I haven't read or watched any of this beyond the original game. I kinda miss it but worry the new stuff will ruin that feeling.
The two mask games are both excellent
Third game is better than the first, no joke. I played the original years back and then the two new games, then the remake original.
Honestly, it's fine. H scenes are dogshit in the first game to the point of being a detriment and the gameplay is much improved although not really what I would call a top tier tactics game.
The SOL and story really carries things.
>H scenes are dogshit in the first game to the point of being a detriment
H scenes are never a detriment
this guy gets it. the statement that "Uta 1's hscenes were bad" is a reddit tier garbage opinion.
nah, the moron LARPing Black person opinion of a dumbfrick who has never played the game because it's older than him is yours
seethe harder.
>you're mad because I never played a game hurr durr
fricking moron kek
>he doesn't share the opinion that the hscenes suck
>therefore he hasn't played the game!
you sir, are profoundly moronic.
>he
>IP count stays the same
lel
Kek, you don't even understand that the greentext was your internal monologue.
moron
likewise. It's been a pleasure.
They are if they are bad. Someone who can write good SoL, worldbuilding and drama isn't necessarily a good writer for hentai scenes and Utawarerumono is a perfect example of that.
The game manages to hit the right balance between lighthearted slice of life moments and serious war drama but the hentai just pulls you out. This isn't like Rance where the porn is more or less in line with the rest.
NTA, I dropped Utawarerumono cause it went all ages. Seems like a cope out move for cash more than anything. If I want to play a sfw RPG, why would I pick Utawarerumono.
>coomers are moronic and make dumb decisions
your choice; I don't give a frick
>OH NO NO NO
ok aquaplus
their recent AA game "moebius memories" or something flopped so hard and also the gacha game before that. It's only a matter of time till they close shop if this keeps up.
serves them right for going full cuck mode games without porn
>good writer for hentai scenes
what sort of "good" writing would you like for a hscene other than the standard stuff like "I'm coming", "you're big" etc etc, hmmmm? Do you want them discussing politics or world lore while fricking?
The build up and delivering, otherwise you just go to /gif/.
>The build up and delivering
I guess the transition to the hscenes could have been better, with some lines of romance instead of Hakuro just straight of whipping his dick out. that's a valid point but I don't think there's anything wrong with the hscenes themselves.
>Yuzuhas scene
I think it is hard to incorporate every sex scene as a plot point unless the VN is a nukige. except Yuzuha, every other scene was just harem building casual sex.
You are genuinely moronic, congratulations
That's the thing. It basically is just "ahhh i am cumming" for the most parts. You have some exceptions like Yuzuhas scene but outside of that it's just super generic porn that pulls you out of the game.
Nah dude, there are some pretty bad h-scenes out there
Muvluv is also something people remember for the insane plot rather than the shitty porn yes
Her rape brutal alien rape was necessary for the plot. All ages game are cucked narratively. Safe Saturdays morning cartoons stories are not interesting.
No see I get that and I'm fine with it, but it was handled really badly. Take this image from Goblin Slayer and one of it's spinoffs for example. What the scene in Muv Luv should have been is like the top image, but instead they tried to make it like the bottom image.
That GS spinoff always wierded me out.
>The way the cover is Speargirl and the goblin guard looking at each other smiling.
>The way the rape scene is framed more like an h manga sex scene than the usual "horrific trauma" way GS does those scenes.
>Speargirl comes out of it apparently not suffering any particular trauma more than just "Oh whoops, guess that happened".
Just felt like GS shooting itself in the foot when the whole message from the start has been that rape is a BAD thing and not something that should turn you on.
I agree completely and that's the point I'm making with THAT scene in muv luv. It's been a long time since I read it but I think the eclipse scene in berserk's manga vs the movie is the same way.
the first game is still the best. The third game could have been better but some major asspulls in it ruin the experience.
i remember losing that fight first time around
i played them all when mask of truth came out and the second and third game are better than the first. the combat mechanics change but also become more interesting and the story is a bit better
>The entire game is a tutorial
I hate that shit in tower defense games where you're given game mechanics up until the last mission and then nothing.
>one of the last missions gives you a very cool ability/unit that you would like to keep using
>no new game plus
I just wish there was like a last lap or something. You can do 25 missions (for 30 dollars yeah thanks you greedy homosexuals) and then have like 10 where it's to make use of all the unlocked units and towers.
>Game has a mission with overpowered weapons due to story reasons
>You can play the same mission after completing it with your own gear for extra challenge
>Dialogue changes to fit your choice
Kino, ludo if I might say.
>RTS game
>gives you a superweapon in the campaign
>it's the final mission
I wish RTS games had a short 5 or 6 level tutorial campaign where they introduce all the units and an another advanced main campaign where you get to use all that you've been given.
>Shadow Warrior reboot gives you a very powerful sword in the last mission that is very fun to use
>game also has New Game +
>everything carries over EXCEPT for the sword
>you start out with the most OP equipment in the game
>everything gets taken from you after the tutorial and it never appears again
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>RTS campaign is great
>introduces concepts quickly, challenges the player to use them appropriately more and more every mission
>final mission is a gimmicky bullshit carnival game
Same but for RTS games. I was playing tooth and tail and they practically only give you one mission where they're not introducing some new unit or game concept because the fricking dev was obsessed with multiplayer being the core of the game.
