I'm admittedly bad, but movement feels like shit
I like the new time trial course for the sake of practicing movement, but it still takes me ~3mins to do the course because the boost feels limited and I can't get into the flow with the hills. It also seems pointless to run with anything but light.
The game is coming out in 3 months and they still haven't playtested the high playercounts. Nowhere in the Steam store page the emphasize the scale of the battles Tribes is known for. The only thing they've said FOR high player counts is the POSSIBILITY of player mods... and we all know how well that went with Ascend.
I'll put more time in after work tonight. My initial impression is that movement and skiing feels better. Gravity seems to impart more acceleration than it previously did, which is great. I still think the game needs some kind of inventory or resupply station. They also need base turrets that pose a meaningful threat. Plasma turrets are fine for momentarily annoying fat fricks, but missiles are MUCH more effective against anything moving >100kph.
