I've been considering playing this, but I've read that it's a sequel.
Would it be a bad idea to play this without playing any other Legend of Heroes game before?

>But you could also go all the way from the start - Trails in The Sky FC - which is the first game in the first subseries. And if you did that you’d get things that you otherwise wouldn’t if you just started from Zero.
The only thing he sorta wouldn't get is the Brights hijacking the climax of Zero from the SSS from their own introductory game (redundant since the Brights had this exact same "I got you!" scene at the end of Sky the 3rd). Ie he's not missing anything of importance. There is no reason to drop $600 and spend 1,000+ hours playing this eleven game long series in order as the overarching story never amounts to anything. The war narrative amounted to a wet fart and the Ouroboros story is still a nothingburger. Why play the games in order? So you can see the same memberberry characters appear from game to game like you're playing through some $600 videogame version of the MCU? No. Only play each individual game that appeals to you on its own merits.
Every trails game is excellent. Start wherever you want.
>Every trails game is excellent
>the ENTIRE GAME is bad because nobody died in a nuke
What general takes all troops from a fortress for no reason, just so the writers of the game can justify no one dying in a nuke?
when you get through the 50th big conflict only for it to end in "and nobody got hurt and everyone was a good guy and everyone was just holding back haha" same as the previous 49, you have to draw a line in the sand, man.
Or you just accept that the series is idealistic shonen.
>if there's a niche for it and name to label it, it's allowed to be shit
fighting shonen ruined entire generations of men
aka, not "excellent," but dogshit low effort, no budget trash.
I have the opportunity to get it in a sale. If i shpuld get the rest of the games of the series to understand the story, maybe i'll go for another rpg.
It's not really a series you can start at any game you want
the entire appeal of the series is playing all of them it's not really a series where you can just jump in wherever like most other jrpg series, i'd say avoid it if that doesn't sound appealing to you
Yes, it's a horrible idea to the point that I'm fairly certain that this is a troll post.
>ironic weebs and westoids continue to seethe over Kiseki the GOD JRPG
Haha...
Ironic weebs are the ones who like this absolute sloppa instead of real JRPGs, haha...
> real JRPGs
Like FF16 amirite? such a "real" jrpg
Azure is a charming game.
The world must know that I like the game, and this is the place to do it.
Jobber game
maybe form your own opinions after playing the games, starting with the ones that look interesting to you, instead of being a robot
yes, i would play every trails game before this one, except alternative saga
I have played a few of the trails series and honestly, unless they are a direct sequel, they are all pretty stand alone tittles.
Sure, you might catch a reference or a recurrent character or two if you had played the prequels, but it's usually very minor thing's. Just play whatever is the most convenient for you
Sorta disagree for crossbell specifically not knowing shit about Renne and the Brights would make a good chunk of Zero rather confusing . The other subseries are a lot more independent until you get to the latter games in them, but like .. if you’re playing Hajimari you should be invested enough to go play all of them so whatever
