I'm fine with it when it's similar to the one on Ganker where it's one fricking banner that stays where it is. The moment it starts moving with view while I scroll, starts a video that autoplays in the corner or has a popup, the whole site gets blocked or I stop using it.
Didn't YouTube used to just have banner ads? Can't remember if it was placed below the video or to the right, but it was fairly unintrusive.

Use Newpipe for smartphones. For computers, use Ublocker on Firefox and search the add-ons for an anti-adblocker for Youtube to rid yourself of that annoying pop-up.
Whenever I see an advertisement I consciously try to avoid that product or service. It's all you can really do to get back at the companies forcing this shit on you.

You know, I've been a pirate for as long as piracy has been an option, but I never thought it would turn out to be the only sane way of life going forward.
There is a 0% chance of me buying something from an ad, so youtube is cheating the ad providers by pretending their revenue is going towards something. I just can't condone that kind of unethical behavior.

Google needs to tell advertisers that people don't want their viewing experience to be interrupted or ruined by ads, and advertisers need to create their ads in such a way that it doesn't bother the viewer.

Very, they made a statement not to long ago saying they would delete accounts with no videos which were inactive for at least 2 years. They actual fumbled their words originally and made people think they would also delete videos. It's still very much in the cards if they think they can get away with it.
