Pretty much all the characters I play in FGs I play because I really like their character/design. I like to represent that character when I play them. It helps with motivation and learning that particular character. Anyone else feel like that for you in UNI?

I eventually decided I would never play him because I hated him because I couldn't figure out his counterplay. But now that I've grown, maybe I should actually try him for the first time.
He's the only character that I haven't at least tried in training, so maybe he's the one.

I thought I would like Enkidu since he is also a "defensive" character who blocks a lot until the perfect time, but I didn't really like him all that much. I think it might have been because all of his long range options had a lot of commitment.

NTA but it's the little nuances that might make it abit more challenging than the average fighters but when it clicks it makes sense. You're battling on two fronts essentially (your opponent and the little circle at the bottom of the screen). If you win the tug of war at the bottom of the screen you get a bunch of benefits that you can use to pressure your opponent with while they have to hold it generally.
If you're coming from SF though the hardest thing might be learning how the execution works. Also one big factor is there's huge cross-up protection in this game so you don't have to worry as much about that (you do have to worry about being sideswitched though).

Sounds like you're describing GGST/DNF Duel. This game has a good amount of tools to avoid getting perfected. Not saying that you should feel bad if you do get double perfected. Especially if you get knowledge checked into oblivion.

The vita lobbies I played in had about 4 of them who bothered with OS. Outside of the very top ranks who'd also play on PS4 and later on PC, I didn't ever really see anybody doing them outside of the lobbies. Despite the layout there were a lot of yuzu and carmine players too.
That said, the vita's dpad is 100% top tier and I'm still looking for a controller that's as good as it so it wasn't actually that awkward.
Playing negative edge characters in that format sounds pretty wild. I'm surprised nobody has made a good Chinese knockoff of the Vita dpad, it's nice and clicky though a mismatch with the small face buttons IMO.

Coming from granblue, this is a much tougher game between the neutral being kind of fricked up and the importance of meter and grd management
i only bought gbvs for 2B to play when she released and i don't think the game was too hard though i only got to S++ not master cause i got kinda bored so dunno if it's like Strive where any decent player automatically gets celestial.

NTA but it's the little nuances that might make it abit more challenging than the average fighters but when it clicks it makes sense. You're battling on two fronts essentially (your opponent and the little circle at the bottom of the screen). If you win the tug of war at the bottom of the screen you get a bunch of benefits that you can use to pressure your opponent with while they have to hold it generally.
If you're coming from SF though the hardest thing might be learning how the execution works. Also one big factor is there's huge cross-up protection in this game so you don't have to worry as much about that (you do have to worry about being sideswitched though).

Sounds like you're describing GGST/DNF Duel. This game has a good amount of tools to avoid getting perfected. Not saying that you should feel bad if you do get double perfected. Especially if you get knowledge checked into oblivion.

Question for Basto, you started the series on Vita right? How often did you run into people who did OS? I wonder if it's awkward to do on Vita inputs.
The vita lobbies I played in had about 4 of them who bothered with OS. Outside of the very top ranks who'd also play on PS4 and later on PC, I didn't ever really see anybody doing them outside of the lobbies. Despite the layout there were a lot of yuzu and carmine players too.
That said, the vita's dpad is 100% top tier and I'm still looking for a controller that's as good as it so it wasn't actually that awkward.
Playing negative edge characters in that format sounds pretty wild. I'm surprised nobody has made a good Chinese knockoff of the Vita dpad, it's nice and clicky though a mismatch with the small face buttons IMO.

But once you find people who'll take that as free GRD, you'll have to learn how to actually pressure with him up close with his 5B, 4B, and Command Grabs.

There's a corner variant to the midscreen Wagner combo I wrote up a while back.

5B > 6B > 5[C] > 214[B] > 3C > j[C] > jB > jA > 66C > FF > Buff
and I think some people modified the aerial portion of that combo to either include j[B] or the new air move Wagner has. Worth investigating.

I'm playing on a jacket potato (Lenvo G50-80 from 2015, i5-5200U dual-core 2.2Ghz, AMD R5 M330, 4GB RAM) and pirated the older one just to make sure... 1080p with no issues, so it is extremely unlikely you'll have any issues.
