as Diablo 4.
Baldur's Gate is not GOTY. Not even close. It's a piece of shit. Can't wait for Todd Howard to take a dump on your shitstain homosexual game.
>Todd Howard
You missed some of his cum, its still stuck to the side of your lips
>all female characters are le strong woman
>all male characters are le dumb man
>strongest woman is actually a troony
Good times.
>strongest woman is actually a troony
Who?
Probably someone with 50IQ who unironically took the Ganker fake bait article shitposting about Minthara being facescanned from a man and voiced by a man (she is neither) seriously.
Minthara
She's a biological female that even had a pregnancy end state before Larian fricked up and rushed the game out without completing her storyline.
>Women can't be trannies
Real interesting perspective there
So now you're saying Minthara is a female to male troony? What the frick is this cope? Just admit your moronic shitposting made no sense and move on.
I never said she was mtf or ftm. Very low IQ of you to make these assumptions
>we will never ever have a game with where we impregnate a love interest part way through
WE WERE SO CLOSE
Literally Baldur's Gate 2 with Aerie, bro. She even gives birth and carries the babby in her inventory for the rest of the expansion in Throne of Bhaal. The precedent comes from the same damn series.
i forgot about that
MODERN GAME THEN
>the one character that the detractors tried to focus on with troony propaganda is the one which had a pregnancy route, the one thing a troony can never have
They could have picked anyone else and they picked Minthara, talk about a shazamposter blunder.
I do think it's funny they just reversed the roles from DA:O
The witch is now a wizard
The big strong butthole is now a frog
The alcoholic redheaded dwarf is now a red-skinned giant woman
The evil knight guy is an evil drow gal
The gay elf rogue is a gay elf rogue... ok that one is fine.
The good boy paladin is now a bad b***h cleric
Amusingly, if they gender swapped the characters they'd be much more interesting
Yep.
But if just Astarion was a chick I'd be happy.
Gale being a chick is the only one I don't like.
DoS2 with better graphics = GOTYAY, forever changed the standards of gaming, greatest game of all time
It’s no different than any isometric rpg lmao, it has set no standards or records
Not stupid they just spent it all on marketing, which worked for now. It has no legs and bg4 might as well not be made but still it was smart for one game
theres no alignment system because its 5e stupid moron
Because WotC are morons, moron . Any system not endorsed by GG is fan fictions
I think at the very least they should have had an option to rest until night or something if they didnt want to do a day night cycle. Thoughts?
I honestly like the way they handled it where night only falls once you're ready to end the day. I like abstractions like that in video games. If time passed the entire time that you were playing the game the mind flayer parasite plot would come across even sillier than it already does.
A good balance would have been long rest always forcing you to night but your two short rests changing the time from like morning to afternoon to evening, then the long rest will always be night afterwards anyway. Would add more strategy to using short rests.
Ooh, I like that.
>3 weeks later, still seething
>3 weeks later, still trying to rationalize why you're actually right and everyone else is wrong
>RTwP good
lol
Yes, it's a combat mode that's ideally suited to CRPG games. Turn-based is an awkward, useless carry-over from pen & paper that should not even exist nowadays.
go back to /vr/
Why have faux-turns in RTwP? Why do people still want to have turns, but not be turn based, but also have it be real time? Its the awkward middle child. Either go full real time like Divine Divinity or Diablo, or go full turn based.
I assume people don't like turn based because it's slow
Because it means not having to command your party in every fricking fight which gets tedious.
BG3 keeps the tedium down by restricting you to 4 party members.
I just find it funny that every hall of fame CRPG is RTWP yet people incessantly b***h about it on this board.
>I just find it funny that every hall of fame
maybe if you listen to sawyer or some other irrelevant cuck
>anon pretends to be moronic
nobody cares about ur boomer RTwP garbage, even original D:OS mogs all of them hard
I wonder if they are hall of fame for their characters, world/setting, quests and writing and not their combat...
Oh yeah, because everyone is talking about how good the combat in BG3 is and not about having sex with the companions.