I fricking hate what e-sports did to gaming.
I love Dungeon Keeper but it's also so much untouched potential
Does the expansion or KeeperFX port adress this with the new maps? I only played the base game ages ago, thinking in reinstalling.
True. And to this day there is no actual replacement/successor for DK1 and DK2. War for the Overworld was an attempt which got some things right and others wrong but outside of that? Feels like this kind of game just died or disappeared in liveservice mobile hell.
>there is no actual replacement/successor for DK1 and DK2
Isn't there a series called dungeons which tries to do this?
Maybe the later games are better but Dungeon 1/2 were kinda ass. And not really Dungeon Keeper-like
funny thing is that DK inspired plenty of hgames which are better than the so-called "spiritual successor" mobile games inspired by DK.
Name 3. I've never heard about them.
Demonion 1&2 , dungeon legion, and some more whose names I can't recall. I am unsure whether they are translated though.
dungeons 3 feels like a different game that dungeon keeper sneezed on
I feel like the base game would work fine mixing it with other genres. Like a 4X/grand strategy that plays like DK.
the wojak moron should go back to the sharty and deep throat his russian master but it is true that this board is casual as frick and a niche game like that only was ever talked about in visual novel threads.
>Tutorial level is the most memorable part in the game
That and free roaming is all i ever did in Driver
That's just early Molyneux games in general. Black&White and Theme Hospital are also constantly in tutorial mode
Unironically never beat this as a kid. Never saw past the tutorial in Driver 1.
Didn't help that the tasks were their English words still and I didn't speak English, so I had no idea what the frick to even do.
Loved Driver 2 though, found the secret cars in the first 2 maps all by myself with no one telling me/looking it up.
Felt incredibly big brain when I figured out how to open the stadium and drive inside.
>OG eroge release has Camyu sucking Hakus dick because it's a eroge - no actual reason exists - it never gets explained why she wants his seed so badly
>later SFW re-release changes her sucking dick to sucking Hakus blood
>which also doesn't get explained in any shape or form
the only H scene that matters is the cripple and they kept that in with a fade to black so it would be less boring
I played the original release ages ago. The H-scenes do mostly suck. Same with Fate Stay Night. Those VNs only had porn back in the days cause it was near impossible to sell your title otherwise - Nobody wanted to play All-Ages games. But in their cases the porn was easily the worst parts and the VNs ended up selling later even with the porn removed - which just shows that nobody liked those scenes in the first place. Tohsakas anus became a meme for reason.
>Those VNs only had porn back in the days cause it was near impossible to sell your title otherwise - Nobody wanted to play All-Ages games. But in their cases the porn was easily the worst parts and the VNs ended up selling later even with the porn removed
Unlike the other homosexual moron, you understand. It was impossible to sell a doujinshi game at Comiket without some tiddies.
As you also said, Realta Nua went on to dwarf the original release and the most common way to play it for us back when MirrorMoon first translated it was to patch the RN content into the original version of the game.
OG version is still my favorite but the H was shit.
>Tohsakas anus became a meme for reason.
>Nobody wanted to play All-Ages game
Yet there were a lot of big name VNs without sex back then
All the really big ones did start with eroge though
Kanon was the entry point for Key and that was originally eroge.
To Heart was eroge and the entry point for Leaf and later Utawarerumono - also eroge.
Same with Typemoon and Tsukihime/FSN
>All the really big ones did start with eroge though
saddens me that they completely abandoned their roots to pursue bigger money. I can't blame them though, it's only natural.
move to a square where you don't get attacked by two at once maybe?
>no one mentioned the Temple of Bullshit in Fallout 2
Reminds me of the homm6 campaign, iirc the tutorial mission gimps your army hard and you have to out maneuver the enemies
I know another example. Estelle + Anelace vs Kurt.
Kurt wasnt hard at all. Just had to save your super moves for his last quarter of health.
you obviously didn't play on Nightmare
No, but saying the hardest difficulty is hard is redundant.
worth it for the porn, every underwater ray romano game that came after is console garbage without sex, imagine being a cuck and playing that LOL
I am still upset that the remake doesn't have the difficulty option of the original eroge release.
Constantly fighting to not softlock yourself was intense and fun. Then the remakes were baby mode in comparison.
>tutorial mission filters a good chunk of the playerbase
>Slalom
I mastered this on PS1 - to the point where my friends asked me to play the tutorial for them.
>Armored core 1 wasn't the first response
ISHYGDDT
But seriously, who's heard of a game that gives you a game over in the tutorial even though it doesn't explain any of the controls?
?si=w01gFvWpnLMzidm9
>First mission has all the baddies against the 3 of you.
>Either you escape or fight against all of them. Winning will give you a lot of levels and high tier accessories.
Rondo of Swords is ball busting hard, even its tutorials are hard too.
>you're supposed to lose tutorial mission
>last mission is the tutorial but this time you beat it
ultimate general civil war does this, or at the least Union campaign does
>Tutorial filters Casuals
based
hippity hoppity guraa & dorii are oboros property
Of course the ONE visual novel I finally mustered up the will to play turned out to be a half-baked SRPG.
It's not the tutorial really but the whole first 1/3 of Witcher 2 is much harder than the rest of the game
