i downloaded this game fricked around a bit and activated all of the towers that unlock map and after 20 hours or so i don't really feel like playing it and it's not like i've even played BOTK before

ftfy, nobody gives a shit about this game elsewhere anymore and the primary driver for fans on Ganker seems to be "heckin owning the snoys" (because everyone who says mean things about Switch related stuff must be a Sony fanboy). TotK's relevancy died out WAY faster than BotW's, especially outside of Ganker, and that's a goddamn FACT.

I've never allowed a fanbase to make me hate games, but the Zelda fanbase is making it really hard to enjoy Zelda games now. They're on the level of circlejerk as Marvelgays and Rockstar dickriders. They have such little to no standards with the series they love that they'll give a fricking asset flip a pass and its obvious that Nintendo will abandon good item design, fun characters, memorable dungeons, and stellar music all together and continue this trend of soulless, horribly voice-acted, boring open-world bullshit. And the fans won't even give a second thought because "O, my Zelda legacy"
The old games are still plenty enjoyable. Wildgays/Switchgays are a sufficiently distinctive fanbase since the games are so heavily divorced from classic Zelda and most of them had never played a Zelda/Nintendo game before the Switch (though some love to claim that they totally got their start with Zelda 1 and that the Wild games are "the ultimate Zelda games" or "the games I've been waiting for").
The Switch brought in a ton of fairweather/new Nintendo fans who, for some reason, are overwhelmingly some of the most displeasurable and dishonest people in vidya to talk with. For another example of what I mean: Paper Mario's discourse never had notable blowback against fans of the old games with Tanabe taking the reins of the series, until a Paper Mario game was shown off for Switch that immediately showed that Tanabe was again not taking feedback from old fans into consideration. Switchgays jumped to its defense and began browbeating classicgays whenever they would say "boo" to The Origami King.

The irony is the switch brought in a ton of them as that's where all the weeb games went and they are very likely the ones screaming snoy at everybody while many older nintendo fans are becoming disillusioned and disappointed with the way nintendo is going.
