That's copium, it's companies relying on ESG funds that are dying.
What they are presenting as an industry crash is actually great news for us.
It will mean games catering to customers instead of ESG.
Meaning less censorship and movie games made to showcase brown people for the sake of it.

      We won Ganker

It is going to be great see some of the survivors crawl back to us but unlike the times the industry follows a fad for like a couple of years, it has been a decade.

That said, high budget games need to go and just repurpose existing technology and assets. Level design is a lost art.

These are also companies that overhired during the pandemic, because their corporate brained executives - as usual - presumed that a passing trend (working from home and people spending more money for electronic entertainment) would be permanent.
A lot of tech/gaming companies also hired new people just in case metaverse takes off any moment now, it didn't so a lot of those employees always were useless.

They were developing multiple AAA projects, like 5 or something and they canned them recently. The kicker is we don't know what these projects are except for Splinter Cell VR. The Division 2 Beta before they revealed how they learned nothing from the previous game and made it worse. Still literally bought it for a $1, ONE DOLLAR.

Assassin's Creed is something I would had still followed if they had not turned the games into genuine capeshit and the latest Prince of Persia with the Basketball American looks like fricking shit. RS6 went from a leftover tech demo that by a miracle turned into a fun and only alternative to Counter Strike into all sorts of idiocy, like fighting Ayy Lmaos and Zombies, having Master Chief in a game where you never want to be seen at all and woke shit with OP operators and expensive, mandatory DLC up the ass...and is still better than Counter Strike if you are not a gambling addict.

Funny enough a Rabbids game of ALL things is their latest success.

Siege, back in 2017 I think. I used to like it, then they shat it up with stupid "balance changes", by changing up maps for no fricking reason and ruining them, by getting lazier with each update by not even making new guns but recycling them, and last but not least, the creative bankruptcy with new operators what with their lame fricking stories, designs and recycled abilities. They changed the Recruit class, also for no fricking reason, thereby ruining it by severely limiting your loadout options. They took a massive dump on the feel of the game, the atmosphere was transformed from a gritty shooter to a Fortnite wannabe. I learned never to buy a Ubishit game ever fricking again.

In the mind of the average /misc/tard such as yourself, ESG = woke, when it is largely about things like ensuring workers have fair working conditions and pay, reducing pollution and externalities. DEI is not even part of the rubric.

Anon, you silly little goblin. ESG stands for Environmental Social Governance. It specifically highlights SRI, socially responsible investing, as a highlight for its social guidelines. The economic jargon involves phrases like 'minimizing exposure to social issues' and that the system marks you down for doing things that angry mobs dont like and marks you up for doing things that responsible citizens like. In real function, the system rewards walmart for stopping the sale rifle or shotgun ammo to hunters while continuing to sell pistol ammo to murderers.

If you actually look at the rubric, workers conditions, rights, pay, corporate governance quality, reducing pollution and unnecessary waste, have points on the rubric but cooked brain /misc/tards imagine the whole thing is about DEI and ignore the 15 other points about companies just behaving as good corporate citizens

ESG was not the first and will not be the last business rubric. Many of them already look at workers pay and rights and environmental externalities, and have for decades. Leather manufacturing in the US has been stopped for nearly a century because there is no easy way to dispose of tanning fluid and investment companies eventually got tired of funding a seemingly successful business only for all of the value to suddenly melt away when it turns out the tannery was dumping toxic waste into groundwater and the lawsuits wring them dry. That's not new, and thats not what makes ESG special. People switched to ESG because what made ESG unique and new was SRI, the idea that new market analysts have found out a way to not get you twitter canceled by BLM antifa activists if you just follow these ten easy steps.

