I hope Morbi is doing fine. If there ever was an internet creation which had the potential to be a mainstream sensation while retaining artistic quality, it was Poppy.
>Crash 4 was actually really good
I actually agree with you even though this is heresy on Ganker. Still, I wouldn't want a Toys for Bob Banjo game. BK skews more toward collectathon than Crash does, and the collecting (hidden crates everywhere) was the worst part of Crash 4 and one of the main reasons it is so maligned.
They have experience with collectathons from working on Spyro.
Although they were just remaking the games, but hopefully some of the design philosophy rubbed off on them
why though
Crash 4 was great despite all the b***hing about woke hair and hidden boxes

literally the worst game to 100% and if you just any% it's too easy. crash/coco levels were also the only good ones the rest were shit.
toys for bob is also really hit or miss with their character designs ranging from this is fine to terrible especially in spyro where the majority designs are terrible unless you're homosexual

the spyro ones were trash but the crash 4 designs look good to me

people complain about tawna but my biggest gripe is with dingodile
you can just tell it's made by the gay bara furry who designed most of the dragons in the spyro remake
it's just kinda feels disgusting every time you see him wobbling around and you know the truth
they also gave him a vacuum instead of a flame thrower just like they removed guns in spyro

Worse is what they did to Cortex with the fricking transforming gun instead of an actual fricking laser that he uses in that fricking game.

cortex has a gun in his levels though
the devs probably just thought a vacuum would be more interesting mechanically

A flamethrower would be basically the same in terms of gameplay function, it's purely a creative decision. >attack, fire instead of suck, still shreds things >fire ball shot instead of box shots, still a projectile attack only it isn't situational >fire hover instead of vacuum hover, breaks box as you go over them
The vacuum doesn't even make sense thematically or narratively, why when opening a diner, would Dingodile trade out his flame thrower for a fricking vacuum cleaner?
Also, why give Dingodile a spin? I thought his fight in Warped made it abundantly clear that this guy is terrible at fighting up close because whenever Crash closes the distance between them he kicks the living shit out of Dingodile.

as someone who was obsessed with crash the year the first game came out (blessed sister picking it out), i really love these designs. i wish the game performed better, these designs are basically perfect.... except tawna.
but, and i know im the minority, the almost mad max/late 80s/early 90s "alternate" badass trope she has going on is amusing to me. reminds me of cheesy late 80s cartoons and movies. which works because alternate tawna. but it's soured by knowing they did it all just because of MODERN SENSIBILITIES.
OG crash will never be topped, but besides twinsanity crash (design-wise), this is my absolute favorite
also that same sister of mine picked out Spyro randomly. i never considered how fortunate i am my sister and mom who knew nothing of games picked out Crash 1 and Spyro 1 as the main games I had for psx.

they shrunk her nose, she has a weird tiny cat nose now
is it so much to ask for my female love interests to have big honking cartoon schnozzes

The artists TFB hired got her design wrong. Coco & the Trophy girls have small muzzles. Tawna, being the "Stacy" of the bunch, is supposed to have the Alpha muzzle.

The issue with nu-Tawna was that she wasn't even liked by the people who made her. If they liked that design, why exactly is it Tawna and not a new character? Because it was never about making a fun character to make a game better. It was about "Fixing" something that wasn't broken and sticking to those heckin evil gamers. They can't even try to sell their character without the angle that it's "fixing" something and implying that you HAVE to like it or else you're some kind of bigot. It's utterly pathetic. If you can't even be confident about your characters you can't be shocked when no one else likes them. The redesign is flawed on a fundamental level because of that.
That would be such a monkey paw. The characters in the Spyro remake are some of the most hideous in the history of gaming. I would hate to see them butcher the Banjo cast the same way.
well yeah no shit microsoft already outsources like almighty hell through non-union contractors and pajeets, they have a better chance of actually staying all native with remote work than they do with office drudgery
obviously they're fricked no matter what, they're owned by microsoft, but still
A near/complete remote game studio sounds depressing. Being in the room with artists and developers, learning new techniques or software together to me is the whole point of having a career in games. Now it’s just like any other bland office job you want to escape from.
Yes and its one of the only office jobs where I appreciate an open office since coordinating different teams is your biggest tripping point as soon as there's more than one person making the game.
>lost approximately 41% of their staff >but they totally called the shots and got special treatment in deciding to go remote
I can only envy your optimism anon.
Is that supposed to sound good? How does a company function when every employee is going to be working without any interaction outside of some video call?
Very well if what they're doing is, you know, majority programming, music composition, art, all the things that go into a video game. You don't actually need some fat homosexual in a blue-collar shirt and tie leering over your shoulder to make sure you're doing that.
COVID forcing WFH to become available is one of the biggest moves forward in the office sector in decades, people have been joking and complaining about how fricking unnecessary most clerical work is for centuries
I worked in game dev and I was cranking out shit much faster when I had a secluded desk and or worked from home. the time I was next to a producer was when I was the least productive
You guys are not going to want to hear it but the best way for Toys for Bob to get within Phil's good graces is to simply continue working on Rumble because as of now they're not only smaller and have to make a sudden transition to working remotely but they've practically put all of their resources into this game when not being on standby for COD support. Rumble is also small enough as is so improving it by adding an offline single player campaign, releasing a Switch/PC port, actually advertising the damn thing, and eventually making it f2p is a low-risk starting point that they can gain momentum on in as opposed to scrapping everything and starting a new project from scratch.
I can get autistically collecting things, I really can. But I just don't see why anyone buys funko pops. Of all the things, they're just the most boring, soulless junk to collect.
Sounds fake
WOAH!
I hope Morbi is doing fine. If there ever was an internet creation which had the potential to be a mainstream sensation while retaining artistic quality, it was Poppy.
Is this a bot post? What the actual frick are you talking about
I'm talking about the author of that drawing.
Crasheta Bandicú

