I don't really think you can say that just because the Simpsons failed to survive the passage of time that everything will. Especially because a television show that is serialized like that takes much less time to make than a game, so if you consider a game an entire season of television, the Zelda series is quite low in entries compared to the Simpsons thus has been effected by less entropic force by the sheer nature of repetition.