                >Just behave decently, treat your workers well and don't destroy the environment and you won't be cancelled on Twitter
I repeat for the people who are a little dumb. Company managers followed the old rubrics that are your entire greenpost and hired all of the right people to manage their PR and still got twitter canceled and were very upset that things werent working out, and when ESG threw them a line they were happy to take it. Many of the SRI guidelines are simply stupid, no one is angry about "order your workers to show up to local charities and community events in uniform as a representative of your company" because it is so obstinately misguided and heavyhanded that you really only feel bad for the poor shmuck who is ordered by his boss to make a fool out of himself in order to keep his paycheck, and even then its more funny than pitiable. But some of them, like the one that recommends companies with branches in the middle east region pander to terrorists just in case they take over a small country and you still have to do buisiness there, are frankly disgusting, as well as the matching one advising corps to pander to BLM because eventually whites will be a minority and then ??? and then BLM will be your government.

no that anon is right. morons love to over simplify things, so when they see a new fancy term they instantly jump on it. be it woke, be it esg, i'm sure there is at least 5 instances of newspeek coming up in the fringes of alt right edginess every month to try to ascribe a simple solution to a complex issue because morons love doing it, it's why the entire aspect of social media is trying to sum up issues with a nice catchy jingle that rolls off the tongue and is catchy like "go woke go broke", the moron masses can't be assumed to understand any of the underlying issues at play, so it all boils down to "waaah reduce exec pay"

The only thing actually getting any attention anymore is fricking Rainbow Six Siege, and that's hit the point that its own players don't care about it all that much anymore but the most absolutely obsessed who have already paid their dues, unwelcome as it is to anyone else now. The most notable game this year is Assassin's Creed Mirage, and not only is that IP tired, it's a return to the stealth-kill-assassining of before they went action RPG, so no one cares for it, and I don't see anyone talking about The Crew Motorfest or expressing much about their Avatar game. Last year was another Mario + Rabbids that fell off the attention wagon fast, the ill-fated Roller Champions, and the absolute bomb that was Rainbow Six Extraction. All of this and Xdefiant doesn't appeal to anyone but those who want a CoD replacement and actually played the beta.

Remember, Far Cry 6 was two years ago and that came came and went like a wet fart.

The problem is that the mentallity of the market has changed. Back in the days companies did not take huge bets and investors were perfectly fine with their 5% growth per year. Nowadays everyone is trying to be the next x800 company that makes its investors rich over night. And that's for a multitude of reasons

I can advertise my shitcoin to my million youtuber followers without problem and claim that this will make their investment go x100. It only becomes a problem when i actually initiate the rugpull - thats when my channel gets taken down. Unless you are literally too big to fail like Logan Paul who has insiders within youtube on his side so he can scam his own followers again and again just fine. EA and Activision need to go the same way but sheeple love their yearly slop. When DLC was baked into everything, I thought that would be the year people would wake up. When games were riddled with bugs, defects and unfinished features, that's when I thought people would wise up. When games were being copied year to year with the same bugs, features and problems THAT'S when i thought people would wake up.

Yeah I played it for a year or so before stopping, it's a human zoo that makes League of Legends look like a garden tea party. I was plat level and I think that's the most mentally ill section of the community well more specifically platinum/low diamond levels. You are really good at the game but you aren't really top tier so all you encounter are people who dump the majority of their time into the game and start to develop some serious egos about their ingame skill. Their entire identity and self worth derives from how well they are doing lately in the game and if they have an off day it's like their life is over.

Ubisoft has 6 million studios and diversity hires all around the globe. If they buy Ubisoft, they'll have to fire the dangerhairs who do nothing, and the game journo mafia will throw a hissyfit. It'll be easier for them to wait for Ubisoft to go bankrupt, and then buy the IP's

Kek I genuinely loved that game and it's a shame Ubisoft is so terrible and Rayman isn't coming back. I thought Avatar would be good and for some reason it's an FPS wtf. Also they made a video showing the leap of faith from ass creed in every game, with Mirage at the end, I thought it was meant to be a remake of the first game, all of the games graphically looked the exact goddamn same.

      >is equality satirical?
How do these people not stop, think, and find out for themselves how fricking utterly out of this world their reasoning sounds?
Equality implies equal opportunities not dividing by 50% your work force based on their sexes, which itself is very sexist to do so, because the women that actually pursue a career in videogames or developing in general aren't as close as they'd like to think to the amount of males, so when they make it 50/50 men female they're actively supporting sexism against men and destroying any slither of meritocracy along the way.