You can't reason with coomers, but its literally like fade to black like <30 second scenes.
Because if you take out the turns the whole system falls apart since most rtwp games are just direct ports of turn based ttrpgs.
Most but not all. Look at Pillars 1 and 2, a handcrafted system that falls into the same pitfalls. Also why do we even need a party in a CRPG? Underrail does fine, Fallout did fine. Divine Divinity style CRPG still has a spot IMO
>Also why do we even need a party in a CRPG? Underrail does fine
you really have to be baiting for (You)s at this point
Fallout has party, also has shit combat.
KYS moron
Then let that system die and let me enjoy playing the game.
>too stupid to implement RTwP
stopped reading here cause you're clearly a moron if you want RTwP over turn-BASED
>RTWP is good
>day/night cycle is good
No, go back to Bethesda slop
RTwP is the absolute worst combat system possible, and I'm glad that a maker of a crpg finally acknowledged that
Maybe I'm just outing myself as a scrub by saying this, but I think the combat in this game would be a lot harder to manage if they went with real-time with pause instead of keeping it turn-based.
On the one hand, I have hated every real-time with pause game I have tried to play on PC since 2011.
On the other hand, I frickin' love DA:O and KOTOR isn't half bad either.
BioWare clearly did something right that games like Pillars and Torment: Tides of Whatever get wrong.
The only RTwP game I've played was KOTOR, and I agree it worked perfectly there. I just don't think it would work nearly as well in this game considering how crucial positioning and environmental hazards (read: bottomless pits) are during combat.
>Torment is turn based you fricking homosexual
>Shows exactly the level of awareness of turnbasedcucks
>What's wrong with Pillars huh?
>Forget I ask turnbased cucks haven't ever played anything other than their brain dead shit
>why do you type like this
>there is no reason your post should have meme arrows
Anyway, yeah I was wrong about Torment. I thought for sure it was, but I had only played one combat encounter before I quit. I played it on PC game pass right after The Outer Worlds came out. My bad.
Did they at least fix it so you can't just lock NPCs into a conversation while your other party members can walk behind them and pickpocket?
>Stupid
B R O K E N

>OP
>too stupid to mod his headcanon mechanics into game
a you problem
>a company other than ID does a new Quake game
>it actually looks and plays like Half Life because that's what's popular and frick Quake, amirite, lol
This is what you sound like.
>How can a company where everyone has double-digit IQ's even stay afloat?
By catering to the singular digit audience that think 5e DnD is the most complex and revolutionary system in all of existance.
>co-op is treated as everyone else following one guy, the mc
>missed opportunity to make everyone fight each other like morons at the end to try to control the brain
would have been a kino co-op end
Why would you want RTWP when it's strictly worse than a turn based system?
>Lae'zel has a permanent stat debuff because of a fricking 30 DC speech check (at level fricking 6) I couldn't pass
>I didn't notice until 20+ hours later because the game doesn't tell you. I simply found out while scrolling through my party's stats
>there's no way to remove the debuff.
>Even with shit that SHOULD remove it both lorewise and gameplaywise (Greater Restoration)
Defend this bullshit. Give me one fricking reason I shouldn't open cheat engine and fix her stats.
How about you play a fricking game instead of wanking over stats.
How about you TELL me when you cripple my characters?
How about you let the spells actually WORK like they do in the pen and paper, the previous games, the lore, and every other fricking dnd game? Why have you arbitrarily nerfed the function of a spell so that you can frick over my companions?
It's a permanent stat debuff, anon
>It's a permanent stat debuff, anon
There are a few "permanent" buffs that drop when you die-die, like Loviatar's Love.
I didn't die all game and that buff stayed on me to the very end, it was so based
Kill her and have Withers rez her
I'm playing DOS 1 but I don't know if I should put an AI for my companion, I don't really get this system. Any idea?
RTWP is fricking garbage, that's all.
Tomorrow lads.
Lets hope this includes proper endings.
