Any faction that has Royal Peltasts is a good faction in MP
But I don't know why people don't just use Kush, your average player can't deal with being at a missile disadvantage for some reason and Kush is the Akimbo 1887s of Rome 2 in the sense that they're braindead to play but the people who play them often lose to good players
Which none of you are so it doesn't matter

Whenever I read divide et impera updated I download it again, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I stop after a few turns because I realize in the end I am still playing Rome 2 and all the design flaws turn me off. The tacked on family and political system, the shitty diplomacy, the awful models, the uninspired tech tree, the boring maps, the interface in general, etc.
It's just overwhelming and I just can't enjoy it regardless of all the great work the modders put into it.
Now, with Attila I can get it going for longer but the problem with it is that most Attila mods feel incomplete.
Finally. Look at this, this intro montage is pure, undistilled kino.
Their voice acting, this cinematography effortlessly oozes soul without the need for modern tech. This is how it was before everything was tainted. This was before humanity lost its way and doesn't know how to make games anymore.
Am I the only weirdo who prefers Medieval? Campaign mode in that game was precisely what I wanted - a Risk style presentation to give context to battles. I think addition of movements points was a waste,
I too liked medieval over at least rome 1 and medieval II, mostly because of the way movement worked meant you could set up 1 turn Nani the frick invasions on the Levantine coast or turn your six star assassin into James fricking bond by having hum travel the world in single turns to assassinate people without failure.
That, and the way units worked in engaging/disengaging meant you could literally hold a castle with two strong boys and diligent kiting against several hundred men.
I probably like shogun II or the forbidden one nobody likes the most though. The former because it requires a highly aggressive play style compared to the others and the latter because I’m part israelite and trade is very important in it. Plus you have all the fetching pre-camo uniforms
the greatest victory music in any video game ever
>tfw the best Total War menu theme is in arguably the worst game
Picking any house other than Julii is a sin punishable by crucifixion.
For me, it's Europa Barbarorum
for me it's fricking up randoms with meme armies in Rome 2
Why would anyone use Egypt on pvp tho its even more meme than yours

You're literally fighting the same dude over and over because no one else plays Rome 2.
Rome 2 literally killed the series, it's been ten years and it only gets worse

In hindsight Total War series never really recovered from the engine change in Empire. Still, to this day, there's baggage CA apparently cannot fix.
>Still, to this day, there's baggage CA apparently cannot fix.
because any programmer worth anything probably left by now.
PHALANGITAI

Which roman faction did you pick first?
Romans are red, so yeah
You just posted them.
I think everyone picked Julii first.
Come to think of it, why the frick are Romans associated with color red anyway?
Its the favoured colour of Mars, the god of war. Red symbolises victory in battle
Iceni because I'm from Bongland
Scipio to salt some Carthaginians
>pick julii
>dont fight the gauls, cuck the brutii instead
>get awesome red+get the east
How's the Rome Remastered? I started the series with ME2 and wanna try Rome.
Still fricked apparently.
Its good,, but some people don't like the ui, it just takes a little to get used to. Personally I would wait until RTR comes out of beta.
Feral has already moved on to M2 remastered.
God, I wish there was a good modern rome game.
Ryse II when?
Actually could be soon.
>After Crysis 4
Still doubt though
>tfw no fantasy RPG set in classical antiquity
