why is one dead a tragedy but one million a statistic?
Cool it with the antisemitism
Because twitter screenshots are inevitably reposted on other social media sites like instagram and Ganker, thus giving them exponentially more reach.
>less than imgur
excuse me? how? isn't it just an image posting website?
I guess that's the trick
It's pure visual consooming
Your posts can still go viral
Not anymore, theres a whole community build around it.
Imgur's front page is another DNC propaganda outlet.
not pictured, on the left, Ganker
Twitter is for visibility only. It doesn't convert into sales but it gets attention. That is all. Twitter is full of journalists(of all kinds), writers, creative people in general. The kind of people who tend to bang on their drum as soon as something happens that they feel strongly about which sets off a chain reaction and trickles down into articles and directly affect your companies reputation. Again, this has nothing to do with sales but public perception.
And Twitter is full of mentally ill sociopaths who will endless shit upon a game if it doesn't meet the woke politics checklist, even if they had zero interest in or intention to purchase the game in the first place. Look at Tomodatchi Life, what should have been a 3DS sleeper hit with funny mii meme generation turned into game journalists banding together to use the game as a reason to crusade for LGBT rights before giving it low review scores and meter mentioning the game ever again.
Same reason why some mentally ill devs want to appeal to you, you mantecose inbreed fat monkeys: If they feel that they have the approval of some nameless homosexual that no longer feels joy on video games and have as a hobby nitpicking every aspect of game, they will feel like the accomplished an astonishing feat.
>wishlist
WHO. GIVES. A. SINGLE. Black person. FRICK. ABOUT. WISHLISTS???
lmao i click a random troony profile on steam and see a wishlist with 6 million games on it
it's like me watching a youtube video about a lambo, click the like button and the ~~*marketers*~~ are like "wow we just got as potential buyer :)"
FRICKING Black folk AAAAAAH WHY IS THIS WORLD SO FRICKING BRAINDEAD
>WHO. GIVES. A. SINGLE. Black person. FRICK. ABOUT. WISHLISTS???
The steam algorithm does you cretin.
The whole point is conversion rates. That's how this business works.
Steam sucks. Only drones disagree.
Literal child mentality
Well it also works like this on other platforms.
Front page mentions are always the result of a mix between wishlists and interactions.
Unless the spot is paid for of course.
Do not get the appeal of having a DRM launcher welded onto your games, or worse, having your games on an internet account on a platform that bans you for nono think..
indeed, that's why I use steam
Too bad my main source of income sucks in your eyes. Wanna cry? Maybe shit your pants?
>Wanna cry? Maybe shit your pants?
Sounds like you do enough of that for the whole thread. So I won't.
that was his first post, it was a new IP.
>anon goes into a game show expecting nothing
>sees a game thats mildly interesting
>"huh, cool!"
>he goes to its page
>presses wishlist
>probably forget about it
>but now steam tells him when the game releases
>launch profit: a million dollars
VS
>latinx_sisterx sees twitter post about a game on twitter
>comments are filled with LE SO PROGRESSIVERINO!!!!!!!
>10 BAJILLION botted likes!1!!!!1!11!!!!!!
>but none of them actually play videogames
>launch profit: about a thousand dollars
thats why
ok i understand your point but
>anon goes into a game show
you already lost me here
He could have also said
>fat anon autistic loser manchild watches Nintendo direct
>fat anon autistic loser manchild watches Xbox live
et cetera et cetar
Same end result really
i dont watch that either
i dont even play video games outside of a few select titles that are all 10+ years old
Well you get the idea.
homosexual ass games like ooblets only ever got attention because they were featured on festivals.
And then they threw it all away by acting like twitter troons.
It's really mindboggling how everyone nowadays seems like they got a heavy narcissistic disorder, social media truly has destroyed society.
same here, thats why i watch a few game shows every now and then in hopes that SOMETHING is worthwhile, and i can take a break from
>modded minecraft but again
>boot tf2 >2fort
and
>oh boy oh boy i sure do hate warframe! wonder what those homosexuals fricked up this time
Because they're moronic?
Because like Ganker and tumblr, it's mostly sewage with the occasional gem, and those gems get reposted and shared elsewhere, so if that hurts your image, it could affext sales.
ESG money
Twitter is one of the most irrelevant platforms on the internet. Especially after Musk was forced to buy it.
>bending over for Twitter
Literally what games are doing right-wing grifts?
Twitter is a gigantic psyop. They've convinced the world that the insanity on twitter reflects the beliefs and attitudes of the rest of the world, but it doesn't.
>vocal minority cringe Ganker political homosexual fails to understand that successful people do things for reasons other than twitter clout
NGMI
I dont know a single person who uses twitter, It's all Instagram
Ok, but where do we rank on this list? I'm guessing we're a super negative, all we do is tell people games not to buy
Where are the "shilling on Ganker" analytics?
Silly anon. Everyone knows that no company is silly enough to spend money on shilling here, that literally never happens
Ask the Dave the diver posters how much they make.
Nor korean basket weaving forums besides people here assuring this place matters.
>Twitter literally does not matter for sales
>steam
Yeah sure
Twitter is about to get a lot smaller now that you need an account to view things.
I expect we'll see a lot less catering to twitter users from literally everyone now that lurking is dead.
>Festivals
Really? Like PAX and shit? Nothing wrong with getting a booth if you can, but that was YiiK's primary method of advertising and it bombed hard.
they mean music festivals aka rebranded rave parties
>til tok 2nd most important
This feeling... Is this what it's like being out of touch
Sales don't matter, only Blackrock matters
I buy very few games I wishlist. It's merely a convenient way to keep track of games I might get some day
Twitter is funny in that its better than most of those things for exposure but the people your game is actually exposed to are subhumans who mostly use the site to harass and engage in culture war shit. Other sites your product is more likely to be discovered by people who have an interest in the medium.
