It would be a solid 9/10 if it wasn't for the fricking backrooms being in it. Combat is fun as frick even with the OP slide.

the demo was melting my toaster. is the performance better now?
I have a 1660 6GB and a Ryzen 5 @3600 and the demo worked fine for me. What kind of steam powered PC do you have.
2gb r9 380
Oof.
>2gb r9 380
>All settings set to the absolute lowest, about 50-60fps on an Intel HD 630 (when not recording). Looks kind of like Quake 1. Nearby shadows are still intact so stealth gameplay is still possible.
>the fricking backrooms being in it
seriously what were they thinking, it was so out of place
The worst part was that the initial setup for the mission was fricking great. I was hooked until I saw that first piece of intel.
>spoiler
Huh?
>enter soviet-era facility taken over by evil corpo
>something clearly wrong from the moment you enter
>PA giving weird announcements
>smoke monster grabs you
>wake up in picrel
Huh, is it as forced as it looks?
Not at all, it's actually quite fun
You get through it fairly quick but it really fricks up the atmosphere that had been established up until that point.
The game basically feels like FEAR in the world of SCP. For the game it's not out of place, but it's creatively bankrupt, and cheap to put le backrooms into the game.
>FEAR in the world of SCP
Well as homosexual as SCP can be sometimes I still love it, so that just sold it for me.
Don't get me wrong the game is fun as frick, and in my opinion mechanically better than FEAR, but fails to emulate the same level of environmental destruction. Game is good is what I'm saying, but is flawed
>fails to emulate the same level of environmental destruction.
Has anything ever emulated that successfully?
Trepang does alright. hell even miles ahead of most other games on the market. just not as much as F.E.A.R.
No honestly I don't know any other games save Red Faction Guerilla. FEAR was so ahead of its time.
Carmaggedon Reincarnation
They wanted to appeal to zoomers and streamers. It's a marketing decision.
+ it took probably one hour at best to make
>Imagine getting mad at easter egg
who are you quoting?
That's not how easter eggs work.
I'm talking about the version where you get teleported there during the underground lab raid, it kills all tension.
>easter egg
it's a full on mission anon. the original easter egg was a lil hole in the wall area in HQ.
Poor man's imitation FEAR, I hit the refund button once the acid zombies showed up.
>plot is literally the exact same as fear just with character names swapped
Wow indie games so great
>Playing FPS for the story
>plot is literally the exact same as fear
Did you play either of the games or are you just moronic?
I played through the demo to the offices and got tired of the black rooms. Is the rest of the game brighter? The flashlight is so fricking balls and the lighting design was done by the worst genelet of all time, low light doesn't mean pitch black if you have functioning human eyes.
up the gamma the game is dark as shit
Is it true the campaign is just over 2 hours? And does the vector still have a massive spread and shit damage?
You get main missions, and side-missions. Doing them all is like around 4-6hrs. If you do just the main missions then ye. The full game is about the same time as FEAR. I think the game would benefit though from DLC expanding the campaign.
I knew that was coming and I didn't think I'd mind, but holy frick I minded. Completely wasted an amazing set up for a mission.
I really like FEAR and I give it a 7, Its really short, most side missions are shitty horde modes and the bullet time bar should recharge between encounters
