this is very relatable because this is true, recently i refunded like 5 games in one day because i just couldn't finish the first mission/tutorial because of getting bored in the first 10 minutes
i guess i just wanna mindlessly waste some time when i have some like i used to do in my teens but it just doesn't click anymore but my brain is so used to playing videogames all the time so i can't just cope and throw out my pc or whatever, i'm a hack and i can't draw or produce music so what else am i supposed to do if not trying to cure my videogame dysfunction by trying the new games

That's a good thing bro. Most of your time should be taken up with your responsibilities and other hobbies. Nothing wrong with playing some vidya now and then, but it shouldn't be your only hobby.
PC gamers are posers. they spend all of this money on a rig they use for browsing Ganker, opening steam and closing it, and in the rare occasion they actually launch a game, they mess around with graphic options for 2hrs and download mods then close the game again. pathetic
>buy game >don't play game >when i do play game, i get bored or worried about other life stuff
being an adult is hard anon. it gets harder to enjoy vidya as you grow older when you realize the target audience is teenagers and kids.
tried playing halo 3 for the first time and i felt the same. alan wake 2 sucked the energy out of me back in november. i think i dont have passion for video games anymore.
I'm going through the same thing you are atm... for a few months... try replaying an old game you havent in years and if you dont like that then you'll need to take a break from vidya.. I spent the better half of last night trying to get star wars pod racer to work on windows 10 and when i did I played it till 4am.... tl;dr go play games you know you've enjoyed in the past that you haven't played for in ages
>pirate new game >play for hours learning about the gameplay and story >don't launch in on second day >rinse and repeat
I didn't finish a game in 10 years.
The most fun i had playing vidya in my life was replaying Dungeon Siege 2's demo over and over as a kid. It was the only other game i had with age of mythology being the other one.
>download a game i'm good at >do the same thing i always do and get high level very quickly >keep engaged for a few hours of the early game but then get bored in the late game grind >drop the game

5 hours, fun life
i have like 5 good roguelikes or roguelites or whatever you nerds them call that i actually like but i just can't fricking play them for more than a few runs, i usually get like one very good close to 100% run and then i just "yeah there's no way i'm repeating that, that's too much effort" and turn them off
i want to get into modeling because i like futuristic guns and stuff but why should i even do that, i know it's a "hobby" and stuff but there's no way i'm selling them or there's no way any of those will work their way into some actual game so literally what's the point, to just model something, save it and put it in some folder i'll never open again or to post it online for other people to look at and potentially steal

i do go outside, that's where all my classes are, i just dont seem to be able to make friends for some reason
i average 30 min a day on my phone according to steve jobs telemetry, and that's pretty much just when im shitting or putting on/changing music at the gym

i think going outside actually killed the gaming spirit in me, i used to be a shutin in my teens and i used to play videogames a lot back then but when got older i was going outside more often and now i'm where i'm at, i'd actually prefer to have a small stride to the nearest coffee shop and to sit there for like 20 minutes than to spend those 20 minutes in a videogame
You are more of a normalgay then the entirety of this website, if you actually do all of the above, homie, just go out and join a club or study group, lmao. Plenty of places to socialize. You just like being depressed.

i do go to a club but it just passes the same as class does pretty much, groups of friends within the club talk to teach other and occasionally the assembled body at large

We're not in the golden age anymore, we have to deal with some bullshit to actually enjoy videogames, but it's possible. Recently played through Far Cry 6 for the first time, the first two hours are awful but after that the game picks up and it's fun if you ignore the story, jesus christ what a shit story.
everything that's in my backlog is extremely boring and i know i won't be playing any of that for too long, i know i should start forcing myself to spend at least like 5 hours on any given game but i guess i'm just too weak willed, i can't not turn off a boring (any) game after 20 minutes of playtime

There, your life is now a lot better, it's that simple, you'll enjoy vidya again
But above all just get better taste in games, quit playing live-service shit where all you do is watch a progress bar to unlock fart noises and particle effects, NEETs love those because for all the bullshit that they talk they still have the need to get something done and those games fool them into feeling accomplished
Do away with any multiplayer altogether in fact
i do all of that (except for a girlfriend obviously) and i don't really have anything that currently bothers me in my life on the surface level, in fact the only games i could enjoy recently were the only games since there's this like a group of friends feeling to them even though i rarely talk to people but still online games are like 10 times more fun when all the people running around doing stuff
Hello me, okay, in seriousness. to combat the video game fatigue, you need to be fatigued in some other hobby or work, in my case, i have a shitty office job that i hate and mentally check out too when i leave, I use that as fuel to play as many games as i can.
i'm fine with my job and it doesn't really get me too fatigued but i'm obviously very tired after an extensive working day so i just want to fast forward to the weekends as fast as possible and when i finally reach the weekends the same "oh it's so fricking boring" thing gets to me and i can't do anything about it
This happened to me with Infinite Wealth >replay entire franchise from Y0 to Gaiden >replay Gaiden twice back to back because I love it so much >Buy the $100 edition of IW >play for like 3 hours and go back to playing Yakuza 1 Kiwami and Ishin
newbie thread to indoctrinate more youth into being homosexual doomers. keep these threads up please. more loosh for the archons is hilarious. more youth getting indoctrinated and addicted to this site is a good thing to me.