Uranium prices have increased from 0,8 Euro/kg to 200 Euro/kg because 3 African countries declared independence and kicked out all of the French military and diplomats.

Ubisoft literally can't afford to turn on their computers.

        It's a big geopolitical shift.

Europe is being deindustrialised. Germans won't be able to afford electricity, neither will France.
Ukraine won't be able to afford anything.
Finland's tax revenue shrunk by 20% because Nokia just got its limbs amputated.
UK is also being deindustrialised because they can no longer export to Europe and economies of scale within UK is not enough.
Italy has 70% of its millenials living wiht their parents.
Spain....is probably the least affected for now.

Literally every single point is a lie. Only Niger had uranium and they only owned 5% of the world production and needed France companies to extract it. Mali and BF have none. And Niger isn't France's main supplier of uranium for years.
And those 3 countries are getting raped by insurgents right now. They will within 3 years.

          >and how much is fuel?
Enough for the French to reject the new market price set from the newly independent African countries. The Niger government called for the French Ambassador to discuss pricing, the ambassador refused to talk, then they were banished persona non grata, then they refused to leave Africa, then they got arrested and deported.
          This is significant.
The math won't add up, Electricity intensive businesses in France will all be deindustrialised, just like we have seen in Germany.

          >The Niger government called for the French Ambassador to discuss pricing

France in general is fricked because their economy has always relied on stolen Uranium from Africa. And 3 African countries just declared independence in the past year, the main Uranium mining countries..

Uranium costs only account for 20% of the total cost of energy production in a nuclear power plant. Whoever this dumb homosexual is has literally no idea what he's talking about and almost reads like some kind of anti-france shill and who the frick cares enough about france to do that.

Enough for the French to reject the new market price set from the newly independent African countries. The Niger government called for the French Ambassador to discuss pricing, the ambassador refused to talk, then they were banished persona non grata, then they refused to leave Africa, then they got arrested and deported.
              This is significant.

                >So does Africa, and just like Africa they do nothing with them.
                ???
Russian oligarchs are reinvesting like mad in Russia now.
The current problem in Russia is they have to much money and don't know what to do with them. Projects arne't completed fast enough, and they likely have shortage of workers to follow up the investments.

                >It can, it just needs to remind people that if they don't do what they are told they'll be turned into a smoking crater.
That will just make more of the world turn against you.

                >It's the most modern military
Reminder that Russia has only one single aircraft carrier, one that is from the Soviet era and is undergoing several years of repairs because it used to break down so much it had to be tugged alone by tugboats.
The they have no equivalent of the AC-130, that they have no equivalent of the X-37B, they have no laser weaponry, and their most advanced aircraft is at the level of a F-18EX and they have about 15 of them.
Just look at Ukraine, if the USA or China invaded that country they would have taken it within weeks.
You know who does have an equivalent to all of these? China, that's a country worth respecting, and there's a reason BRICS is all about orbiting China, and not Russia.

                >The current problem in Russia is they have to much money and don't know what to do with them.
And the same happens to them with resources, because Russia is a slavic nation, and slavs are bunch of stupid drunks and drug addicts.

                >That will just make more of the world turn against you.
As opposed to having them pretend to be your friends while they bleed your resources and money dry?
Lets say the USA right now threatened any European or African country with nuking them.
                What would they do?

                >you don't understand why you lost half of the world to China to begin with.
I do, weak polkiticians who think this is a world of rainbows and Disney and talking bears.

The Ukraine war for example could be solved today by simply covering Donbas in anthrax, that would teach the Ukranians and Russians to start at least pretending to be civilized.

that Russia has only one single aircraft carrier,
They don't need aircraft carrier to drain the entire military stockpile of Nato.
All of your monbo jumbo has proven irrelevant, it's a war of artillery, drones and missiles, and solders in the trenches.

                >And the same happens to them with resources
It's just a lack of workers, they will get there eventually.

