Based on their hands, the pages are relatively healthy compared to most people in the Lands Between. The pages also had to actually be good fighters to protect the lazy nobles they initially worked for. The Depraved Perfumers are the crack addicts, hence why their clothing is so frazzled and they're said to use their perfumes for their own use while working in unethical ways.
They're pages, young servants of lords. But for whatever reason they made them deal insane damage. Perhaps knights were harder in earlier builds
Also their bolts >Bolts actually get buffed by the perfumer talisman >The only way to get them is to farm them.
Whats worse than the none respawning rare consumables are all the ammo types you can't craft, that are all better than what you craft and only drop from enemies.
Nobody really cares because the only ranged worth a damn is Jar Canon and the Pulley Crossbow, with all their best ammo being available via merchant. But it's really really bad.
For Great Bow ammo you have Golem Great Arrows that deal insane knock back like the craftable stormhawk arrows but have to be farmed. For magic damage you need the magic version of such arrows
These things are impossible to farm for no apparent reason.
For bows you have a bunch of shit like ghost flame arrows with high frost build up you have to farm, serpent arrows with poison build up you have to farm, dwellings arrows with magic build up you have to farm. It's completely fricking moronic and the only explanation I can gather is they wanted to justify the crafting arrows but throw in arrows they had designed that are better.
>want to make a perfumer cosplay build >most perfume items suck absolute dick >need to use materials to craft >1 (uno) uses before having to go rest at a grace site >the perfumer talisman doesn't even work with half the recipes
Holy fricking shit frick no
Perfuming viability also comes way too late in the game. You see a Depraved Perfumer in the Albinauric village in an early game area, would've been the perfect time to allow people to start. Arteria Leaves also don't respawn and are only dropped by a variant of enemy that while easy to kill has too much health.
Elden Ring has some of the weirdest non respawning reagents.
I get SOME of the logic for it. Most things Arteria leaves produce are really powerful.
25% physical damage boost or a longer lasting 35% damage boost with an increased damage down side. Ironjar seems to be as useful as the pyromancey was in pre-nerf DaS and uplifting perfume is a repeatable bubble.
But holy frick >St. Trina lilies are plentiful but non-respawning >Sleep fricks over some boss fights but is a weaker Madness all together. >The lilies are common enough that you aren't in danger of over-using them in PVE >Continued use in PVP endgame becomes unsustainable so people dupe them
Rather than just forcing you to farm jellyfish why didn't they just give you an endgame bell barring?
>Golden centipedes are among the rarest materials in the game. >The Golden Order Pot is less useful than the Holy Water Pot by having a weaker anti-undead bonus >The centipede is always better off being used on rejuv boluses, which seemingly justify the centipede
I feel like this one was a last minute switch. Someone wanted to be an butthole and remove easy access to Boluses to in effort to make Deathblight situations worse resulting in the Golden Order Pot being useless, aside from its already strange feeblness compared to Holy Water.
>Eye Holes
This one pisses me off the most. Its used in the only cure for madness, a mostly PVP effect, but also used in a meat that increases sleep and madess resistance.
It is rarer than Miquella Butterflies meaning the dappled recipes are objectively superior from a PVE standpoint. It's 90% a pvpers issue so why the frick did they make this one non-respawning?
I almost forgot >String >Cucks all roped jar varients into being unusable without duping
??? >Miquella's Lillie >Makes a useless item
???? >Sacramental Bud
This one SORT of makes sense if it wasn't for the fact that most builds will have access to fire cleanse me, if only to make rot a greater threat.
They should have gotten a respawn area in locations after rot was a major issue though.

I've played the game so many times and the only things I have ever crafted are normal bone darts and rowa raisins on my first playthroufh
If the consumable isn't available in unlimited supply from a shop it might as well not exist
Honestly a lot of those offensive perfumes would have worked better as a sort of FP-consuming item like the omen bairn or ancestor head that you could mix like a physick. Unfortunately all of those items are absolutely worthless and do no damage for some reason
I gave crafting a chance in my latest playthrough but the only thing that doesn't require a finnicky item is weapon buffs which I can get for free by casting
Yes but they're an unlockable slot and you get like 3-4 of them early on.
I would've used alot more jars if they worked more like witcher potions where resting would give you them back, I really couldn't care about niche use cases. I suspect they didn't do this because it could involve some clunky menus. I wonder how many people didn't want to use them because they thought the cracked pots would dissapear when used, which is a totally normal thing to think

these homies were hard? dont even remember them
They don't really filter you from doing anything/going anywhere they just have an abnormal damage to stature output that can catch you off guard
>I would've used alot more jars if they worked more like witcher potions where resting would give you them back
that would make them stupid OP, imagine having 10 freeze pots, 10 sleep pots, 10 rot pots, 10 oil pots, 10 poison pots at all times
you'd be able to cheese any boss
They're not listed as an ingredient. It takes all of 5 seconds to realize how they work I highly doubt people would frick it up. >I wish they would auto restore
It takes like 2 seconds to restock on jars if you know what you want.
there is not a single soul who even bothered with perfumes and didn't look it up later to realize it was an alternate variant of the physick flask
why is fromsoft design so moronic
i definitely crafted a lot of perfumes on my playthrough but i forgot which ones
all i remember is that there was a time period where i was trying to farm materials for them
nowhere near as bad as these motherfrickers with the triple exploding bolt crossbows
Crazy how random 14 year old boys out threaten most knights.
seriously why was their damage so fricking amped up? crackheads or something??? doesnt explain the bolts

I prefer being chased by raptors in ARK Survival Evolved.

A meme youtube proved how difficult and pointless the perfumer talismin is.
A jar build is viable, Perfumes for damage aren't.
I would not consider The three buff Perfumes useless though.
I hope the DLC adds a lot of worthwhile perfumes that are buffed by the talisman, as well as a few more perfume bottles for good measure.
Perfuming viability also comes way too late in the game. You see a Depraved Perfumer in the Albinauric village in an early game area, would've been the perfect time to allow people to start. boiled crab (infinite)
all you need
>but what about
didnt beat the game
>Blackguard sells you a limited amount

Fixed it.

Jars are all around very good.
I was under the impression you need cracked pots for that
Yes but they're an unlockable slot and you get like 3-4 of them early on.
The throwing pots use both Cracked Pots and Ritual Pots, so you can have quite a few of those.
I think he doesn't get that those are like a memory stone, or perfume bottle. They're a capacity upgrade and not an ingredient.
It states that the jars are magic and return to the user repaired after use.
I would've used alot more jars if they worked more like witcher potions where resting would give you them back, I really couldn't care about niche use cases. The descriptions for the Cracked Pots and Ritual Pots note that they repair themselves through enchantments.

the perfume that gives you a bubble shield is insanely good against malenia's instakill attacks
