You gotta learn to have your own opinions. You're the one playing the game. If you like it, great, continue playing it. If you don't like it, then don't.
Very good, and sometimes very, very janky game. Still, 'good' part outweight 'jank' part. Enjoy
Read all the in-game data text and lore. The world building and background story is great
This is the whacky part of the game
You have only few options >crash an UFO on biomass >wait some stupid amount of time being nomed by biomass until date of mandatory biomass inspection hardcoded by devs arrives
This is the only bullshit moment in the game, i think.
Don't worry. Eventually biomass will be so big the RNG will spawn a mission there.
Once researched, you will be able to make "repellant" bases, at take the Earth back.
The third one tends to be a lot more linear as you have a very preset team with preset strategies and your goal tends to be similar throughout... Also Beastmen Matriarchs are bullshit.
>retro rts games >looks cool and atmospheric >cheap
Oh god, I bet it's lacking. I'll buy the fricking thing in a sale still, but I'm not expecting to be pleased with myself
this game is amazing, especial on higher dificultis and with some house rules ( no re loading if you die ). It has a problem in the midle of campine when you have to be luck to be able to finish the game( thats only ritarded part of this game), but its worth you time and money, defintly recomended.
>problem in the midle of campine when you have to be luck to be able to finish the game
The Siberian base mission? I remember that one being a ballbuster, due to all the rocket-launcher-toting reticulans.
Just deploy collapsible guns. Two of those, and the game becomes a matter of simply blitzing through all the mission thrown at you.
Unlike other After[blank] games, Aftermath has a very clear gear progression an there are specific points where you should be deploying specific guns and armour, or suffer the consequences

Funny I still remember how bogus that mission was.
I don't think you are anywhere close to deployable guns at that point
I think the issue wasn't so much those gun turrets, but rather that your troop stats were still too shit to use them properly. You need high Speed and Capacity to deploy/pack-up quickly, and you're usually missing one of those by the point you get the base mission.
>I think the issue wasn't so much those gun turrets, but rather that your troop stats were still too shit to use them properly
Wrong. Your stats are meaningless with those guns. As long as your soldier can lug it around, you are golden. >You need high Speed and Capacity to deploy/pack-up quickly
Neither of those affects speed of deployment, as it is fixed. >and you're usually missing one of those by the point you get the base mission.
Only if you are throwing fresh meat into the grinder.
Seriously people, a 13 yo me got this game figured out when it came out, what are your major malfunctions?
>I don't think you are anywhere close to deployable guns at that point
You should get them around the same time. The point is to never rush any main mission, unless you are decked with the just-unlocked tier of equipment. Siberia is where the only "normal" gun still allowed is a token sniper rifle.
>can automate some missions or something IIRC >only do it when there's the highest chance to succeed >one mission fails >forever stuck with a red spot on the map
It annoyed me.
There's very little strategy or tactics involved. Once you're spotted there's not much you can do to avoid taking damage. So just sneak around with a spotter, then when you see someone have your whole team blast him at long range.
Also some serious balance issues around explosives. You have to notice the guy before he sees you, guess who he's going to aim for and start running since the rocket has no tracking. Gets even worse in Afterlight where half the beastmen have grenade launchers.
You should make a toast every time you even have an idea to ask others about opinions on things that you already enjoy
You should make a double shot whenever you need opinion of others first, rather than trying on your own something that interests you
Chug the whole bottle if you are having a perm on your head
>I will stop enjoying things if the pdx spamming trannies of /vst/ dislike them
Damn homie
You gotta learn to have your own opinions. You're the one playing the game. If you like it, great, continue playing it. If you don't like it, then don't.
The game is great, despite jank
The atmosphere is top tier.
>aftermath
>jank
Aftermath doesn't even register on the "jank" scale compared to Aftershock

Where can i get biomass sample? this shit is spreading and i can't research

Thanks, but I think that it's over - my planes can't destroy seed ships and there's biomass every where. I'll see what I can do
This is the only bullshit moment in the game, i think.

All three are good. Though the third is only worth a single playthrough
how so

All three are pretty fun and terrafirming mars was pretty cool watching it change. Wayyyy ahead of its time
Yes explosives esp when they first hitt the scene are op AF and often wipe your whole squad.
for me it's afterlight