>new projects in the works
what are they gonna do now
New Spyro game
Crash 5
That or Banjo. Which would make sense since they are putting their games on Nintendo Switch.
there's a rumor going around that they're making a Banjo-Kazooie game
>toys for bob banjo kazooie
thanks i already hate it
why? Crash 4 was actually really good
at killing the general public's interest around the franchise? Absolutely!
>Crash 4 was actually really good

I dont know who could actually pull off a modern banjo now. the whole industry is fricked
yeah, i know banjofans are desperate for a new game but i dont want one if its gonna be by these frickers.

Wow. You just ruined my day.
That would be such a monkey paw. The characters in the Spyro remake are some of the most hideous in the history of gaming. I would hate to see them butcher the Banjo cast the same way.
They can't frick it up any more than Rare already did themselves.
Careful. They might take that as a challenge.
How can it be Toys for Bob when Bob is no longer the big boss
Give me Unholy War 2 you fricks
>going fully remote
paid to goon and or shitpost on vee?
>fully remote
>new project
it's fricking over guys.
fully remote is code for slow death and outsourcing.
well yeah no shit microsoft already outsources like almighty hell through non-union contractors and pajeets, they have a better chance of actually staying all native with remote work than they do with office drudgery

thats some sad news
OH NO NO NO NO NO
BUT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PHIL'S FAULT
A near/complete remote game studio sounds depressing. Being in the room with artists and developers, learning new techniques or software together to me is the whole point of having a career in games. Now it’s just like any other bland office job you want to escape from.
Jobs aren't supposed to be daycare centers for adults.
Have you ever actually worked in a game studio?
Yes and its one of the only office jobs where I appreciate an open office since coordinating different teams is your biggest tripping point as soon as there's more than one person making the game.
Spoken like someone that's never worked in one. I left to freelance from home over that shit.
>this is what open office advocates actually believe
JUST. REMAKE. TWINSANITY.
THATS ALL IM ASKING FOR.
just play the original
Lost 36 out of 86. That's almost half their team. They may not be dead now but they aren't going to live long unless the next game is a mega hit.
It was probably the mobile team that made that recent Crash game that no one wanted that got let go.
Even Microsoft said it is too expensive to rent space for working?
What wrong with California ?
>lost approximately 41% of their staff
>but they totally called the shots and got special treatment in deciding to go remote
I can only envy your optimism anon.
>lost approximately 41% of their staff
Curious number of staff to just lose overnight.
No Star Control then I don't care
>toys for bob
gayest fricking company name ive ever heard
>dad walks in
I'd rather give Banjo to Double Fine that have it be touched by TFB
Remote work isn’t work. Just leeching an overplayed salary and working 10 hours a week at most.
Is that supposed to sound good? How does a company function when every employee is going to be working without any interaction outside of some video call?
Very well if what they're doing is, you know, majority programming, music composition, art, all the things that go into a video game. You don't actually need some fat homosexual in a blue-collar shirt and tie leering over your shoulder to make sure you're doing that.
watch psychodyssey, productivity actually improved after everybody went to work from home
COVID forcing WFH to become available is one of the biggest moves forward in the office sector in decades, people have been joking and complaining about how fricking unnecessary most clerical work is for centuries
If you are a functional worker you dont need some idiot breathing down your neck every 15 minutes.
Only lazy people say this. No one is buying your crap anymore and you can’t use memevirus as an excuse now.
I worked in game dev and I was cranking out shit much faster when I had a secluded desk and or worked from home. the time I was next to a producer was when I was the least productive
So, was it true TFB was making Cod skins?
Apart from the new=bad posters, what did Ganker think of Crash 4 overall?
breaks from the action too many times for comfort but it's a solid first try
>going full remote
Based, only for that im gonna buy their next game.
Phil is going to let them make another small crash game but on a low budget and if that fails then they're dead.
You guys are not going to want to hear it but the best way for Toys for Bob to get within Phil's good graces is to simply continue working on Rumble because as of now they're not only smaller and have to make a sudden transition to working remotely but they've practically put all of their resources into this game when not being on standby for COD support. who the frick is bob
he's who the toys are for.
Cool. Put nitro fueled on PC.
did they get rid of all the feminists and homosexuals?
>fully remote
I will now apply for a job at your dev studio
This "update" came from a random youtuber.
I can get autistically collecting things, I really can. But I just don't see why anyone buys funko pops. Of all the things, they're just the most boring, soulless junk to collect.
trans for bob
Take that back right now or I will spin around in a 360 degree motion and send you flying into another anon
when I was a kid I used to do the crash dance all the time even though it annoyed my siblings
