Is anyone here playing Turtle WoW?
It's a very populated vanilla WoW private server. It's easy to set up and you can play all vanilla content for free.
If you've ever been curious about WoW but didn't want to pay for a subscription, I highly recommend checking it out.

in real irl competition people lose their shit over sportsmanship, which generally includes not harassing people during official play. everyone talks shit to each other when they think they can't be seen or heard, of course, but that's certainly not in the spirit of fun or camaraderie.

Nah, like I said, people are pretty damn thick-skinned. I mean, it's 2023. We've seen it all by this point. Nobody gets banned for "what they say" or hurting other people's feelings. You have to be objectively disruptive in order to get slapped, and to act that way and cry about it after being slapped shows they're the real thin-skinned child here lol

on twow their definition of "disruptive" is skewed heavily towards one direction
on twow they have a policy of "keep conversations topics centered around the game"
but ive personally seen some topics get the ok while others immediately get gagged.

I play pretty slowly, only 36. Im waiting for Human Hunters and the Gilneas Zone. Its pretty enjoyable, no one talking about any new content kinda adds some mystique I enjoy.
What’s the deal with VanillaPatch? Is it necessary? My PC flags it as a virus, and I know the video on the download page explains this, it just sketches me out.

Project Epoch is going to mop the floor with Turtle. So much that you can't do with the vanilla client, very strong scripting and the quests aren't obviously written by a random bunch of ESLs
Revamped Deadmines/WC are also very good examples, probably more interesting to look at than this

You guys keep saying the same thing in any Turtle thread, but the simple fact of the matter is that people can play Turtle right now, but not Epoch. It gets shilled like there's a competition to be had between the two at this point, but people can't switch to Epoch because there's no fukken Epoch to play.
Yeah, you're right, I wouldn't really mind going back and playing more turtle more until epoch is out once the population goes down a bit if I didn't have other games to play, I'm just excited for epoch because it looks really good and addresses some of the criticisms I had with turtle
