The ghost part sucked
didn't have many issues with it, probably because I figured what I needed to do to get my shit back quickly
It felt really unfinished, taking away your stats for like 20 minutes was so utterly pointless
shame this game ended up going with the dark souls 2 design philosophy
Never played tunic, could you please elaborate?
They wanted to make the game hard so they just end up spamming you with copy-pasted enemies with high health and damage
but all the enemies are a joke?
the real difficult part are the puzzles
already played it, nice recommendation
Not either of those anons, but those enemies a little later into the game that reduce your max health (until next save point) are rather bullshit.
You have a million tools to fight them safely with. Sorry you're a moron that plays the game with only your sword
There's nothing fun about that, you're just encourage to cheese those kinds of enemies. They don't even make sense with the rest of the game's design.
you can just freeze them with the fire rod plus dagger combo
if you know you can do that... right?
Yes and it's about as engaging as stomping on a fricking goomba then.
if you are crying about being hit by them just get good at the fricking game
at that point you should have the dash dodge
Those types of enemies show up before the dash dodge, anon.
Nah, I'm sick of this excuse. Poor design is poor design, plain and simple. Enemies that drain your max HP is a completely moronic idea, there's a good reason games don't do this. It's a complete slap in the face to anyone that was previously parrying enemies, now you got little choice but to cheese the shit out of it with magic. Tunic is horribly balanced in the 2nd half, the enemies become a pain whilst the final boss is a complete cakewalk, shit's ridiculous.
to be quite honest with you
I don't even remember which enemies you're talking about
that's how little they affect my game
and no, I didn't play the game 5 times, those are created by the new game plus feature
Those glowing spider-like enemies are annoying as shit, they self multiply and deal the max-HP-lowering damage on contact, in addition to being in a very confined area when you first encounter them (and they rarely show up after that point). Those frickers and that one gauntlet room stick out like a sore thumb to me for being far harder than anything else in the game, cheese is encouraged against shit like that.
On the way up the mountainside?
or to the alien base thing?
Yeah those were annoying but not that big of a deal
did you translate the language btw?
They were beneath the quarry iirc, so I guess the "alien base thing" yeah.
>did you translate the language btw?
Unless there's a point in the game that the text is autotranslated, no. I know that the language glyphs are phonetic as it's hinted in one of the pages but I did not bother manually translating it. At some point I will revisit the game to complete the manual and uncover the secrets, I'm only missing 2 or 3 pages I think.
you can get all pages without translating
you only need to translate for the bonus golden items.
but they are for some ARG shit or stuff that I don't know about
I assume that the ARG stuff culminates in the mountain door and probably involves those secret golden items (of which, I've got 4 of them as I wasn't seeking them out), right?
I don't remember what was on the last page
>The last page
with that I meant the pages you haven't collected yet
>Golden door
no, that's part of the main game
the golden items' purpose is still unknown, but it's competely outside of the game it seems
Well, I know about the patterns you use the dpad to solve, which take various forms the windmill one was really cool, I'm not sure if I want to bother opening the golden door, I have a few ideas what you might need to do for it and I suspect it'll be very involved. But I will return to the game at some point to see what else I can figure out and discover.
If you want a very big hint on what to do for the door read the spoiler, even then you probably figured it out already
It's all in the manual
cont.
and you don't need to be able to read it
Well, my suspicions has been that the numbers are manual pages or something on those lines. Haven't opened the game in months though so I can't remember what numbers were there. I already notices some...suspicious patterns...in parts of the manual but I didn't bother seeing if they were all solveable.
Yeah, you got it.
the last page puzzle is also pretty fricking good, if you're into it, slightly annoying if you aren't
>cheese
How is it cheesing? just block, use items, or use your magic. Or get good. Cheesing would be using the huge attack buff when low on HP and then using the hour glass to make dodging a breeze
the gun kills almost everything in 1 hit, and as long as you kill something you can keep using it
as long as you have 1 droplet of mana
The manual had so much SOUL.
>3 bosses
have a nice day
alright tell me a better game that came out in the last 2 years
I am looking for recommendations, because it's really sad
Not him, but Psychonauts 2
Link to the Past > Tunic
Zelda 2 > Phoenotopia Awakening
Secret of Mana > Crosscode
Will definitely give Phooenotopia a shot
anything based on Zelda 2 is bound to be fun
Its a little unpolished & has an unfortunate item trading sequence in the early hours, but is genuinely a hidden gem.

>beat it to the fox
satisfying nut overall solid 8/10
How is this not a Zelda ripoff?
it's zelda but with actual puzzles and no handholding (so with actual exploration too)
Crystal Project is the best indie game this year.
outer wilds echoes of the eye
>he hasn't heard of the goty
ngmi
>goty
Goyim of the Year doesn't impress me homosexual.
It's boring shit
Souls like combat is mediocre and the sword is too short, but some puzzles were neat. Overall it never felt like an adventure as Zelda games do. It really lacks a 'spirit'. It's just neverending combat with cryptic puzzles. That's it. Overall not bad though. I'm omw to get all the fairy shit and open that gate in the snow.. Could be a bit less cryptic imo.
I found death's door to be way more fun and combat superior. Tunic is not worth it's price point, even at it's current price at steam sale
Fox is cute