                >Lets say the USA right now threatened any European or African country with nuking them.
They would work with Russia and China.
                And you would lose.
By the way, you already threatened them with your food leverage, it did nothing, they just went to Russia and struck a grain deal with the Russians.
                >As opposed to having them pretend to be your friends while they bleed your resources and money dry?
It's diplomacy, there are no friends, there are only bad deal, good deals, beneficial deals for both.

                >I do, weak polkiticians who think this is a world of rainbows and Disney and talking bears.
No it's actually because the americans have politicians who act like you.

                >They don't need aircraft carrier to drain the entire military stockpile of Nato
Sure, when it comes to ground war. Thing is real modern warfare doesnt work that way.
A war between the USA and China, for example, would be fought mostly in the air.
Right now Russia and Ukraine are fighting the same way soldiers in WWI did. The USA and China could roll in with air gunships, fifth generation jets, stealth bombers and Daisy Cutter type equipment and wipe out both the Ukranian and Russian militaries.
And for all of this aircraft carriers are essential.

                >They would work with Russia and China.
And then you decide to proof your threat wasn't a bluff. What then?

                >It's diplomacy
Which is why diplomacy is a waste of time, diplomacy is the foolish idea that every nation is equal, when its obvious there's two nations that rule this planet.

                >Bullies who alienate other countries.
No, we have cowards who lose wars despite having the means to wipe out entire countries within minutes, the ones who spend billions on "saving" worthless hellholes like Ukraine that, if the US and Europe weren't controlled by israelites, would have destroyed by their own hand.

                >Then russia just retaliate proportionally. You could never win that.
The question here is who is more afraid of a WWIII, enought to not retaliate instantly, because I can assure you that's not me.

                >Sure, when it comes to ground war. Thing is real modern warfare doesnt work that way.
It's actually because all the Ukrainnian ships where sunk a long time ago.
Or confiscated when Russia took Crimea.
                >A war between the USA and China, for example, would be fought mostly in the air.
Not sure. It's probably a race to kill the others' space satellites first. Russia have the same expertise in destroying satellites.
Then it's about targets on small american islands, and then american ships.
The Pentagon has already said it would be a losing war because nobody want to recruit for the american army, and ship production is a factor 20 times slower than Chinese ship production, that's why they are slowly Prepping India as their next conflict if they back out of Ukraine.

                >And then you decide to proof your threat wasn't a bluff. What then?
When you have new wars you can't afford, your people will be taxed to hell, your economy would crash from the inflation.

                >Which is why diplomacy is a waste of time, diplomacy is the foolish idea that every nation is equal, when its obvious there's two nations that rule this planet.
No, moron. You are losing to China because you think like this.
You have to start treating others as equals if you want to trade their resources.

                >No, we have cowards who lose wars despite having the means to wipe out entire countries
Wiping out others will just make the world band together against you Your leaders are smarter than you, and that is a really bad situation for you.

                >The question here is who is more afraid of a WWIII, enought to not retaliate instantly, because I can assure you that's not me.

                And?
A Navy is useful as artillery batteries and, as I said, transporting aircraft to other areas of operation, and Ukraine has plenty of coast for that to be useful.
Russians don't do it because they have no capacity to do it.

                > It's probably a race to kill the others' space satellites first.
It won't because that will only result in debris that will damage everyone's satellites, it's an instant MAD effect.

                >The Pentagon has already said it would be a losing war because nobody want to recruit for the american army
Welcome to modern warfare, infantry is obsolete, it's all about aircraft and drones, infantry are just glorified security guards for when the other two are done.
Iraq or the Gulf War are a good example of actual modern warfare, it was three weeks or aircraft destroying the enemy and then the infantry just waltzed in unopposed.

                >When you have new wars you can't afford, your people will be taxed to hell
                All wars are an investment.

                >You are losing to China because you think like this.

                >It won't because that will only result in debris that will damage everyone's satellites
They will take the chance. Better than if their satellites are destroyed and yours survive.

                >Welcome to modern warfare, infantry is obsolete, it's all about aircraft and drones, infantry are just glorified security guards for when the other two are done.
