this is wiki autism >it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, but they didn't explicitly tell us that it's a duck, so we can't say it's a duck
It's not, because it comes from space/a meteorite. UBs come from different worlds in which they're the only being that exists in that world. The Nihilego UB world only has Nihilego, the Kartana UB world only has Kartana, etc. In the Pokémon Mystery Files, for example, it's theorized that Unown is a UB precisely because it comes from a different world in which there are only Unown.
This is because each world technically only has 1 Pokémon, even the main Pokémon world (technically, ours only has "Mew" that evolved into different creatures). The only exception to this, in our world, is these big legendary dragons that come from outer space - which are implied to be the Giants from the Creation Myth. This last part is more theory territory, but we at least know that creatures like Kyurem/Zygarde/Necrozma/Eternatus (possibly Rayquaza too?) are not UBs nor regular Pokémon that evolved from Mew.
Yes and no. The Giant part is headcanon, but the fact that the UBs come from a world in which they're the only creatures that exist (other than possibly some other type of human) is canon. And the Pokémon Mystery Files are an official piece of lore that was released leading up to the release of USUM, which is where the "Unown are possibly UBs" comes from.
>not 100% stated >Dulse: That Ultra Beast just now... It came from the other end of an Ultra Wormhole... It is a being from another world. A world that you know as Ultra Space!
The part that Ultra Space is a different world is definitely stated. Then the part about the individual worlds is told by the Pokédex entries. >Solgaleo’s Ultra Sun Dex entry: Sometimes the result of its opening an Ultra Wormhole is that energy and life-forms from other worlds are called here to this world. >Lunala’s Ultra Moon Dex entry: It sometimes summons unknown powers and life-forms here to this world from holes that lead to other worlds.
Then there's the fact that the portals of the Ultra Space take you to vastly different looking worlds. What is there to doubt? Even the post-game of USUM deals with different worlds, when it comes to Team Rainbow Rocket. Then the Kartana world has trainers that don't use Pokéballs and only use Kartana, and the Guzzlord world is an alternate Hau'oli city.
hmm seems stretching it, since you said Guzzlord is just a different city we already have. seems they are from different dimensions and not worlds.
very different.

Dimensions refer to space/time. Like, the fact we see in "3 dimensions" because we see length, width and depth; and time being its own dimension. Arguably the Distorsion World is also a dimension because it's something that balances the main Pokémon world. Arguably, this is the fault of Game Freak (or maybe the translation) because they don't really separate the concept of "worlds/dimensions".
Meanwhile, by different worlds, I basically mean different universes in which things turned out differently. In this universe, there's only Kartana. In this world, there's only Guzzlord, etc. This is what Ultra Space connects, the alternative worlds in which things evolved differently.
Back to the original topic, about Eternatus, it can't be a UB because it doesn't come from a different world (which is what makes something a UB). Instead, it comes from space because it fell in Galar 20,000 years ago with a meteor. It's more akin to Kyurem and Necrozma. We don't exactly know what they are or where they come from still, but they're not UBs. If Eternatus were a UB because it comes from space, then every single space Pokémon would be a UB which is just inaccurate. Though I do agree that Eternatus aesthetically reminds me of a UB, but I find this to be a consequence of the clear inspiration from the Alien franchise.

?????? It's stated in Sword and Shield itself that it comes from a meteorite that fell 20,000 years ago. What are you on?
Alright then i'll settle this for eveyone >UBs
They all come from a different universe and live in there necrozma too >Cosmog's line
They don't have a specific universe but they seem to live in the ultra space that's in between the dimensions hence why they have the ability to warps in everywhere they don't have a fixed home >Aliens
Straight up from outer space in this case eternatus
's line >They don't have a specific universe but they seem to live in the ultra space that's in between the dimensions hence why they have the ability to warps in everywhere they don't have a fixed home
which means, different world/dimension and therefor UB

same as above, space can very well mean from another dimension.
Kyurem, Deoxys, Porygon, Eternatus are all UBs.
some janni close this thread, we are done here
There is no reason to change your mind because I agree completely. Eternatus' uncommon typing, its designs, its theme songs all bear likeness to the UBs. It even features a lower pitched version of the UBs' metallic ringing at the end of its cry. Everything about Eternatus screams "Ultra Beast", save for the fact that it does not originate from Ultra Space. At least, not from what is currently known about the Legendary.
Ultra Beasts are shit, wouldn't be too far off if it was one.
>some of the beast design's this game ever had
>"they are shit"
ok tard
>beast design
well, yes, they sure are

It's a creature out of the normal reality ofcourse it's an ultra beast
thats a nice theory, i would even say that Porygon is a ultra beast himself.
maybe even Genesect and Deoxys.
what ya guys think
UBs are human shaped
yes
that's just a fat person with a duskinor mouth. still bipedal with a head and 2 main arms.
not a UB
Play the games.
I did, and they are literally never stated to be UBs. Now frick off with your moronic headcanon you mentally ill troony 🙂

Quite possibly the least Pokémon looking thing in the series, so maybe
>xD

doesn't have the metallic static noise in its cry. not an ultra beast
I'm not trying to change your mind, because I agree. Even its battle theme screams Ultra Beast.