I'm replaying Dying Light The Following and it's fantastic. I played it before on the Xbone years ago but this time it's on PC and I'm really getting into it.
How is the main game? I was gifted it years ago but never played it. I play a lot of spooky games so I'm hard to spook but I love horror, is it scary or more actiony like Dead Rising?
You can avoid nighttime which is the only time it's scary. You cripple your level progression though because you miss out on the double xp you gain at night. A big part of it is until end game when you can fight them there are special tanky runner infected that are only out at night. They chhase you if you're spotted along with slow infected that will evolve into runners randomly. You essentially get an action game during day and horror at night with the horror element being the anxiety of doing quests or leveling your skills when at any point during the night you'll have to drop everything and run. I found the story and characters pretty good considering.

the binding of isaac and replaying the dark souls series are the only games i play
i have like 5 good roguelikes or roguelites or whatever you nerds them call that i actually like but i just can't fricking play them for more than a few runs, i usually get like one very good close to 100% run and then i just "yeah there's no way i'm repeating that, that's too much effort" and turn them off

i do all of that (except for a girlfriend obviously) and i don't really have anything that currently bothers me in my life on the surface level, in fact the only games i could enjoy recently were the only games since there's this like a group of friends feeling to them even though i rarely talk to people but still online games are like 10 times more fun when all the people running around doing stuff
i'm fine with my job and it doesn't really get me too fatigued but i'm obviously very tired after an extensive working day so i just want to fast forward to the weekends as fast as possible and when i finally reach the weekends the same "oh it's so fricking boring" thing gets to me and i can't do anything about it
i mean online games
SPAWN MORE OVERLORDS
>turn on PC
>Disable antivirus
>Get flooded with viruses
i never had any viruses once i stopped being a broke teen and stopped pirating games like 7 years ago
do people really only use pc for gaming? are all of you here phoneposters?
never understood pc vs console on the first place
Maybe it's time for you to transcend from video game gaming.
Have you tried video game developing?
This happened to me with Infinite Wealth
>replay entire franchise from Y0 to Gaiden
>replay Gaiden twice back to back because I love it so much
>Buy the $100 edition of IW
>play for like 3 hours and go back to playing Yakuza 1 Kiwami and Ishin
newbie thread to indoctrinate more youth into being homosexual doomers. keep these threads up please. more loosh for the archons is hilarious. more youth getting indoctrinated and addicted to this site is a good thing to me.
>he still didn't listed all of his backlog games and started playing them one by one
>he doesn't force himself through the shit tutorials to get to the good parts already
We're not in the golden age anymore, we have to deal with some bullshit to actually enjoy videogames, but it's possible. Recently played through Far Cry 6 for the first time, the first two hours are awful but after that the game picks up and it's fun if you ignore the story, jesus christ what a shit story.
skill issue
I just did this with Dishonored last night. Never played it before, did two missions, wasn't feelin it and uninstalled. Maybe I would have stuck with it if I'd tried it way back when it launched but now I'm not willing to stick with shit that doesn't click in some way early.
Nothing wrong with you, Dishonored is indeed soulless goyslop of its time
I'm replaying Dying Light The Following and it's fantastic.
Joe Biden is literally genociding muslims and causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of slavic people
Stop anon, I don't want to like anything about Biden.
>muslims
>slavic people
you mean they slaughter themselves on their own for the 150th time while america does literally nothing?
>america
>does literally nothin
Yes anon, let's ignore how America keeps bombing their countries which causes more refugees to come our countries
Totally did nothing
Of frick anon, you didn't need to post the same thing twice. We get it. America bad.
>keeps bombing their countries
literally what, or do you mean that israel and ukraine are now officially the 52nd state
>america
>does literally nothing
Yes anon, let's ignore how America keeps bombing their countries which causes more refugees to come our countries
Totally did nothing
Some of you anons may actually have a disorder where you feel depressed due to chemical/hormone imbalances and may unironically need to see a doctor.
You could've just said "eat your vegetables"
>Get at least 8 hours of sleep every single night
>Drink plenty of water throughout the day
>Get at least 20 minutes of being outside in general
>Move at least one mile, be it actually walking outside or on a treadmill
I forgot who I quoted from this but it seems like decent advice. You don't even have to try to be Ganker just do the bare minimum for maintenance.
Be honest, this board is made up of those who have grown out of games and can't enjoy them, but cling to the past by discussing said thing in hopes it'll come back.
polbrainrot does that to you, enjoy
>turn on pc
>launch game
>it's fricking boring
>uninstall game
>launch better game
>tomorrow i'll play that game 100%, i literally can't wait!
>next day i can't even be bother to launch the game
*coughs* go on without me
i love looking at pictures of joe with my Ganker bros
Biden bros eating good tonight
Spice things up a little, I stoped playing and working on the same place and now I like vidya again.
start doing drugs
>spend all day thinking about playing game
>get home and launch the game
>bored of it in an hour
is this what's it like growing out of something?
